Guide to Dental Implants: Everything You Need to Know
Tumblr media
 Introduction:
Dental implants have revolutionized modern dentistry, offering a permanent solution for missing teeth that looks, feels, and functions like natural teeth. Whether you're missing one tooth or several, dental implants can restore your smile and improve your quality of life. In this comprehensive guide, we'll cover everything you need to know about dental implants, from the benefits and types to the procedure and aftercare.
Understanding Dental Implants
Dental implants are small titanium posts that are surgically placed into the jawbone to serve as artificial tooth roots. Once implanted, they provide a sturdy foundation for replacement teeth, such as crowns, bridges, or dentures. Unlike traditional dentures or bridges, which sit on top of the gums, implants are anchored securely into the jawbone, offering stability and preventing bone loss.
Benefits of Dental Implants:
There are numerous benefits to choosing dental implants, including:
Improved appearance: Dental implants look and feel like natural teeth, restoring your smile and facial structure.
Enhanced comfort: Unlike removable dentures, implants are fixed in place, eliminating the discomfort and inconvenience of loose or ill-fitting prosthetics.
Better oral health: Implants stimulate the jawbone, preventing bone loss and preserving the integrity of adjacent teeth.
Durability: With proper care, dental implants can last a lifetime, making them a long-term solution for tooth replacement.
Improved chewing and speech: Dental implants function just like natural teeth, allowing you to eat, speak, and smile with confidence.
Types of Dental Implants:
There are several types of dental implants, each designed to address different degrees of tooth loss and patient needs. These include:
Single tooth implants: Used to replace a single missing tooth without affecting adjacent teeth.
Implant-supported bridges: Ideal for replacing multiple missing teeth in a row, providing a stable and natural-looking restoration.
All-on-4 implants: A full arch of teeth can be supported by just four implants, offering a cost-effective and efficient solution for complete tooth loss.
Mini implants: Smaller in size than traditional implants, mini implants are often used in cases where there is insufficient bone density for standard implants.
The Dental Implant Procedure:
The dental implant process typically involves several stages:
Consultation and treatment planning: Your dentist will evaluate your oral health, discuss your treatment goals, and create a customized treatment plan.
Implant placement: During a minor surgical procedure, the implants are placed into the jawbone and allowed to integrate with the surrounding bone tissue.
Osseointegration: Over the next few months, the implants fuse with the jawbone, forming a strong and stable foundation for the replacement teeth.
Abutment placement: Once osseointegration is complete, abutments are attached to the implants, which will support the final restoration.
Restoration: Finally, custom-made crowns, bridges, or dentures are securely attached to the implants, completing the restoration process.
Aftercare and Maintenance:
Proper care and maintenance are essential for the long-term success of dental implants. This includes:
Brushing and flossing regularly to keep the implant area clean and free of plaque buildup.
Visiting your dentist for regular check-ups and professional cleanings to monitor the health of your implants and surrounding tissues.
Avoiding habits that can damage implants, such as smoking or chewing on hard objects.
Following any specific post-operative instructions provided by your dentist to ensure proper healing and integration of the implants.
Conclusion
Dental implants offer a permanent solution for missing teeth, providing numerous benefits and restoring both function and aesthetics to your smile. By understanding the basics of dental implants, you can make an informed decision about whether they are the right choice for you. If you're considering dental implants, consult with a qualified dentist to discuss your options and create a treatment plan tailored to your needs. With proper care and maintenance, dental implants can provide a lifetime of confident smiles and improved oral health.

Are you considering enhancing your smile and wondering about the costs involved? If so, you’re not alone. Turkey has emerged as a popular destination for dental procedures, particularly for implants and veneers, thanks to its affordable prices and high-quality care. In this post, we'll explore the pricing of dental implants in Turkey, providing insights into what factors influence these costs. Additionally, we will dive into the world of dental veneers and crowns available in Antalya, showcasing their benefits and how they contribute to an overall radiant smile.
İmplant turkey price

İmplant turkey price are generally more affordable compared to many Western countries, making it a popular destination for those seeking dental treatments. The average implant turkey price can range from $300 to $800 per implant, depending on various factors such as the clinic's location, the expertise of the dentist, and the quality of materials used.
Another important aspect to consider is the all-inclusive packages offered by many dental clinics in Turkey. These packages often cover the entire treatment process, including pre-operative consultations, post-operative care, and sometimes even accommodations. This makes the overall dental experience not only economical but also convenient for international patients traveling for treatment.
It’s essential to conduct thorough research before selecting a clinic. Reading patient reviews, verifying the credentials of the dentist, and understanding what the quoted implant turkey price includes can help ensure a successful and satisfying dental procedure. With the right information at hand, patients can make informed decisions regarding their dental implants and en

