prompt. him being heavily in denial about his feelings for you and if/when he’d finally realize it. split into three sections — him & you (how & why the denial starts) + him & co. (another character’s reaction to his denial) + feelings realization. gender neutral reader.

a/n — I think this concept is fun! less characters bc there’s 3 sections per character! enjoy this fun little game of denial! also, i will say that hyoga’s characterization is largely based on his later manga appearances! there are no spoilers, but you don’t get to see a lot of good hyoga until the manga <//3 anyway! enjoy!

☁️ hyoga akatsuki ;;

him & you ~ how it starts

• Given his nature, Hyoga would be in denial for quite some time before ever realizing that he actually likes you. After all, in his mission to build a world where only the strong and proper are revived, is there really any room for romance?

• The answer, of course, happens to be yes, even if he didn’t mean to fall for you.

• Usually, Hyoga would view kindness as yours as limiting and weak. How can anyone survive in a battle of survival of the fittest if they refuse to be ruthless?

• However… your kindness does something to him. He’s used to being treated with respect, reverence, or fear. Experiencing genuine kindness from you— kindness from one person to another— is an entirely new experience. He’s never been treated with warmth and smiles without an ulterior motive.

• Pacifist or not, your kindness is only further enhanced by your other skills. Witnessing you in your element further grows Hyoga’s affection for you. Your warmth got his eyes on you, and your skills kept him watching.

• But… surely he’s only watching you because you’re a proper ally, right? He’s merely surprised by how capable you turned out to be behind that soft heart. That’s why you’ve caught his attention.

• Hyoga treats you noticeably kinder than others. Even when he’s around people he respects— like Homura or Tsukasa— he maintains distance. With you, he’s a little warmer— more willing to entail conversation he’d see as nonsensical otherwise.

• On top of that, Hyoga is adamant on keeping you away from trouble. When he starts to suspect Gen’s loyalty, he tries his best to keep you far from the mentalist. What if Gen pulled you to the other side? How would he keep you safe then?

• He keeps trying to reason with himself that he merely feels this way because you’re a proper ally, and it’d be a shame to lose skills like yours. He’ll ignore his fluttering heart and the smiles behind his mask if it means keeping you at a distance and never admitting how he feels.

• Because if he admits it and he loses you, he’s certain he’ll risk becoming much weaker. And that’s not something he can afford.

him & co. ~ another character’s reaction — asagiri gen

• Hyoga, though he acts subtle about his favoritism toward you, isn't as discreet as he likely thought he was. Then again, it’s hard to hide things from a mentalist, even if Hyoga wears a mask.

• Gen notices a change in Hyoga’s demeanor a few weeks after you’re revived. Before you were around, Hyoga would make himself scarce— training in solitude— if no one needed him or he had no duties for the day.

• Beforehand, Tsukasa and Homura were the only people Hyoga gave the time of day. He’d hardly ever entertain conversation with another soul unless absolutely necessary. All to say, he was something of a lone wolf.

• Then, you’re revived. And suddenly, Gen sees a lot more of Hyoga around and hears him talking a lot more than he used to.

• Hyoga still trains, but he makes it a point to idle around and wait for you to also be free before walking off with you so you can keep him company while he trains.

• You’re the only one Hyoga actively talks with, and from what Gen has overheard, it’s hardly a business talk. Your conversation topics with Hyoga always include life, family, and who Hyoga is. Surprisingly, Hyoga doesn’t brush you off— diligently answering your questions and even asking some of his own.

• Gen also notices that when Hyoga isn’t around, you’re also notably absent. Gen once thought it was you clinging to Hyoga… but soon realizes it’s quite the opposite. Actually, he overheard Hyoga asking to be assigned to the same work with you when he’s able, or he merely finishes his own duties before seeking you out.

• Gen is quick to realize what it is. However, when he musters up the courage to ask Hyoga about it, he’s not shocked to hear the man vehemently deny it— going as far as calling it foolish and weak.

• However, Gen notices the way his shoulders relax, the way his brow unfurrows, and the smiles Hyoga tries to hide when you’re mentioned. Gen notices the way Hyoga straightens up a bit and softens around the edges when he’s with you.

