makoto naegi as fresh-faced & hopeful co-leader of future foundation on the outside but grizzled and exhausted adult on the inside. he's still 5'3" and has a babyface but when there's no cameras on him he's smoking cigarettes like that ben affleck photo

That Malleus Anon again, apparently also TWST EN on twt has now come to the consensus that Malleus hates Silver because he did what he did in Chapter 7, Part 2 and I'm... I'm honestly Pepe crying right now.
PLEASE SAY UR JOKING
IM BEGGING????
Like, Malleus doesn't hate Silver at all, he practically helped raise him [and Sebek] with Lilia. It's more of the fact that Mallleus never got to experience what it was like to have a father.
His parents are long dead and his Grandma, for all intents and purposes, is stuck in Briar Valley tiding the people over so as to not put unnecessary pressure on one the last Draconia's.
Lilia had to pick up the slack of raising Malleus into a King who would usher in a new era for Briar Valley.
In some ways Malleus feels robbed that he can never have someone to call 'old man' or 'father'..
It's more akin to slight jealousy if we wanna be honest, but even then Malleus still cares enough ab Silver to hear him pour his heart out. He heard the pleas of Silver not being strong enough to keep Lilia and took matters into his own hands.
You can say he looked indifferent while Silver was tearing himself up ab not being able to repay Lilia a debt that never needed to be collected, but you cannot deny that there's a sense of love in putting the entirety of NRC [and possibly the island] under a 'blessing'.
Malleus wanted to quell the hurt he and Silver shared in not being able to do anything in the face of death. He picked up where Silver left off when he cried out that he wasn't strong enough, because Malleus is strong enough.
He did as a king would, he heard his people's struggle and did something about it.
And I would argue that he and Kalim share parallels because of that, because they want to wrap everyone in a 'blessing'.

was thinking about how Armand is basically a canon video game enjoyer but fanon dictates he mostly plays cozy games where you can control everything (in character i won’t lie) but since i don’t really play those i can’t help picturing him playing like. elden ring. and then, like a premonition from god it became crystal clear that he would be really unwell about Miquella

Interview with the Vampire is, in terms of genre queer melodrama, what fandom really wanted something like SPN or even Hannibal to be. It has the longing, the drama, the messiness, the blood and violence, and it also lets the vampires fuck.
And it made Claudia and Madeleine lesbians who get to tell the other characters to fuck off and Madeleine refusing to be saved because "Claudia is my coven" is everything I want in a tragic love story. RIP Claudia and Madeleine, you would have been amazing vampires and would have been happy if you weren't surrounded by fucking idiots

ngl it sort of pisses me off the way adults regard Gojo in Jujutsu Kaisen at times. Which could be a very interesting and poignant point in a good way if well written, but as it is it becomes mainly just frustrating and sad in a negative way.
Nanami saying Gojo never cared about anything or anyone other than himself crashes interestingly with Kusakabe saying the whole situation was just all his fault because he refused to kill Itadori. The students are very aware of those aspects of Gojo's personality, but overall they seem to regard him with way more kindness and fondness even when at their rudest, not truly coinciding with either Nanami's or Kusakabe's views.
#Kusakabe's words are harsh and negative but there's some true and some logic to them#but in beholding the entire story and the whole context‚ especially with the flashbacks in mind‚ in getting to know the sweet kid Yuuji is‚#the reader is made to find Kusakabe's words a bit outrageous and cruel and Gojo's position becomes the obvious one like Nanami's was#Like Kusakabe's is too in a way since he too says no matter what it's always the adults' fault whatever the cause was#And following the story we see Gojo cared a lot about those kids and them keeping their youthful cheerfulness if in his very flippant way#That's basically his main constant thread. We see it at the very beginning in what he did for Yuta and how Yuta is so fond of him#We see him at the very end in a way too with the letters he left#And his entire motivation was changing the very messed up society to avoid the kids going through what he and his friends went through#and to prevent them from being lonely the way he felt he was. Ontologically alienated. Entirely othered#And of course it's in part him keeping people away like Shoko. Or even Yuta (though here again it's at the core of his action his attempt#at protecting the kids and trying to prevent them from growing too fast)#And of course this is motivated by his own experiences and in that sense not entirely a selfless act#But those things still don't negate that his goal was for the future kids to be... in a better situation than what he and his friends lived#So Nanami's words are very cruel and... blind. Of course it's possible that Gojo's way of approaching the problem is still something#Nanami would regard as selfish (but it could be argued that so is Nanami's)‚ or that Gojo's perception of Nanami's way of thinking#about him would be this negative. But what we see through the story absolutely contradict Nanami's words in that airport#And though both Nanami's words and Kusakabe's are negative in regards to Gojo‚ they in a way contradict each other#The kids' words and way of seeing Gojo is most of the time more... accurate? If also diverse among them#They see him like an idiot. They trust him. They think he's childish and annoying. They love him#They find him flippant. They know he cares about them. In a way they see both what Kusakabe and Nanami say about him#The negative. And the ultimate positive aspect at the core of it all. That Gojo did care and that Gojo did take care#and that Gojo risked and sacrificed a lot for them and that Gojo was doing this in great part because of his own past#Yuta perhaps is the one who sees it best but it's so interesting too the dynamic Maki‚ Yuuji and Megumi have with Gojo‚ his acts and antics#And this whole thing‚ this frivolous and even... cruel way most adults seem to regard Gojo and how it clashes with the kids' deep feelings#about him (beyond the initial 'he's an untrustworthy idiot' though those as well!') is super interesting and super sad and super juicy#OR IT COULD BE bc in the end all that happens is that Nanami says that and Gojo pouts comically or that Kusakabe makes that offhand comment#as if it held no weight‚ as if Yuji weren't present and had never agonised over it‚ as if Gojo hadn't lost his life trying to save the kid#And yes he risked more than his life but he was trying to save a kid bc another kid (bc Megumi!) asked. But maybe it didn't matter if no one#asked. He saved Yuta too. Of course he would have risked it all. In his mix of selfishness and selflessness. Everything is so juicy#yet the writing feels so dry and lame. There's no pondering. There's talk of guilt and grief without any true sense of grieving or loss