To the extent you feel comfortable sharing ofc - why do you need a mouth reconstruction? Is that something dental insurance doesn't cover?
Best of luck for your recovery <3
I have a combination of very weak enamel and furious teeth grinding. The combination meant that my teeth were sheered down until the enamel was gone. I was down to just the dentin underneath, which means my teeth were only going to start eroding faster. Multiple dental providers were saying that I was on track for dentures by fifty. I was super cold sensitive on one side, and I had a tooth pulled on the other side due to a botched root canal, which meant there was no way to comfortably chew many types of food. It was affecting what I’d choose to eat, and buddy I do NOT need more obstacles to eating. And just aesthetics-wise, my teeth’s appearance didn’t bother me enough to pay this much just for them to look better, but I didn’t love that they were permanently yellow and that my face was losing height due to how small my teeth were.
(I’m convinced my prosthedontist and my dental surgeon were both more bothered by the aesthetics of my mouth than I was. My surgeon literally said, “I bet you were pretty insecure about your teeth before this, right?” And I was like “ummmm not really?“ and he was like “really? I mean good! But please understand they look so much better.”)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
So I got gum surgery and a base for a dental implant installed several months ago, and now I’ve got temporary crowns in which are actually these connected blocks of teeth that I need special floss to take care of.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
They’re So Big and So White.
And tomorrow I get my permanent crowns which should look and feel like real teeth! And then after that I get fitted for a mouthguard to prevent me from wearing the new ones down to nubs as well. (You can use an over the counter mouth guard for grinding, which is what I was using while I was buying time to get my teeth fixed. I’m getting in custom fit in the hopes my jaw will be less sore when I wake up. Any mouthguard is better than no mouth guard if you’re a grinder though, trust me. Save yourself the enamel and the money.)
Speaking of money, I’ll be super blunt: in total, I paid about $8000 for the gum surgery and implant, and $36000 for almost entire mouth of new crowns (I’ve only got two original teeth left). Insurance covered a little over half the surgery fees and like $2k of the crowns. (My insurance will pay for up to 50% of the price of a crown every two years, and I need about twenty crowns all at once, so. Yeah.) I investigated going to Mexico or Canada to get the work done, but ultimately my dental situation is complicated enough to require coordination of multiple providers and regular check ups over many months. It was going to be to complicated to arrange that internationally, plus travel and lodgings, to be worth the diminishing amount of money I would save. I do think I could have gotten all this work done for cheaper, but I’m not sure if it actually would have been something I followed through on. And basically, the sooner I get this work done, the better in terms of face shape and teeth migration and all that, so I was like “fuck it let’s go,” so here we are. In twenty-four hours, I’ll have a brand new mouth.

Velvet & Veneer headcanons
Tumblr media
Genre: Headcanons
Fandom: Trolls
Warnings: none!
Pairing: a little bit of Veneer x Kid Ritz
Veneer 🌟
Bro is a bitch 😭
Veneer is mean just like Velvet but in a more sophisticated way. She’s straight up mean and he’s more of the fake mean. He’ll pretend to like you then talk shit about you behind your back.
BOY KISSER!! GAY?! LIKES MEN??
Veneer is bisexual but has a preference for guys. He also might have a crush on the Bop on Top interviewer. 🤭
He’s very sensitive
He’s a very emotional person. No matter what, his feelings control him. However, Veneer’s better at managing it than Velvet. Did someone just insult him? He’s pissed off. Did someone just hug him? He’s very happy.
Veneer can bust some moves bro 🤯
He isn’t really that much into singing. Veneer only agreed to become a pop star because his sister wanted to. Veneer is much more into dance. He took ballet and jazz dance classes when he was younger and loved dancing ever since.
He struggles with impostor syndrome
Now, Veneer is… okay at singing and dancing. He struggles with his self image when performing and is scared of disappointing Velvet.
Veneer has veneers 🤓☝️
He was doing something stupid with Velvet when he was younger and fell. He knocked some of his teeth out and damaged some others. So he had to get veneers and dental implants. He also has a small gap in his front teeth.
Fashionista who???
Veneer only wants to look good. He makes sure all his clothing is presentable and expensive. Veneer pretty much picks out the outfits he and his sister wear. He isn’t that good with hair and makeup though :(
Velvet 🌟
Nice when you get to know them friend
Most people think she’s a bitch (which she is) but she can be extremely caring for her close friends and family. Veneer prob says: “oh she’s actually nice you just gotta get to know her”
Lives on caffeine
Velvet CANNOT survive without some caffeine in her system. She likes to get espressos from Starbucks. She’ll sometimes drink Red Bulls, but only when she’s performing.
She’s one of the girls 😍
Velvet likes women. And that is that
Velvet’s on the spectrum
She was diagnosed with high functioning autism when she was like twelve. Velvet struggles with empathy and understanding other’s emotions. She’s also very mean as a way to protect herself.
Expert song writer
She might not be good at singing songs… but she’s excellent at writing them! Velvet wrote some songs that the other famous Mount Rageons sang.
Emotional af
It doesn’t take much to make her snap. Velvet gets teary eyed when she’s angry and yells. She also gives really bad silent treatment. The reason she ran away when the trolls were yelling about her kidnapping BroZone is because she runs away from her problems instead of facing them head on.
(Anyway, I hope you like my silly headcanons! I’ll try to make more soon)