• Gen knows for a fact that Hyoga is smitten with you. Now… whether or not he’d ever come to admit that is a whole new question. He’s so deep in denial and in his own worldview that he’s almost certain Hyoga would deny it until the day he dies.

• Well… not that it matters to Gen. If he can leverage Hyoga’s crush against him, then he will. Maybe then Hyoga would actually admit that he doesn’t just see you as a normal ally.

feelings realization ~ finally. . .

• After his betrayal against Tsukasa and the Kingdom of Science, Hyoga believes he’ll only feel regret that he didn’t best Senku. However… as time passes while he’s locked up, he feels more regret that he betrayed you and your trust.

• He doesn’t remember how everyone else reacted to his betrayal, but he does remember the hurt and disappointment on your face. In that moment, in fully losing, he felt like he lost something more than his ideal world— the person he wanted to share that world with.

• Hyoga fully suspects you to want nothing to do with him or Homura ever again. He suspects that he’s lost you forever— that he’ll never feel your warmth again. And the mere thought makes his heart hurt.

• In that moment, when he’s locked up and questioning why he cares so much, he finally comes to the realization that he wouldn’t care if you were just a proper ally in his eyes. He wouldn’t care so much unless he cared about you deeply.

• Part of him is disappointed— part of him blames you for bringing out a weakness in him. Surely, that weakness is the reason he lost. But… then you start visiting him.

• It starts with you bringing his food on a daily basis. Then, you bring your own food and stick around to eat with him. You engage Homura in conversation, and soon enough, him, too.

• Hyoga warms up to you all over again. You’re stronger than he ever was. He wants to call you stupid for being so willing to forgive him even though he was your enemy. However, he knows that you’ve fully considered the weight of your decision and still chose forgiveness anyway.

• He knows he could never be that way— which is why he has to admire that trait in you. Sure, perhaps kindness can be a foolish weakness… but that kindness of yours allowed you to give him a second chance.

• In its own way, that’s quite proper, isn’t it?

• Either way, he can’t help but accept that, yes. He loves you more than anything. And if there isn’t a place for romance in the Stone World, he’ll just have to carve one out himself.

• All he hopes is that, one day, you’ll be able to love him just as much. Though, he’d be unable to blame you for feeling otherwise. It’d be foolish for him to engage in such wishful thinking without facing reality.

• But… he certainly does love you. And that won’t change for a long time.

☁️ tsukasa shishio ;;

him & you ~ how it starts

• When his attention first falls on you, Tsukasa assumes it’s because you’re especially pure-hearted. You’re someone his sister would’ve loved. After all, what else could it possibly be?

• He isn’t fully sure when that viewpoint changes. All he knows is that you change from someone his sister would’ve loved to someone he wishes could’ve met her. You become someone he knows he likes to be around, and he isn’t sure why.

• He vehemently denies that it could be love because, well, it was that same emotion that was Senku, Taiju, and Yuzuriha’s downfall. Senku’s care for his friend and knowing that Taiju loved Yuzuriha is precisely why he was able to best them.

• Emotions like that were sure to become a weakness, and he’d never let that happen, so it couldn’t be that. It’s precisely why he’s never searched for Mirai. Because even if she couldn’t be revived, he couldn’t bear to see her statue come to harm.

• So what he feels for you couldn’t be that. The desire to be in your presence— the desire to confide in you and spend quiet moments with you— it isn’t love. Admiration, perhaps? Maybe friendship? With each passing day he becomes more uncertain of the answer.

• What he does know is that he makes it a point to check in on you quite a bit. He revived you for your skills and kindness… but each time he meets you it’s never about anything related to the Empire.

• Your conversations with him are notably familiar. They’re never about work like with the others he talks with. When he approaches you, he does so to check in on your well-being— to ask if there’s anything you feel you’re lacking.

• You’re the only one he walks along the beach quietly with, reminiscing about his sister and his past. Tsukasa feels inclined to tell you things he hasn’t told another.

• But it isn’t love. When he tells you about himself— hoping to show you the reasons behind his morals— it isn’t love. When he’s had a rough day plagued with regrets and he seeks you out— that isn’t love.

