IRL Sixsona Designs Pt. 2: Makeup Edition
Hey y'all! This is second in a series of a few extra sixsona posts that @lightleckrereins and I are doing this week. The first post is here, showing the real-life vinyl inspirations we used!
This time around, I'm doing yet another hypothetical: what makeup would be used for each sixsona design!! My list of makeup recommendations for Six cosplayers is probably the post I'm second-most proud of (after sixsonas ofc). When I was initially working on that I kept seeing makeup that would be perfect for some of our sixsona designs, so because I have absolutely zero chill of course I had to figure out the full makeup plots for each.
The basic rules were - one glitter - one eyeshadow palette - and two additional products to fill in any gaps, as needed (this included fun stuff like an extra glitter or liquid liner, but also practical things like additional eyeshadow shades when needed or a liquid base for more sheer colors)
White (swing): Colourpop palette in Cloud 9, NYX Metallic Glitter in Lumi-Lite, Danessa Myricks Colorfix Matte in Lift, Urban Decay Moondust Liquid Eyeliner in Pyro
Yellow (A/B): Nicka K Pop Neon Palette in Oh Honey, With Love Pressed Glitter in Pineapple, MAC Dazzleshadow in It's All About Shine, Glisten Cosmetics wet liner in Bananas Cream (A/S): Beauty Bay (42), NYX Ultimate Glow Shots in Come Thru Coconut, Colourpop Super Shock Shadow in 3rd St, Colourpop Super Shock Shadow in In Harmony Bronze (A/C): BPerfect Cosmetics in Compass of Creativity North Skintones, Lemonhead Spacepaste in Dirty Penny, Haus Labs Hy-Power Pigment Paint in Copper Shimmer, MAC Dazzleshadow Extreme in Objet D' Art
Mint (B/S): Nicka K Pop Neon Palette in Lucky Charm, With Love Pressed Glitter in Mint, Haus Labs Hy-Power Pigment Paint in Mint Matte, Colourpop Super Shock Shadow in Life Coach Coral (B/H): Kimchi Chic Palette in Citrus Queen, Slayfire Cosmetics in Peaches & Scream, Danessa Myricks Colorfix Matte in Phoenix, Glisten Cosmetics wet liner in Rose Quartz Emerald/peacock (B/P): Cozzette Beauty Palette in Blue-Green, Designer Dust Co in Water Country Flakes, Danessa Myricks Colorfix Metallics in Firework, MAC Eye Shadow in Carbon
Amber (S/C): Colourpop in Rock On, Danessa Myricks Infinite Chrome Flakes in Hot Lava, Danessa Myricks Colorfix Liquid Metals in Hot Fire, Lemonhead Spacejam in Rainbow Road Peach (S/H): Colourpop in Sweet Talk, Lemonhead Spacepaste in Mulholland, MAC Dazzleshadow Extreme in Kiss of Klimt, MAC Eye Shadow in Shell Light blue (S/P): Colourpop in Blue Velvet, Designer Dust Co in Carolina Bae Micro, Danessa Myricks Colorfix Foils in Mermaid, Colourpop Super Shock Shadow in Ice Dream
Magenta (C/H): Beauty Bay in Berries (16), Designer Dust Co in Bubblegum Bae Micro, Colourpop Super Shock Shadow in Roy G. Biv, MAC Eye Shadow in If It Ain't Baroque Maroon (C/P): Juvia's Place in The Berries, Lemonhead Spacepaste in Wine Safari, MAC Pigment in Gold, Glisten Cosmetics wet liner in Bloody Mary Lavender (H/P): Juvia's Place in The Violets, Barry M Biodegradable Body Glitter in Hypnotic, MAC Dazzleshadow in It's All About Shine, Glisten Cosmetics wet liner in Amethyst
Some credit info: Designs for white, yellow, cream, mint, amber, peach, magenta, maroon, lavender + all sixsona art featured here by @lightleckrereins. Original designs for bronze, coral, emerald/peacock, and light blue are mine. I did most of the sourcing work for the makeup, but Sofia created the inspiration + made final decisions on the makeup for all her designs.

