outer satin top w symbol: hand sewn beads on butchered thrift store top. beads are from a broken bracelet my gramma gave me. had to chop the back up then pin it together with the safetypin-hairtie-safetypin manuver bcs it is maybe 10 sizestoo small

translucent black flowy top/skirt-like garment: bathing suit cover, pieces thrifted separately but from same source somehow

red top underneath: thrift store, butchered neckline. had to also pin this up in the back

red cross black velvet skirt: base thrifted, butchered/burnt/painted w fabric paint. birthday gift from my brother 3-4 years ago

rosary: thrifted, broken as fuck

cross earrings: crosses found on etsy, put on hoop earrings by me

silver hoops: thrifted a whole pack of them og from claires a while back. Score!

green large shiny decora earrings: thrifted

boots: 6yo clearance mens demonias, broke in the middle of this cosplay. had these bitches since i was 16!!!! 30$

corset: some cheap crap from amazon i got a few years back ill wear until i can afford an orchardcorset or it breaks entirely. cannot stress enough how much i do not reccomend wearing cheap corsets

contacts: i thiiink ifairy cara green. uniqso. tip: colored contacts absolutely make or break a cosplay. good to splurge on

makeup: everything green via eyeshadow/lipstick made by me. slowly in the process of formulating all my makeup bcs im very allergic to everything. black eyeliner is nyx, one pencil one felt tip. used on eyebrows/lips too. dont bother w lipliners/eyebrow products they r expensive and eyeliner/eyeshadow works perfectly well.

eyelashes: top were from local beauty supply, bottom lashes were like. wet n wild crap i got from a relative that i chopped up.

gray paint: mehron paradise, get it from the OG website if u dont need it quickly and want it a lil cheaper

fangs: cheap amazon bullshit. u can find fangs in bulk anywhere there no matter the seller theyre all from the same manufacturer so u always know ur getting cheap fucking crap

wig: CHEAP lace front from some beauty store clearance bin in DC, styled to hell and back

horns: made by meeee (model magic + modge podge/plaster outrecoat bcs model magic cracks like a bitch, i only use the low tier acrylics bcs who the fuck is gonna pay 20$ for a tube of something u can just layer a few times to get opaque)

armsocks: welovecolors (spraypainted w white cos i bought the dark gray instead if light gray like a dumbass, heavily abused). i highly reccomend welovecolors seamless armsock/seamless bodysuit line im trying to get their bodysuit at some point. expensive (45$ for the socks, 90$ for the bodysuit) but worth it bcos homemade armsocks rip stupid easily and id rather break my skull than paint my hands.

nails: cheap shit from sallys, painted w my mommas 10+ year old nail polish collection

i think thats it? yeah. its all cheap crap. all i can reccomend is find a local non-chain non-christianity based thrift store and go to town man . im not out here buying premade bullshit that i aint able to make myself! i dont ever spend a fortune on my cosplays. i find scarcity is key in innovation and creativity. use lots of safety pins. cheers.

Photo Dump from Indy’s Very Own Popcon!

Just to be clear, this was not my only cosplay for this three day event! However, Saturday (yesterday) was the biggest day with the most events, so I did my best cosplay for it! On Friday I was John Marston and my friend was Arthur Morgan from RDR2, and today I just went in a simple gyaru makeup look!

But that’s not what you’re here for!

Here’s my Black Jack cosplay just a few months late of the 50th anniversary year of the series. I knew that since my face is very round and that I have a button nose I wouldn’t be able to do a “one for one” cosplay look that I think would do him justice. So instead of working against my body, I created a look that embraced it… I call it Drag Jack!

Please understand that this was my first ever time doing this cosplay so I ended up putting the skin patch on the wrong side of the face (it’s actually the correct side of the face the wig just is backwards and I forget to flip it), but also I didn’t do the scar on his chin either because I forgot as well, let alone any other scars on my body. Next time I did this cosplay I’ll make sure to fix it!

Full body shot, even though this was in the convention center bathrooms the tile gives that sterile hospital look so I mess with it.

Head shots, as you can tell I’m not good at choosing locations for my photos. I plan on redoing it with better photos and not gluing my brows, so stay tuned!

I really should’ve Got2Be’d those spike before I left house… the strands are everywhere.

Ai No Hoshi Maid Cafe! They were a lotta fun! If you’re in the Indiana, Ohio, or Kentucky area and plan on going to a con make sure to check if they’ll be there too! Highly recommend, one of the butlers was a fellow Doctor!

Advice for Cosplaying BJ

WET-DRY MAKEUP METHOD!!!! The Wet-Dry method of makeup is used in Drag makeup and many other makeup genres to set face paint or heavy makeup. For Black Jack’s face patch you’re going to want to start with a wet facepaint color and then set it with translucent setting powder so it doesn’t only stay all day, but also looks more matte and not porous. Next time I do this look, I plan to use more so my skin looks a bit flatter.