• Because if it is, he’s certain you’d never be happy with where his morals align. He’s certain that you hide how troubled you are beneath a kind smile.

• If he falls for you, he knows it’d kill him that you’d never agree to be by his side. So he refuses— he can’t. He’ll call the extra kindness he shows you, the leniency he takes with you, anything but what it likely is if it means saving himself the weakness that comes with that warmth.

him & co. ~ another character’s reaction — yuzuriha & taiju

• While Tsukasa is relatively good about being subtle about how he feels about you, the person that notices it first is Yuzuriha, followed closely by Taiju.

• When he’s around you, Taiju recognizes the initial upstanding guy he thought Tsukasa was. He sees no hint of hostility or distrust that he’d seen in him before. All he sees is kindness. Tsukasa never regards you with anything but a smile, and it’s enough for Taiju to firmly believe that, yeah, Tsukasa is a good guy— probably just on the wrong path.

• It’s entirely different for Yuzuriha. The reason she recognizes Tsukasa’s fondness for you so quickly is because she recognizes the way the man looks at you. It’s the same way Taiju looks at her. Fondness, warmth, love— an unspoken desire to be by someone’s side no matter what may happen.

• They both see that… but they also hear how Tsukasa talks about you. He has nothing but good things to say. Even if you’re someone who doesn’t agree with Tsukasa’s morals, he’s never expressed anything but understanding. And if someone dares disrespect you, he’s quick to shut it down.

• However, they also hear him insist that you’re just a friend— someone pure-hearted that needs to be protected. Taiju mentions to Yuzuriha that he feels like Tsukasa looks a little sad when he calls you just a friend. She sees it, too.

• When he thinks you aren’t looking, the two notice that Tsukasa’s eyes always seem to drift to you. He always has a faraway look in his eyes. Then, they see his eyes glimmer a bit with hope when you happen to catch his gaze.

• Truth be told, it makes both Taiju and Yuzuriha a little sad. If Tsukasa was honest with himself— if he wasn’t so adamant on his ways— then there’d be nothing stopping him from being happy with you. Tsukasa’s biggest obstacle is himself.

• They hope that if they eventually beat Tsukasa in this war… maybe then he’ll allow himself to be happy with you. Maybe he’ll be allowed a happy ending with you.

• Because at the end of the day, Tsukasa is a good guy, isn’t he?

feelings realization ~ finally. . .

• Tsukasa finally realizes that he loves you when it’s a little too late. He finally realizes it… but his time with you gets cut terribly short.

• At the end of the war against the Kingdom of Science, you remain by his side. You share his excitement in reviving Mirai, and you never blame him for anything that happened. You stayed by him despite everything— despite all the fighting.

• The moment he realizes that you being there is just… natural to him, he accepts that he loves you dearly. You’d stay beside him through thick and thin, you’d be an amazing role model to Mirai, and your kindness knows no end.

• He loves you and wants to protect you. If the entirety of humanity is going to be revived, he’ll protect your pure heart from any corrupt adults himself. He wants to stay by your side and love you at your best and your worst as you did for him. He wants to be your support— a quiet and safe place to retreat to.

• He just… wants to be someone that deserves the kindness you’ve shown him. He wants to be worthy of the warm love you’ve always shown. He loves you and wants to treat you in the way you deserve.

• But… his happiness is short-lived. When Mirai is revived, he tells her about his affection for you. He tells her he wants to confess— but then Hyoga fatally wounds him.

• Tsukasa realizes it’d be selfish to ask you to wait for him. When Senku chooses to freeze him, they both have no clue when he’ll be able to come back— if he’ll ever come back. Tsukasa doesn’t want you to wait for him— for the slim chance he’ll return.

• It’s then that Tsukasa decides to take it with him to the grave. If he happens to revive… if Senku somehow finds a way to petrify him… then he’ll tell you. If you still haven’t found anyone by the time he returns, he makes a promise to himself, and to Mirai, that he'll finally tell you how he feels.

• Before he’s frozen, you make a promise to him in a hushed whisper that you’ll watch over Mirai for him— that you know he’ll return one day and that you’ll be patiently waiting for him to come home.