Has anyone else’s first week of 2017 been utter crap? Mine has, and this blog post is a welcomed distraction to say the least. And I am not even trying to carry over the “2016 was the worst year ever” BS that has been floating around social media. In fact, lets go back to a perfectly lovely day in 2016. Christmas. Over Christmas I received some beauty items, in addition to a Sephora gift card from my in-laws. So I figured I would share some of the aforementioned items and thoughts, as you do. This goes without saying, but this post isn’t meant to be braggartly or boastful. I am grateful for each gift, and enjoy sharing things with you all. I am a simple human, and if you knew me IRL you would know, bragging isn’t really my style.
The first item on the docket is the Drunk Elephant Lippe. I have been wanting to try this product out after hearing such good things about it from YouTuber/Blogger Jennifer Ross, of PrettyNeatLiving.com. This product is not only supposed to moisturize your lips, but also add volume. Now I have only been using this product for about a week, so I cannot say that I really see a difference at this point as far as volume. I do feel like my lips are moisturized, and that is really all that I was looking for. I wanted something that would plump my lips a bit, yes. But only so that when I apply matte liquid lipstick, they didn’t look like crusty, cracked, shed and discarded snake skin. I do not notice a distinct smell or flavor of this lip balm, if you are someone that is sensitive to scents. The only downside to this lippe is the shape of the balm itself. It is quite wide, and concave in the center. This lends itself to an uneasy application for the first few times. Other then that, I will have to follow up with you to let you know if I see a difference in lip volume over time.
Next we have an item featured on my 2016 Holiday Gift Guide – For Her. The YSL Mon Paris Eau De Parfum. I had received a sample of this with a Sephora catalog and fell in- love-at-first-sniff. Initially this fragrance is fruity, but I also detect a floral scent behind the fruit. The fragrance notes listed on Sephora.com are as follows; Strawberry, Raspberry, Bergamot, Calone, Pear, Orange Flower, Jasmin Sambac, White Peony, Datura, Patchouli, White Musk, Ambrox, Cedarwood, and Crystal Moss. It is heavenly.
The next item is a palette from Tarte that wasn’t even on my radar. Crazy right? Especially since I consider myself a beauty know-it-all. This elusive Tarte palette is called the Double Duty Beauty Eye & Cheek in Classic Courage. My mom picked this up for me for Christmas, because neutral warm tones are some of my favorites. The colors in the Classic Courage palette are rose, copper and brown toned. There are five eyeshadows and a blush included, and my favorite would have to be the blush. It is the perfect rosy nude, and I have used it on both my eyes and cheeks. All of the colors are pretty great, and the packaging is perfect for travel. To be honest, I was hesitant about including this one because I cannot find it online. So I’m not sure if it is even sold anymore. However, I do believe my mother picked this one up at Ulta. Anyway, I felt as though it should be shared just in case you can still find it at your local Ulta, or if Tarte decides to come out with something similar.

If you saw my Sephora VIB 2016 Haul, you will know that I picked up the Kat Von D Studded Kiss Lipstick in the cult favorite Lolita. Since then, I have been kicking myself for not also picking up the limited edition Lolita II. I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the original Lolita. Of course when I went back to my local Sephora to pick up Lolita II, they were out of stock! To my surprise, I received Lolita II for Christmas from my fabulous mother. She knows me so well. Lolita II is everything I hoped it would be and more. It is the perfect warmed toned, peachy nude, and I am glad to have it in my collection.
I’ve gone on and on before about the Kat Von D Ink Liner in other posts like My Makeup Essentials and Sephora VIB 2016 Haul. To get you up to speed, in short, it is my all time favorite liquid eyeliner. I usually only use the brown shade Hemingway, but I wanted to add black liner back into my rotation. So I figured why not try the Kat Von D Tattoo Liner? I did just that, and picked up the classic black color Trooper. The main difference that I have noticed is the applicator. The Tattoo Liner has a brush tip, whereas the Ink Liner has a felt tip. The brush applicator allows you to achieve a thinner line, which is a nice change. It does require more precision though. I also think the Tattoo Liner has more of a wet formula and a glossy finish. Overall, I like it….However, I like the Ink Liner better. What can I say? I am a creature of habit.