CREAM CONTOURS!!!! Use a cream based contour to contour your nose, cheekbones, and temples. If you use a powdered contour it will come off VERY easily and it will be hard to get a clean line with. I relied on these cream contours mostly for my nose since, again, I have a button nose so I really wanted to contour that to at least make it look a little thinner and longer.

SAFETY PIN YOUR BOW!!! If you want a bow that looks “cartoony” you won’t get that just by tying a red ribbon around your neck. I sewed and glued my bow then safety pinned it my collar to appear like it was standing up on its own. It’s cute!

WEAR TIGHTS (if you’re doing this specific black jack look lmfao)!!! If I did not wear those tights way too much of my hip would be showing. I’m personally not comfort showing that much of my body, so I wore tights underneath my fishnets. But you do you! I like the darker color since it sorta looks like I’m wearing see through dark tights but matching your skin tone as close as possible can make it seem like you aren’t wearing tights at all even if you actually are! Highly recommend!

DON’T FORGET YOUR EAR!!! This isn’t required but I think it looks nice to put a bit of face paint on your ear to look like the skin patch covers that area as well as your face. It’s a bit more cohesive but also doesn’t matter too much.

DON’T BE AFRAID TO BE CAMPY!!! Black Jack’s character is over-the-top and exaggerated, so you shouldn’t be afraid to do the same. If I really wanted this to be Drag Jack, I would’ve done an entire drag makeup look and I think that would be PERFECT if someone better than I at that kind of makeup does it! The bigger the bow the better too! Get some props like a kids toy stethoscope or a mask or gloves! Monopoly money too haha!!!

Any Silco fans interested in a little gender-bend of our favorite crime/drug lord?

I shot with Justin Pineda at Colossalcon North this November and he sent me the proofs. The bar and arcade area were serving up the best vibes for us.

Crafting details: Cosplay made entirely by me (with a the exception of a friend 3D printing the shimmer vial caps for me) and features flat-lined pants, gold leafed accessories, fully lined coat with pockets, foil HTV details, and removeable boot covers. The shimmer fluid is actually UV reactive pigments in baby oil.

The scars are rigid collodion from Mehron (tried to do latex prosthetics but my skin had a bad reaction to the adhesive) and contact lenses are from Uniqso. Wig is from Wig is Fashion

Finally getting back on this app after a few years. I'd like to reintroduce my cosplays with my current hyper fixation Renfield! I worship this movie and my partner and I were planning our cosplays before we even left the theater. 🦇🖤❤️

The Costume:

1. Wig and Contacts: Wig was purchased from wigisfashion. Cut and Styled by my beautiful Dracula. Contacts are from Uniqso.

2. Undershirt and Sweater: The undershirt I bought at a thrift store. My partner IDed the sweater for me. It's the screen accurate Polo Ralph Lauren Men Vtg Preppy Color Block Sweater (I'm wearing a size small).

3. Pants: Purchased at the thrift store and altered the legs to be tighter.

4. Socks and Shoes: I don't know the exact socks he's wearing but I found a close pair on Amazon and my shoes weren't screen accurate but I'm waiting for the New Balance pair to arrive in the mail.

Where do you get your contacts from???

Hello ^^

I usually try to buy my lenses in-person from stores and that usually limits me to vendors at cons or the occasional Manga or Halloween Store who have a few coloured contacts to sell.

But in the past I have purchased from ttd eye and kazzue eyes who have some great options for both cosplay and more natural looking contacts (my personal favourite are the angel blue ones from kazzue) and obv uniqso is also a good option when it comes to just cosplay lenses

Shoot, just seeing this!! I use Mehron Paradise for body paint (the trick for me is using a brush for application & leaning towards a thin base coat & a thick second coat! For cons/long shoots I set my face with hairspray, of all things! (Very rough sensory-wise, though. If that sounds like a nightmare, I recommend Ben Nye setting spray!) Also get a good water based primer because Mehron is water based paint! In terms, of contacts, I use UNIQSO contacts- just make sure to soak them in proper contact solution before you put them in!

I needed new blue lenses for multiple cosplays, so I decided to try a different pair from what I usually order. The first thing I noticed is that these lenses weren't as comfortable as the other lenses I get from Uniqso. However, it's easily ignored. The color works amazingly on brown eyes. Keep in mind that these pics were taken in white light, so in natural lighting they may appear darker.

So, one of the big reasons I always wanted to cosplay Mairon in his First Age form was so that I could do a Lord of Werewolves photoshoot with my boy -- I loved including Bear in my cosplays, but, being an 85lb husky, he didn't really make sense with most of the characters I cosplay.

Well, the pandemic happened and lots of things in real life changed (living situation, mental health, jobs, money, etc.) and you never have as much time as you think you do, and I wasn't able to get this cosplay together before he died. He had the most gorgeous head I've ever seen on any creature, so I chose to get his skull preserved when I had him aquamated.

So... still shooting with him, and even if it's not how I ever imagined this photoshoot would be, I'm happy that I still get to include one of my best friends. I miss him so fucking much ♡
