Hello 👀 I see your asks are open and u write for One Piece so I'd like to ask for my 4 favorite strawhats, Sanji, Brook, Usopp, and Franky with a reader who is very romantic and likes to take them on dates and do really romantic gestures like buying flowers or randomly hugging them from behind and being generally flirty like a sort of Casanova but is not used to the same type of affection towards themselves so whenever it does happen they get sort of flustered or choked up.
For Sanji he cooks the reader a special dinner. For Brook he writes them a song. For Usopp he makes them like a matching ring. For Franky he maybe he puts on a special show of fireworks for them. And the moment is very special for both of them.
Thank u 💗💗
Yes my lovely!!! I'm honestly the same as the reader, so this was a fun thing to write and I think I fell in love with these characters a lil more.
G/n reader, and neutral nicknames. No use of Y/N.
Warnings: Cheesy, sappy romance. Reader crying from happiness from a romantic gesture. (these aren't really warnings but whatev) It's a lot of fluff y'all.
No spoilers, and all characters can be either pre or post timeskip. (except in Franky's version, because Usopp has his plants and seeds but that's it, and really you can pretend it's pre timeskip)
Brook
"Hey there, handsome. I brought you some tea" you said, winking at your boyfriend as you set the tray down.
"Ah! Thank you so much, I love you down to your bones! YOHOHOHOHOHO!"
You giggled at his bad joke, and curled your arms around him for a hug. You breathed in his scent- sea salt and paper, with an underlying scent of whatever he used to polish his violin. You nestled your face in his afro, letting it tickle your nose.
"Well I love your music" you whispered, pecking his cheekbone. He stiffened, and you could've sworn he was blushing, but it may have been a trick of the setting sun.
"Th-thank you" he answered, wrapping an arm around you as you sat beside him. You noticed scrapped paper crumpled into balls nearby, tossed carelessly behind the skeleton's shoulder.
"Whatcha workin on?" you asked. Brook spluttered on his tea, and you thumped his back.
"Ah! Nothing, nothing!"
You tilted your head in confusion, frowning. He never hid songs from you.
"C'mon babe, you know I'll love it even if it's bad"
"...I want it to be perfect before you hear it."
You looked at him, blinking. He was acting odd.
"Fine. But I'm taking you on a date tomorrow" you said, shrugging.
"Alright... Wait- that makes no sense!"
You laughed. In your mind it made perfect sense. He was working so hard on composing a song that he needed to be perfect even for you to hear- the person he trusted with his worst and best songs. If it needed to be perfect for you, it must be really stressing him out.
"Let me treat you since you've been working so hard on this" you said gently. Brook sighed, looking defeated as he slouched.
"Just... would you be so kind as to come see me tonight? Perhaps on the balcony of the crows nest?"
"Sure, the usual time?" you asked with a smile. He nodded, looking at you softly. Or at least you thought so, sometimes it was hard to tell, but usually you could read his emotions pretty well. You kissed his cheek as a goodbye and got up to go bother Sanji as he prepared dinner, hopefully sneaking bits of food when he wasn't looking.
Dinner was as delicious and chaotic as usual, but you noticed your boyfriend seemed a little out of it. Was that song bothering him more than he was letting on? Was something else going on? You decided to ask him about it when you met with him later. Dinner ended, and you decided to join Chopper, Luffy, Nami and Usopp in the aquarium for dessert and tea while playing a card game. You were surprised Brook wasn't joining, he always seemed to be around when tea was served.
You played a few rounds of the game, throwing down your cards in defeat as you groaned.
"Well losing is great and all, but I got a date with my lovely boyfriend. Have fun, guys!" You left with a smile and a wave. You climbed to the deck and then scaled the ropes up to the crows nest. An odd light was coming from the direction of the balcony, and you furrowed your brow. You entered the crows nest. Moonlight streamed in through the windows, silver pooling on the wood of the floor. It smelled nice for once, not like the usual sweat and booze of Zoro. You looked around, and gasped when your eyes fell towards the balcony.
A trail of rose petals lined by candles led to the balcony door, which was propped open. Cushions and blankets were deliberately placed to make a sort of nest, and more candles lit the area in a soft glow. The stars above shone bright, the full moon adding to the delicate light. Brook was standing looking out into the night. You took a few tentative steps forward, soaking in the floral scent of the rose petals.
Brook turned around, holding sheets of paper in his hand. If he had lips, you knew he'd be smiling softly at you.
"Brook..." you whispered, trailing off.
"Come here, my love." He held out a hand, and you followed the candle-lined trail into his arms. You held him tightly, crushing his ribs. He chuckled painfully.
"Please, sit down. I wrote this for you." His voice was deep and smooth, sending warmth cascading over you like a warm blanket.
"W-what is all this? Why?" You let go of him, bewildered. He eased you down to sit on the cushions and wrapped a blanket around your shoulders. His feet shuffled him away behind two music stands you hadn't noticed before, each holding a piece of paper. He picked up his violin and bow, letting it hang a little in his grip.
"You do so much for me. You take me on dates, bring me things, listen and adore my music, and so much more. I wanted to do something for you, just because... well, you deserve it. I wrote this for you, but I'm still not sure I captured how just beautiful your soul is. So please, bear with me."
You tried so hard not to cry. Your throat was burning with the effort, and you could feel your eyebrows scrunched upwards. You looked at him with wide eyes, chin wobbling.
He chuckled at you, and brought up his violin to his chin, readying himself. He took a breath in, and began to play. It was beautiful, pure, and sweet. It had a slow tempo, but slowly increased as he opened his mouth to sing.
It was dark, all alone.
A promise I kept, but I yearned for death.
I met a man, who accepted me and took me in
and I thought I had a reason to live again.
But you. You stole my breath.
If I had a heart, you would've stolen it too.
The promises to keep living were almost forgotten
'cause when I'm with you, darlin
I could never wish for us to part
I may not have a heart, but I have a soul.
And that, I give you entirely.
Accept my love, because you've shown me yours.
Please, my angel.
Be mine, forever.
Tears were streaming down your face by the time the first word came out of his mouth, and by the time he ended the lyrics, you had to clamp a hand over your mouth to stifle the sobs. You wanted to listen to him, but you were so overwhelmed with love, you could only cry.
The music faded off with a gentle, smooth note, and you finally let yourself let out a sob. You heard shuffling from your boyfriend, and he grabbed one of your wet hands to place a handkerchief in it. You stuttered out a thanks and he brought you to his chest.
"Please tell me these are good tears" he murmured in your ear. You nodded frantically, and threw your arms around him.
"Please sing it again sometime. I can't handle it right now but another time? I just... I just love you s-so muuuuch!"
"Oh my angel. I love you too"
Note: I wrote the lyrics myself so if you don't like it don't tell me because I'm a baby
Franky
There were strange sounds coming from Franky's workshop, luring you to the belly of the Thousand Sunny to wonder what the hell your boyfriend could be doing. You approached the door, ignoring the 'keep out' signs that you knew weren't aimed at you. Muted voices you recognized as Usopp and Franky floated through the crack at the bottom of the door. You pressed your ear against the cool metal, picking up words here and there.
"...gotta be... for her... can you... shavings or would... better?" Franky's gravely voice muttered.
"Hmmm... be loud... but there's this that'll... does that sound alright?" Usopp responded. Obviously they were planning something, but what? Nobody's birthday was coming up, at least that you were aware of. Maybe Nami asked for some improvements on her weapon? You knocked, curious.
"Babe? It's me!" you called opening the door. You heard quick shuffling and a fearful squawk from Usopp.
"Oi! Careful! That stuff's explosive!" he hissed at your boyfriend.
A small smile curved your lips as you raised a brow. Franky was obviously hiding something behind his broad frame.
"Thought I told you to include me in projects with explosives" you teased, crossing your arms.
"I-I... Uh... It's not what it looks like!" Franky stuttered, waving his hands in front of his face. You giggled.
"Relax hon. I don't know enough about Nami's weapon to be of any help. I just heard some weird noises and wanted to see what was going on"
"Nami's-?" Franky was cut off with a loud exclamation from Usopp.
"Oh! You wanted to see my plants, right? See what they can do and how I harvest the seeds?"
That effectively caught your attention, despite the obvious tactic, and your eyes lit up in curiosity. His plants were much more interesting to you than the complexities of Nami's weather science.
"Oh right! I forgot I said that!"
"I have some spare time now, want me to show you?" he asked, with a smile as he crowded you towards the door. You glanced at your boyfriend over his shoulder. He just sent you a small wave with a grin.
"Bye my love! My sweetie! My genius cyborg! My-" Usopp cut you off as he shut the door, leaving you with an imprint of your boyfriend turning more into a blushing mess with each exclaimed pet name.
"Gross" he muttered. You stuck your tongue out at his back, but didn't say anything. You didn't want to ruin your rare opportunity for him to explain the weird plants he cultivated on board. The two of you talked for hours, getting distracted easily when the captain pulled the two of you into a weird game that you ended up winning, much to your confusion.
Eventually it was dinner, and Franky showed up late before promptly chugging some cola. He seemed... off. Nervous? Excited? Whichever it was, he was preoccupied. He barely spoke during dinner, and gave short answers when he was addressed. Dinner finally ended, and you were tasked with helping Sanji do dishes, but knew the cook would understand if you wanted to check on your boyfriend first.
"Franky?"
"Hm?"
"You okay?"
"Huh? Oh yeah. I'm fine" he said easily. You tilted your head, keeping eye contact.
"You seemed preoccupied during dinner."
Franky sighed, "I am. The project I'm working on... can you meet me tonight?"
You smiled and nodded eagerly. "Sure thing, I'll meet you after I finish helping Sanji out. How can I say no to my Superrrr hero?" you struck the pose he often did, wrists above your head and a wide grin on your face. It drew a laugh from Franky's broad chest, and the sound washed over you like a warm wave.
A hand gently ruffled your hair as he passed by. You caught it, and raised his knuckles to your lips. He smelled like metal. His cheeks tinged red as you let go of his hand and walked back into the kitchen, swaying your hips just a little more than usual to grab his attention. You looked over your shoulder, catching his gaze flicking up from your ass to meet your eyes. A blush tinged his cheeks and ears, and he quickly spun to walk out. You snorted, and exchanged a knowing look with the cook.
You talked pleasantly with Sanji, discussing each other's day. He asked about what you learned with Usopp, and you gladly filled him in. You asked him about his professional opinion as to whether he would change any of the dishes he served today at all, and he told you his plans. It was easy conversation that accompanied your dish washing system, making it seem to go by quickly. Soon enough, the dishes were washed, dried, and put away. You dried your hands, grabbing some cola from the fridge for you and Franky to share while he showed you your project. You happily said goodbye to Sanji, who sent you a knowing look. You blushed with a chuckle.
You made your way to the deck, searching for Franky.
"Oi! Up here!" he called. Your head whipped around towards the sound of his voice at the helm. You smiled, jogging up to him.
"I brought us some Cola!" you announced proudly, holding up the jug. He took it in his large hands and placed it on the ground with a soft smile. You cocked your head. Normally he opened it and offered you the first sip. What was he doing? He stepped back and gestured behind him.
"Come here. I want to show you something."
You were confused, but trusted him whole heartedly, so you stepped towards him. Once close enough, he put a hand on your shoulder and turned to reveal a cozy setup- a wide, freestanding hammock with pillows and blankets for optimal comfort. The hammock wouldn't curl up and around the person, but rather was held open by wooden slats at the short ends of the hammock that had holes drilled in for the many ropes that tied back to the wooden frame. The hammock material obviously had a high thread count according the the gentle sheen you could see in the moonlight. The wooden frame was carved into swirls, suns, and moons. You gasped. It was beautiful craftsmanship.
"This is the project? It's... amazing" you whispered.
"This? No. Just took a couple hours. The real project you haven't seen yet. Now sit down and get cozy!" he urged with a nudge on your lower back. You needed no further encouragement. You sunk into the hammock with an appreciative sound. He sat next to you, and you let yourself fall into his embrace under the blankets.
"So what's the real project?" you asked. Your new pillow rumbled as Franky laughed.
"You'll see." He pulled out a tiny den-den mushi and called someone on it. As soon as the person on the other end picked up, he said a simple order, a handsome smirk curving his lips.
"Light it up"
"Roger" Usopp replied from the other end. You gawked at your boyfriend. What in the-
BOOM
You flinched reflexively as the sound cracked through the sky, and you swung your gaze towards the direction of it. Beautiful colored streaked down in a sparking sphere before fading to nothing. You gaped at the sky, frozen in awe.
BOOM SHHHH BOOM
Firework after firework was set off, shape after shape. They slowly got more intricate. A blue star, tangerine, kitchen knife, katana, straw hat with a red ribbon, skull, slingshot, flower, pair of antlers, and finally, as the finale, a portrait of you. You gaped at the glimmering lights falling through the sky, painting a line drawing of what was undeniably, you. You looked beautiful though, smiling happily into the distance as your form faded into the stars.
"Franky..." you breathed. You clutched a fist over your chest, trying to fight down tears. He did this... for you? His large form shifted so he was looking at your face.
"Baby, now you see how I see you. You're the day to my night, the moon to my star. I love you with everything I am, but you fluster me too much for me to say much, and we're so busy every day that I can't find the time like this very often to show you. You deserve everything you could ever want. I love you."
His confession broke the weak dam that was holding back your tears, and you sniffled as you looked at him, gripping onto his unbuttoned shirt. You finally thudded your forehead against his hard chest, and he chuckled, running a hand up and down your back soothingly.
"Frankyyyyy!!!" you wailed. He held you closer, picking you up and letting you lay on top of him.
"It's okay. I know you love me too."
You nodded your head, unable to speak through the overwhelming emotions of love for your boyfriend.
(yes the carvings on the hammock and what he said were on purpose)
Sanji
You crept into the kitchen quietly, sneaking up behind the cook as he hummed to himself standing before the stove. There was only a single pan sizzling. You quickly wrapped your arms around his lithe waist, startling him.
"Wha-? AHN~~ MY LOVE!" he swayed dangerously on his feet, hearts in his eyes as he comprehended the situation. You giggled, and pecked the back of his neck. He turned in your arms, and hesitantly wrapped his own around you. The relationship was still somewhat new, and despite your assurances that you loved when he touched you (in any way), he still seemed hesitant. You had a hunch that he was so used to rejection that it was strange to be flirted with so blatantly, but he was adjusting.
"How's the best chef on the Grand Line?" you cooed. He tensed a little at the compliment.
"Best chef on the Grand Line, huh?"
"Of course! But I had a question for you"
He pulled back slightly, his ear twitching towards the pan behind him. He spun the two of you around so your back was facing the stove, and he stirred the ingredients.
"Yes, mon amour? Do you need a snack? Or want me to try a recipe? or do you need a drink? I got some fresh fruit at the last-"
"Sanji!" you said, laughing as you looked at him. He blushed, realizing he was rambling again.
"Sorry! What did you want to ask?"
You cradled his cheeks in your hands, looking deep into his eyes, a smile curving your lips.
"Have you thought about it? What you'll cook when you find the All Blue?"
His blue eye widened, and his jaw was slack. His hands froze behind you, stopping his precise movements.
"Y-you... I don't... mon... Mon Ange" he stuttered and whispered. You cocked your head at the French phrase, not having heard it before.
"Hm?"
In response, he shifted one hand to rest on the middle of your back, and the other curled around your hand that was on his cheek. He swung you to the side, dipping you as he kissed you deeply. Your squeak in response was swallowed by his lips, and a quiet moan squeezed from his chest. You kissed him back desperately, your free hand gripping his flexed bicep as he held you up. He tasted of tobacco and the savory dish he was preparing. He pulled back, licking the connecting string of saliva from his lips with a devilish smirk. He still held you at an angle, hovering above the ground. He placed your hand he was holding gently onto his shoulder, and traced a finger down your arm and held the back of your neck. His thumb brushed over your jaw, and he brought his hand forward to run the back of his index finger down your cheek. You were so sure he could feel the heat of the blush radiating from your skin.
"My Angel" he whispered. You blinked at him. He huffed a small chuckle and pulled you back onto your feet so you were in the same position as before. Your knees felt weak from the sudden display of affection, but he held you steady in his arms.
"Yeah... what?"
"Mon Ange means My angel. That what you are to me."
"O-oh... thank you?"
He smiled, and pressed a kiss to your forehead.
"Don't thank me for telling the truth, darling"
You giggled almost deliriously and hid your face in his chest as he resumed his movements stirring the food on the stove. You stayed there a few more moments, basking in his radiating warmth and adoration. You finally turned your face up to his, a smile curving your lips.
"I came in for a glass of water. Luffy decided that he's going to teach me one of his made up games."
Sanji hummed, smirking.
"Let me know if you need anything stronger than water to get through it" he teased. You rolled your eyes. It couldn't be that bad right? Luffy was... simple.
"I'll let you know" you said, pecking his cheek. You tried to slip from his grip but a hand caught your wrist gently. You looked back, curious. His pale cheeks were tinged a soft pink, and his blue eye flicked between the pan and you, as if he couldn't decide what to look at.
"Sanji?"
He cleared his throat a little.
"Tonight... would you do me the honor of having a private dinner with me?"
You felt your face heat, and you looked to the side, hoping futilely to hide your flustered expression.
"O-of course!"
His hand slid to cradle yours, and he brought your knuckles up to his lips. He placed a gentle kiss on each one before flipping your hand to kiss your palm and the inside of your wrist. You couldn't help but stare at his movements, entranced in the feeling and the pure adoration emanating from is actions. His one visible eye finally met yours with a soft smirk.
"Merci, Mon amour"
Your stomach swooped with butterflies, and you were frozen in place, too flustered to look away or move. You felt your lips start to curve in a dopey lovesick smile.
The door to the eating area suddenly banged open, startling you out of your daze.
"SANJI!! I'M HUNGRY!" Luffy whined. You jumped back, snatching your hand from Sanji's grip. You were usually fine with the PDA he showed you, but the moment felt too intimate to share with anyone else. You could only giggle as the cook turned to glare threatening at your captain.
"Food'll be done soon." he replied in a clipped voice. Luffy blinked at his tone, but was quickly distracted with the scent of the snack Sanji was cooking. You watched as deft, elegant hands plated the food and shoved it towards the ever-hungry captain.
"Thanks for the food!" Luffy chirped to the blonde. He turned to you.
"C'mon! Help me prank Usopp!" He grabbed the plate and bounded out the door without waiting for your response to the sudden change in plans.
"Bastard's a pain in my ass" your boyfriend grumbled under his breath. He handed you the glass of water you had came into the kitchen for. You giggled at his crankiness towards Luffy.
"He can be. I'll see you tonight though, okay? Let me know if I can do anything to help. I'll even wrangle Luffy and Zoro for you"
Sanji rolled his eyes at the name of the swordsman.
"I appreciate the sentiment, but the damn marimo would only sully your hands"
A shout of your name from the deck called you into action. You pressed a quick peck to both of Sanji's cheeks, his forehead, and finally his lips before parting with a final kiss to the back of his hand.
"I'll be waiting for you, my prince!" you cried dramatically as you exited the door. Hearts danced in Sanji's eyes and he swayed as he clutched at his chest.
"AHN~~ MY LOVE!" He collapsed to his knees dramatically as you closed the door.
"Disgusting" rumbled a deep voice from nearby. You rolled your eyes.
"Oh shut the fuck up and go wash your stank, hairy ass, Zoro" you griped. He nearly choked on his sake at your language. You cheerfully ran off to make mischief with the captain, ignoring the swordsman's indignant "Oi!" from behind you. You hoped Sanji heard your remark. Loud laughter from the kitchen made you think he did.
~~~~
It was hours later when you finally were getting ready for the date. You had a busy day, between pranking Usopp, saving Luffy when he fell overboard from Usopp's retaliation, and trying to get Franky to teach you more about the mechanics of the ship. Your brain hurt from the cyborg's lecture, and you finally gave up and decided that you probably just wanted to tinker around with things like Usopp does. That ended rather quickly after you had to make a trip to visit Chopper not even five minutes of working with Usopp.
You dried off the rest of your body from the shower, looking through your clothes for an outfit. This was obviously a date, so you wanted to look somewhat decent. You finally decided on an outfit that was appropriate for the warm weather, and knew highlighted Sanji's favorite features of yours. You stepped out of your room, wondering where on the ship the cook set up.
"Ready?"
You looked to the side. Leaning against the wall, smoking a cigarette was just the man you were looking for. You smiled, nodding.
"You look amazing." He stepped forward to kiss your cheek, and pulled back to look into your eyes
"You said you'd do anything for me right?" he murmured. You nodded.
"Close your eyes for me, my love."
You looked him, curious. He held up a silken tie with a smirk.
"It's going to be a surprise, so close your eyes please."
Your heart skipped a beat, but you followed instructions. The silken strands of the tie tickled your cheeks and eyes. He tied it loosely enough so it just barely touched your lashes, but still somehow stayed up. You felt him step away, as if admiring his work. Strong arms suddenly swept you off your feet, and you just about swooned with the pure strength that was hidden under his typical long sleeves.
He carried you through the ship, and you felt somewhat ridiculous like this, but you wouldn't change it for anything. Keeping your eyes closed made you feel more aware of your surroundings. You could guess as to where he was taking you, but you didn't know for sure.
He finally came to a stop and lowered you to a standing position.
"Keep your eyes closed while I take off the blindfold" he warned. You nodded slightly, anticipation whirling in your gut. His hands dragged up your arms, behind your ears, and finally drifted to the knot behind your head. The silky material released easily, caressing your face with a cool touch. You heard him take a deep breath, as if to calm himself.
"O-okay. Open your eyes"
You blinked a few times to let yourself adjust to the light, and gasped in awe. You were in the aquarium bar. Fairy lights draped from the ceiling, adding a soft light to the area. A table was set up in front of the aquarium glass with a crisp white cloth, fancy plates and bowls and silverware, and a rose placed with obvious care over one. You looked to the side, noticing what looked to be a portable cooking station nearby. Fresh seafood sat in an ice tray nearby. What-?
Sanji cleared his throat, obviously nervous at your lack of response.
"I-I can change a few things, of course. But since you asked earlier, I thought I'd show you what I'd want to cook once we find the All Blue... will you cook and dine with me?"
Overwhelming love and affection washed over you. He was letting you intimately see and experience his passion. You couldn't help but get choked up.
"S-Sanji!" you all but slammed into him, hugging him desperately. His arms wrapped around your back hesitantly.
"Is this too much? Is this bad? Why are you crying my love? Please, I'll do anything"
You let out a wet chuckle at his frantic response. His arms tightened around you.
"It's g-good tears, love. God I'm so in love with you I can't help but cry. Of course I'll cook with you!"
He pulled back, holding you so your hips were still flush but he could look into your eyes. All he could see was unbridled joy and happiness through the tears, a genuine grin puffing your cheeks. He quickly swooped in and kissed away the tears with tiny pecks, tickling you. Your laughter sounded like the bells of heaven to him.
"Mon Ange, I love you."
hhhhhnnnggggg i love this man so much he's such a romantic and so am i and just sdkljlkdfjdfsfdsjil
Usopp
"Usopp! My love! My dearest boyfriend! Captain of 8,000 men!" you called liltingly as you waltzed into his workshop. You snapped your gaze over to him as you heard sudden fumbling and a muttered curse.
"O-oh hey!" he responded, obviously hiding something behind his back. You furrowed your brow. He was always begging to show you his inventions, no matter the failure. He always showed you what he learned.
"What uh... what you got there hon?" You were almost fearful of what he was hiding. You had experienced his slingshot ammunition first hand, and knew he was a prankster. Put those together and you had no clue what you could be in for.
"N-nothing!" he squeaked. He was turning into a really bad liar. You raised a brow, highly skeptical.
"Uh huh. You know better than to prank me in certain ways, right?"
"I do, I do!"
You narrowed your eyes at him. His gaze flicked around the room, avoiding yours. He cleared his throat exaggeratedly.
"So did you need something?"
You sighed with a smile and a shake of your head. If he pranked you, he knew the consequences.
"Oh yeah! Sanji has lunch ready if you're hungry."
His gaze lit up at the mention of food, and immediately turned back around towards his desk. He rummaged around for a second before turning back to you with a wide smile.
"Let's go before Luffy eats it all!" he said, dragging you with him to the deck.
Lunch was great as usual, but Usopp delved back into his workshop after eating enough to make him full. You kept yourself occupied during the afternoon by playing a game with some crewmates. It was obvious he wanted to keep it a surprise for you, and you respected that, but you couldn't stop thinking about it. What would it be? How would he prank you? Was it even a prank? Was it something bad? Why did he want to keep it a secret?
A tap on your arm grabbed your attention again, and you turned towards Chopper.
"It's your turn again. Are you okay? You keep zoning out"
"Hm? Yeah I'm fine. Usopp was just acting a little strange earlier but I'm sure it's either another prank or something like that" you shrugged, grabbing the dice to roll. Chopper hummed at you, quickly absorbed back into the board game.
~~~~
Dinner rolled around, another amazing meal courtesy of Sanji. Usopp showed up late, but you had protected his plate fiercely from the hungry captain.
"No! My boyfriend has been working really hard on a project ALL DAY and needs some food! Take Zoro's or Nami's food!" you chided. Luffy pouted, and you ignored Zoro's and Nami's sounds of indignation. Sanji finally stepped in with an extra plate just for Luffy.
The door finally opened, and your expression changed quickly to a grin as you laid eyes on your long-nosed lover.
"I saved your plate!" you exclaimed, patting the seat beside you. Usopp returned your smile, and eagerly sat next to you. Everyone on the crew knew what it meant to keep a plate untouched from Luffy.
"How was your day?" he asked around a mouthful of food. You started chatting away about the games you played. You started describing how you kept zoning out because you were so curious about his creation.
"That's what I love about you though. Your curiosity and imagination" he murmured in your ear. Heat flooded to your face, and his words effectively shut you up. He looked at you after you were silent for a minute, staring at your now-empty plate. You saw him smiling sheepishly out of the corner of your eye as he shoved the last bite of food into his cheeks, puffing them out. He leaned forward, and booped the tip of his long nose on your temple, almost in place of a kiss.
Dinner finished quickly after that, and your boyfriend gently grabbed your wrist and guided you out of the eating area. He lead you onto the deck, and brought you up to Robin's flower garden. His hand shifted to cup yours, palms touching as he held your hand up. His palms felt clammy, and he shifted anxiously.
"You okay babe? What's going on?" His nervousness was affecting you.
"I had a whole speech, but for once... it doesn't feel right for the moment."
He took a deep, shaky breath and exhaled slowly as he stared at your joined hands. You waited patiently, curious but not wanting to press him. He looked into your eyes determinedly.
"You... I love you. So much. I love what you do for me. You take care of me all the time, and profess your love every day. You love me for who I am, all of me. I just- I want to show you. I don't feel like telling you like this is enough. I want you to be reminded of my love for you every damn day like you show me every day, so... I made something for you."
His free hand reached into his pocket bringing out a pair of matching rings. They were stunning, smooth, and shiny; simple, but intricate. You loved it.
"Usopp..." you whispered in reverence. Tears pricked your eyes at the sentiment.
"I want to promise you that I love you, through my bad days, through my cowardice, through anything. I made these rings so we can always know the other loves us. One day, I'll make you a better ring and propose to you with it, but will you accept this for now? As a promise for my love?"
You blinked, tears streaming down your face, framing your grin with wet trails.
"Of course, I'd be honored to accept your love" you repeated the line you said when he first asked you to date him. He grinned in response, tears shining along his long lashes.
He put the ring on, and you couldn't help but notice it fit perfectly. You stared at your joined hands, now decorated with matching rings that promised a future. You laughed wetly, and jumped into his arms. He laughed and spun you around once before he placed your feet back on the ground and kissed you. He nipped at your lips gently, smiling into the kiss. You couldn't help but return his grin, and you both had to pull back so your teeth wouldn't clack together.
"I love you, Usopp"
"I love you more" he answered.
I actually liked writing for Usopp more than I thought I would!
I'm so sorry this took me forever to get out! I've been swamped with my depression and my job with hellish hours but I loved writing this, and wouldn't mind doing more fluff for more characters :)

