NetworkMAT: Streetscaping 001 (Sidewalks & Sewers)
Tumblr media
Published: 5-23-2024 | Updated: 7-16-2024 (+hood visibility) SUMMARY “Accentuate the streets, pedestrian paths, and roadsides in your city …” “Rubberall is made from upcycled rubber, metal, and other materials. It's ten and a half times weather resistant as regular rubber and twice a pretty. Order it in bulk today!” “Build a functional water and waste management system in your city…” Another edition to the Network Materials (networkMAT) (Simmons, 2022-2024) series! This modular set includes 80 low poly objects for pedestrian paths, sidewalks, decorative foundations, and other roadside streetscaping. Objects are designed to be used with the Streets of 2morrow (Simmons, 2023) set  - but they’ll work without them just fine. There are also matching neon curb lights. How about functional sewer/water management networks?! You also get a canal, tunnel, deco, and functional items for making your own sewer network. The drains will clear the lot of any unattended puddles and garbage every few hours – visible exhaust rises from them during this process. The utility box and pipes earn the lot owner a small credit at each billing cycle – SimCity rewards good infrastructure!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
DETAILS Requires all EPs/SPs. §0 and §100-1000 for lights/bollards, §300-1000 for sewer items Build > Architecture/Columns and Buy > Lighting/Plumbing/Electronics > Misc Most objects are repo’d to the BBNiche1Master (BuggyBooz, 2012) and/or Element Repository, which are both in the Repo Pack (Simmons, 2022). Don’t forget to grab some recolors – I recommend the “element” set HERE (Simmons, 2023) for the sewage water/material. See the following tags for more swatches: #co2recolors, #ts2recolors, #ts2repo #co2repo #co2repopack IMPORTANT:
2-click objects are for 2-click/step foundations and foundation pieces are for default foundations/stages. Still – you’ll be able to mix and match in a variety of ways.
You’ll need “move object on/off” and “grid on/off” cheats to place some objects.
Foundation pieces match default foundations/decks which are slightly larger than a 1x1 tile space. They will overlap slightly – so depending on your design, you may want to shift things around with cheats.
Some items are asymmetrical/oversized so they’ll fit better with others in the set and give the paths a bit of a “distressed” look.
The 1x1/2x2 round corners use angled (not rounded) curves; this detail is apparent when you apply solid color txtr’s to them.
Some lights are repo’d to the neon plutonium rod (Nightlife EP) and will use the same light colors.
There is a short tutorial for this set HERE.
ITEMS SIDEWALKS

2-Click Platforms, Planters, and Ramps (12-100 poly) 4-Click Foundations (32-64 poly) Bollards 001-002 (230-262 poly) – Bollard 001 is repo’d to the Plutonium Rod (Nightlife EP) Step Covers (Steps/Ramp) (~18-24 poly) -place with cheats; – center/side pieces work as Rubberall Platform 1x1/2x1 (20 poly) Rubberall Ramp Cover 1x1 (66 poly) Rubberall Corner (Left/Right) (96 poly) Rubberall Curb (14 poly) Just8, 1x1 Transition Curb Left (24 poly) Just8, 1x1 Transition Curb Right (24 poly) Just8, 1x1 Transition Platform (44 poly) Lighting (166-332 poly) Solo, 1x1 Planter (20 poly) Solo, 2x2 Planter (20 poly) Urban Future 4, 1x1 Curb (66 poly) – curb MESH; includes invisible recolor other curbs, curves, corner, and accent pieces (6-305 poly) SEWERS 001

Utility Wires (896 poly) Zogorman Drains (1x1 /3x1) (42-126 poly) K76 Drains (1x1/2x2/Raised) (728-744 poly) DOWNLOAD (choose one) from SFS | from MEGA COMPATIBILITY Compatible with Shiftable Everything (Lamare, 2022) and Object Freedom (Fway, 2023). The Timeless Charm of Brocante: Why We Love This Vintage-Inspired Style
Tumblr media
When it comes to interior design, few styles capture the romance and nostalgia of the past quite like Brocante. Rooted in French culture, the term “brocante” refers to flea markets or second-hand goods, yet its essence transcends simple thrift shopping. Brocante is an artful mix of vintage elegance, rustic charm, and a touch of whimsy that creates a warm, lived-in atmosphere. But why does this style resonate so deeply with design enthusiasts? Let’s dive into the world of Brocante and uncover its enduring appeal.
What Defines Brocante Style?
At its core, Brocante style is about breathing new life into old treasures. It thrives on the beauty of imperfection, celebrating items that show the passage of time. Think antique furniture with distressed finishes, mismatched dinnerware with delicate patterns, weathered textiles, and handmade details.
Brocante isn’t about creating a flawless, museum-like environment. Instead, it embraces a curated, eclectic look where each piece has a story to tell. Key elements of Brocante interiors include:
Vintage Furniture: French armoires, wooden dining tables with chipped paint, or upholstered chairs with faded fabrics.
Soft Color Palettes: Muted tones like white, beige, pastels, and soft greys dominate the color scheme, creating a serene and cohesive atmosphere.
Decorative Accessories: Chandeliers, ornate mirrors, vintage clocks, and delicate porcelain or ceramic items.
Natural Materials: Linen, cotton, aged wood, and wrought iron bring texture and authenticity.
Why Do People Love Brocante Style?
Tumblr media
1. Nostalgia and Sentimentality
Brocante offers a connection to the past, reminding us of simpler times. The style evokes a sense of history and craftsmanship, often lost in mass-produced modern design. Each item feels like a treasure, full of character and charm.
2. Sustainability and Upcycling
In a world increasingly aware of environmental impact, Brocante’s emphasis on repurposing and reusing is not only appealing but also ethical. By giving old items a second life, this style promotes sustainable living while creating unique and personal interiors.
3. A Warm and Inviting Atmosphere
Brocante interiors are inherently cozy. The use of aged materials, soft lighting, and layered textures makes spaces feel welcoming and lived-in. Unlike minimalist styles, Brocante thrives on personality and comfort.
4. A Celebration of Individuality
No two Brocante spaces are alike. This style encourages creativity and self-expression, allowing homeowners to mix and match pieces that reflect their personal taste. Whether it’s a flea market find or a cherished family heirloom, every item has its place.
5. A Romantic Aesthetic
With its delicate details, ornate decorations, and emphasis on softness, Brocante is undeniably romantic. It appeals to those who dream of rustic French cottages, rose-filled gardens, and the charm of provincial life.
How to Incorporate Brocante Into Your Home
Tumblr media
You don’t need to overhaul your entire home to embrace Brocante style. Here are some simple ways to start:
Shop Vintage and Flea Markets: Look for unique pieces like wooden crates, vintage picture frames, or enamel kitchenware.
Mix Old with New: Combine antique furniture with modern accents to create a balanced and harmonious space.
Embrace Imperfections: Don’t shy away from scratches, faded fabrics, or chipped paint – they add authenticity.
Focus on Textures: Layer linens, rugs, and cushions for a cozy, tactile feel.
Add Personal Touches: Display collections, photographs, or handmade crafts to make the space your own.
In Conclusion
Tumblr media
Brocante style is more than just an aesthetic – it’s a lifestyle. It’s about cherishing the past, embracing imperfection, and finding beauty in the everyday. Whether you’re an avid flea market hunter or someone looking to add a touch of vintage charm to your home, Brocante offers endless possibilities. Its timeless appeal lies in its authenticity, warmth, and the stories it tells, making it a favorite for those who value heart and soul in their interiors.
Are you ready to bring a touch of Brocante into your life? Happy treasure hunting!

As with ALL my builds, you're going to want to have bb.moveobjects ON before placing the lot and I DID use TOOL to place some of the more complicated tweaks.

Functionality
These mods are not technically in the build but are needed to have mods (syboulette's crossfit and aira's rice cooker specifically) functional.
ZulfAndHakrabr: Let's Get Fits Modpack Ricky: Useable RiceCooker
Vehicles
Technically, the two vehicles used for this build use the the Breeze Motors 2018 Mercedes E-Class Wagon and the 2020 Maserati Quattroporte as their base. I won't link to the download page as its a perma-paywaller and I fundamentally disagree with how Breeze Motors is handling their patreon personally. I will leave it to you to decide if you want their CC and how you acquire it if you choose to do so.
For my personal game, I have edited and stripped down my copies of these two cars and modified them so that they work with Simnation Travel. I have a pinned patreon post that is not paywall locked here explaining that more in depth and include the required files HERE.
If you go that route, and would like to download the cars, you can find them here:
Maserati Quattroporte
Mercedes E-Class
I should note that in addition to lacking the door open /close options of the original as those were stripped down, the textures were redone with simlish for a more maxis match look in game.
Mods for this Build
These are not technically required for the build to function but this build was built using overrides for both Sim Realist's SNB Bills mod as well as Simnation Travel vehicles. You shouldn't get any weird errors if you load the build in without those mods but if there's an exception caught by MCC related to that, it's probably just reconciling that the override the lot was built with is not in place in your game. It should only be a one time alert the first time the game loads in if it happens and should not cause any issue other than MCC making a noise at you about it noticing weirdness.
(The SNB provides the High Speed Internet trait to the lot and I think it will just set that trait to empty if its loaded without but I haven't personally confirmed it, hence the note here. ) Additional Note
I'm pushing this to live today just to make sure it hits my tumblr the same time as I pushed the build to my gallery but I will be going back to add links into the list. There are just a LOT to track down and it might take me a day or two to finish that part.

