We as a society need more gender neutral clothing options.

I’m sick and tired of going clothes shopping where all of the women’s section is too frilly, feminine, impractical for everyday wear, made of lower quality material, and has smaller pockets. Men’s section, on the other hand, is all too big for me.

Gender neutral clothing does mean more androgynous options (catch me being mad at Kohls for renaming the Juniors section “young women” or “teenage girls” or whatever it is now in their stores), but it also means:

• carrying men’s and women’s clothing in a variety of sizes accessible to people of all body sizes and types

• carrying clothing of equal quality so that the people shopping in the women’s section aren’t forced to buy clothes more often when their fav t-shirt inevitably falls apart

• just! Put bigger pockets in all pants! And don’t put fake pockets on your pants! Regardless of the “gender” of the pants!

In conclusion clothes shopping always gives me massive gender dysphoria as a nonbinary person and I wish it didn’t.

Wednesday again

The gray will be a sleeveless turtleneck, cast on a couple of weeks ago. Stalled while waiting for help from the designer. So I cast-on a quick tee. This one has yarn issues. While waiting for a shipment, I went back to the gray. So now I'm going back and forth nicely and have two nearly complete tops.

There's a lot of cotton here. They will need some blocking attention.

Insane how my professor took one look at me and immediately clocked me as queer. It wasn't my clothes, I was wearing a hoodie, a t-shirt, and a pair of jeans, and cowboy boots

And yet every time he mentions LGBT and supporting them and making sure we know his class is a safe space, he's looking at me. He's brought it up more than once per class and every time he's making eye contact with me specifically. I've been paying attention he only does it with me how the fuck does he know

#his sister is a lesbian and married #and his wife is a therapist who specializes in taking care of lgbt kids #and he's very open minded and student first type guy #and like we've got a classmate who's more visibly queer than me #maybe i look too straight and that's the problem #like “ah yeah that one's compensating”#which isn't even the case i'm just autistic and need to wear a identical v neck t-shirts every day or i'll have sensory issue anxiety #but the point stands he definitely figured something out #and i know for sure it would be safe to be like hey can you use they/them for me in class but not anywhere else since i'm not out #but on the off chance he used it outside class i couldn't risk it #not when i live off campus and rely on family to drive me to school #the college saga