We talk a lot about Sanji protecting Usopp, but we keep ignoring how beautiful and hot it would be for Usopp to lose his mind over somebody hurting Sanji.
There's this huge fight against another crew, and in theory, everyone has their own fights already and there aren't any problems. But turns out the guy Sanji is fighting against is a sniper or, well, a long-distance fighter and something Sanji can't win with his combat style. But he's stubborn and he keeps wanting to win because otherwise he'll feel useless (he already can't fight against women, he's not gonna let this guy do this to him).
But he's bruised and bleeding and struggling to keep up more every time, and everybody's focused on their fights so they don't pay much attention to it. It's Sanji, he'll handle it. But he can't handle it, actually, and it hurts. Mentally. Physically. Everything hurts. But he doesn't give up or ask for help because that's just the way Sanji is. The guy he's fighting against is about to pull one of his moves, and Sanji might be stubborn, but he's smart enough to know that this one is going to be the end of the fight and probably him if it keeps hurting him this way.
He's hurt and weak and breathless and scared, for once, so fucking scared. So he closes his eyes and prays for the best.
Then, all of a sudden, he hears a loud scream and incoherent cursing when a presence appears right in front of him, making him open his eyes.
"Hey, babe." Usopp smiles down at him quickly before returning his eyes to the damaged guy in front of them, preparing his slingshot for another attack. "Need a helping hand from your amazing captain Usopp?" Sanji doesn't even have the strength to talk. Too embarrassed about it. Too hurt, too. The cook presses his hands into fists and tries to stand up, failing and falling to the ground in the same second. Usopp frowns, concerned. "Love-"
"I can help! I can win! Just-" He feels like crying, but that would be more humiliating than his boyfriend having to save his ass. He keeps staring at Usopp's back, and he just feels so protected and warm by his presence that it almost makes him feel bad how nice it feels to be covered. "I can do this!"
"You can't." Usopp mutters, ready to attack again. "But that's fine. I'll just do what you can't, right?"
The cook can't fight against that logic. Their logic. His logic, to begin with. But he still feels like he hasn't done enough to help. Like he's a failure for even thinking about how romantic and good it feels to be taken care of this way for once.
But even if the frustration is still a lot, he gives in to Usopp's words. "I guess." He sees Usopp aiming at the guy, far away from them. So much Sanji can't even see him properly. His boyfriend stays quiet for a long while, his breathing is heavy and his hands are shaking. Sanji keeps hearing him curse under his breath, and he doesn't know where his funny and charismatic sniper has gone. So that raises a question: "Are- Are you mad at me? For not asking for help?"
Because it has happened before. Countless times, at this point. Usopp never gets truly mad, but he does always end up worrying too much and begging Sanji to stop fighting on his own all the time and start relying on others.
Sanji can see some sort of smile from where he's sitting. "Mad? At you?" His hands stop shaking to aim better, squinting. He never ends up answering the question, leaving it in just a sarcastic scoff. "Are you alright? How much did he hurt you?"
The cook frowns at that, holding his bleeding arm close to his chest and refusing to look down. "It's fine. Chopper will-"
"How much did he hurt you, Sanji?" His voice is way deeper now. Serious. It makes Sanji shiver under his words.
He doesn't have the heart to tell him, but he does it anyway. "My arm-"
"Legs?" Sanji ignores the shaking that suddenly takes over Usopp. "Can you move?"
"I'm sorry-"
"You have nothing to apologize for." And then, he goes back to aiming. This time it does feel like he's about to attack. "I'll protect you when you can't. I'll fight when you can't. I'll save you when you can't save yourself. I'll make people regret their actions when you can't... And this scumbag has some apologizing to do."
So Sanji watches as his boyfriend takes the other sniper down with sudden, swift movements that the cook can't even see properly and doesn't even understand, at this point. He keeps watching as Usopp beats the shit out of this random pirate because he decided to hurt him. The sniper keeps on attacking and attacking and attacking and Sanji can only see him move in front of him, cursing under his breath and hearing his name being repeated over and over again like a mantra Usopp keeps to gain courage.
The fight ends almost instantly for Sanji, the obvious winner of the fight shining over him with an exhausted smile and some wounds that aren't nearly as bad as Sanji's. "What? Impressed of your boyfriend saving your ass for once?"
Sanji doesn't know how to tell him that he has never been more in love with him.
They help him get up from the floor (Franky ends up carrying him), and nobody makes a single comment about this thing happening. Not even Mosshead, who's walking right behind him with Usopp by his side. Sanji pretends not to, but he listens to every word of the conversation.
"Well done there." Zoro keeps his monotone tone, but he always sounds a little bit happier when talking to Usopp. "I'm surprised you weren't scared to death."
Sanji senses Usopp being offended even before it happens. "Hey! Have more faith in me, idiot!" The sniper sighs. "The one thing I'm good at and you still say these things..."
He doesn't have to turn around to know Zoro's shrugging his shoulders. "I just figured you'd do your thing."
"I was scared." Sanji can't gasp at the confession, but he buries his head deeper on Franky's back. "But it's just- My feet just moved on their own." The cook knows Usopp's looking at him. He always knows. "Besides," He takes a deep breath, his next words coming out from a place deep in his heart Sanji has never seen. "I can't let anybody take him away from me."
Sanji fights the urge to jump to his arms, and decides to give in to sleep right away, not fearing who might attack from behind anymore.
Usopp will just do what Sanji can't.

