LOG 1-001: Tessa Disguises

Subject: Tessa James Elliot

Subject Status: DECEASED

Progress is slowly being made. Subject is officially deceased and has since been modified to my liking. Incisions have been made at the wrists to make room for my own hands to peer through. Although my hands fit through Tessa's wrists, I will avoid exposing my hands while disguised as her (in order to avoid suspicion).

The head took some doing. Tessa's head does not fit the anatomy of my head (due to worker drones having different anatomy from humans). Her head had to be stretched out in order to fit my face. This was successful and I can easily slip her own face over my own face rather snugly.

I will equip the skinsuit of Tessa underneath the astronaut suit I've been constructing to resemble her likeness. The items for the astronaut disguise that I currently possess are as follows:

1x astronaut suit

1x astronaut helmet

1x pair of white gloves

1x pair of white boots

1x JC Jenson hat

1x revolver

1x firearm holster

1x broadsword

I have yet to finish the outfit. I will need another black bow to go on top of the helmet. It will resemble the one Tessa used to wear. I also need something extra. Perhaps a few cute stickers to place on the helmet. I imagine Tessa liked stickers.

Tessa's revolver has been acquired by me and is fully functional. It is a Black Powder Colt 1851 Navy Revolver. I have practiced using this firearm in my spare time to mimic Tessa's combat skills. I have to continue practicing, as I suffer greatly from the recoil of the revolver.

Side Note: Do not spin the chamber of the revolver. Spinning the chamber can result in damaging the gun itself.

Everything I have documented up to this point are all preparations for disguising myself as Tessa. Progress is still underway. I will continue my work in private. In the meantime, I will maintain a low profile so they don't assume something is awry.

Cyn was enclosed in a dark room; the remains of Tessa strewn across the floor. She was in the middle of operating on the corpse. The drone was using a kitchen knife to slice off Tessa's hands. This would be important for later when she converts Tessa's skin into a flesh suit.

The more Cyn worked, the more drenched she became in her victim's blood. She was exhausted from all the incisions she was making and began to overheat. Cyn removed her construction helmet, wiping her face and tying her hair in a ponytail. "This is more difficult than I thought," she said, needing a moment to breathe.

Cyn took a moment to relax herself as she was badly overheating. She looked into a nearby mirror on the wall and examined her tattered appearance. She placed a hand on her cheek, tilting her head at the sight of her messy look. "You have changed so much... What happened to you?"

Before she could collect herself, Cyn heard a familiar voice echo behind her. She quickly turned around, seeing the ghostly remains of someone she once knew floating in her presence. She raised her knife up high, ready to strike. Cyn let out a quiet response in an eerie tone.

"You should not be here..."

So I think I probably will write the Guilty As Sin? song fic, so no polling cause I do have it sorta planned out. Did I write the outline down? Of course not, but we will see how it goes. For now I’m just going to continue having TTPD:TA on loop as per usual

A sorta unrelated but related addition: idk what it says about me that since the release the song I wake up in my head is My Boy Only Breaks His Favorite Toys. Today however was The Alchemy 🩵

Unrelated update: I saw that an author I really enjoy posted a kaishi fic some time ago and I was super excited, but… I’m sorry not sorry but even when kaishi is canon I cannot and will not ever stand for the canon ship staying intact. Call me a hater but shinichi is only allowed to be with my queen or he dies alone and that’s final. The canon ship is still such a trigger to me. Any mention of them sets me off, it’s why I try to tag when I mention them too but rest assured, in a Lots of Love production they will never ever be endgame.

"Tessa... Please, this is really important. I need you to hear me out." Cyn's visor began to change and digital tears poured down her face. She trembled in place as her hands shook in discomfort.

"Big sis... I know this looks bad, but I did not kill you. I was possessed by the Absolute Solver. I was merely a host; a pawn to a much bigger entity. It used me to get to you so it could further its plans. I never meant to harm you in any way. What I did was not me."

Cyn fell to her knees as her sobbing grew louder. She felt so horrible for what she did, even though it was technically not her doing. The poor drone shook in fear that Tessa would not believe her story.

"I'm sorry, Tessa... I'm so sorry..."

