I had a small breakfast at around 11am today then had some stuff to get done and didn’t eat again until 5pm.

It was the perfect amount of food in my stomach and the right number of hours. I didn’t notice how hungry I was until after I’d gone to the bathroom at around 3, because I was wearing tight jeans that kept my stomach from growling. After that though, even once I buttoned them back up, it was like my belly had been woken up. It started grumbling, and kept rumbling and aching non stop for over an hour.

I was around people, so I kept trying to surreptitiously rub or hold it, but I could never give it relief for very long. A few times I was sitting with someone and I felt it cramp with hunger, and all I could do was pray that it wouldn’t growl too loudly.

Luckily it didn’t embarrass me in front of anyone, but I could feel the constant rumbling under my skin and I was so on edge that it would growl louder and give away how starved I felt. Then I had to deal with hiding both my hunger and how turned on I was.

I find that a skipped meal like that works better to get my stomach riled up than a longer fast sometimes. Clearly my tummy knows when to expect food, and when it doesn’t get it it will eventually accept being empty, but for the first couple hours it gets painful, loud, and active.

I want you to wake up starving from not eating much the day before. Your stomach rumbles and groans as you open your eyes then you look toward me hoping I haven't noticed, but I have. I smirk at you, "You sound hungry," I say. You blush and tell me how you were too tired to eat yesterday and how desperately you need food. "My poor baby," I say, rubbing gently on your stomach as it continues to gurgle and whine for food.

"Let's get you something to eat baby."

I've seen the posts about tight things around hungry bellies--corsets, laced tops, belts etc. But, could we consider the alternative? Such as a hungry stomach hidden behind layers and layers of loose clothing.

You dont know how famished he is. How utterly starved he looks underneath the coat, the sweater and whatever else, all of which used to fit better, but now hang loose.

It's like a surprise. You go in for a hug, or maybe you're in close quarters (subway, tram, crowd, whatever) and suddenly you realize there is less to him than you thought. Him? Well fed? Ha! Not even close. Hes starving hungry would like nothing more than a decent meal.

I can't tell if I want to be held sweetly while my tummy growls. A gentle hand resting on the rumbles and promises of food soon but not now. OR if I want someone to sit me in their lap and with a hand fiercely kneading rumbles from my belly. Only offering me scraps after I've satisfied them.

I’m a sucker for characters that give their food away to others who they think need it more. characters who ignore the empty groans of their own stomach because they can go a little longer, and there are people hungrier than them.

they go to sleep proud of themselves for doing the right thing, but with their hollow stomach practically touching their back. it hurts, but they think it’s worth it.

bonus points when someone notices just how starved they’ve let themselves get and forces them to eat their share, to the relief of their aching stomach.

It's so goddamn hot when somebody says, they're "starving." God, just the euphonics of that word can leave me weak.

I love the desperation that often accompanies the word but what I also can't get enough of is the highly personel nature of the voice the word is spoken with. Different accents produce differences in tone and cadence and I think that's wonderfully enticing to think about.

In short, this word has an ungodly amount of power over me, no matter who says it.