i talk a lot about my luffy hcs but i need to talk about my other strawhat hcs...
like how usopp makes everyone matching friendship bracelets, each string representing a color tied w each crew member, and luffy asks him to remake them everytime a new member joins, even if hes midway thru (usopp will act upset but he doesnt mind, he doesnt want people to feel excluded)
or how robin is very intrested in arts and crafts, and when shes not studying or reading, she'll crochet nami a new top, or knit sanji an apron, or sew chopper a new vest
or how zoro and sanji learned how to paint nails and do makeup during the time skip, after helping perona and the newkamas, and when they have their weekly crew sleepovers they'll have competitions with usopp and luffy as the models
or how when nami goes clothing shopping she always keeps her eyes out for clothes for everyone, because she knows specifically luffy and zoro are bad at taking care of themselves and wont get themselves nice clothes, so she needs to make sure they look presentable (she also nags at them daily to shower but yk u win some u lose some)
or how since chopper is a reindeer he views the crew as a herd, looking out for each other, feeding each other, and helping others with the little things. he picks up everyones scent, so when he felt lonely during the timeskip he picked up some herbs that reminded him of his crew
or how when franky designs a new function for a machine, the sunny or even his body, he aims to impress luffy, usopp, and chopper. their reactions motivate him to be better. it makes him feel cool (or ig you can say super)
or how during halloween time, brook always ends up in a haunted house, because the people who made it assume hes a spare prop, and he always runs out crying out of fear
or how jinbei and a amazing painter. he paints landscapes, memories, colors, and shapes. it always amazes luffy how he can see something and perfectly replicate it. he makes sure jinbei knows hes awsome.

I've discussed it before and since one of my older post about is it being liked again, I'll discuss it again!
Feral Zoro
Feral Zoro gives me so feelings.
The crew goes nuts during battle sometimes and that's not something you can just turn off. And sure, the others can be wild and fierce but Zoro has battle carved in his bones. The rumble of war drums and old prayers said before battle to wrathful gods are all layered in his pulse.
And all that desire, that relentless fury and strength, went from protect myself and my dream to protect them and their dreams.
Protect Luffy.
Nami.
Sanji.
Usopp.
Robin.
Chopper.
Franky.
Brook.
Jinbei.
Sunny.
I imagine that mantra is louder than anything else during those fights, the urge to protect and defend.
Don't you dare let them get past you. Don't you even think of losing this fight. You have to be the best because if you aren't that means someone else is... And what if that person is the enemy?
Failure is not an option because someone is relying on you.
You can cry with grief until your eyes are swollen and dry like the world feels at that moment, or curse every god you can think of with snarled anger at the sky, or let yourself drift away for a little while all the agony and pain you put your body through comes racing in with thunderous noise, later.
But now... Right now you hold it together.
There is no other option.
You stop when your blood has soaked into the earth so much it's started pooling on the surface or until your body gives up and moving is almost a foreign word.
You can rest when they do. When they are safe. You don't stop before then because you can't.
And while I think Luffy is fantastic at leaving it all out in the field, Zoro really lets himself slide into that mindset in a way far different from Luffy.
And I can't imagine it's easy to settle down after those battles. I'm not talking about the small battles or the ones where they leave a little beat up but okay overall.
No.. I'm talking about the ones that change them. Where at some point, or perhaps multiple, the thought crosses their mind that this might be it.
I've never been in a situation like that obviously, but I know how I get when I get anxious and overwhelmed. Even once the problem is fixed and things settle back down, I'm running around checking on things and watching everything. Heart still ready to start running laps again and nerves pulled tight.
That's a work environment. Granted a very important and stressful work environment but no one will die at my job. My loved ones will not be hurt because of something I do or don't do at work.
Now take that to a scale that comprises of the big battles they've had. That's a whole lot of feeling and adrenaline to just let go of.
And I love after fights where the crew just kind of all go limp and happy because it's done and Luffy won because of course he did.
But...
I think Zoro probably paces a lot those nights, silent and one with the shadows. Heavy boots making the softest thud, the gentle chimes from his earrings, and the quiet noise his swords make as they knock against each other.
Pacing the deck over and over if they're on the Sunny.
Up and down hallways if they're someplace different.
Even around the room.
He just embodies that caged tiger vibe.
They can't rush him. He has to relax on his own but they all help.
He's a little unpredictable and wild eyed like this but they're not scared of him, could never be truly scared of someone who is such a huge part of who they are.
They settle him like a tiger.
With space to spread his legs and get out any extra energy. They let him pace his territory and check on them, even though tigers aren't pack animals. They coax him into the kitchen to eat and replace the energy his body burned through, even though he doesn't register he's hungry. They patch him up with slower movements than normal and try to calm him each time he tenses up and his muscles jump.
Sometimes he stays bloody and raw until several hours later, when he's finally calm enough to take off all the grime and blood like it was a final layer of armor left from the battle.
Sometimes it takes longer, and they wait it out with him until he's ready to come back.
And they'll die before they tell anyone but Zoro's a cuddler, especially after episodes like that. Cat like cuddles all the way.