• In those final moments before cold sleep, Tsukasa’s heart feels reassured. He should’ve realized— you’d wait for him regardless of what he said.

• Now… he just hopes he’ll be able to awaken and meet you again— to love you as you deserve.

☁️ ukyo saionji ;;

him & you ~ how it starts

• Ukyo recognizes your kindness almost immediately after you’re revived and become acclimated into the Tsukasa Empire. It’s hard for him not to stick by your side— relieved that he isn’t the only one who doesn’t agree with Tsukasa’s ideology and feels some guilt toward being unable to do a thing about it.

• Being around you so much leads him to start recognizing things beyond just an alignment of morals. You’re truly kind and caring— extending that same warmth to Tsukasa and even Hyoga. You reason that they must have their own experiences that led to having such ideals— that it isn’t an excuse not to care for them.

• You have the same idea as Ukyo for different reasons. You won’t leave the Tsukasa Empire not for reasons involving power or which side might win. It’s merely because you care for the people you revived with— you care for him.

• Ukyo wants to protect that kindness— wants to keep a war from happening in hopes that it’ll save you from ever looking sad over a lost friend. But… it isn’t love.

• No, Ukyo is certain that it’s merely a desire to protect you. After all, the world needs more people like you, so he can’t risk you getting in harm’s way. That’s it. It’s nothing beyond a desire to protect, right?

• And yet, you’re the only one that Ukyo has gotten close to in the Tsukasa Empire. He keeps everyone else at a professional distance, refusing to disclose anything about himself. When he’s with you, it seems much easier to open up. He doesn’t feel like he has to hide.

• You’re the only person he goes out of his way to check in on. When he knows you had an especially busy day or had a lot on your plate, he’ll seek you out immediately when he’s relieved of his duties. He’ll comfort you when you need it and keep you company when you desire it.

• However, he refuses to call it anything but friendship. Even if he wants to be closer to you— wants to soothe the fluttering in his heart— he can’t. Because Ukyo is continuously questioning his loyalty to Tsukasa.

• If he said anything, he’s certain you’d be used against him. If you happened to want to turncoat and leave, he knows he’d be used against you. That’s the last thing he wants.

• Because if a war is waged against the Kingdom of Science, Ukyo wants to be certain that you won’t come to harm. And something like love would become a glaring weakness— one that could be fatal.

• And this world needs more people like you.

him & co. ~ another character’s reaction — ishigami senku

• When Ukyo first defects to the Kingdom of Science, Senku immediately notices a level of hesitance for him— as if something is still holding him back. Considering how adamant Ukyo is that absolutely no one dies, Senku assumes that it isn’t just fueled by his morals.

• Then, Gen mentions seeing you and Ukyo together a while ago— and Senku can immediately tell that you’re the reason he’s so adamant on a peaceful end.

• At first, Senku assumes that maybe you’re a really good friend, perhaps a sibling? However, when he’s able to hear more from Taiju and Yuzuriha’s perspective, he can immediately tell it’s romantic, even if Ukyo himself is in denial about that fact.

• In all honesty, he isn’t one to care for romance himself, but he does care about the happiness of others. He can tell Ukyo’s seriously anxious about something happening to you— and though Senku is absolutely certain he won’t let anyone die, he knows that love can be a little illogical.

• Besides, you have your own assets that Senku could utilize. If you have the trust of a man like Ukyo, he’s certain it’s because you’re a good person. He isn’t one to push anyone into confessing— he never did with Taiju— but he will do his best to accommodate, even if he sees it as senseless.

• Because Senku does know what it’s like to lose someone— what it’s like to worry and to not want to be alone. If your presence makes Ukyo a little more confident, so be it. That’s why he’s the one who suggests looping you in and bringing you to their side.

• Hearing and later seeing how comfortable Ukyo is with you by his side is enough to confirm without a doubt that Ukyo loves you. Senku remembers seeding Ukyo when he’s serious— when he’s in the zone. It’s the complete opposite of what the man is like with you.