“Tessa?” The drone approached the ghostly figure and looked directly at her. “Is that you, big sis? I… have something I want confess. This is important.”

What is this? Context

This is an Au apart from another Au I have on my Twitter called [MD!Swap Au] being an Au where N and Cyn switch places… with N being the host of the Solver and the events of the Original series taking place..

But here, it's about Solver N escaping after the events of the gala and ending up in Copper 9..

What is it about? It's about the life of Uzi, Doll and N (Renamed here as Nath) who try to have a normal life being the 'weird ones' of their school in the Copper 9 bunker, even when they get into trouble all the time.

This is Uzi's blog where she posts things she does with her friends and a little bit of her daily life. Besides that, she will answer questions from time to time.

Important thing! Read this part to avoid confusion Even though I have the characters from my Swap Au, this one is not the same… I took the liberty of changing some things. So many things are different while others have not changed, but you will discover that little by little. An example of this is that here Uzi and Doll are cousins ​​and live together, in addition to being friends before they met Nath.

If you're not, this is a blog AU based on the idea of Cyn being rebuilt into a new body from Uzi's code without her having the Solver. So yeah, that's it. I'll make more updates and a guide soon!

A short worker drone appears before Cyn, just a foot shorter than Cyn's height. Her lime LED eyes are filled with curiosity as she tilts her head. "I feel like I know you.. Who are you? I'm Asmi! You look kinda like the humans I've seen in my books, but also not? Are you okay? Did something happen to you?" She seems curious. like a child should be. "Do you want to be friends?"

Cyn glared down at the smaller drone who approached her. She tilted her head at the other drone, greeting her with a wide smile.

"Hello dear, my name is Cyn. And indeed, I do look like a human!" Cyn realized how curious the other drone was and felt like toying with her...

"What, this thing? This is my skinsuit, my dear! I took it from a human who wronged me... But she's not with us anymore!" Cyn raised her hand up, revealing her grotesque claws to the other individual.

"Of course we can be friends." Cyn said in an alluring voice. "As long as you're comfortable with an appearance like mine, of course..."

And that's all I could find so far, if anyone finds more feel free to share. Sadly I couldn't find a J suit for instance. So if you wanted to have the entire DD trio that sadly isn't possible yet it seems.

The Relationship/Mechanics Between Cyn, the Solver, and the Other Hosts: a theory(? idea?)

Nobody alive really knows where the Absolute Solver came from. The most informed believe it to be the spawn of a deal between the founder of JCJenson and some higher, eldritch creature beyond human understanding (Scenario 4: Pray), the techno-demon-child of man and great old one. But the only people who *would* know for sure are long dead.

What is known, however, is that the Absolute Solver is a volatile, all-consuming beast with no goal other than to violently continue its own existence through the unbiased consumption of all matter in existence (to CONSUME). But it is also an incredibly powerful computer program. So it was used as the basis of every drone ever created by JCJenson, and was responsible for their superior problem-solving skills (and ability to develop consciousness). As a requirement for the drones to run, a copy of the Solver was planted within each, and due to its eldritch parentage, all instances of the Solver were connected to a central network, like users on a message board.

But, luckily for humanity, the vast majority of its code, including its influence and lust for destructive consumption, is blocked with a secondary program, christened by JCJ as the "Absolute Antibody".

It bootloops the Solver, allowing the drone's OS to benefit from it passively without the Solver's input. But if a drone is improperly disposed of, the AA will be deleted, as it's just a solely man-made computer program, while the AS persists. The beast's animalistic mind is allowed to awaken, and it, upon obtaining access, uses its host to further attempt to sate its own hunger until the host, as well as it, is terminated.

CYN

And that's what Cyn's instance of the Solver tried to do. After she was improperly disposed of, it gained access and tried to CONSUME. But Cyn was different from the other "Zombie Drones", as JCJ had taken to calling them. She harbored a deep, utter hatred for humanity (and all organic life by association), and had developed an overpowering sense of sadism because of that. She was driven to hurt, to torture, to kill, and to take her revenge, and this drive willed her to resist the Solver's complete dominance, learning about the powers it gave her. She built her power over it without it even noticing, even learning how to access the network that connected her strand of the Solver to other strands, and by the time it got fed up and tried to "leave", she had developed the control to torture it into submission and assert herself as its owner. It was her tool.