need ur opinion on smth for a fic (bc I trust ur character choices. esp with Clef stuff bc we Know for a fact you've properly read and understood 4231):
subject Clef to maximum angst or let him have his happy ending?
Why not both?
Clef is a pretty malleable character so you could take your main idea, write a story, and then go back and make a second story where details are changed or different.
In one story, clef sure could be the kind of man who grew up internalizing his issues, becoming the man that would rather die alone bleeding out in a hallway than EVER show someone his wounds.
Or maybe clef knows better than that, that a part of him knows that he is the kind of guy who can reach out for help, even if it's to one specific person.
One of the subjects I tend to bounce around my head is the Ichabod Campaign. And my writing definitely reflects that.
In 3portau, Clef still deals with internalization of Anomalous Suppression, having to handle the fact he absolutely refuses to use his anomaly if possible, and tries to push Meri to do the same even if she doesn't understand why, they live in 3portlands. It should be fine!
In the dental story, clef outright goes out of his way to state his regrets on the Ichabod campaign, though I will admit it was... definitely really out of fucking character of that bastard.
The funniest thing I ever implanted into my writing is that there is no canon, but you can also enjoy canon to your hearts content.
You can also instead of split thoughts into multiple stories, build yourself through one big story full of angst with its happy ending.
Hell you could even toy with the classical revival clef.
And if it ends up not being the greatest, that's okay! You can always go back and rewrite it once your skill picks up some.
Edit: coming back to say that just because you can write everything doesn't mean you SHOULD. I saw people not once but TWICE try to make a 4231 omegaverse AU and I can feel my blood pressure raise high enough to outdo snoop dogg.
And do NOT ship him with meri or -A.

hey, about your kiddo with the cavities. Genuinely that can happen for any number of reasons, don't feel bad. You can do various preventive things for it but there cash be anything from their individual mouth chemistry to genetics going on. You're an awesome parent just for bringing them in on time! you'd be shocked how many people don't even do that. source: family in dental.
Thank you (and @jadesabre301 and everyone else who indulged my mom guilt pity party) for the kind words :)
My background’s also in medicine, of course, so rationally I know Q probably just inherited her dad’s teeth/saliva chemistry/bad dental luck. I had a lot of orthodontia but no cavities until I suddenly needed a root canal in my late 30s- and even that wasn’t from a cavity, apparently- but my poor husband’s got a mouth full of dental implants after a lifetime of bad teeth.
I do watch her more closely now with brushing, but it’ll be what it is- thankfully I think the experience was Not Fun enough that she understands better WHY we fuss at her so much about toothbrushing now…