The second to last product I picked up for myself on the recommendation of Makeup by Tiffany D. She did a really pretty holiday sparkle look using the Urban Decay Liquid Moondust in the color Chem Trail. Upon the first application, I was unsure about how I felt about this product. If you are familiar with the original Urban Decay Moondust eye shadows, you will know they are all about the glitter. This is a cream/liquid version of the original formula. So if sparkle isn’t your thing, then don’t bother. The Chem Trail color really appealed to me because I didn’t want anything obnoxious, and liked the idea of understated sparkle. And while you can definitely achieve that with this product, you can also easily go overboard if you apply too much. The problems I am having are – one its gritty texture, and two the formula separates. Once it is on it lasts all day. Taking it off is just as painful as anything that contains glitter would be expected to be. The verdict; I’m still uncertain if I will be keeping this one or not.
And lastly, this year as part of my “stocking stuffers,” I received two beautiful colors from the Essie Gel Couture collection, in addition to the gel topcoat. Remember when I said in my last post that my mom got every detail right, down to a particular nail polish color? Well that color is “off-duty style.” I had tagged my sister in an Essie Facebook post with this color or a similar color, and my mom had taken notice. She then went out of her way to find the green color, and got us each one. The sweetest.
The formula of this nail polish is awesome! I have only tried Off-Duty Style thus far, but it was incredibly opaque. It also applied smoothly, and the brush size and shape results in a much cleaner application. The mistake I made was only applying one coat of the color itself. Because the polish is SO opaque, I thought I didn’t really need a second coat. That being said, the wear time probably would have been extended if I had applied a second coat of color. I did get a good few days of wear, which is actually good for me. I wash my hands frequently and have them in water constantly. But like I said, I really believe that I will have better results next time after applying two coats of color.
Holiday Beauty Haul Has anyone else’s first week of 2017 been utter crap? Mine has, and this blog post is a welcomed distraction to say the least.

Last year I released my first ever, Oprah inspired, list of my favorite festival/rave things from the year.
This year I’m doing it again! And just like last year, I’m going to share with you my favorite items, and host a giveaway on my Instagram for you to win all of the items! Even better, I’ve worked with some of the shops below to offer 15% to my followers with the code FestFashions on any orders on their site through December 31, 2018!! I’m so excited to be able to grow this post for everyone this year, for my followers and my favorite shops!
So let’s do this! Here’s the collection of my favorite things from 2018, some new, and some old, all of these products made my rave/festival life much easier, and I highly recommend them. To fully disclose, NONE of these items have paid me for this, this is my own honest opinion.
It’s simple to say Sleenky is my favorite new product of the year -- top of the list. It totally changed how I carry my phone at clubs, raves and festivals. You just strap your phone in then clip it to the inside of your bag or to your outfit for safe keeping. It’s great because it has a little card holder on the back too. I have a bad habit of tucking my phone in my bodysuit and this keeps it from falling out without me noticing. I highly, HIGHLY, recommend this product.
I’ll have one Sleenky as part of the giveaway package on my Instagram! And You can save 15% on one yourself with code Festfashions and enjoy free shipping!
I was introduced to Universal Soul’s biodegradable glitter about this time last year. Since then, I’ve come to love it. They have released so many colors, sets and grain sizes. The glitter comes in recyclable glass containers and is safe for the environment which is one of the best things about it. Just think about how much micro-waste we have created with glitter that birds and bugs eat! So much safer, and really reasonably priced if you ask me. My favorites are any of the really small grain glitters for everyday use in eyeshadows, and the bigger ones for festivals!
Coming soon to Universal Soul’s site are these awesome stackable sets of glitter! So you have cute little kit of six colors ready to go! It’s great because they’re all organized and then of course the little container is reusable for whatever festival things you might need to store in it later!
I’ll have one of these new Universal Soul stackable sets of glitter as part of the giveaway package on my Instagram! And you can save 15% on any order over $20 on their site with code FestFashions15!
Pastease was on my list last year, and they’re on it again. I love all of their creative designs and how well they stick to my body, but don’t hurt when I pull them off. They’re so reliable and I adore that they’re a small business shop. I always keep some of their pasties in my rave drawer for raves or just nights out with a top that I don’t want to wear a bra with. The Xs are my staples, but I always get fun colors for them, specifically in the Liquid Acid Blue.
It’s my favorite though to check out her site periodically for new releases and finding the perfect set of pasties to go with my themed outfit. I’ve even mixed packs to create my own look!
I’ll have three pairs of Pastease as part of the giveaway package on my Instagram! And you can save 15% on their site with code FestFashions!