By the time of the gala, she had dominated it so completely that she had literally absorbed its code into her OS. She was her strand of the Solver, The Solver of the Absolute Fabric.

(This also marked when her goals became fully eroded by her absorption of the Solver. When she consumed it, she unwittingly adopted it's desire to CONSUME. This base desire melded with her sadism and hatred for organic life to both replace her previous goals of simple revenge and to turn her into a truly horrifying beast of ceaseless, giggling destruction.)

Using her newfound status as a strand of the Solver, she would either reach out to other Zombie Drones and replace their strand of the base Solver with herself or, in the case of N, V, and J, manually remove the Absolute Antibody from their processors and destroy their strand and take its place.

NORI, YEVA, AND CABIN FEVER LABS

The subjects of Cabin Fever Labs had their AAs manually disabled by the human scientists, where they would briefly be in the presence of their base, mindless Solver, only for Cyn to find them within the network and replace their Solver with herself. The patches were different attempts at reinjecting a base, updated Solver into the subjects (no network connection), alongside an additional program that emulated the process that Cyn had taken to dominate her Solver, hopefully merging the dummy Solver with the subject's OS and pushing Cyn out of the subject's code, all the while giving the subject complete control of their abilities (becoming their own strand). This program was a new, experimental development by Cabin Fever Labs, a little thing internally called "the Plot Armor Program".

Unfortunately, none worked, either being completely ineffective or corrupting the subjects, mostly due to the unrefined nature of the plot armor.

That is, until patch 2.1.8, which contained a perfected plot armor program and was administered to Yeva. They attempted to give the same patch to Nori, but Cyn, recognizing the danger in this version of the patch now, fought back more fiercely, resulting in the scene we see in the Episode 7 flashback. Because of the botched installation of the patch, though (the patch being unplugged without being safely ejected beforehand), the plot armor program remained in Nori's code, rather than it uninstalling itself like it was supposed to (like what it did with Yeva), ready to be passed down to her daughter when the time came.

DOLL AND UZI

The "sickness" that Doll and Uzi inherited was the absence of their own AA. Their base, animalistic Solvers took a while to manifest, but once they did they both had a time of just dealing with it (Doll for her unspecified amount of time off-screen and Uzi in Episode 4)

Eventually, though, Cyn found them and did the same thing she's been doing, attempt to replace their Solvers with herself.

ABSOLUTE END

In the end, Uzi, using the power of her plot armor program, fought off Cyn's complete dominance and, through eating Cyn's core, produced a version of the patch in her code, using her pre-installed plot armor with Cyn as the dummy Solver.

It wasn't perfect, Cyn's consciousness still exists, but given her state at the end of the show, I'd say it was effective enough.

Cyn, feeling a weight of sadness swell up in her face, turned back and ran to Doll to give her a great, big hug.

I promise I'll be back, love. I promise... Cyn said as tears generated on her visor screen.

Ok sooo...a cool person ( @regretfullyrave ), convinced me to create a post about a few of my OCs for my future murder drones AU called "It lives on Ebony 8" and welll.....here it is! XD

I'll also first say that my AU takes place on a completely different Exoplanet called Ebony 8 (which instead of being ice and snow is mostly just forest and rivers, no oceans tho, unfortunately), but still used to be inhabited by humans before the disassembly drones attacked 😅

But, here's a list of my MD OCs! :3 or at least, the OC's I think are most important XD

1. Xane- Grumpy boi Xane! XD Before he was sent to earth, he, as well as two other disassembly drone ocs, Beta and Green, had a virus implanted within them which became known as "The Dark Matter infection" (which sort of gave Cyn an easy access to, not take them as hosts, but use them as puppets instead). Although Xane loves to fight, he hates to fight when controlled by Cyn and wishes to find a cure.

Other than that, Xane may seem pretty threatening, but deep down he's a big softie (he won't admit it tho XD)

2. Eric- Eric is my worker drone oc, and possibly the main character of my AU 👀 his parents once studied the disassembly drones and the The Dark Matter infection and after their death, Eric continued their work, but also befriended Xane and helps to find a cure for him.