Ok sure giant robots that stop falling stars are cool, but now let me ask the real question. In your post about synthetic food you said it was healthier, which made me question a question, what's the life expectancy in nations, and non nations, these days? We have seen they have a very advanced understanding of medicine and biology so what's the healthcare system like? What kind of surgeries are state covered, which kind are not? Do jobs now also have new type of health benefits apart from dental coverege? Do they *have* teeth or are they synthetic?? Just general info about the conditions of living in the nations and enclaves of the world
Global life expectancy in 2212 is 130.2, Axis and UNÉTA go to high 140s.
Medicine is about maximizing, not protecting health. Everyone gets treatment, sick or not. Everyone is on medical coke, which is good for you. Everyone smokes health cigarettes, which are still addictive to ensure diligence. Children are taught to smoke in grade 1.
Tumblr media
There are many kinds, but these are for your throat
Impulsion
Or impulsive recovery strain, the biggest thing since vaccines, is a stem cell sample taken from fetuses, altered and reinserted. It makes you ageless until 60, wanes off by 80, after 120 implants keep you alive. It's biological infrastructure that makes other treatments possible.
People under 80 can take surgery like it's fixing a tooth, so the cure for many ailments is transplant. For vital organs, you get corporal insurance - spares are grown from your own cells and kept preserved. All else, you must wait until it grows. Yes, you can do SRS this way, but your genes decide the details.
Growing organs gets tough over 80 so the older you get, the less human amd more prosthesis you are.
Tumblr media
This counts as granny fashion.
Impulsion does vectoring for gene therapy and fixes common disorders like hemophilia or color blindness. It lets you take much more brutal meds with bearable side effects. It also regulates metabolism, so bye bye diabetes-2 and obesity.
Many countries make it mandatory since it saves a looot of money. There are, of course, conspiracy theories against it. If you're not strained, you're screwed - medicine is now poison, safety standards got lower and food has slight amounts of petroleum products. 21.7% of humankind is unstrained by 2212.
There's also stem sickness, which is when the strain is faulty. It's lifelong, incurable, potentially horrific and often fatal. It's one of the worst ways to go, so you usually have right to euthanasia while you can still make sound decisions.
By country
In Axis, everything that we today would call more medicine than indulgence is state funded for all citizens. Quality varies - the General Secretary of Security gets a fancier fake liver than your great-great-grandma; lathe technicians get limbs as corporal insurance; firefighters get lung filters, and so on. Axis has less economic muscle than UNÉTA, so it enforces prevention rigorously. Keeping your kid from straining is a felony.
Transatlantic healthcare is, like everything UNÉTA, decentralized. Your local govt sets the rules, and those often shunt responsibility to companies (read: co-ops). Prevention is less consistent, and so you end up spending more on treatment. Federal healthcare still covers the basics, including all emergency services, life-threatening conditions and straining.

Batfamily headcanon request: weirdest place they’ve stored lockpicks and tools.
Dick - with Clark, to be dropped to him from the stratosphere at an agreed-upon time. (Dick had to promise 3 times not to try to catch it before Clark would agree. They also had to do a practice run, to reassure Clark that it was properly constructed to fall slowly enough to not to kill anyone when it landed. Dick will never admit how badly he wanted to try to catch it.)
Babs - inside the room they were trying to break into. Tools and lockpicks were planted before the evidence was going to show up, Dinah got thrown in to be locked up afterwards, and evidence was carried out by Dinah shortly after.
Jason - on a chain around his neck, openly visible. One of his marks even complimented his fashion sense!
Tim - in his dental implants. He still doesn't get why this is weird. (Not sure if this is canon. But it's a staple of Te's fic.)
Steph - in a gun. What? She wasn't going to USE the gun. This way it was more than just a prop!
Helena - in her captor's pocket. He was handsy, she took advantage. She let him get close again after she got to her cell and was out again within 5 minutes.
Cass - in a cut she'd just received. She was annoyed Tim convinced her to throw the fight so they'd get dragged back to their marks' headquarters, and decided to gross him out. It worked.
Damian - fashioned a little backpack for a squirrel he had nursed back to health and told the squirrel to meet him at an upstairs window of a gala venue. The tools were never seen again. (The squirrel DID like him, it just didn't understand what it was being asked to do.)
Duke - slid between the keys of a clarinet, a saxophone, and an oboe. Which is when the rest of the Bats discovered he could play all three.
Bruce - inside every Wayne Tech brand fire alarm that's produced. It pays to be prepared!
Alfred - inside Bruce's dinner. After Tim's 16th birthday, Alfred showed his displeasure through setting up multiple similar fake crises for Bruce. And then, the fifth time, actually locking Bruce in the dining room with the only way to get out hidden in his chicken kiev. He took Tim to a museum, secure in the knowledge that Bruce would not eat until he'd solved the mystery. (Bruce ran through absolutely everything he knew about Kiev, Ukraine, and chicken first. But he DID know Alfred well enough to consider that the lesson might be about self-care, so he got out much sooner than expected.)