• With you, Ukyo is softer and much more laid back— more himself, if anything. And frankly, Senku thinks it’s illogical for Ukyo to keep hiding how he feels when it’s clear you feel the same.

• Then again, he won’t push. He’s certain Ukyo will want to make a move himself. He has faith it’ll happen one day, and Ukyo will be better for it.

feelings realization ~ finally. . .

• Given how adamant Ukyo is on protecting you, it isn’t exactly shocking that he’s the one who ends up hurt during the final battle of the war against the Tsukasa Empire.

• What does shock him is just how much it affects you. Of course, you’re kindhearted and have a loving personality— but he didn’t expect you to show so much concern for him in particular. However, the moment he gets injured, you put yourself at risk to get him to safety— spending time patching his wounds before running back to the battle.

• Your bravery paired with the care and consideration you show— add on top of that his neat brush with death— all of it causes him to truly accept that he loves you. He loves you and he doesn’t want to lose you— he doesn’t want to regret the things he never said.

• When the dust finally settles— when Tsukasa is defeated, Hyoga imprisoned, and the Kingdom of Science reigns victorious— he decides to tell you how he honestly feels.

• Because you’re sure to face dangers in the future— ones he might not be there for. There may come a time where he gets hurt or otherwise incapacitated again and he won’t be able to protect you like he wants. All he wants is to be certain that, no matter what you face, you know that he loves you and is supporting you whether he’s there physically or not.

• Of course, he hesitates a bit at first. But when he starts his confession speech and hears your heart quicken— hears the way your breath hitches a bit— he knows it’s mutual and he becomes far more confident in his words.

• Finally, he can accept that he’s always loved you— that there’s no longer a reason to deny it any longer. While he knows there might come a time in the future where someone could use your love against him… he thinks the risk is worth the reward.

• Because in no world are you Ukyo’s weakness. You’re his biggest strength— and you make him strive to be better. And he’s certain that if someone tried to use you two against each other, you and him would find a way to come out on top.

5 wise generals with a deaf S/o💖🌷

Senku:

I feel like he would know basic sign language

Like hello, yes, no, etc.

He’s definitely down to learn

Will probably pick up everything in like one or two days

He’d also make you hearing aids if you want them (or whatever implant thing people get I don’t remember what it is)

If you start crying when you hear for the first time, he’ll smirk and place a hand on your back

“Heh, what wrong? Already tired of hearing all the noise?”

I don’t think he’d just sit down and teach you how pronounce things

He’d just throw you in random situations and sign to you on the side what people are saying 

If you don’t want hearing aids then he doesn’t mind occasionally being your interpreter, but there are some times he is too busy to help out

Wouldn’t treat you like your fragile, expects the same thing from you as he expects of everything else

He doesn’t really react when you first say I love you

Just smiles and nods

“Yknow I love you too”

Chrome:

“Soooo you don’t have the fuzzy eye sickness but you have the stuffy eye sickness????”

He’s really trying his best

Definitely wants to learn sign language, it just might take him longer to learn than senku

It still might not click to him fully that you’re deaf cause he still kinda shouts to get your attention

“y/n…. Y/n…Y/N…!!!”

Everyone just looks at him like wtf is your deal bro then it clicks to him again lol

He’d have no problem being your translator, but like I said before he’d have a harder time learning than senku, so he might be a bit frustrated with HIMSELF (he’d never be frustrated with you!) that he can’t help you more

If you want hearing aids/surgery then he’ll do everything in his power to get it for you 

Has no idea what to do if you start tearing up from hearing 

“Wha- I don’t- is something wrong??? Is it too loud????” He asks in the loudest voice possible

Definitely teaches you words and phrases one by one, contrasting from senku

Will definitely start off with phrases like, “chrome is my boyfriend” or “chrome is so cute”

When he hears you say you love him he immediately gets overwhelmed with love and emotion and starts to cry

“S-sorry… I don’t know whats gotten over me… I love you too my gem…!”

Stop bro chrome is so freakin cute!!!

