Prince/Bodyguard AU

When the royal family gets increased threats of attack and kidnapping, it is decided that the prince should be assigned a personal bodyguard. Bucky is a veteran with his own demons but was hired for his impeccable record and medals for valor. Gale is no pushover and can take care of himself, except when it comes to inner wounds from distant parents. As the two grow closer, the situation around them gets worse.

VM Mateo’s gear!!! (Close ups and breakdowns under cut)

Mateo’s main weapon in VM, next to his pencil, is his corruption knife. It was gifted to him by The Nightmare King as a thank you joining his side and helping him take over Castle Nocturnia. It has fundamentally the same abilities as Night Hunter’s crossbow & arrows, ie. spreading corruption and being able to turn people into Night Terrors if they’re stabbed with it.

Mateo’s hourglass is almost a decade old, as him and Cooper went through the dream forge when they were about 8, so it’s seen some things meaning half the damage it has sustained is just from being through so much but the rest of it comes from the corruption of the Nightmare King turning it into a fear sand hourglass, though Mateo tries his best to keep the original colors of it despite the sand within mostly turning the reds and purples of fear sand.

Crafted just from Mateo’s hourglass rather than however he came to be in canon, Z-Blob in VM is only able to exist in the dream world until the concept of rifts are discovered. Due to being dream crafted by a regular and later corrupted hourglass Z-Blob comes out a bit gloopy-er than his canon self, dripping slime and leaving flakes of the stuff in his wake (which Snivel usually has to clean). The lightning marks of Z-Blob’s face however actually have nothing to do with Nightmare King’s corruption and were actually a suggestion made by Cooper when Mateo and him were kids so the lightning is actually more like face paint or facial markings.

Mateo’s fear mask is what the dreamlings consider to be his most memorable feature; three eyes, snakes, and scary wolf features? Even dormant the poor guys are already spooked by it but with that masks ability to spew green and black smoke that distort the very air around Mateo before making the mask shift into the faces of horrifying nightmare monsters? Well it’s no surprise that rumour has spread that the mask has the added ability of paralyzing it’s victims with fear.

VM Mateo has this mask that emits a type of green and black smoke that fogs up the air around Mateo so when you look at him everything around him is sorta distorted, but said smoke also does this thing where it shifts and forms into the faces of different monsters making Mateo’s face appear as said monsters

+ sandwiches with the crust off, he seems powerless so no reason to threaten you…

I set up a lil space in my room with some of the art supplies he's been using (no scissors or anything sharp, just doodling stuff. Even sharpened the pencil crayons)

Only issue is that he really, really hates all the blinds around the house. So idk when/how he'll reapproach the place.

I'll make sure to have lunch ready for him for when he's back^^