Oda's comment from One Piece Color Walk 3 Lion: "Nothing hits the spot after cooking a meal like a good smoke. The sound of the waves arrives on the sea breeze. The gulls cry: squack, squack, oink, squack, squack, oink… Pigs?!"
Sanji looks cool in the foreground while Nami, Vivi, and Chopper clean up. Zoro, Usopp, and Luffy are too distracted by the pig-troopers to help (11 plates between the 7 of them, probably for Luffy's appetite). But who gave parachutes to pigs, and for what purpose? It makes such a fun picture!
The pigs, or maybe just the one with a top hat, are intelligent enough to wave hello to Usopp. Meanwhile, a pig behind them seems to be carrying a package. The reason for landing?
Luffy tried to be kind by feeding the pigs and birds with a bowl of food, but he's getting overwhelmed.
And Karoo is losing his mind in the background.

anon asked: Ok but imagine the strawhat pirates trying to prepare luffy for his first date
genre: fluff, gender neutral reader
im currenrly reposting a few old stories i wrote some time ago from my old blog!! REQUESTS ARE OPEN!!
the strawhat pirates preparing luffy for his first date:
Ok so first things first every single member probably thinks you are nuts for agreeing to go out with their captain, but when they saw how happy you and Luffy were when you agreed to spend some time together they just couldnt help but smile, trying their best since they know how dense their captain can be.
After Sanji finally calmed down and stopped crying because Luffy got a date and he didnt, he and Nami are willing to teach him how to fucking eat like a normal person (in case you are going out to eat) because the way Luffy just crams a bunch of food into his mouth is not quite pleasant, no matter if its in front of his crush or in front of them.
But lets be realistic, after one and a half hours both of them would just give up because there is no way Luffy will use a fork or spoon correctly.
Usopp is the one responsible for taking care that Luffy showers properly, even if it means he has to get into that damn shower by himself and scrub his whole body. I think its no secret that Luffy barely showers, because... water? and Luffy? Nope, not gonna happen.
Robin and Zoro are not really interfering, just watching the whole rigmalore in front of them and smiling to themselves. They both think there is no need to change the way their captain behaves since you agreed to go out with the huge dork, not with a forced gentlemen, but instead of calming them down they both just watch the whole crew make a fuss. Its kinda like Luffys friends are more excited about the date then he is.
Franky is already searching for the fake mustaches they wore at dressrosa in order to follow you discreetly, thinking that this will truely disguise them. Plot twist: It doesnt.
Brook and Chopper are trying to convince him to change in some more appropriate clothes, but there is no way Luffy would change. He is comfortable in what he is wearing and he probably doesnt even own anything different than his colored shirts and blue shorts.
At the end of the day every one of his crew members got exhausted because there is no freaking way their captain will change and will become a gentlemen in less then half a day. Thats probably when Robin finally speaks up and calms everyone down.
You are probably in your own room, not noticing how the other members harassed Luffy the whole evening over, just trying to get ready by yourself, already excited to explore the new island you landed on some hours earlier with Luffy. At some point Nami even barges into the room, looking quite exhausted, asking if you are 1000% sure to go out with the gummy boy. And you are just like... Yes?? You are sure. At least you think you are lol.
Nami is giving Luffy some extra money to spend on the island - which is a very very bad idea actually since he will lose it in no matter of time or spend it on complete bullshit. Thats probably the reason why she also gave you a bit more money than usually, knowing that Luffy will throw it out of the window and you have to pay for him, but you dont mind at all.
Five minutes after you both left the ship to go explore the island, Franky showed up with the beards and hats in order to follow you and take care that everything is going smoothly. But no way would Robin let them leave the ship, no matter how much they begged or tried to convince her. She would even use her devil fruit powers in order to keep the other strawhat pirates on their ship. She just wants to respect your and Luffys privacy.
No one of them knows how the date was. They just sat on the Sunny all day, wondering about all the scenarios that could happen.
After some hours they finally hear your and Luffys voices again, even though its just a muffled dialogue since you are currently talking in front of the ship instead of climbing up. Even Zoro became curious on how it went, every single one of them looking down and trying to peek on both of you, reading your faces. The only thing they saw though was how you gave Luffy a big smooch on his red cheeks, and him showing you the biggest gummismile he has, giggling slightly. Even you could tell how the tense atmosphere upstairs left immediately, everyone smiling down on both of you, happy it went well.

Straw Hats With A Suicidal! Shipmate
message @pixelkittycomet » Hi, I love your stories/scenarios. I has an idea for my one piece fan character, (this is a bit touchy so idk) but I was curious how do you think luffy and the straw hats would react if their y/n crew mate tried to take their own life? Like they caught them just in time or something? Sorry if it's too serious.
-
Hello! First of all, thank you. And second, I wasn’t sure if this was a request, I don’t think it is- and I also took a look at your character and I think it’s really good. Also, wasn’t sure if you wanted together or separate.
I won’t dwell too much into this topic, since it’s very sensitive. I also changed it up a little bit. I did do something similar to this before though.
WARNING : mentions of suicide, suicidal thoughts, methods of suicide, self-harm, etc.
PLEASE USE CAUTION! NEGATIVITY AHEAD! PLEASE BE CAREFUL! I WILL NOT BE WRITING ANYTHING LIKE THIS AGAIN, I hope.
-
Luffy
LUFFY wouldn’t quite understand. He’s never had to lose a loved one like this before..
“[Name]?.. what are you doing?”
The loud gasp that escapes your lips is heard as you snap up with wide eyes and turn around to face your Captain, who’s staring at you with eyes just as wide as yours.
“Why are your hands bleeding? Did you get hurt?” His clueless tone and the tilt of his head makes your heart pound against your chest, quickly shifting to hide your hands from his sight.
“Luffy!- blood? I, I don’t see any blood. I’m fine, really. Why are you here again?”
“I.. came to see what the noise of crying was coming from.” He mutters out almost inaudibly, his eyes widening by the second at the slow realization.
You, hiding your hands with teary, puffy red eyes and the bloody water filled sink.
The first thing Luffy felt was rage.
You, of all people, were thinking of doing something like this? What could be so horrible to take it this far and deliberately hurting yourself?
And why didn’t he see this sooner, so he could stop it?
But instead of lashing out at you, he lowers his head to hide his face, and slowly walks towards you, before eventually jumping at you, and lunging to wrap his arms around your body, forcing the two of you onto the floor.
With his tight embrace around you, Luffy leans into your ear and you were able to hear his weak voice to you.
“I’m sorry..for not noticing sooner.. so please..” his voice cracks and you sensed he was crying with his frail, trembling voice.
“Please don’t hurt yourself anymore..”
-
Nami
Nami wouldn’t even know how to react, she’s just stunned but once realization hits, genuine fear and panic flashes in her eyes and she’s yelling at you desperately.
The navigator was simply hoping to rest and relax in the aquarium lounge.
So when she walks through the door, she’s not expecting the sight of you trying to take your own life.
“W-What are you doing...?!”
Quick to react, Nami pulls out her Clima-Tact and fires a lightning bolt towards the suspended tied rope before you could even stick your head through the loop, successfully burning the rope.
“Nami! What are you doing here? Why’d you do that?!”
Hearing you made her scoff in disbelief, glaring at you through her quick teary eyes.
“You’re asking me why I did that?! Are you listening to yourself?!”
If you still didn’t listen and insisted on arguing, Nami doesn’t hesitate to slap some sense into you.
“HOW STUPID CAN YOU BE!?”
It would be silent as soon as she slapped you.
“I can’t believe you’d even think about this!”
Her voice is weak and she’s trembling, yet her cries and glares didn’t falter for a second.
Tears continue to stream down her face as she wipes them away, before she lunges herself at you.
“Are you trying to make us suffer by doing this?! Did you even care to think how we feel? How I’d feel?..”
Her lectures didn’t stop, even through her sobs.
“Don’t you.. EVER, think about doing this again! Okay?!.. just.. just come talk to me.. you idiot..”
-
Zoro
Zoro tends to yell because he doesn’t know how else to comfort or cope, and it’s just the stress he’s feeling from almost losing you.
The swordsman let out a heavy sigh as he climbs up to the crows nest after taking a quick break for a drink.
As soon as his head pops up through the little door to enter, he’s startled to find you, playing with one of his swords.
Specifically, the Wado Ichimonji.
Though, perhaps “playing” wasn’t the correct term. Either way, the sight of you angling it towards your neck to slice was something that instilled pure paralyzation and shock into him.
“What..-“ Zoro sprung into action, immediately jumping to push the sword away from you, shoving you away and onto the couch of the crows nest.
The impact forced into you from the shove made you grunt, knocking the air out of your lungs as you peer up at your assailant.
“Zoro? What are you doing?!”
“That’s my line, dumbass! What the hell was that just now?! Huh?! Were you really planning on taking your own damn life here?!”
“Shut it! You have no idea what I was planning!” You retort and Zoro scoffs. “I think I had a pretty good idea.”
“Tch. Even then, it’s not your problem!-”
“Of course it’s my fucking problem, [Name]!” That shut you up.
Zoro let out a deep breath and stared at you with his piercing eyes.
“Did you even think about how the people on this ship would feel? If they saw you doing something like this?.. what about Luffy? Did you give a damn about how our dear captain would react if his precious crew member, that he took the time to know and recruit to his crew, took their own life without an explanation?”
You didn’t say anything. You felt the tears brimming your eyes at him but you couldn’t say anything.
“Damn it, [Name]..” The swordsman looks down, shadow casted over his eyes and the clenched fists he had made his nails dig into his skin, veins forming.
Eventually, he slowly relaxes and walks to you, seeing your teary eyes and knelt down in front of you.
“Don’t fucking do this again, okay?.. please.. please don’t leave me alone like this...”
-
Sanji
Sanji would burst into tears the instant he realized it, all the regret and pain burying itself into him for not noticing your pain. He’ll beg you to stop. But he’ll definitely be yelling / comforting too.
The chef who wakes early to get started on breakfast for the day, whistles a quiet tune while brushing away the morning drowsiness.
And due to his exhaustion, when he opens the kitchen door, he doesn’t believe his eyes at first, but a quick second glance lets him know it’s real.
Seeing you, standing over the sink with a common kitchen knife ready to cut. Definitely not vegetables.
“[N-Name]-chan... what..”
The panicked expression you held while you snapped your head up towards him made his heart break.
“Sanji! You’re up early..” Sanji watches as you frantically move to hide the knife and rinse your hands, as if you were merely washing up.
“I just thought I’d help you out a little bit is all! Since you’re here, let’s get started, yeah?” You let out a awkward, nervous laugh and turn off the water.
Sanji felt tears brimming his eyes when he realized just what you were about to do. “[Name]-chan.. were you.. just..”
He’s in utter shock and disbelief, the pained look his eyes held made your heart sink to your stomach at the sight.
“How can you do this? What happened? What made you even think of doing this?”
Sanji didn’t hesitate to rush to you, grabbing you by your shoulders and tightening his grip. “Tell me, [Name]! How can you go so far as to attempt to do this?!”
Tears are cascading down his cheeks rapidly, before he pulls you into his chest in a tight embrace.
“Please don’t lose value in your life like this, [Name]-chan.. you deserve to live.. don’t take this for granted..”
Sanji can feel his shirt start to get wet but he didn’t care, rubbing your back and hiding his teary face. “Whatever it is you’re suffering from, i will help you through it. I promise.”
-
Usopp
Usopp would be frozen and panicking in the spot, before shouting at you with pleas and blabbers, before forcing you by tackling you to the ground.
Seeing you standing on the edge of the railing catches the sniper off guard. He was simply leaving his room to go to the bathroom when he sees you.
The moonlight is shining down on your form, and if Usopp wasn’t so concerned and didn’t have a sinking feeling at the sight of you, he might’ve thought you were a goddess.
“[Name]? What are you doing up? Get down before you fall!”
Upon being deeply lost in thought, you barely heard Usopp’s voice but managed to catch it.
You turn around to face the sniper and you offer a weak, teary smile which startles the poor guy. “..Usopp.. I should ask you that.”
Instead of responding, he widens his eyes and runs over. “Hey, were you crying?.. why? What’s wrong, [Name]? Should I go wake the others? Or chopper?” He was internally panicking.
“I’m fine.” You cut him off and turn back to the sea, shifting your weight as your smile fades and you stare at the water below you solemnly.
“Can I ask you a question?”
Usopp, surprised, nonetheless nods and leans against the railing beside you, still hoping you’d come down.
“Usopp... will you.. let me die?.. will you kill me?”
Silence.
Frozen.
His body froze. His mind blanked. His blood stopped circulating. Nothing could be heard but the ocean waves washing around the sea.
Immediately, Usopp did the first thing that came to mind and ran at you, wrapping his arms tightly around your legs to prevent you from what he assumed was jumping.
“STOP! I WON’T EVER DO THAT! DON’T SAY STUPID THINGS LIKE THIS! HOW CAN YOU SAY THIS AFTER EVERYTHING WE BEEN THROUGH TOGETHER?! PLEASE DON’T DO THIS, [NAME]!”
Loud sobs were quick to escape the sniper’s mouth as snot and tears cascades down his face, roughly pulling you and tackling you down to the ship’s deck so you weren’t on the railing anymore.
“Agh- Usopp—“
“PLEASE DON’T EVER THINK THIS WAY AGAIN! I...” Usopp stares down at you before shutting his eyes tightly, tears flowing nonstops, his grip around you unmoving, as if he was afraid you’d disappear if he let go.
“I don’t know what I’d do without you..”
-
Chopper
Chopper would be screaming and sobbing endlessly, hugging your leg as his desperate pleas reach your ears.
Humming a sweet tune, with a carton of milk in his hoofs, the little doctor steps into his medical office and instantly, his once bright smile drops into a look of horror.
“[NAME]!”
Milk tossed aside, Chopper is quick to come bouncing by you slouched over, a half-empty flask of a green liquid in hand and your shallow breathing behind heard.
“Ch..Chopper.. hi..”
The little reindeer has pure fear lit in his eyes as he takes the flask from your hands and looks to see what’s in it.
“Why did you touch this?! This is a dangerous chemical, [Name]!” Chopper panics, fumbling through his book to find a quick antidote, ignoring your weak protests.
How could you go through his things and drink the deadly chemical?!
“Chopper, stop..”
The little doctor wasn’t listening, tears blocking his vision as he tried to read the words and began mixing some of his liquids together to begin working.
“This,.. and this.. no, this isn’t right-! Where’s Traffy when I need him!?” Chopper cries as he frantically mixes the liquid, eyes flashing towards you in worry.
You didn’t say anything, closing your eyes and felt sweat forming on your forehead and felt your temperature raising.
Weakly, you manage to wrap your arms around Chopper’s little body and hugged him like a stuffed animal.
“Thank you, Chopper... I appreciate it.. but.. I’m fine.”
“[Name]...”
Choked sobs slipped from his mouth as he grips the flask tightly, persistent in finding the cure for you.
The chemical you took wasn’t completely unknown but it was still foreign enough to Chopper that he didn’t know how long you had or how deadly it even was.
“I’m not giving up. I don’t want you to die! I don’t know or care what brought you to do something as drastic as this. But YOU’RE MY FRIEND! and I don’t want you to leave me alone!”
“So please... don’t die, [Name]..”
-
Franky
The silence Franky has is painful, he’s feeling mixed emotions at the thought of losing someone dear to him again. He’s angry, clearly but he doesn’t yell at you. Instead, he shares his thoughts.
The cyborg stare solemnly, his sharp eyes boring right into your slouched, teary, and sobbing figure.
The blade that was once in your hands was now discarded, unused and forgotten. Franky made sure of that last second.
He walks up to you, looming over you from behind as he pulls out a tissue with his mini hand and holds it out for you to take, still keeping silent since he came in.
You eased your sobs a bit and muttered a quiet gratitude before taking the tissue. You weren’t sure what Franky was thinking and honestly, you weren’t sure if you wanted to know.
“..feeling better?”
A startled pause came from you as you froze for a second before relaxing and nodding. “..yeah.”
“Good.”
“Franky.. I-“
“I don’t need to know.”
Interrupting you, Franky continues to look at you before going around and sitting on the ground in front of your form so you would face him.
“I don’t know why you did this. I don’t need to know either, but if you want to tell me, I’ll listen. However, I won’t apologize for what I did just now, I won’t ever let you hurt yourself like that when I’m here.”
You stay quiet, letting Franky continue but his words are enough to make you start tearing up again.
“A life is not a choice. You should value it and keep living for the ones you love and for the ones that love you. Everyone on this ship is a loved one that cares about you and I’m sure you’re aware of that, but you must’ve forgotten. It’s okay to forget that though, because I’ll be here to remind you. Understand? No one on this ship wants you to do this ever. We love you more than you know.”
Wiping the shedding tears that continue to escape, you peer up at Franky and see him offering a genuine, assuring smile.
“So don’t do this again and live. You got an amazingly crafted and you are part of this SUPER~ pirate crew, the Straw Hats!”
-
Robin
Even if this has nothing to do with her whatsoever, Robin will never forget nor live down the guilt and regret of letting you even thinking about doing something like this.
Unable to sleep, the archaeologists was simply resting on her lawn chair on the upper deck, where her beautiful flowers laid.
Robin, resting her eyes as the sunset settles in the bay of the ocean, slowly disappearing. However, the quiet patter of footsteps creaking onto the upper deck made her open her eyes.
With one glance, Robin was able to see your figure quietly heading to a particular area of the garden, which was Usopp’s large plants, and also a view blocker.
Robin furrows her brows and quietly sat up, crossing her arms and shut her eyes, quickly forming a pair of eyes near you.
The sight of you hunched over, plucking at one of Usopp’s plants makes her eyes widen as she quickly sprouts arms.
“Cinco Fleur!”
Instantly, two pairs of arms formed and forcefully grabbed your wrists apart, a third pulling Usopp’s plant away from you and two more forcing you to back up.
“What the hell?!” You curse and struggled in the movement. “Robin?!”
“[Name]! What are you doing messing with Usopp’s poisonous plants?”
The historian shows herself to you as she continues to hold you in a bind, so you wouldn’t move. The pained and confused expression on her face almost makes you feel guilty, for you withheld.
“Poisonous? O-Oh, I had no idea. I thought they were vegetables!— Anyways why are you awake at this time??”
“I should be asking you that, picking vegetables at this hour?..” Robin mutters skeptically, tilting her head as her expression saddens.
“Don’t tell me you were...”
The turn of your head and avoidance of her gaze let her know your true intentions and she can almost hear her heart breaking.
“why?..”
You didn’t say anything and clenched your fists tightly, shutting your eyes and ignored the fact that she had released you.
“I’m sorry, Robin.. I can’t do this anymore..”
“To go this far? I didn’t think..” she continues to trail off, her eyes quickly becoming glassy and lost, painful memories of her own suicidal thoughts arising.
Robin sinks down to her knees and brings her hands to her face, tears brimming her eyes. “I don’t want you to do this, [Name].. you deserve so much and.. I want to keep seeing you on this ship.. I’m sorry.. I want you to keep living but I caused you to..”
Guilt became overbearing and you ran to her aside, engulfing her in a tight embrace, sniffling your own tears.
“Don’t, I’m sorry. For doing something so stupid with my life...”
Robin exhales gently and wipes her tears, looking up at you. “Say it.. please?”
You offer a small, genuine smile and nod.
“I want to live... I mean it.”
-
Brook
Brook feels great pain and sorrowful memories run through his mind, the thought of losing more precious people to him breaks his nonexistent heart.
The undead musician exits the bath, a towel wrapped around his hip bone to cover his lower regions and a towel tied around his hair at the top.
“Ah~ another refreshing wash from the bath.. I wonder how it’ll feel to bathe in a tub of milk.”
Brook’s walk was cut short as he notices you, attempting something quite dangerous that not even Luffy would try. Yet, something about it was familiar.
His eye sockets widen as he runs over. “[Name]-san!” Hearing the familiar voice, your startled self drops the object and it shatters instantly.
“Brook! You scared me!”
“Apologies... may I ask you what you were doing with that?..” Brook carefully asks, taking note of every action you made. He could feel how serious this seemed.
You bit your lip and turn away, kneeling down to pick up the pieces. “Nothing.. I just...”
‘Ah... I see.’
Distracted, you nearly jump when a few phalanges grab a hold of your wrist.
Brook’s tight grip forced your hold on the shattered pieces to release as he pulls it away and pulled you away from the mess.
“...” Even if you didn’t tell him, Brook already had a pretty good idea. He wasn’t stupid after all, his own crewmates often did similar things and it costed them their lives.
However, he could tell yours was intentional.
“Your life means more than you think.”
The skeleton spoke this as he begins to lead you to Chopper’s office, noticing you had cut your hand a bit.
“I don’t understand why anyone would take their own life deliberately like so.. no matter what the possible reason could be.. nothing is worth the attempt to take a life so precious, that you only have one of..”
Silence overtook you as you take in his words, feeling a swarm of emotions filling you inside.
“I won’t ask what’s going on but know that I and everyone else is always willing to listen...”
Outside Chopper’s office, Brook stops and turns to look down at you.
“[Name]-san. I’m sure you remember my backstory, right?”
You weakly nod, avoiding his gaze which he didn’t mind.
“Then you know that I am actually dead. However, I didn’t choose to die. Life chose for me.. and even with this devil fruit, I am given another chance at life, but at a cost.”
Tears were finally escaping you, silent sniffles being heard here and there as you continue to listen to him.
“Lives are not something to be taken lightly, and even if I am actually dead, I don’t regret this chance and am taking this opportunity to do better and I’m happier too. I’m with a new crew and family who I will protect and take care of, even if I die again to do so. You are one of them I will die for, if I have to.”
“[Name]-san.”
By then, you were a teary mess but that didn’t stop you from looking up at the tall musician as he offers his teethy smile.
“Remember. Your life means so much more than you think, hold more value for it. If you want to talk, I’m always here to listen and if you want a little song, I’m always happy to oblige.”
You muster up a weak smile through your tears as you nod and wrapped your arms around him tightly and gratefully.
“Thank you, Brook..”
His arms wrap around your smaller figure as he leans down more, smile softening as he chuckles.
“Yohohoho~! of course, any time.”

