Chapter Thirty-Two: Volatile
| AO3 | FFN |
Because no matter how confused she was, how complicated everything between them had become, she knew he would do anything for her: defend her from slimy snakes, carry her books, pour her juice. And, in turn, she would do anything for him.
Because, apparently, it was Hermione and Draco against the world.
Nothing else mattered.

The Psalm 119 teaches the importance of God's law, because without it there is no blessedness for man. This is why the Psalm begins by teaching what it consists of the true beatitude, not in that false happiness that depends on the apparent goods, but in that true happiness that is born from proximity to the nature of God: "Blessed are those whose ways are blameless, who walk according to the law of the LORD. Blessed are those who keep his statutes and seek him with all their heart— they do no wrong but follow his ways" Psalm 119:1-3. And the Psalm also adds something to the study and explanation of the law, the law is not only the fulfillment of the commandments but it is also that grace that is necessary to understand it with the heart. And an example of this was King Solomon who in a dream in the sacred place of Gibeon asked God for a heart capable of listening. Like Solomon, all people who are faithful to the law must ask for that love of God (Agape) that comes from above and that allows listening from the heart. How beautiful is the law and how beautiful is grace the Psalm tells us insistently. And so the Psalm is not reduced to a psalm dedicated to the excellence of the law, but also the psalm is a psalm of devotion and adoration to God, requesting his grace that he grants to men through his mercy, that is why the psalm says: "May your unfailing love come to me, LORD, your salvation, according to your promise; then I can answer anyone who taunts me, for I trust in your word. Never take your word of truth from my mouth, for I have put my hope in your laws. I will always obey your law, for ever and ever" Psalm 119:41-44.

4th Sunday of Advent-2023 It's Christmas eve
On this 4th Sunday before Christmas, we light the peace candle. The candle we lit on the First Sunday of Advent was the prophecy candle which symbolized the hope the coming Messiah brings to mankind. The second was the Bethlehem candle which reminded us of Mary and Joseph’s journey to Bethlehem. The third candle symbolized the Shepherd’s joy at the birth of the Messiah. Today we light the Angel…

As many prophets had anticipated, particularly Isaiah and Jeremiah, the sin of idolatry and the corruption led to the destruction of the kingdoms of Israel and Judah, the first at the hands of the Assyrian empire, and the latter at the hands of the Babylonian empire. After these events there was little room for hope, only the tribe of Judah managed to firmly survive these terrible events, and particularly thanks to the action of Darius the Great, a Messiah moved by God, who conquered the Babylonian empire and allowed the return of the exiled Jews to their homeland. The Psalm 85 is a Psalm that recalls the difficulties that the Jewish people had to endure after their return from Mesopotamia and especially during the reconstruction of the walls of Jerusalem and the second temple of the holy city, fundamentally Psalm 85 is a prayer for the salvation of the chosen people in a moment of great anguish. This Psalm begins by praising the unconditional love of God, who always forgives the mistakes of his children, and who in due time uses both good and bad to teach and correct: "You, LORD, showed favor to your land; you restored the fortunes of Jacob. You forgave the iniquity of your people and covered all their sins. You set aside all your wrath and turned from your fierce anger" Psalm 85:1-3. Then the Psalm continues requesting the fulfillment of the promises made by God and particularly the prophecies made in favor of Israel, particularly its restoration: "Restore us again, God our Savior, and put away your displeasure toward us. Will you be angry with us forever? Will you prolong your anger through all generations? Will you not revive us again, that your people may rejoice in you? Show us your unfailing love, LORD, and grant us your salvation" Psalm 85:4-7. Finally, the Psalm teaches that there are two paths, one of blessing, the other of curse, and to build and prosper men must fear God above all things: "I will listen to what God the LORD says; he promises peace to his people, his faithful servants— but let them not turn to folly. Surely his salvation is near those who fear him, that his glory may dwell in our land" Psalm 85:8-9.