Gen:

This MORON

Does not give a flip that your deaf, but he uses you so much to get out of working

“Sorry dear Senku-Chan~ but my sweet y/n needs help communicating with Francois so I’ll be on my way then” he says knowing damn well that Francois knows way more sign language than Gen could ever dream of of course Senku knows this and still makes him work

He loooooovees whispering somewhat dirty things in your ear because he knows you can’t hear it, but he always does it when he’s behind you cause he doesn’t want you reading his lips

“My sweet y/n If you only knew what you did to me. All I wanna do is kiss every inch of your beautiful body until I’ve covered every last in of you”

And then he just walks off like nothing ever happened 💀

Like Senku he probably already knows basic sign language and of course is willing to learn more, but just cannot grasp anything being taught to him

If you’re really good at reading lips he’ll just stick to that 

If not then he’ll keep learning but mainly write you notes

If you get hearing aids/surgery then he’ll quickly begin teaching you how to speak 

You remember how I said he just randomly comes up from behind you and whispers perverted things in your ear?

There was a time he forgot you had hearing aids and said all those things😗

The only reason he remembered was because of the deep shade of red that spread all over your face

When you are able to say I love you, his face is just shocked

But it soon fades into a sincere smile

“I love you too my heart”

Ukyo:

Ukyo would love you no matter what

Has no problem using sign language or writing things down on a piece of paper

If he learns sign language then he’d learn it faster than chrome but not as fast as senku

I still think Ukyo would want you to speak though 

I’m not saying the other generals wouldn’t want to hear your voice, but Ukyo NEEDS to hear it 

Doesn’t matter what you think your voice would sound like, Ukyo thinks it’s beautiful because it’s part of you

If you’re self conscious about it then he’ll definitely reassure you with rubbing your hands or soft forehead and cheek kisses

Every time you speak he signs “beautiful” or “lovely” for extra encouragement 

Loves being your translator

He likes how he’s basically become your voice for everyone to hear

If you chose to get hearing aids/surgery then he’s immediately teaching you basic phrases to get around

As much as he would love to hear you say “I love you” or “I’m happy with you” he knows he needs to teach you phrases that’ll actually help you

But one day as both are heading to bed he hears what he’s always wanted to hear

“U-uku-Ukyo… i lo-love you….”

He just freezes, his eyes are already overflowing when he turns to look at you 

“Can you please say that again…?” 

He makes you repeat it over and over as he holds you and cries

He’s so happy, he never thought he’d hear those words come out of your mouth yet here we are 

“Thank you y/n… I love you so much… more than you’ll ever know…”

Ryusui:

Ryusui might be a little overdramatic on how he cares for you 💀

Will NOT let you out of his sight

Worried about you getting in trouble or getting hurt because you couldn’t hear something coming this is also just an excuse to be around you too lol

Im not saying the other guys wouldn’t be concerned, Ryusui just takes it to the EXTREME 

already learned sign language when he first found out you were deaf

He was all like, “I desire to speak with you, which way is easiest for you???” And then learned sign language lol

Besides being overprotective he’s still normal, obnoxious Ryusui 

Always down to be your translator, whatever you need he’s there

Ryusui doesn’t care if you get hearing aids/surgery or not, he just wants what you want

If you don’t want any then that’s that, he’s not gonna make you do anything you don’t want to

If you do then you get it within seconds

So very patient and supportive when teaching you to speak

“Amazing job love! That’s one more word than yesterday!”

Whenever you first say I love you to him he’s the happiest he’s ever been in his life

He just picks you up and spins you around laughing and kissing all over your face

hello hello!! i’m very grateful that you’ve stuck around and enjoy my writing!  i’m so sorry to hear life hasn’t been treating you so good, and i hope things pick up for you soon :(

GEN ASAGIRI

Depending on the severity of your sickness, Gen may initially be a little reluctant to be around you. 

He’s a bit of a drama queen, swooning over how sad it is that you’re in such a state, worrying about whether or not he’ll catch anything from you, teasing that he should keep his distance. 

Yet when your unimpressed features finally send the messages that his jokes and attitudes weren’t all that funny, he sobers up and truly is one of the most committed to looking after you out of everyone in the camp. 

He truly and honestly worries about you; he hates seeing you in such distress, and though subconsciously he may also want to save his own skin and comfort by averting his eyes, he forces himself to stay by you for both your sakes. 