A/N : sorry this took so long, hun. Hope you still can see this when it posted it. I’m also sorry if it’s not great or what you expected.

One Piece: Strawhat Ansgt Headcanons
♡This is my Strawhat angst headcanons. Don't like 'em? Leave ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
♡This non-angst headcanons are here
WARNINGS: Dark themes, angst, mention of character death, derealization, cursing, trauma, spoilers
♡Luffy: Because of watching their brother, Ace, die in their arms he has PTSD, severe depression, and he does have episodes where he detaches from reality and thinks his surroundings aren't real (derealization). Jinbei will help him cope with his depression and derealization episodes sometimes. He touches his scars a lot, exspecially the one on his chest
♡Zoro: He is highly afraid of his friends and crew members dying, that is why he always thinks he needs to be stronger. So he can protect his friends. He cannot handle the anxiety of losing his friends and a few of his coping mechanisms are sleeping so he doesn't have to think about it and training so he is focusing on something other than the horrible thoughts that come to his mind. On rare occasions he will wake up in a cold sweat because he had a nightmare about what happened back at the Sabaody Archipelago (Arc)
♡Nami: She is afraid that something like the past will happen to hear or her friends so she tries to keep everyone safe in her own ways. She does have PTSD because her past and because of what Arlong did to her mother, her village, and her mentally and physically. Usopp and Luffy will help her cope with episodes she has and try to keep her spirits and tell her they won't let anything like that ever happen to her again
♡Usopp: He is very insecure of himself and how he is perceived by the world, they don't want to be a burden to others and have them clean up their mess. He is afraid his crew will leave him if he made a mistake or not be seen as manly (Water 7 Arc). He has improved on his state of mind and physical well-being...but you can never stop the horrible thoughts that will come from the back of your brain and remind you of horrible things you have done. Nami will usually help him with these hard times and remind him of all the good he has done for the crew and how they can't move on without him
♡Sanji: After the Whole Cake Island Arc he will get reoccurring nightmares about how he was a kid, locked up in a cage, tortured by his brothers and father. He will sometimes cry, Zoro will usually accompany him in these times and let him ramble on about it, cry, stay silent, or even fall asleep on him. Luffy will let him take a break from cooking so he can get some actual sleep and let Nami or Robin cook for the time being if that's what he wants. He doesn't usually let others see how tired he is of doing anything so Luffy and Zoro both have to pressure him to take a break and enjoy the sun or being pampered by everyone a little bit
♡Chopper: Chopper's anxiety used to be really high but after being with the Strawhats he has learned he doesn't need to go by societies rules and can be whoever he wants to be. He usually sleeps in due to his insomnia and tries to make up for it by taking care of the crew while hes awake. He makes sure everyone feels welcome so they don't have to feel like he did when he first ate his devil fruit
♡Robin: She is a bit afraid of not being wanted but after Water 7 (Arc) they have come to the realization that she is truly wanted somewhere safe from her past and the feeling of being hung by the neck if she did anything wrong. She is grateful for such a place as being with the Strawhats and Luffy especially so she will protect him at all cost so she can keep the man who told her to say that she wanted to live to fulfill his wish and become the Pirate King
♡Franky: He is afraid of his closest loved ones dying so he will continue to upgrade himself so he can protect those he loves from harms way. In the beginning he was to afraid to really be close with the Strawhats because he didn't want them to end up like Tom, dying to save his life. He misses Tom dearly but is grateful for his close ones still being alive
♡Brook: Even though they joke about how they are already dead, he is still very afraid of death, as this is his last chance at surviving. He will get depressed about life and how he has left his past crew mates behind but will keep reminding himself he has the Strawhats and needs to see Laboon again
♡Jinbei: Sometimes he feels as if Queen Otohime's death was his fault and how Nami suffered a great deal because he let Arlong loose. He will try not to show it but he is an emotional person, so he will occasionally say sorry to Nami and she will continue to forgive him as she knows he still needs to grow from his slight traumatic past. He is grateful to have such another caring crew. They don't let people judge him for how he looks or acts because they will smash a couple of bitches who hurt his feelings in any way
♡I'm sorry if this is a bit shitty but I have been holding this off for about 2 days so here take this :)