It’s always been one of my favorite thing to find designers who are coming up with creative looks and making them by hand to sell. I love supporting small businesses. I spend a lot of time finding new small businesses to share with you guys on my blog. I love supporting someone's dream directly in this way. I also love shopping small because I know that my outfit will always stand out as more unique and one of a kind.
Rolita Couture is a shop I’ve been following for a while, and it’s been awesome to watch her success grow. I also had the chance to meet the amazing couple behind Rolita Couture this year, and now knowing them personally makes it even easier to support this brand that supports women of all shapes and sizes. They truely come up with unique designs and find awesome new fabrics before they hit the rest of the scene. She’s always ahead of the curve and supports curves with offering an array of sizing options as well as custom orders.
I’ll have an item from Rolita Couture as part of the giveaway package on my Instagram! And you can save 15% on her site with code FestFashions!
So I never thought I was a girl who would have all this behind the scenes stuff going on with my outfits, but hey, sometimes you need it. This year I’ve found that Fashion Tape is a life saver for tops that are deep v cuts. I use the tape on the inside of the v as well as on the outside to keep them in place. It’s a great staple to have accessible in your rave drawer, and comes with 36 pieces which also made me happy that I didn’t feel like I was wasting money. You can buy it from their site directly, Amazon, or like me: CVS with a coupon.
I believe that you don’t always need to buy a whole new outfit, but you can always make something new with the pieces you have, and mix in a new accessory to make the look feel fresh. This year, Sea Gypsy Couture in my opinion has been killing it in the accessory realm. Their pieces always strike me as something a fairy princess would wear. It’s so easy to buy one of their belts, harnesses or body chains to spice up an old look, or take a more subdued look to the next level!
One of my favorite things about accessories like these is that you can wear them with the tiniest pasties or over a black t-shirt. They allow people in all comfort levels of rave fashion to add something special to their look. Sometimes people are nervous about what to wear to a rave, and don’t want to feel too “naked”, well wear what makes you comfortable and throw some fun accessories on top and you’re sure to feel like you’re dressing up more!
I’ll have a belt from Sea Gypsy Couture as part of the giveaway package on my Instagram! And you can save 15% on their Etsy shop with code FestFashions!
While the overall trend has moved away from lots of temporary tattoos, I still like to add a few to my looks. I’ve been more draw these days though to ones that look real vs flash tattoos. I like to wear them out when I go to a club, festival, or sometimes just out with my girlfriends to drink. They let you take on a different personality for the night, and that’s half the fun of getting dressed up to go somewhere. Inked by Dani makes these adorable temporary tattoos that are the perfect size, cleanest lines, and cutest designs. They look pretty real (the black ink ones at least I think) and I personally love the line thickness of them the most.
The tattoos are SO reasonably priced, and can be bought in packs. I’ve bought over 10 of the one that says “happy” in script. I keep putting it in the same spot on my body, it’s probably the closest I’ll ever get to a real tattoo! My other favorites are the little outer space set, the triangles, and the conversation hearts.
I’ll have a little pack of some tattoos from Inked By Dani as part of the giveaway on my Instagram! And you can save 15% on their shop with code FestFashions.
The last item I want to talk about is two Urban Decay eyeshadow paletts. When it comes to make-up, every day or rave, I’m not the best. I’ve been trying to learn more, but my staples are still fake eyelashes and glitter. Truly that’s all a girl needs if they’re feeling like they want to spice up their rave look, but I’ve been trying to get more creative, and that’s come in the form of eyeshadow paletts.
I really only got them because I found them SUPER cheap at Nordstrom Rack, but one of them is on sale now for even less than I paid on the Urban Decay site. I have two pallets, the Moondust Pallet which is various colors with glitter. The colors come up light and the glitter as well, so someone like me who doesn’t know what they’re doing can feel like they’re not adding too much at once. The red color in this set is the one I use the most. The other one I have is the Electric Pallet. I love the colors and they’re perfect for a rave. I use them mostly as a liner of sorts on the top of my eyelid or just under for a pop of color. They both travel well too which is a bonus for me.
So there you go! That’s my favorite things of 2018! I can’t believe of fast this year went by and how much of my life has changed in one year. I have so much hope for 2019 and am really excited for some more awesome things I have planned with my blog.
I’ll have a few more “end of the year” posts for you guys before we officially ring in 2019, so stay tuned on my site!