Especially if your sickness is something that can evolve to be life threatening, he’ll stay by your bedroll all night if it means giving himself some peace of mind. 

He acts as a messenger between you and the rest of the Kingdom of Science. Anything you want or need, Gen is immediately out to ask someone to bring it over, or he’s going off to retrieve it himself. 

He brings meals to your bed(roll) and insists he feeds you, even when you tell him he doesn’t need to. 

He’s surprisingly diligent and mindful of your body; he thinks to put a soothing cloth on your skin for some relief, and takes care to change it regularly. He’s quiet when he moves around, so as to not disturb you while you attempt to rest and dull the ache in your head.

When you’re up for it, Gen most likes to talk you out of hyper fixating on your pain. He’ll complain about people and complain about tasks they force him to undertake, always in a theatrical way that makes you chuckle, which reassures him greatly.

Sometimes he may even pull out some of his magic tricks to amuse you. If not tricks, then regular games of cards and showcases of all the flowers he managed to find and pick and preserve. 

Most of the time when he’s in your company, however, he’s trying to busy himself one way or another. Sitting and staring at your weakening state for too long makes him nervous. He feels the need to pace, to do something. 

Overall, tries to continue acting like his arrogant self, but his actions give away his concern, and he’s more than relieved when you recover from your ailment. 

UKYO SAIONJI 

Ukyo, in many ways, is incredibly similar to Gen, just without the arrogance and dramatics and more concern instead. 

It’s hard for him to hide behind a smile like Gen does, however; when it comes to you, his emotions are kind of plain to see, almost impossible to hide. He’ll give you reassuring squeezes of the hand or shoulder, laugh with you and offer all his support, but you can tell the whole thing makes him uneasy, and when he isn’t wearing a smile for your sake, he’s silently grieving your condition (especially if it appears life threatening). 

So you’ll both need some comforting, perhaps a squeeze of his shoulder in order to get his tension to diffuse just the slightest bit. But Ukyo is always there to pull you out of your misery with reassurances that the sickness won’t last forever, and that you’ll recover soon enough, reborn into a stronger body (and mind). 

In the meantime, he does what he can for you. He takes over your chores, brings you your meals, and stands by you with his bow at night; just in case. 

Conversation is the main way he attempts to get your mind off your sickness. Talking about himself, updating you on the day’s happenings, asking questions about you and the things you like--anything and everything if it means keeping you as spirited as possible. It’s also a subconscious reassurance for himself that you show potential in recovery. 

He also works closely beside Senku and the other villagers who closely monitor your condition and attempt to help you recover through whatever means they can think up (or invent). Though he may not know all the science behind the recovery methods, he’ll recommend remedies from his own experience and ask questions as to what he can do in order to best support you.

When you do eventually recover, he’s just as bright and cheery (and perhaps even relieved) as you are, though he may remain a little more protective of you than normal, not wanting you to contract a similar ailment.

It was mid spring, the breeze softly embraced others, while another looked out the window with a fargone gaze.

you never really liked spring, honestly. It was all some sick excuse for people to say something like “its perfect to go outside!”. Really, you’d rather stay indoors while its winter. It gives you an excuse to stay away when your classmates makes plans to go to karaoke, things along that line.

During winter, the bitter frost would bite those who were vulnerable. But you never took it that way. You took it as something beautiful. People really never understood your affinity for winter when you explained it.

it was more of a personal, deep connection rather than a unornamented preference. At least to you it was.

Beliefs drove to conviction, and conviction led to acceptance. There were a lot of complicated things in this world you didn’t like too.

This was your belief, there was no need for all this extra stuff. Life is as fleeting as the fickle heart, so might as well do what you want, right?

sadly, not many others shared this sentiment. So here you were, in physical science, left alone to wander through your wild mind.

“ms [l/n], would you care to help us with this equation? At least, I hope that’s what you’re thinking about in the back there!” The woman at the front of the class called

Right. School. That thing? You’re in it right now. “It would be ‘c=2 x 3.14 x r’, Mrs Bato” you turned away from the window to face the woman. She was the type of teacher who would pick on whoever she saw fit, almost as if she was threatened by your presence, she often asked questions that disguised the malice behind them. 

