Across the camp Legend casually calls out “I stabbed her in the face.”

IT'S HERE! As we celebrate everything spooky and scary, we here are celebrating our Legend of Zelda antagonists once again! This time we decided to take a look at what it would mean if our Villains weren't quite villains but took on a different perspective or role.

sometimes i do a name search to see if my stuff has been reposted anywhere (which you're always free to do with credit btw, im too tired to do any posting beyond tumblr) and I learned there's a veran-specific booru called the black tower that is one of the few places that has done that, might as well give them some more art as thanks

With the release of Echoes of Wisdom, I wanna take this moment to bring to everyone's attention the fact that the Zelda series, in it's nigh 30 year history, has a grand total of only 5 villainesses:

- Veran from the "Oracle" series.

- Twinrova, who never got her own game because OoS never got made.

- Lady Maud from Tri-Force Heroes.

- Hilda (who was an antagonist, but not really a Villainess)

- Cia from the first Hyrule Warriors (which Nintendo will INSIST isn't canon even if we know better)

So yeah. 5 Villainesses in almost 30 years, two of which don't count and one of which was a joke... (I COULD count Aveil, but she's usually a minor antagonist, not a full villain)

Now that I think about it, I can't think of a videogame franchise from Japan other than Final Fantasy and Fire Emblem with more than 5 villainesses... (Outside of fighting games, and even then!)

All this to say, I hope EoW gives us a bait-and-Switch and gives us another evil lady instead of just Ganon again!

Uh oh, it’s happening

Well Vaati ain’t the villain no more on this au so who else could be? How about Veran except she’s very different from how she is from oas!

Veran here is a corrupted great fairy who wants to take over Hyrule, possibly as revenge idk. After Tetra was kidnapped as a baby, she decided that she could strengthen her weak divine power to use against Hyrule, so she raised her as her daughter. Except it’s kind of a mother gothel and rapunzel situation. Bad vibes all around