It’s hard doing this on my own...
Summary: You’ve gone into another Depressive state...This time. It’s far more violent than the last Depressive spell.
Warning(s): TRIGGERING CONTENT ABOUT EXTREME DEPRESSIVE EPISODES! DO NOT READ IF YOUR NOT COMFORTABLE! Ends with fluff. No gifs.
Word count: 2.9k+
A/N: I’m ok.
Luffy has always known you were...Different, than the others. Sure, everybody in the crew went through some tough times in their past but, they made up for that time to make them and their friends smile more. You however...Struggled with genuinely smiling these days again.
It concerned him how distant and emotionless you became. You kept yourself locked away inside that room, to protect the others from being hurt or feeling guilty...All he saw was that you were locked away in a Cage of Sadness that he couldn’t seem to pull you out of no matter how hard he tried too.
Tonight was no exception to his daily routine. He placed the food that Sanji had made on the floor so you could grab it whenever you were ready, then sat down beside your door on the floor of the ship. “Y/n-san...Dinner’s here....” He said loud enough for you to hear, but not enough to startle you.
Nothing....Just silence.
He waited for a few more minutes before getting worried that you weren’t opening the door for the food, but before his worry could worsen. Your door slightly opened wide enough to drag the tray back in...He wanted to see your face again...He missed it. he missed /you/. Shockingly enough, you /didn’t/ close the door after grabbing the food. Which confused him to say the least because you never allowed him to see you So Sad.
“Y/n-san?” he called out, stepping up to walk into the room, only to pause when he sees you...So....Hurt. It hurt /him/ seeing you like this. His body moved on it’s own and he hugged you tightly, quite literally wrapping his arms around your body.
You didn’t do anything...No smiles, no tears....Nothing.
That worried him.
“Y-Y/n-san?...” He calls out to you as he still held you. You looked up at him with dead, red eyes from crying so much before now. “Sorry...Luffy...” You weakly started then gave an expressionless chuckle that lacked any kind of excitement, worrying him further, “I can’t feel anything....”
That hit him like a two ton truck. “Can’t feel anything?” What did that mean? Was his hug not working?...He hugged tighter...No real response other than a grunt from being hugged tighter., It didn’t irritate you. It was just uncomfortable and hard to breath properly. Luffy got sad when you didn’t show any response towards his hugs like you used too. So he let go to let you breath better. “You can’t.....Feel anything y/n-san??” He asked again as he held your face, staring dead in your emotionless, empty eyes.
“No....Sorry....” You simply responded, only feeling his hands /slightly/ on your face. Luffy frowned, he was confused on why you were so numb and emotionless now. Was it the Depression you mentioned before? Or was somebody taking your feelings from you against your will? All he could do was sigh and then lift you up bridal style, it hurt not seeing you get flustered about it, but instead, look limp and dead-like in his arms. You seemed a lot more heavier than he expected as well.
He went to chopper, asking for help on what to do, the whole crew was there with you as you just...Quietly sat on the chair you were placed on, and stared at the floor while absorbing everything in. “She’s broken?...” Luffy asked, confused on how you could be broken “Well...Not exactly....But, it’ll take a VERY long time for them to gain their feelings back to normal....They’re hurting.” Choppers words affected the crew, as they were all friends with you. But more importantly, Luffy was affected the most since he was your boyfriend.
Several months later, Luffy did his hardest to try and make your life just a little bit easier for you. Protecting you during battles. making sure the crew respected your wishes when it came to privacy. Making sure that you ate and slept a healthy amount of each thing so you wouldn’t hurt yourself anymore than you were.
The crew was celebrating another Team-Up mission with the Heart Pirates, they knew that Law was a Doctor so, they confirmed that you did in fact, have Severe Depression...And it started getting REALLY bad over time, but that a shift was going to change after a while. Which surprised Luffy to say the least but, he didn’t force you to change for anything.
You were off in your own corner with Zoro, as the two of you had gotten to be close friends before your Depressive state. Luffy was sitting with the two of you since he’s gotten fairly protective over you, over the last several months. You just drinking some Tea and had some of your favorites out of this feast that Sanji and the Heart’s crew had prepared for everybody, minding your own business as you absorbed everything.
You felt....Lighter...MUCH lighter than before...It’s not 100% happiness but, it’s /something/ to say the least. Zoro saw the slight shine that came back to your eyes for a split second, but didn’t comment on it and just left you be. Meanwhile, Luffy was reenacting his fight with a recent enemy that was super strong, you listened in every now and then, but heard that Luffy nearly got killed.
That worried you...Your face warped in concern but, went away fairly quick when he said that he managed to make it out somewhat alright thanks to the crew. You were thankful for them keeping him alive. He was your boyfriend after all.
Your boyfriend........
Your Boyfriend.....
The thought of the fact that you nearly lost your boyfriend to an enemy hit you like a two ton truck. You sat there deadpanned, but you felt something Wet falling down your cheeks. You didn’t move or say anything. Luffy paused when he heard a faint sniffle from your throat...You were crying.
He started to panic, wondering why you were crying all of a sudden. You rubbed your face and held up a hand to make him pause, “I...I’m ok....I’m ok...” You repeated, “How are you ok y/n-san!? Your crying!” he yelled, worried that his story may have triggered you into a relapse. Once you started calming down, you chuckled, albeit it was very soft and awkward, “Sorry...I’m Sorry...It’s just...The thought of losing my boyfriend got me more upset than my Depression that I started crying...” You admitted, now shocking Luffy and the crew that could hear you.
Luffy paused, somewhat stunned by you just admitting that outright...”Y/n-san?...” he asked while waiting for a response from you...You weren’t exactly back to normal, but the very, /very/ small smile you gave was Bright enough for him to notice that you were coming back from being so numb for so long. Luffy was ecstatic to say the least. Even if your smile was small and awkward. You still /smiled/ after so long of being unable too.
Luffy shouted your name out when he flung into your lap, startling you, which caught /everybody’s attention/ this time and turned to see what was happening. Much to their surprise. There you were. Giving a soft smile as your boyfriend hugged you tightly, keeping you close to him. The crew sighed in relief that you were starting to express emotions again.
----------------------------------
Sanji was always in-tune with your emotions. He could sense that something would be eating at you before you even mentioned it, he made himself become synced with your emotions so that way he could be there for you in any way possible, even if it’s for a short time.
However, when your too quiet and distant. He can’t really do much to help you out. He can’t guess what your feeling that day because you’re avoiding him and the others. He can’t be there for you for emotional support if you’re not willing to accept it from him.
Soon enough. After a couple of months of realizing this familiar pattern of yours, he knew what was up. He knew that you were having yet another Really Bad Depressive episode again...Only this time, it seemed to be FAR worse than what happened the last time. Lasting a longer time than usual...It affected him quite a lot. He felt guilty that he couldn’t hold you or kiss you goodnight/good morning. He couldn’t so much as see your face because you refused to let him see this Ugly Demon of yours.
Today was different. It felt off to him. He couldn’t quite put his finger on it but, while he was out shopping for food supplies on this small Island with the others. Nami had left YOU to take care of the ship. Sanji had to force Usopp to stay behind and help in case the ship got attacked while they were gone.
“--anji-kun??” Nami called out, “SANJI-KUN!!” She yelled, snapping him out of his worried trance over you. “H-Huh?? Sorry..What were you saying??” he asked, snapping back to reality. Nami could only groan in irritation, sighing as she rubbed her face. “Look. If your that worried about y/n-san. Then go back to the ship. Give me your grocery list and I’ll do the shopping for you.” She says while shooing him.
You weren’t expecting to be outside of your room...But it’s not like it was your fault to begin with. You gave an irritated scowl as the guy held you in his bigger arms, practically choking you in the process. You were being used as a hostage to calm down Usopp, and hopefully lure out the other Straw Hats to collect their bounties and turn them in.
“Right...We’ll be taking this lovely lady as well with your treasure...” The guy starts off, but saw that Usopp was about to fight back, so he held out a gun to your head and chuckled. “Don’t even try anything...You move, this girl gets her head blown off.” He threatens before going into a chuckle fit. You looked up at him with your expressionless eyes, a smile was there but, it was creepy. “Sure...go ahead and kill me....But, I don’t think you got the stomach to handle that.” You teased, giving out a small Pfftt sound effect afterwards when he cringed and released you, just letting you fall on your knees.
“Y-Y/n-san! Don’t give him any ideas!!” Usopp shouted, scared for you. All you could do was sigh sadly, “As I thought...” You paused to look up, “You didn’t have the guts to shoot...” You teased again, making the Pirate Hunter flinch again and re-point the gun at you face in point-blank range. “Creepy girl.” He insulted.
But before he could shoot, his head got kicked in and his aim barely missed your head. You sat there, wide-eyed when you saw your boyfriend Sanji, He looked angry as he was literally on fire. You then saw his face up close when he started to fight the other guys, kicking them off the ship or sending them flying into the deeper part of the ocean. By the time he was done, the main leader of the Pirate Hunters had been placed underneath his foot, Sanji was holding his face there, you could see the other guy’s face warping in fear for his own life
Sanji then lifted his leg up, and then a loud /thump/ rang in your ear. he crushed the guy’s skull in, killing him right in front of you. “DON’T EVEN THINK ABOUT HURTING /MY/ Y/N-SAN!” He screamed, which made the last remaining few of the Pirate hunters run for it, jumping overboard as they panicked in fear from Black-Leg Sanji.
You stayed still. Shocked as to what exactly had happened. You were about to be killed while you were Depressed....You /wanted it/..You /craved it/....But even so, the feeling of being rescued by your boyfriend...Overwhelmed you. You stayed still and started to cry out loud, startling Sanji out of his anger-trance to go to you and hold you tightly. At first, you didn’t do anything. But after a while, the crying got worse, you clung to him for dear life.
You /wanted to die/...But even so...Being saved by him made you thankful for the save he just did. “T-Thank you Sanji!! I....I thought I w-was gonna...Gonna die!” You panicked, somewhat yelling within your hiccupped sobs. Sanji kept you close and did his best to calm you down from your meltdown, cooing you as he ignored Usopp and his surroundings. “I’m just glad that your feeling better y-y/n-san...” He says, knowing that you weren’t 100% there but, you were alive regardless.
---------------------------
Despite how Zoro is. He instantly knew that you weren’t.../There/ mentally for the last while the first minute he saw that you hadn’t woken up with him in his bed this time.
This time however....Had gotten pretty bad. A lot of your old habits started showing themselves but, they seemed to be doubled over time. At first he decided to just....Leave you be, in case if you just needed the time to yourself so that way you can focus on getting better. But...Over time when this started to become a constant with your routine. That’s when his panic really started to kick in.
Today marked the 34th day that you kept in your room. Sure, you’d peak out for food and something to drink or snack on, but that was way in the beginning. It’s been three weeks since you barely showed up. Zoro paced back and forth in front of your room, softly mumbling to himself on what he should do. Should he knock on the door? No, that’d startle you..Should he just barge in if it’s unlocked? No..You’d probably hate him if he did that..What if you were blacked out? Or sick? oR DEAD!? “Zoro....If you keep pacing back and forth like that...It won’t fix anything...” Nami said in a worried tone of voice, seeing her friend pace back and forth with worry. Zoro only scoffed and shooed her out. so he could focus on helping you somehow.
Suddenly, a loud /thump/ echoed your room when he listened in, that was enough to get him to just slam the door open in a frenzy, worried out of his god damn mind on what was happening. “Y/n!?” He called out....Nothing. he looked around your small room and noticed that it was a complete disaster. it seemed like you had fought somebody in here. he clicked his tongue, disappointed in himself for being unable to be there during one of your meltdowns when you needed him most.
He paused when he saw your body on the ground, panicking, he started calling out your name loudly. You weren’t dead...Thank god. But you were very weak...Too weak. Zoro yelled to get the other crew member’s attention as he lifted up your weakened body. You were breathing but, it was heavy. “The hell happened??” He asked, feeling a sense of guilt start to wash over, before he moved further though, he felt something tap against his boot. “A bottle?” he turned it over so he could get the label and read it’s content.
He couldn’t fully read it properly but, he got enough of an idea that it completely shocked him. Before the others had arrived, he rushed with your limp body to Chopper’s “office” so he could check up on what was happening with you from a professional...He had an idea but, he didn’t want to assume either.
“Y/n was trying to overdose on something.” Chopper said bluntly while looking at the content from the blood he took from you. He sighed and noticed that it was a medicine that he used to numb his patience when they need severe stitches. “But...They’ll be ok....Luckily you caught them just in time Zoro. Anymore of this could’ve killed them.” Zoro didn’t say much. he just thanked Chopper for the hard work and patted his head gently.
It took a while for you to get back to normal after that night. You felt extremely guilty and kept apologizing to both Zoro and the rest of the crew for what you tried to do. At first, they where angry but after a while, they understood what you were going through and left you alone. Zoro on the other hand, was NOT happy....Not one bit. He wasn’t /livid/ either but, he wasn’t too pleased with what he saw. The scene of him finding your nearly dead body kept playing in his mind. he was terrified of losing you, so terrified that it actually scared him.
Eventually though, you and Zoro were able to talk a little less awkwardly now. The two of you stayed in the workout room just talking about random stuff. A small silence filled the air after a while...You sighed, rubbing the back of your head awkwardly. “...Thank you...” You say quietly, but loud enough for Zoro to hear. “...For saving me that night...” After hearing you thank him for saving you. At first, he wanted to be petty and make you sit in that guilt for a bit.
But after a short few moment, he caved in and wrapped his arms around you tightly. You didn’t say anything but, you could tell he was upset, as he shivered a bit within the hug. “Don’t ever do that again y/n...” He starts off then paused to inhale, “If you need to talk to somebody. I’m here. I’ll always be here.” he lets go so that way he can kiss your forehead and put you on his lap to cuddle you again. “I can’t stand the thought of you not being by my side.” he admits, which really warmed your heart.
You sighed and patted his head gently, “...I promise to turn to you from now on.” You say as the two of you cuddled then fell asleep in each others arms.

Hi Jonny! Now that you're caught up, please once again rank the strawhats' backstories in terms of how much they hurt you T^T You didnt include Luffy the last time I think
yeah! last time was... just after thriller bark, i think. couldn’t find my old post to consult, so we’re starting from scratch but with everybody this time. obligatory this is just my personal experience and opinion, everybody is going to have different emotional reactions to different things.
1. nami: since the last time i made this list i watched the anime version of arlong park for the first time, and like... it really hit me. i felt like i got gut punched. also i recently wrote some fanfic about nami’s backstory too which just made me think about how badly she suffered and how strong she had to be, which also made me cry some more. anyways, i love nami.
2. robin: robin’s backstory still holds the esteem of being the first strawhat backstory to make me cry real tears. in the middle of a school day, no less.
3. brook: yeah.
4. sanji: even setting aside the fact that sanji’s initial backstory hit me so hard it was one of the first things to really hook me into the manga’s story (together with zoro’s duel with mihawk), everything about him and the vinsmokes in the first half of whole cake island was so upsetting for me that it like, genuinely detracted from my enjoyment of the arc until things started brightening up.
5. chopper: chopper is one i don’t think i properly appreciated when i first read it, because drum island as a whole was a really difficult arc for me reading comprehension-wise, but. he was just a baby? he was little baby? and he accidentally helped kill his dad? i’m sad.
6. franky: chopper and franky are really about even in my mind, in terms of tragedy, but eventually i decided rank franky a little lower because he got a lot more time with his family and didn’t lose tom until he was an adult. though i still am VERY emotional about tom’s workers they were a FAMILY.
7. luffy: luffy would probably be a lot higher if i hadn’t already known while reading his backstory that sabo was going to live. don’t get me wrong, his flashback still hits like a bus and i am very :((, but i can’t place him higher than any of the others i think.
8. jinbe: it’s not that the fishman island flashback isn’t sad, because it absolutely is, it’s sheer multilayered tragedy, but, uh. i didn’t really... register it was also jinbe’s backstory flashback until a friend of mine actually pointed it out. the focus is all on otohime and fisher tiger. so despite the fact that it’s super sad and well-told, i feel like i can’t rank it any higher than this as strawhat backstories go, if that makes sense.
9. usopp: usopp barely has a backstory- which makes sense, given he’s basically the everyman of the crew and has never even left his island before meeting the crew. the loss of his mom and the justification it provides for his actions is still sad, but it’s also very everyday and unavoidable, and only really gets a couple pages dedicated to it.
10. zoro: zoro’s backstory comes too early and ends too fast to really hit, i think, especially because even within the flashback everything seems so sudden. i think some of this is just oda’s early style, but in any case i’m so sorry, kuina, you deserved better.