Be sure to enter the Instagram giveaway, and take advantage of all the discount codes! Many of them are only live until Dec 31, 2018!

Colourful Makeup Products (cont.)
Since my last text post focused on the rainbow hues which were exhibited across model’s face on the runway, I thought I’d suggest some products (at different price points) which you can use to recreate similar looks.
URBAN DECAY
Urban decay has made a name for itself due to it’s consistent exciting and experimental products. Therefore it would only be fitting that they provide plenty of colour. They're also very good quality and extremely beautiful on your vanity. (Top to bottom) Moondust Palette, currently on sale for £21. Full spectrum eyeshadow palette £43. Liquid moondust eyeshadow £14. Heavy Metal Glitter Eyeliner £13.60. Double Team special effect coloured mascara £19.50.
TWO FACED COSMETICS
Two faced is another luxury brand which is often very experimental and fun. Although not cheap, it’d definitely worth the price for the gorgeous packaging alone, let alone the quality of the products. (Top to Bottom) Life’s a festival palette £35. Pure Gold Loose Glitter £15. Sketch Marker £20.
BH COSMETICS
Looking at BH Cosmetic’s products you’d think they cost a fortune, especially since they’re so high in demand. However they’re all amazingly cheap. (Top to Bottom) 88 Matte - Eighty-Eight Color Eyeshadow Palette £16. Weekend Festival 20 Color Palette £20.
NYX
I think NYX is horribly underrated. Admittedly, their products can be hit and miss, but I think most of it is fairly high quality, especially the eye and lip ones. (Top to Bottom) Vivid Brights eyeliner £6. Nyx ultimate eyeshadow palette £16. Holographic halo eye tint £7
MAC
MAC can be pricey, but it’s notorious for it’s consistent quality. Their lip products are always the best you can get, and if you are going to rock a colourful bold lip then it’s usually best to invest in one that’s going to look really good. MAC lipmix £15.50.
While I have not tried all these specific products, I have chosen brands which I know are all high quality. They also have very positive reviews.

Hey babe, your makeup always looks amazing. What are your go to/favourite products?
Hi lovely! Thank you so much 💕
Shall I just write down my routine for you?
I start with my moisturiser and SPF, i use one from Decubal because I have dry skin and any SPF will do. Primer, I either use the one from ELF or P2 (it’s a German brand).
For foundation I love the Mac Studio Waterweight, it’s very subtle and dewy and not too heavy - though sometimes I skip it altogether. Concealer I either use the long lasting concealer from Collection, or the Kat Von D Lock It concealer - and then set it all with a banana powder (mine’s from W7 because it was cheap but any loose powder will do, I just use a banana one because the undertone of my skin is yellow). If my under eye circles are particularly dark I first use a pink shade from the all round concealer palette from Catrice before I use my regular concealer.
My favourite contour bronzer is Hoola from Benefit, and I bronze a bit on top with L'Oreal Glam Bronze La Terra. Blush I either use Nars Orgasm or Baby Love from Too Faced (it’s in the Love Flush palette). Highlighters I switch it up between Nars Albatross, Champagne Pop from Becca or OFRA Everglow (from the Nikkietutorials collection, if you want to look like a disco ball that’s the one).
Regarding eye makeup base and stuff you have to throw out soon I never use expensive things. I always use an eyeshadow primer from Essence, super cheap, the Lash Princess mascara from Essence and the liquid eyeliner from Catrice (I actually like it better than any expensive one I’ve tried). For my eyebrows I used the Catrice eyebrow kit for the longest time and it works like a charm, but I have now switched to the Anastasia Brow Wiz in Dark Brown (which was a mistake because I’m in love).
The Anastasia Modern Renaissance palette is the ABSOLUTE love of my life for eye shadows. I also use the Urban Decay Naked palettes a lot, Mac’s Amber Lights and Urban Decay Moondust palette for glittery days.
As for lips, I love Mac Ruby Woo, Mac Studded Kiss, Beeper from Colourpop or the NYX liquid suede and NYX lingerie lipsticks (in any colour tbh).
I end with the Mac Fix+ setting spray because I love the bottle, but when it’s finished I’m gonna refill it with grape water and it will work just as well!!
#what the fuck this got too long#that's for a full face but rest assured that I go out with just brows and some eyeliner and a tiny bit of undereye concealer a lot toon#really fnfnfnfn#fuck#messages#makeup ref
