Tonight, It Rained

This is one of my favourite songs of Spanish folklore. It’s certainly not the best, nor the most representative, but for whatever reason I just love it. It conforts me, yet makes me feel kind of nostalgic at the same time. It is a folk song very famous in the western regions of Spain, from the very North ot the very South. It is of Medieval tradition and belongs to a collection of balads from the Kindom of León. It is thought that it was originally a Sephardic wedding balad. Spanish and English lyrics below:
