[RECALIBRATE] How frequently does your muse evaluate their own ways of thinking? Have they little self-insight/feel set in their minds for better or worse, or are they constantly questioning their own outlook? To the point of self-doubt, even? <3

Chishiya almost never evaluates his own way of thinking. He's confident in how he thinks and knows he's the smartest in the room. Or, in a rare case, there's someone else of equal, if different, intellect. He doesn't need to evaluate how he thinks because it works FOR HIM. And that's what matters. He's always operated this way, ever since he was younger to how is now. He's never really CHANGED his approach and he doesn't learn to either.

He's not someone to reevaluate how he thinks because of other's emotions or a situation that would typically be considered 'TRAUMATIC' to others. Even if how he thinks is considered heartless. ( And it is.) Efficiency is what matters to him. He can adjust to new information and new perspectives, but that still falls in line with his typical thinking. He's very aware of how he thinks and he's perfectly content with it. HE OWNS IT.

( At least up until the rare instance of emotions getting involved and messing with his thinking but in that case his reaction is typically to PUSH IT AWAY or not acknowledge the why when he's doing something. )

Ann on the other hand is more fluid when it comes to her thinking. She has a fairly solid grasp of how she thinks. PRACTICAL and LOGICAL, but NOT HEARTLESS. In this same vein of recognition though, she IS aware that sometimes her emotions do drive her actions and ways of thought. She acknowledges that much about herself and sometimes it can make her question her thoughts or approach to particular situations. By no means is she a bleeding heart - she WILL make hard decisions and emotions don't possess her so to speak. Rather, they might alter HOW she approaches a situation. And this she is aware of.

. With Ann, her work both in crime scene investigations as well as later in the forensics labs tends to play a large role. She's constantly exposed or needs to consider different perspectives. Yes, she has her general way of thinking that she sticks with. But working with detectives, other forensic scientists, etc, also exposes you to a lot of DIFFERENT ways of thinking. As such, Ann's way of thinking has changed throughout her life. Other ways of thinking generally tend to be more of a SECONDARY way of thinking for her. She has HER way of thinking, but when it comes to working on cold cases or in some games in the Borderlands, she might call on other types of thinking or at least consider them. Self-doubt is very rare with her, though it is more likely to happen with her rather than Chishiya. / @united-as-one

"Things used to be a lot easier back then. We didn't have to worry about getting caught -- I bet I can go out and get something. I'm not nearly as popular." Getting snuck in to the dorm was difficult enough without being recognized. Doyun just didn't think she could stand another night of delivery when she was violently craving ramen and cheap convivence food.

All necessary sacrifices that still held weight even after all these years. Despite their relationship forced to end when they started their trainee years, Doyun still kept in close contact and always kept up her support, though keeping a respectable distance as to not crowd. It was easier for her to handle a dating scandal as influencers weren't held to the same standards as idols were. She got caught, people would talk for a week, then it would be over. If they got caught, with her, then it would be career ending for them both.

"Come on." Doyun nudged her knee against their side from where she sat relaxed against the couch, grinning, keeping a playful smile as she tried to convince them. "I'll get us all the snacks you want, you just gotta tell me. I'll be gone twenty minutes." As much as she loved the idea of actually going out, there was always that risk their now friendship would be discovered and blown out of proportion. Even after all this time, they still had a place in her heart, though Doyun knew nothing could ever happen. It was better to have them in her life rather than cutting them out forever.

Though they couldn't recreate their high school memories of getting cheap convivence food together, perhaps she could bring it back as they enjoyed yet another night locked in their group dorm. At this point it was their only exclusive meet up since the security was tighter at their building compared to hers -- no one had caught her, yet.

yoojoon wasn't quite sure what he was looking at. sure, it looked real, but... it couldn't be, right? maybe it was some elaborate magic trick or some illusion, even if he wasn't sure how that would be done. sure, he had found instances in his history books where people believed in mages, demons and all things of the sort — but yoojoon didn't think they were true. to him, it had just always been a figment of their imagination, a way to explain things that they didn't know yet how to explain rationally.

still, at that moment, yoojoon didn't know what to believe. it was like there were two halves of him each with their own thoughts about the matter, but he didn't know which to listen. the hesitation he felt at that moment was clear both in his demeanor and tone of voice when he finally spoke up. " i think you must really have the wrong person. " that was all he could say, but there wasn't any certainty in the way he spoke. could he trust the other after everything he had said? probably not — maybe he was about to get murdered in this abandoned place, body never to be found. and yet, yoojoon still followed him, even if cautiously. " i... where is that going? " or rather, what the fuck was happening?

Chanyeol watches the reaction of the surprised young man before him, magical properties and energies still harnessing around his fingertips before allowing it to fade. He sighs before nodding, the detective pocketing his talismans and walking over to the stranger, gentle hand placed upon the shoulder of the confused individual. "You're right, you can't do any of this. Well, can't do any of it yet." He affirms, placing his calling card into the pocket of the college student. "I've been where you are, confused. And yet, I feel something within you... Your words reject it, but your body will not."

The sorcerer guides Yoojoon further into the abandoned building and clicking his fingers, a blue crack in reality ripping open with a destination on the other side, seemingly an innocent office. "This is no dream. Magic in this era is a rarity for a reason, the people don't think we need it anymore but it's been centuries since I've had the chance to show humanity more. Please give me this opportunity, I won't force you to join me... But I can make your life easier at least."

Chanyeol steps into the rift first, emerging on the other side with a cool breath before turning and waving at the young man on the other side, "You can call me Chanyeol by the way! Don't call me sir or mister, it makes me feel old!" He jokes before settling down at his desk and as the rift crackles and nears closure, the detective hopes Yoojoon joins him... At least before the rift completely closes, god forbid he travels as it closes.