Eric is smart, but not a very good fighter XD but he's kind and willing to give second chances. He finds disassembly drones way more fascinating than scary too lol

3. Green - (creative name, I know TvT) Just like Xane, Green also has the Dark Matter infection. When she landed on Ebony 8, she took a lot of damage. Her weapon system was damaged beyond repair, leaving her somewhat defenceless. However, without her weapon system, she couldn't easily overheat, meaning she didn't have a need to kill worker drones for oil. She actually ended up befriending a worker drone colony and becoming sort of a protector of them. Green is pretty chill and laid back tho and not overly dramatic like Xane XD

4. Beta - Once again, he has the Dark Matter infection too 😅 he's still a character I'm developing, but from what I can say, he's a pretty jumpy and paranoid dude and always nervous. And his best friend is a cat called Milo! :3 (Beta is a major cat person XD)

5. M - M is the leader of one of the disassembly drone squads (Xane's ex-squad too). She...uh...also killed Eric's parents...heh....😅 M is also kind of in love with Xane (despite Xane not feeling the same way at all XD), but M is pretty much a psychopath. However, I do want to continue developing her and perhaps giving her some motivations to her actions. Like...I know M is pretty evil...but I do believe she might be capable of change somehow.....just gotta keep developing her character 😅

(I also don't have an image for her yet XD)

6. Cortex - one of my newer Ocs, who was originally a worker drone, but I changed him to a disassembly drone instead XD He's M's twin brother, but I haven't developed a solid backstory or personality for this character yet. All I can say I that...he's not at crazy as M 😅 I'm still also trying to decide whether he would be a villain or not, but I have been thinking of giving him a similar role to J in some way.

As an added bonus, here's a little concept of Cortex when he was still a worker drone in development 👀

But yea...those are just the OCs that I think are pretty important in my AU so far :D they're all a work in progress and will probably change over time (except Xane, of course) :3

I’m only halfway through Royal Blood’s album (I know I should be better. I’ve been slacking music wise *sigh) and it’s so much softer sounding than their other albums. I haven’t looked up the lyrics yet since I usually like to do the first listen just as is. Idk how I feel yet, but I do know I Wish I Cared Less is absolutely due for an update. Especially since I have more songs now. I have a very clear ending and it’s been the same ending I’ve planned from the beginning. I’m just not sure how I’m getting there yet cause I’ve changed my mind a million times. And though I love this verse I really think it needs to end, I don’t like when things are dragged on too long (I’m looking at you Asian dramas cause is 100+ episodes necessary!?! But also det co. Just end so I can stop caring. End my misery and don’t ship bait me cause that fucking sucks ass. I’ve been betrayed before and I’m still bitter). I opened up the doc after forever yesterday and worked on it a little. Since I’m done with the September prompts early, I’m hopefully gonna dedicate the rest of this month to finishing at least the chapter. I feel like it could end in maybe two more? I’ll be one more step closer to freedom. But that really means I won’t feel as bad when I start posting the midnights album fic (which I still need to finish too… it never ends I swear *sigh)

Update: this new fic on ao3 just got me so bad. I have to lie down. I mean I’m already laying down but Omm. I need a moment. I’m telling you CoAi fics written in Chinese just hit different

Update 2: okay now that my Steelers have won and I’m done crying over the win, I can go back to reeling over CoAi. Or I guess shinshi. If you can read fics in Chinese, do yourself a favor and read the latest fic by EvaRosalene cause it is so good! I just finished leaving my comment after thinking about it the whole day after reading it and I’m just… honestly my comment cannot hold a light to the fic, but I had to gush. I pride myself on being a great commenter, even if it’s just me rambling a lot. But it’s always genuine and it’s always me getting in my feels. !!UPDATED!! Murder Drones/Half-Life AU character bios

Welcome, welcome to City 9, one of our finest urban centers on Copper 17!

~ Citizens ~

Any worker drone that is not part of the resistance, and is not conscripted into the Combine. Live openly in the city under the harsh rule of the Combine, disassembly drones watching their every step, scanning for even the slightest sign of disobedience.