The main character in my Twitch playthrough of Scarlet Hollow is... interesting. Here are some fun facts about them so far:
Their name is Boiled Peanut. Boiled Peanut Scarlet.
They're agender. I suspect they've never had a gender.
They deliberately eat spoiled food and equally deliberately wait for the moment of maximum impact on others to throw up.
Their first instinct upon being given an order is to do the opposite.
They have no boundaries and see no reason why anyone else should.
They are a master of breaking and entering.
They live rent-free in a 12x16 shed on a rich old man's property who thinks they're his gardener.
To make money, they steal other people's stuff, paint it, and sell it on Etsy as "upcycled decor".
They are really into wellness - you know, Yoga, centeredness, overall balance, mindfulness... Which means they are extremely self aware about their actions and do them anyway.
The only people they are unqualified nice to are animals (which they can talk to) and people they can relate to, like Wayne and Reese.
We suspect they may themselves be some brand of cryptid.

Do your fankids have special family traditions for Christmas? If so, which ones?
Hmmmm... Not entirely sure. I mean, all of them celebrate Gyftmas, as opposed to Christmas, which was actually in the game and is a holiday of giving gifts as an apology to Gyftrot after a bunch of teens decorated them. The holiday's are very similar, so it doesn't really matter.
I suppose with the Blook kids, Papyrus still regularly hosts the annual holiday party, which Broadway, Rexi, Playbill and Chicago sometimes help with. Broadway's favorite part is decorating with glare Dadaton, Rexi enjoys picking out the playlist, Playbill enjoys cooking with Papyrus and coming up with some gizmo or other to help, and Chicago likes helping with the Holiday Maze.
For the DF kids, I can't think of anything too special they'd do. Mostly just imagine Toriel making Gyftmas pies. Sariel likes to help bake them, while CK's favorite part is eating them.
The Pisces family (Alphyne) would likely have a binge-fest of different anime holiday specials leading up to Gyftmas, where they'd watch the Mew Mew Kissy Cutie Christmas Special on Gyftmas Eve. I also imagine on Gyftmas Day, they have an ice hockey match. Usually just between Giko, Naomi, and Undyne though, since Izuku and Alphys aren't the biggest on sports. The kids might invite some of their friends over, and Undyne might invite Paps over.
For Britni's family, Catty and Bratty go all out both at home and at Trash Mart. Britni finds it a little irritating to be honest, but she enjoys making upcycled ornaments and hand-crafting gifts. Britni's family always hand-makes gifts, not necessarily because they're cheap, but it's more fun that way. Britni also regularly enjoys comparing the similarities between Gyftmas and Christmas, and studying some of the Pagan origins of the holiday. As well as constantly wondering "How/why did they insert Jesus into this?"
Wilbur spends a lot of the Holiday season with his Pops, Asgore, as well as with Noelle and Exriel, as those two interact with the old goat man the most. As a result, Wilbs has a few Gyftmas traditions. He, Exriel, and Asgore try and fail to make cookies, Wilbur often creates gingerbread houses with Noelle, Asgore finds ways to let Wilbur be "Santa's little helper", Exriel gets Wilbur's help with winter gardening in the greenhouse and some of his botany experiments, etc. All of it leads up to Gyftmas Eve where Wilbur spends the day at Noelle and Suzy's house until later in the evening when they head to the Gyftmas tree.
All of them though share one tradition that's a special Gyftmas tradition from all the way back in the Underground. On Gyftmas Eve, everyone will gather around a big tree that the whole community helped decorate and exchange presents. It's become a big an extravagant event since the Monsters have come to the Surface. Now the exchange works by throughout the season, people will leave gifts for people under the tree. Both for their friends, family, loved ones, and even a few unmarked ones to go to anyone who didn't get any gifts from anyone else. On Gyftmas Eve, Santa (who's definitely not just Asgore in a costume) will sit down and read out the names so people can come up and receive their gifts. It goes in alphabetical order and it's a big event, so he usually doesn't get through the whole list before he has to go, but he still tries. After he inevitably has to leave, people are allowed to just grab the gifts themselves. With the assistance of Santa's helpers so nothing bad happens. People are also allowed to pick up gifts all the way until January 6th when the tree comes down and any unclaimed gifts are donated to charity.