Ok so I've been going back through your blog and I found the jewel that is the parent headcannons.
I was wondering how Luffy would react if he found a baby in a basket drifting by in the water while he was stuck on an abandoned Island. And then how the crew would react to finding their captian with a baby. Maybe having Usopp as a cool uncle?
I love it. This is kind of long so the rest is under the cut off. Also I’m genuinely touched that you’re looking back through my blog.
- Okay so Luffy is obviously such a soft soul, so if he finds an abandoned baby, he’s gonna keep it. Probably
-I mean he’s gonna do everything he can do to find its parent because children should be with their families, and Luffy’s understanding of familial bonds is incredibly strong.
-If he can’t find anyone to claim this baby or someone else to care for this kid, he’ll take on the challenge.
-It’d be a god damn nightmare at first, like how this kid survived is a miracle honestly. It’s not that he’s not trying, but firstly in this scenario, he’s all alone and he’s barely twenty-one years old. Also, his own childhood was pretty messy so...
-I think it takes him about a week to get the hang of things and he spends a lot of his time thinking about Robin and what she would do in his shoes. He also thinks of Dadan and what she might say. Robin is more motherly than Dadan, but who better to think than his own mother.
-This does make him feel... lonely. Having this baby and being a pseudo father make him miss his crew, his brothers, and Dadan. Luffy misses his Grandpa. After a bit of a depressive slump, and having like a three-month-old baby he feels better and gets his shit together.
-When the crew does actually find him, Luffy is attached to this baby. In every sense of the word, this baby is now his kid. The crew is concerned, to say the least.
-The first thing they assume is that Luffy stole someone's kid. Lu is so happy to see his crew that he doesn’t even care about their accusations. He insists that Chopper take a look at his baby. Chopper has a hard time giving the baby a check-up because of Luffy’s anxious hovering.
-The crew does try to convince Luffy to drop that kid off at an orphanage or something but it’s too late. I’d like to think Luffy gets really emotional over this. He starts to cry a little and tells the crew that he can’t lose any more family, and this baby has never had a family.
-The crew does eventually come around of course, because Luffy always gets what he wants, especially when he cries. Nami is still skeptical that this kid wasn’t stolen.
-Usopp and Franky love kids so they warm up to the baby pretty quickly. Usopp is a little nervous to hold the baby at first and panics when it starts crying when he holds ‘em. Franky holding that baby makes Robins's heart melt, just a little bit. Brook is also on the baby train. It’s in his nature to make children happy, especially with music. It makes him feel very nostalgic.
-Honestly, Sanji and Zoro are not super stoked about this whole baby thing. Sanji doesn’t mind kids, it’s just they live a dangerous lifestyle and Luffy is pretty difficult to handle.
-Zoro on the other hand is great with kids, despite not enjoying them much. Furthermore his boyfriend suddenly just has this random kid. What’s he supposed to do with that? Then again... that baby makes Luffy so happy. Zoro may or may not start being one of the only crew members that can get the baby to fall asleep.

Ok but imagine the strawhat pirates trying to prepare luffy for his first date
Wait this is hilarious
You are probably in the girls room, not noticing how the other members harassed Luffy the whole evening over, just trying to get ready by yourself, already excited to explore the new island you landed on some hours earlier with Luffy.

Hi, could you do the straw hats reacting to someone who has no dream or is looking for one. Iv'e been kinda stuck in my head about this and I'm not quite sure what I'm meant to be doing. I kinda always run from things. thank you, and keep up the good work.
author’s note: hi i completely understand you. as a person who runs away from things and problems, you don’t know what you’re supposed to be doing in life. i tried my best to write this as best as i could because this is something that i can relate to and understand. i hope that you enjoy this and if you ever need someone to talk to i’m here ~ tori <3.

the reflection of the sun glistening on your thighs while you watched the wave currents crash together on this boring afternoon. sitting on top of the rock and staring at the ocean almost every day has been quite the hobby you picked up. sometimes you would stay until the moon came out, not caring about the time. it's been like this for about two years. every day you would come out to rocks and think about life. you were hoping to find a dream, but the more you sat on the rocks and did nothing; you still couldn't find one.
everyone has dreams. people want to be doctors, some people want to be teachers, some want to do something meaningful with their lives, but you? you weren't sure. ever since you were little, you never had a dream. you grew up searching for a dream and here you were at the [your age], still looking for a one. to you, it wasn't bad not having a dream considering you were still searching, but you knew that you couldn't run forever and had to stand your ground eventually.
as your eyes were fixated on the sea, you noticed a pirate ship coming towards the island. watching each member walk off the ship and stand at the entrance of the forest, you contemplated if you should help them out or let them figure out what they needed to do by themselves.
"heyyy!" a loud voice shouted, and you looked down and saw the stranger standing in front of the rock.
he wore a red button-down shirt that was open with a straw hat on top of his head, he also had an x mark shape on his chest.
"can you tell us where the closest restaurant is? we're hungry and we need to fuel up before we start restocking," his smile was big and bright.
"idiot," a woman with orange hair punched him on the head and he flew down on the ground.
"don't mind him, we were wondering if you could show us to the town so we can restock our ship. that's if you don't mind," she added with a smile.
you slowly climbed down the rock and made sure that you watched your step so you wouldn't trip. you looked at everyone and felt a little intimidated, their gaze was sharp while they had a serious look on their face.
"if you guys follow me, i could show you where you need to go," you cleared your throat and began to walk towards the town.
the straw hat crew looked amazed as they looked at every store they made eye contact with. this island was definitely different from the previous ones they've stopped at.
"luckily for you guys, everything you need is within close range so you won't be able to lose each other," you gave them a smile.
"nice, i can find some more parts for sunny,"
"i can find more cooking ingredients,"
"i can find more herbs and medicines,"
"i can find a new sword since this one is bad shape,"
you listened to all of them rambling on about what they needed and it made you curious about them.
"so, are you guys pirates," you stared at them while the man in the straw hat licked all of the plates in front of him cleaned.
"yeah, i'm luffy. i'm the captain," you were surprised that you understood what he said considering he still had food on his mouth.
"that's nami, sanji, zoro, franky, usopp, chopper, and robin. they are part of my crew," he added, taking a sip from his drink.
"what's your name?" nami gave you a curious look.
"i'm [name]," you gave them a smile as they nodded their head.
once they were done eating and getting everything they needed for their ship, they walked back to where their ship was docked. you couldn't lie, you were hoping that they were leaving so soon because they were an interesting group to be around.
"hey i have a question, i hope i'm not stepping over any boundaries," nami looked at you.
you nodded your head, letting her know that she could ask her question.
"why were you sitting up on top of that rock?" a small chuckle left your lips as you looked at the sea ahead of you.
"every day, i sit on top of the rock and stare at the sea, hoping to find my dream. everyone has a dream, everyone but me,"
"you don't have a dream?" luffy gasps, looking at you.
you shook your head, taking a seat on the log. the others took a seat around you as they had different facial expressions.
"i don't know what i'm supposed to be doing. am i supposed to be studying to be a doctor, or am i supposed to be a teacher, or am i supposed to be doing something meaningful with my life. every day i sit on those rocks and stare at the sea and try to figure what my dream is," you sighed, looking down at the ground.
"hey, it's fine if you don't have a dream. not everyone grows up having a dream and that's okay. you may not have one yet, but eventually, you will find your dream," robin gave you small smile.
"dreams don't have to come to you at a certain age, you can figure out your dream in your sleep. either way, don't beat yourself up about it," franky looked at you.
"once you experience something that's life-changing whether it's good or bad, a dream will come to you. it's all about your life experience and what you do, when you do something that you truly love, you'll find your dream," usopp spoke with a smile.
"so don't beat yourself up about it," sanji spoke, blowing the smoke out of his mouth.
"hey how about you join our crew?" luffy shouted, looking at you.
"we go on crazy adventures and maybe you'll find your dream on the next adventure we go on, so what do you say?" luffy looked at you with a small smile on your face.
you just met him and it hasn't even been a whole day, yet here he was asking you to join his crew. you could tell by his smile that he didn't have any malicious intentions, but still, would it be wise to join someone's cry that you didn't know? the others were staring at you as well, making you grow anxious.
you thought about what they said, and they were right. how were you going to find your dream if you never went out and took risks and ran away from your problems? you took a deep breath in before you spoke.
"i'll join your crew," the sound of them cheering and clapping their hands made you happy.
is this what it felt like having friends? especially ones that were willing to help you find a dream and be happy. all you knew is that you were excited to start your new journey and find your dream.

The development of Law’s relationship with Zoro - Part 4: Dressrosa, The Breaking Point (Saving Law)
<<Part I: Before Meeting>> <<Part II: Sabaody Archipelago, The First Meeting>> <<Part III: Punk Hazard, The Alliance (A)>> <<Part III: Punk Hazard, The Alliance (B)>> <<Part IV: Dressrosa, The Breaking Point (The Plan Failed)__ (Saving Law)__(Protecting Law)__ (Birdcage, Pica and Doflamingo)__ (Aftermath)>>
The mission of saving Law (chapter 731) was carried by Luffy, Zoro and Kinemon, while Franky, Robin and Usopp were responsible for destroying the factory with the help of dwarves.
Before Luffy left the Colosseum, he met Sabo (his and Ace's long-lost brother that up to this moment was considered to die in their childhood) which made Straw Hat emotionally shaken. Due to the excess of emotions, Luffy couldn’t stop crying what didn’t go unnoticed by Zoro:
Though Zoro is usually lenient in regards to Luffy’s moods, the trio managed to run away from marines in disguises made by Kinemon and get close to Royal Palace while Luffy still cried without a proper explanation why. Zoro’s patience finally ran out:
Zoro not only told Luffy to get a grip of himself (“do you still want to go save Law?”), but also actually smacked him. This… is a very uncommon act for Zoro. Because yes, he never beat around the bush when it comes to telling hard truth nor hesitate to reprimand his nakama (or, just straight sum up their antics as “idiotic”), but hitting Luffy is mainly done by Nami and Usopp or Sanji. It can’t be said that Zoro never displayed “a rough approach” to Luffy before - because he did it too from time to time, especially in the earlier parts of the story yet after time-skip, I can’t recall any moment similar to this one. It is so uncommon now for him to lose patience in regard to Luffy’s antics and/or emotional “breakdown” to the point of hitting him and yet it happened when Roronoa and Luffy were in the middle of a rescue mission to save Law.
Luffy - a man for whom Zoro was ready to give up his life, and for whom he was so worried once he learned about Ace’s death - was a crying mess since he left the colosseum (and some time already have passed between that and now) and Zoro just smacked his captain in a way Nami and Usopp usually do. What speaks a lot about the level of distress / pressure he must have felt.
Of course, it is hard to tell for sure, if Zoro was so worried about Law because he already took to liking him, or was that more about saving ally as returning debt, since Law saved Nami, Chopper, Brook, Momonosuke and Sanji from Doflamingo. I personally think it is a mix of both reasons. Zoro always took seriously his duties and “promises” (and alliance is a form of unsaid promise) but for all Straw Hats, at this point of story Law was no more “just ally”. Whatever his reasons were, taking down Doflamingo was something very personal; a matter worth dying. Straw Hats, not even knowing the full story behind Law’s choice, did not want to let him down.
In the meanwhile, in the Royal Palace, Law was put on the throne of Corazon. It is hard to tell, was he truly unconscious or did he pretend to not bring the enemy's attention to himself but if the latter, he could listen to Doflamingo’s talk with (ex)King Riku about the situation. Luffy was stuck in the Colosseum, ignoring the plan. Franky was actually doing what he promised to do, but without any support, which was not good enough. Like Doffy said, the alliance's only pieces left were Pirate Hunter Zoro and samurai Kinemon whose location and intention were unknown. What wasn’t the best information but not the worst either - there was still hope Straw Hats had some plan in mind. Especially since Doflamingo did not mention at all what happened with the rest of the crew, so Sunny Go could sail already far away from Dressrosa.
On their way, the rescue team was aided by dwarf Wicca and Viola, who had personal reasons to hate Doflamingo. With her help, pirates get a chance to invade the palace by secret passage not known even to the enemy (chapter 735). The long stairs were going to take them inside lower part of building but Zoro came with smart shortcut by using “handmade lift”
While Kinemon was making sure Viola was not left behind, Zoro’s impatience showed up again by rushing Luffy - even though his captain wasn’t even fooling around and did as he was told.
Was Zoro in such a hurry because of the heavy pressure of time (Law captured by enemy willing to hurt him beyond necessary and Franky’s team already on move) or just simple desire for fight, hard to tell for sure. But in all fairness, looking how Zoro was willing to follow Viola to another secret passage rather than directly attacking enemy soldiers (in contrast to Luffy who simply punched the main door with gomu gomu no gigant pistol), seems like saving Law was a serious matter to him, not just an occasion for a good fight. His reaction to Luffy’s directness points to that too, because usually Zoro was first to follow the captain into fight and not so ago his idea to get inside the colosseum unnoticed was to cut it… gently.
Now, Zoro, Kinemon, Wicca and Viola were pretty shocked and / or pissed at Straw Hat. Zoro’s whole reaction was, well, extremely expressive.
Once Luffy made ruckus, Doflamingo was informed about intruders (chapter 736):
Since Doffy was still in the same room as Law, Trafalgar may or may not hear that Luffy (who was supposed to fight in Colosseum, to Doffy’s great surprise) and Zoro actually get inside the palace. To save him, instead of destroying SMILE Factory. What, in the current state of Law’s mind was the wrong decision to make.
Anyway, the rescue team was soon confronted by Pica, one of three top Doflamingo’s officers. Zoro stayed behind to fight with the enemy, so Luffy and Viola could head to the throne room, to save Law (chapter 740).
In meanwhile, Law clearly regained consciousness, listening in silence to Doffy’s rant about Straw Hats and their unexpected attack on Sugar and connection to the little Tontatta people.
Law of course couldn’t know what was going on since he had no information about Sugar’s role in enslaving people nor who the dwarves were. He said to Doflamingo he barely could understand what he was saying. Yet one look at his former boss (the biting nails reflex) could tell Trafagar how serious the situation was and maybe, just maybe the Straw Hats knew what they were doing which means that his plan wasn’t a total failure. Yet questioned, Law also said “I have nothing to do with them anymore… the alliance is over”.
Law could say that to confuse (mess) with already uneasy Doflamingo or because he truly believed the alliance was over - or maybe rather, should be, to not drag Straw Hats into their death? Most likely it was a mix of all reasons, but one thing was clear - Law didn’t wait for rescue.
Soon it turned out that Straw Hats dealt a serious blow to the enemy. Law probably didn’t know what was going on, but hearing Trebol crying(?) over the Den Den Mushi and seeing Doflamingo’s reaction was some sort of reassurance in the difficult situation of his.
A victory of the alliance that seriously reduced the enemy's advantage. Then out of nowhere, a one-legged man (Kyros) attacked Doflamingo and soon Monkey D. Luffy showed up to fight Shichibukai. Law’s reaction? So, so unhappy to see Luffy who should (alongside with Zoro) worry about destroying factory rather him (chapter 744):
Not that Luffy listened or cared for what Law had to say on the matter.
The situation get out of Doflamingo’s control to the point he decided to use “Birdcage” - something that clearly terrified Law (a detail that will be important later to talk about):
Luffy had a short lived skirmish with an enemy that ultimately ended by throwing Law, Luffy, Viola, KIng Riku, and Kyros out of the room by Pica (who went to aid Doflamingo). All of them landed in the place where Zoro already was (chapter 745), still looking for Pica who just disappeared during their fight. Doflamingo then started the Birdcage, intending to A) kill everyone (beside his own Family) before the truth would come out and B) make everyone play his “game” in which people murder each other (“Kill or be killed! All of the people of this country are now “hunters”!!! If you want to be saved… you have no choice but to take someone’s head!!!”) and C) set high prices on Straw Hat-Heart pirates and their allies. Zoro, Law and Luffy get on the list of course.