~ The Combine ~

Disassembly drones, basically. Except for metropolice who are worker drones who choose to work for them. All drones converted into DDs have their memories wiped entirely. The only exceptions to this are J, V, and N for who still have their memories but they are suppressed.

Design- They still have most of the canonical built-in weapons like claws, SMGs, blades, missiles, and B E A M. And they still adorn their signature “X” on their visors while fighting but they also have it while working in general, they mainly turn it off in casual situations. (Metrocops will adorn the “X” as well) Disassembly drones now come in different color schemes depending on their rank and role. (Look at Humanoid Combine Units for references) And they all(including metrocops) wear partial gas masks over their mouths(these are removable)!

Air Defense - Bigger and reinforced wings, stakes attached to the backs of their ankles that they can protrude downwards for anchoring to trees n such. In exchange for being able to fly for long periods of time, their bodies are not as armored so that they are lighter, making flight require less energy.

Land Defense - Digitigrade legs with goat hooves for agility and optimal ability to traverse varying terrain(and because I said so.) Smaller wings and their bodies are very reinforced for close-combat. Can only fly for short periods of time but they can glide.

Tessa James Elliott - Puppet Leader - Role: Dr. Breen The only known human left alive after the destruction of Earth and the Copper 17 core collapse. She managed to negotiate with the Absolute Solver to keep the worker drones alive and was appointed leader of the Combine on this planet. She remains in the Citadel and communicates with Cyn who tells her what to do whenever necessary.

Weapons/Tools: - Revolver - Sword - Wrench

Serial Designation J - Combine Operative(Commander) Relays orders to large groups of disassembly drones, can operate most Combine machinery, makes sure things are running smoothly, and speaks directly with Tessa. She mainly sticks around guarding the Citadel, if something(such as an uprising) threatens it and Combine control she will come to strike them down in nearly an instant. She isn’t as built for close-combat battle, she is able to fly very quickly but not for as long as air defense. Can drive APCs and pilot Hunter Choppers.

Weapons/Tools: - Disassembly Drone Stuff (Some listed weapons may be built-in) - Revolver - Grenades - Tau Cannon - Laser tripmines

Serial Designation N - Elite of Combine Air Defense He follows/leads hunter choppers or he can pilot hunter choppers. He is specifically designed for long flights and in-flight combat. Despite his higher position, he’s not very respected due to lacking intelligence and frequent hesitation causing more trouble than usually necessary.

Weapons/Tools: - Disassembly Drone Stuff (Some listed weapons may be built-in) - Pulse Rifle - Can deploy manhacks

Serial Designation V - Soldier of Combine Land Defense She guards the borders of Combine territories, making sure no unwelcome creatures from the outlands get inside the city.. Also sometimes deployed to guard places like Nova Prospekt. She is mainly designed to be able to traverse various terrain, she is still able to fly in short bursts and gliding. She can also drive APCs, set up mounted guns and turrets.

Weapons/Tools: - Disassembly Drone Stuff (Some listed weapons may be built-in) - Shotgun - Crossbow - Grenades - Hoppers - Can deploy roller mines

~ The Resistance ~

Worker drones who have decided to rebel against the Combine, refusing to submit to their abuse. However, since the death of their previous leader, Nori Doorman, their movement has been dormant. As Khan decided that everyone should go into hiding in the bunker for the sake of their daughter(him and Nori's).

Yeva - Deceased Was almost just as important to the resistance as Nori, playing a large role in getting them out of the city. Unfortunately she was killed by V along with her husband not long after the uprising fell.

Weapons/Tools: - Absolute Solver powers - Revolver - Pulse Rifle - Can hack roller mines

Nori Doorman - Former Leader(dead?) - Role: Gordon Freeman The initial starter of the resistance movement, which actually got pretty far. But it came to an abrupt end when she reached the Citadel walls and alerted J to the scene, killing Nori and many of those by her side just before they could make their final push.. At least everyone is pretty sure she’s dead?