Creative DIY Garden Projects for Upcycling Old Items
Do you remember the day when you bought your first plant in a pretty pot? If yes, then you might know your this gardening hobby can turn into an expensive hobby. So, it would be better to turn the focus to upcycling. Get ready to turn all your garden ideas into reality without even burning a hole in your bank account.
It is a rewarding and creative activity to create upcycled garden projects by using junk, otherwise, that junk will end up in a landfill. Also, you can elevate and decorate your yard on a budget. From creating tire planters to repurposing window greenhouses, let our inspiring ideas turn your boring garden into a stunning one.
Creative DIY Garden Projects for Upcycling Old Items
1) Tire Planters
You can transform your old tires into charming planters which will suit your garden perfectly. First, clean your tires thoroughly, then paint them using weather-resistant paint. After they get dry, you can stack multiple tires on top of each other. You can secure them by using adhesive or drill holes and use zip ties. At last, fill those tires with soil and small shrubs, herbs, or plant flowers.
2) Pallet Vertical Garden
Wooden pallets can be easily repurposed into a vertical garden. Just stand the pallet in an upright direction, then on the back and sides attach landscaping fabric by using a staple gun or staples. It would be better to use potting soil to fill the spaces left between the pallet slats and then plant small flowers, herbs, or succulents. Remember to lean the pallet against a fence or wall, and finally, you can watch your vertical garden getting flourish.
3) Vintage Toolbox Herb Garden
Yes, you heard right, your worn-out and old toolbox can be turned into a beautiful herb garden. For this, clean your toolbox thoroughly and make sure there is no chemical residue left. If there is a requirement to add drainage holes, then go for it. Also, line it by using small pots or plastic sheets because they will prevent your soil from leaking out. Now, use potting soil to fill the toolbox and plant whatever is your favorite herb, like rosemary, basil, etc.
4) Bicycle Wheel Trellis
In the case of climbing plants like morning glories, you can utilize your old bicycle wheel for creating a unique trellis. As a next step, attach the wheel horizontally to a wall or fence, then secure it by using wire or screws. With this growth of plants, you can guide them by the wheel spokes, which will allow them to create a stunning visual display by climbing.
5) Tea Cup Bird Feeder
Use your vintage tea cups and saucers to transform them into adorable bird feeders. Through the center of the saucer and cup, you can drill a small hole. To secure them, you can thread a wooden or metal dowel through the holes and use nuts on both ends. Use a strong adhesive at the bottom of your cup, then attach it to the saucer to create a perch for the birds. You can hang the feeder from a shepherd's hook or a tree branch, and now, you can use birdseed to fill the cup.
6) Colander Hanging Basket
It's time to give a new life to your old colander by turning them into a hanging basket for flowers. Look for a colander having handles and must consider their drainage. You can make drill holes at the bottom and around the side. Use a landscaping fabric or coco liner to line the colander. Finally, add potting soil and start planting vibrant blooms such as pansies. For hanging the colander from a pergola or a porch, you can attach sturdy ropes or chains to the handles.
7) Repurposed Window Greenhouse
For plant propagation or seed starting, you can convert your old window frame into a mini greenhouse. Make sure to clean the window thoroughly, then remove any kind of broken or loose glass. Now, take one side of the window frame to attach hinges that allow it to work like a door, such as opening and closing. You can place the window frame over your raised garden bed or just build a custom frame and secure it by using screws. Finally, at the top, add a glass sheet or transparent plastic. Your charming greenhouse is all set to nurture the plants.
Conclusion
With these above-mentioned fantastic ways, you can add an eco-friendly and unique touch to your garden. Don't forget to consider the suitability and weather resistance of the materials you're using outdoors. All you need is just some upcycled materials and little creativity. After that, you can turn your garden into an environmentally friendly oasis.