Hi so um I just lost someone in my family and I was wondering if you do some hcs for Law and Zoro comforting their so.
anime: one piece
dedicated to: @a-bi-who-just-wants-sweaters
note: im sorry for your loss. if you want to talk to anyone about it, my DMs are open. you don’t have to go through this alone. your feelings matter. i also decided to do all the strawhats and law
***
Luffy:
Luffy tends to be a bright, simple minded person. He takes things at face value and usually isn’t serious. However, he genuinely does care about his crewmates - which includes you. As Rayleigh described, Luffy has a special type of observation haki. It allows him to understand the emotions of others. He was the first person to notice your grief.
Luffy is a man of action. The way he’ll try to help you cope by giving the space you need, or the physical affection you need. It depends on what you’re feeling that day. He understands how difficult it is to loose a family member, and how these things take time. If you’re not feeling particularly bright or happy on some days, he’ll try his best not to annoy you. If you’re looking for a hug or a shoulder to cry on, Luffy will offer it to you. He’ll even give you his strawhat and place it on your head. It’s special to him, and so are you to him. It’s his way of showing everything will be okay.
If you’re feeling particularly bad on a day, he might come into your room and see if there’s anything he can do. He’ll try to make you food or give you something to cheer you up. Luffy might try to make jokes (such as making silly faces) to get you to laugh. If it isn’t working, he’ll sit there with you. If you want to talk, that’s fine. If you don’t, that’s also fine. He won’t pry.
There are also days where Luffy is also feeling particularly blue, whenever he thinks about Ace. On those days, he may come and talk about the horrors he faced during Impel Down, or the war he had to go through. On those days, you’ll open up and talk about your family member. You’ll be there for each other, and help each other cope and find ways to push through in life.
Zoro:
Zoro is someone who’s quiet and is not the best at showing his concern for others through his actions. He shows his concern and care for his crewmates (you included) by little things. Checking to see if they’re okay, protecting them in battle and staying close to them. He’s not the type to voice his love and care for his crewmates.
Zoro would check up on you every now and then. He would keep his space, because he knows having too many people check up on you can be overwhelming. He would ask Chopper if you’re doing any better mentally. He would also ask Sanji if you’ve been skipping any meals.
The times he would check up on you would be at night. Zoro doesn’t seem much. He usually gets about 3-4 hours of sleep a night, and take naps throughout the day. If he realizes you’re up and wondering about the ship, he might talk to you and see if you’re doing any better. Whether you talk to him a lot or a little, he’ll still stay and listen to you.
Sometimes, he may ask you to join him while he’s working out. You’ll stay with him, whether that means you’ll work out or not. It’ll comfort you just having him close by. Whenever you do choose to excercise, it’ll be relieving. It takes your mind off things, and it greatly improves your mood.
Nami:
Nami will be one of the first people to realize there’s something wrong. She’ll see you one night silently crying to yourself. She’ll come up to you and see what’s wrong. She’ll sit you down and try to talk to you. She’ll comfort you, whether it’s through her words, giving you a hug or just sitting there with you. Nami understands grief takes time, she’ll be there with you 100% along the way.
Nami is one of the first people you’ll go to whenever you feel like talking about your family member. She’ll sit there and listen to you talk about them for hours. Sometimes, she’ll share stories of Bellemare.
You have your tasks and duties on the ship. Sometimes, it’s difficult for you to be able to fulfill your role of being a strawhat. Nami will make sure everything goes along smoothly whenever you need to sit down and be by yourself. She’ll assign everyone orders, and they’ll happily do your job if it means letting you feel better.
She’ll also check up on you now and then, like a big sister. She’ll ask Sanji if you’re eating. She’ll ask Chopper if you’re feeling any better emotionally. If you aren’t doing those things, she’ll come and talk to you. She’ll gently remind you that eating healthy is important. She’ll also remind you that everyone is there for you. You can talk when you’re ready.
Usopp:
Unlike Nami, Usopp isn’t as perceptive when it comes to learning about the feelings of others on the crew. It might take him awhile to notice the little things, like how you look tired all the time, or how you’re overeating/not eating at all during meals. He’ll still try to be there for you however
Usopp understands the pain of losing a close family member too well. He lost his mother at a young age. He’ll try to talk to you about how you feel, and give you some of his own personal experiences. He may sit closer to you during meals.
When the crew is fooling around and playing games, he’ll make sure you’re always there. He’ll want you to have a good time, so he’ll make sure you’re included. By doing this, Usopp wants to remind you that you’re not alone. The crew cares about you so much.
Sanji:
Sanji is emotionally perceptive, and he’ll realize right away something bad happened to you. He starts to notice you’re skipping meals and spending less time with the crew. You would always have a blank look on your face, staring out to see. His first instinct would be to rush over to you and see if you’re sick, or if anything is wrong. You’d brush him off, and say everything is fine. You would explain to him you’re just tired. This would happen frequently. Eventually, Sanji would give you space. He doesn’t want to pressure you into telling him anything.
Sanji would instead focus on making sure you’re eating enough, and eating the right foods. He’ll bring food to your room if you don’t come down during a meal. He’ll make you small healthy snacks throughout the day too. He’ll focus on what he’s capable on, which is your eating habits. If you have trouble sleeping at night, he’ll make you tea. He’ll make sure there’s always a cup of tea waiting for you every night before he heads to bed. When he’s on night watch, he’ll leave a kettle on the stove for you.
If you do choose to tell him what happens, he’ll be 100% willing to listen. He’ll drop whatever he’s doing to hear you talk. He won’t interrupt you, or become emotional, or try to offer you any advice. Despite acting like an idiot sometimes, Sanji is emotionally smart. He knows that he can’t solve anything, or that advice won’t always help. He’ll sit there and listen patiently.
Sanji may invite you into the kitchen to watch him cook if you’re sitting by yourself some days. He’ll make jokes, and talk about things to cheer you up. You’ll help him set and clear the table, which makes you feel much better.
Chopper:
Despite being the doctor of the crew, Chopper is quite naive. He isn’t as good as noticing things as the other crewmates. Chopper would have no idea anything is upsetting you, until you bring it up to him one day. He would be fooling around with Luffy and Usopp, and you would ask him if you’d like a checkup. He’ll take you to do one.
You’ll first ask him about his stance on mental health, and how important he thinks it is. He’ll explain to you, that your mental and emotional health is just as important as your physical health. You’ll bring up your family member who recently passed away, and how difficult it’s been for you.
You would see Chopper every week about how you’re feeling. Chopper would remain calm, and won’t pry for details. He’ll listen to everything you say, and may even take notes. He would become your therapist in a way. Everything you tell him, he would keep a secret. He doesn’t want to loose your trust.
Robin:
Similar to the other strawhats, Robin also had an extremely difficult life. Her home island was destroyed when she was just a child. She lost her mom at a young age and lived a life on the run for twenty years. It’s difficult for her to open up, and she still struggles with it till this day. She’ll understand that you’ll need time to process what happened. She won’t talk to you about it, or ever bring it up to you.
She may recommend a book for you to read, to help you make you feel better. She’ll make you a cup of tea too whenever she’s going to read her book. You’ll find yourself often reading with Robin side by side. It’s a great stress-reliever for the both of you.
If you ever do choose to open up to Robin, she’ll listen to everything you say. She may give you words of advice, or offer you words of comfort. She’ll almost act like your mom in a way afterwards.
Franky:
Franky may act like an idiot sometimes, but he does have rare times when he acts mature. These are times where a crew member needs his help, or if he needs to step up and do his job as a strawhat. This is one of those times.
It’ll take him a bit of time however to notice that something is wrong. Similar to Robin, he won’t pressure you to say anything to him. He’ll just do what he’s capable of. He may offer you a cola drink once in awhile. It makes him feel better, so he’ll try to give you one I’m hopes of making you feel better
Franky may ask you to try out some of the cool inventions he’s working on. He may even invite you to his workshop, where you’ll watch and try to help him out. It’ll just be small things, such as handing him a tool or trying to tighten a screw. You’ll start to bond with Franky from here on out.
Brook:
Brook understands the pain of losing someone close to you. He lost his friends before his eyes and had to live around their dead bodies for decades. He’ll be extremely mature when it comes to try and helping you through these difficult times.
Brook copes through music. Expect him to play various pieces for you every day, some happy and some sad. Many will give you the feeling of happiness and peace. His music will bring back many memories of your deceased family member. Some days you’ll listen to his music and just cry.
Brook will also give you music tapes to listen to in your room. They all be songs he written and performed himself. You’ll find yourself often in your room, listening to music and reminiscing about your family member.
Trafalgar Law:
Law may seem like a cold, calm and collected individual. He can even be ruthless at times. He tends to keep to himself and doesn’t find himself having many friends. He does however, deeply care about his crew. He’s not the best at showing his affection towards them, but he does genuinely does care about them. He cares about you.
Law will realize immediately that something happened. He’ll assume you’re sick or injured, but it’ll turn out that’s not the case. He’ll ask you about it. If you’re not comfortable opening up and sharing yet, it’ll frustrate him. He wants to help you, but he wouldn’t know what’s bothering you. If you do tell him early on, it’ll shock him. He’ll stay calm however, and try to help you feel better as much as he can.
Similar to Chopper, he’ll check up on you every week. He’ll ask you how you’re feeling and other questions. He won’t pry, and you’ll tell him as much as you’re comfortable telling him. He’ll write down everything you say. He’ll become your therapist in a way too.
Law isn’t the best at expressing his affection and care towards his crew, so he’ll ask the others to do so. He’ll tell them to remind you in both subtle and grand ways that everyone cares. Expect lots of hugs from Bepo. Your other crewmates will try to spend more time with you.
Law will also give you space. He understands that some days you need time by yourself. Law also has days where he needs his own space. If you’re feeling particularly bad on one day, Law won’t bother you. He won’t force you to complete your tasks on the crew and will ask the others to do them instead. He may complete them if nobody else can.
At the end of the day, all your crewmates care about you. They want to remind you that you’re not alone. That it’s okay to be sad. That it’s okay to cry. That it’s okay to have bad days. They all express their love and care for you, each in their own way.
You are not alone.