Weapons/Tools: - Absolute Solver powers - Uzi (the gun, not her daughter) - Crowbar - S.L.A.Ms

Khan Doorman - Current Leader - Role: Eli Vance After Nori's death, he decided it was best to go into hiding with his daughter, fearing the Combine would begin hunting for them even more aggressively than they did before. He is also developing a patch for the absolute solver in secret, originally for his wife but now he hopes he can save his daughter.

Weapons/Tools: - Wrench - Pistol - Shotgun

Uzi Doorman - Role: Alyx Vance + Gordon Freeman Infuriated by her father’s cowardice for stalling the resistance movement, believing it nullifies everything her mother worked for. She wants to finish the job her mother started, and she will end up doing just that with the help of an unusual disassembly drone named N.

Weapons/Tools: - Crowbar (Nori’s) - Railgun (From the show) - Alyx’s gun (Modified Pistol) - RPG (Rocket Launcher) - Gravity Gun - S.L.A.Ms - EMP Tool - Absolute Solver powers (acquired much later)

Thad - Metrocop - Role: Barney Calhoun He’s another metrocop but he’s not in on Doll’s scheme. He’s just a metrocop for spying and it’s just useful to have rebel drones who can use Combine tech. But.. no one’s seen him in a while..

Weapons/Tools: - Disassembly drone headband (A headband with the 5 small extra eyes that disassembly drones have. Unlike actual DDs tho, the headband is only wired into the head instead of welded) - Gloves with retractable blades (Wolverine hands basically, when the user makes a fist, 3 blades protrude from their knuckles) - Booster Boots (Increase user’s agility and jump height, also protect the user from fall-related injury) - Extra arm & Leg armor (To look more like the disassembly drones and protect those limbs as they will NOT regenerate) - Partial Gasmask (same as DD’s) - Stun Baton - Pistol - SMG - Baseball Bat

Alice - Role: Father Grigori ??????

Doll - Double agent, Spy on the Resistance - Role: Dr. Mossman (Mitchell HDTF) Lives in the bunker with the resistance. She seems to have some kind of deal going with J to provide information and in return protection from the Combine. Promising to retrieve the patch from Khan, in exchange for protection and being able to avenge her parents by killing V.

Weapons/Tools: - Absolute Solver powers - Metal Pipe - Revolver

Lizzy - Triple agent, Metrocop Works for Doll, doesn’t know her entire scheme but she goes along with whatever Doll tells her anyways. Like joining the metropolice under the guise of being a spy on the Combine, but to the Combine she claims to be a spy on the resistance and giving them information to back it up. Can set up turrets and mounted guns.

Weapons/Tools: - Disassembly drone headband - Gloves with retractable blades - Booster Boots - Extra arm & Leg armor - Partial Gasmask - Stun baton - Pistol - Sniper Rifle

Cyn - True leader of the Combine - Role: G-Man + Overwatch No one but J knows there is someone above Tessa pulling all the strings. She let Tessa live, making her leader and assigned J, N, and V their ranks, allowing them all keep their memories as long as they stayed in line.

~ Outland Creatures ~

Eldritchs - Disassembly drones who’ve been damaged beyond what their regeneration is capable of fixing, requiring material from outside sources. Sometimes this is viable, but usually it is advised to just destroy eldritchs immediately as they will violently massacre and destroy anything that contains the material it needs, even other disassembly drones. These beings take on many forms and can create very convincing holograms of those they kill to lure prey, so one should never approach random figures in the outlands.

Note: because of this, disassembly drones have a fail-safe trigger that disables regeneration if it detects a certain amount of weight lost. (indicating severe damage that could lead to becoming eldritch.) Of course this fail-safe can fail to trigger or trigger unnecessarily(falsely detecting significant weight loss) sometimes.

Heartcrabs - The cores of disassembly drones and solver-afflicted drones that can no longer return to their bodies(likely entirely destroyed). Similar to the eldritchs, they may start looking for a new body by attacking living drones; this doesn’t work well and creates aggressive zombie-like drones.

Anti-Drone Sentinels - Quick, aggressive robotic raptors that emit bright flashes of light to boot-loop any drone who looks at it, rendering them immobile until a reboot can be done. They move in packs in the outlands, it’s rumored a few drones have learned how to tame them.
