For Death to Tennis' @deathtotennis S/S 2018 collection, designers William Watson and Vincent Oshin drew inspiration from New York-based artist, Keith Mackie's Mystical Peacock. Initially hand-drawn on paper then rendered in photoshop, peacock feathers in various colors are set against a white backdrop. This print is used throughout pieces in the collection, ranging from scarves, jackets, shorts, t=shirts, and trousers. The designers played on the multitude of "eyes" which were found on the tail-feathers and interpreted by the designers as an abstract reference on modern society's obsession with vanity with a nod to the1950s aesthetic. With the rise of Snapchat, Facebook Live, and Instagram Live, it was only natural that models at the show were holding their iPhones to livestream the presentation. www.deathtotennis.com - CARTER™ Magazine www.carter-mag.com #wherehistoryandhiphopmeet #historyandhiphop365 #carter #staywoke

If you’ve ever been in Brighton Beach (England), then you have seen the brightly painted huts that line the beaches. This season, William Watson and Vincent Oshin, the design duo behind Death to Tennis pulled inspiration from the nostalgic feel of Brighton Beach-life echoing the wonderful colors painted onto the famous beach-huts.
In the past, Death to Tennis’s color structure has normally limited to three (blue/black/white and a print) and with over 70 pieces or so, with fabrication ranging from 100% Italian cotton to Japanese nylon.
This time around, their expanded color palette includes royal blue, navy blue, purple, yellow, olive, red and even camo! The primary print this season, is of every sports played in the summer over a striped pattern. This thus far is Death to Tennis’ most colorful to date.
In the collection are hoodies, graphic tees, loose fitting trousers and shorts, cargo pants and of course the famous McCarthy jacket, a Justin Bieber favorite. And with Bieber’s engagement to Hailey Baldwin on the front page of gossip magazines and the tabloids, expect the Spring 2019 McCarthy jacket to be sold out even before it hit store shelves.
Death to Tennis Spring 2019: Color me Bright(on) #NYFWMen @DeathtoTennis If you’ve ever been in Brighton Beach (England), then you have seen the brightly painted huts that line the beaches.

Dont make me walk when I want to fly, said the peacock.
While the peacock may be a bird and symbol of beauty, its variant of peacocking has its footholds in narcissism. For one who is guilty of peacocking is called a self-loving vain person. Designers Vincent Oshin and William Watson who had their peculiarly named brand Death to Tennis, looked at sport as a form of vanity as they collaborated with a Mystical Peacock illustration print by Keithe Mackie which dispelled itself amongst their clothes at New York Fashion Week Mens (NYFWM).
However, what was more intriguing was the set up of the presentation, with youthful lads flexing their jawlines in a plethora of mirrors, harnessing a self-imposed narcissistic face into their selfie sticks and vintage cameras, perfecting every pose and ignoring every member of the crowd. A clever way to combine modern people behavior with fashion, and one that worked in an alarmingly impactful way. It was truly a testament to the obsession with vanity that has plagued the society today, empowered by tech in particular. I obviously proceeded with the same, with a signature leopard print jacket by Noose and Monkey, Illesteva eyewear adorned indoors, and a Moschino bear case.
The outfits themselves constituted of sweatpants, sporty tees, shorts and outerwear, blended in hues of peacock green, navy, tan, hints of red, and sprinkled with the peacock print in question. It worked well as an inner layer, an outer piece, a scarf, and in many other formats across the beautifully groomed boys and their impeccable hair styles. The relaxed and oversized look was prominent, with a retro style of minimal prints and clean cuts.
Partially athleisure, partially sportswear and partially loungewear, the pieces worked well to create a cohesive brand story.
Overall, I enjoyed the societal statement and use of creativity to relay a poignant message, which in turn made the leisurely collection one to remember forever.

Exclusive: Greats and Death to Tennis Talk Design Process for an Upcoming Collaboration
After a successful debut collab, Greats and Death to Tennis partnered again on an atypical silhouette in a pair of colorways. Here, leaders of the two brands reflect on the creative process. Step 1: Grab Some Coffee Thanks to mutual friends, the relationship began after Ryan Babenzien of Greats and Vincent Oshin of Death to Tennis were introduced at Toby’s Estate Coffee in Brooklyn, N.Y. “We met socially a year and a half ago and said, ‘We should work together,’” Babenzien explained. And in July 2016, Oshin — along with partner William Watson — and Greats delivered their first collab, the Royale Chukka. “We loved the first, and then it was, ‘When do we do the next one?’” Oshin said. “We started on that a few months back. It’s slightly more tricky, a bit more involved.” Step 2: Get to Work After finding inspiration in a vintage silhouette, Oshin and Watson brought design ideas to Babenzien in his Brooklyn office. “We had a piece we liked the toe of, but wondered, ‘Which [Greats] shoe could we work with?’ We started with one and after the first sample, we agreed it wasn’t what we wanted,” Watson said. After finding the right model, the final product

Sweet Collaborations
This week saw A.S.J’s Morgenstern’s Nyc collaboration on redux with a panel discussion at Neue House NYC with Nicholas Morgenstern, Mario Batali, Vincent Oshin and Chris Schonberg. Moderated by the talented and funny Chris Black, of @donetodeath, the topics covered each person’s connection to Nick, love of ice cream, creative process and how their unique collaboration came to be.
Tastes of each panelist’s ice cream flavor were offered to guests after the discussion, but only Vincent’s Death to Tennis collaborative flavor debuted - to deliciously melty coconut caramel fanfare- during the talk!