1312 – Day 1
TOWNSEND FARM
Despite his best efforts, as the year 1312 begins, Benjamin finds he is not a particularly good cook. He supposes he will get better at it with practice, but he misses his sisters and mother all the same. Now that their stores are running low – it is the end of winter, after all – they’ll have to contend with their burnt breakfast if they want to eat at all.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
There is a ray of light in the form of Malika coming to visit. They have seen little of each other in the past few months – winter tends to make people seek their hearths, and the Townsends live too far outside the village for it to be an easy hike over the frozen roads – so he is overjoyed to get the opportunity to finally talk to her. Although talking is not what is on their mind in the first few moments of their reunion. He still doesn’t understand how the most beautiful girl in the village has come to be interested in him of all people, but he does not intend to complain.
In fact, asking her to make their ideas of marriage official is all that has been on his mind since he received her father’s blessing, so he officially asks her to be his betrothed. It is a mere formality at this point, but Malika enthusiastically assents.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
They flee inside for warmth after that and find themselves alone in the cottage. Benedict and Benjamin’s younger siblings are all shut up in Benedict’s workshop. It’s possible they don’t even know Malika has come over to visit, unless one of them noticed her passing their window.
They use their privacy for some more of that delightful kissing, and as if to shut out the winter’s chill, things quickly heat up after that. They know it’s foolish, of course, but they are so happy about their future together and so driven by their hunger for each other that neither of them cares. Their feelings are far too new and exciting for that.
Other considerations are a problem for a later date.

CRAWLEY HOUSEHOLD
Despite the Townsends’ hesitance about travelling, the Crawley family journeys out of Praaven to attend a feast at the abbey, which Anna attends. Her husband has noticed that she has been unusually quiet of late, after she had just seemed to recover her spirits after the passing of their daughter. He worries, and those worries lead him to gently breach the topic while they are out on a walk over the snow-covered grounds.
Anna sighs. “I have been, haven’t I? I’m sorry. There’s something on my mind.”
“What is it, love? Is there something I can do to help?”
“I doubt that. But you should know, nevertheless. Because I…I’m with child again.”
That stops him dead in his tracks. It hasn’t even been half a year since their daughter’s death.  “Are you sure?”
“As sure as I can be.”
He reads his own conflicted emotions on her face. He’s happy. Of course he is. But his joy isn’t as innocent as it had been when she told him about her first pregnancy. But his wife she doesn’t need his fears or doubts.
“Anna, that’s fantastic!”
“I just worry. What if it ends…like last time?”
“It won’t”, he says firmly. “I promise you, it won’t.”

WATMORE HOUSEHOLD
The Crawleys and the Dudleys aren’t the only ones receiving signs of a coming addition to the family. In fact, it seems like there is a veritable army of children to be born. Edith, too, has been feeling rather ill of late. Another wave of nausea hits her while she is preparing supper for herself and William, which does not make handling food any easier.
Other than her illness, marriage has been treating her well. Their life is quiet – especially now that they don’t have fields to tend to – but she enjoys having her own house and keeping it for her husband.
When returns home, she tells him of her suspicions over supper, and although he cautions him that they’ll need to widen their income to be able to feed and clothe a baby, he is looking forward to it just as much as she is.