Maybe she felt challenged by your aloof demeanor. Not like you planned on sitting around in her class long enough to find out anyways. “ah..yes, that’s right” she said unenthusiastically, you think she was hoping for you to say something else. 

After your answer, she moved onto her next victim for the period until the bell rang.

as the bell rang, you quickly gathered up all your materials and placed them under your desk. “Don’t forget to review chapter 25 for next week’s homework!” The teacher called out to the fleeting students.

Making your way out the door amongst the lively crowd, you managed to navigate your way to the art room. It was especially rowdy today, perhaps they were having something good for lunch today. Not like didn’t bring your own. As you reached for the door handle of the club room, it suddenly slid open harshly before you.

There you came face to face with him. “Ah, [l/n]-san” his deep voice rumbled with kindness and a bit if curiosity as he looked down at you. “shishio-san” you bowed. 

You’ve seen the dude around campus, considering the fact he was nick-named “The Strongest Primate High Schooler” it was hard to miss him. Tsukasa was one of the popular, yet humble type of guys.

”how are you today?” He smiled. Every now and then when he encountered you, he would try to make small talk. Obviously noting that you avoided him at any cost necessary.

Last thing you needed was his fangirls jumping you in the nearest alleyway.

“Fine. May I go in? Or do you have business to attend in there?” You pointed to the room. Lunch box in hand. 

Tsukasa picked up you weren’t ready to have small talk by now. Nodding along he sidestepped out of the doorway. “See you later [l/n]”

”hopefully” you remarked before watching him walk down the hallway “not”

Not like he wronged your lineage in a past life of anything, you just had these weird vibes that you got in the gut whenever he pranced around the vicinity. You never bothered to entertain him, trusting the gut above all else.

Making your way inside the clubroom, the door was closed behind you quickly. Placing your lunch down on the nearest counter you searched inside the drawers for equipment.

“Acrylics, oils, sponges…” making sure you listed off everything you needed for todays piece, you put everything in a small bucket and walked towards the canvas. 

The window for the club room was open, providing a refreshing breath of air. The faint smell of dried paint circulated the room. The quiet room lulled you into a sea of thoughts. There were no members today in the room since clubs weren't required on Monday's, for whatever reason that is. The outside world faded away as your brush gently stroke the canvas, each color more vibrant than the other. Today, you painted a forest with a few statues. It gave off the whole history, but poetic vibe. Each color blended perfect with the other, painting was an escape, you never had to explain or talk for yourself, since the art did it for you. 

Maybe it was too nice today though. Normally you wouldn't find yourself in a such a calming situation, and noticing how the world was always dead set on ruining whatever peace coming your way, you became skeptical. 

You hesitated on the next stroke before feeling the hairs on your body stand at full attention. "cmon..I doubt anything bad is gonna happen to me now!..I mean, all along in this club room? slim chance" you muttered to yourself with an exasperated sigh. Maybe you've just been tired recently? Gotta be it. 

Your gaze shifted to the open window with curiosity before something caught your eye. Has..the horizon always been that green?? Maybe it's all that screen time getting to your head and playing tricks. However, the longer you stared, the more apparent it became that this was indeed not a trick on your eyes, but the horizon was indeed turning green. And for the green? it was coming right towards you. "holy shit, is the government fighting with aliens or something?" You began with a light joke, before sweating. "wait. Oh my God its real?" you began to back away from the window, dropping your brush in a panic. The pressure in the air made your breath hitched. Your pulse quickened and without thinking twice. You ducked down into the most protected looking corner of the room with quick prayers and a heavy heart. "please let this be some sick joke..!"

A strange sensation spread throughout your body, it was stiffening yet, a far cry from uncomfortable at the same time.

Dr. Stone Headcanons: As Parents Edition!

Senku: He would most likely adopt, mostly because he doesn't see himself having relations with anyone he would procreate with. He wouldn't be able to handle more than two kids, and he better hope they're into science because he would annoy and bore his kids to death if they aren't. He'd try his best to parent just like his dad; supportive and loving. Senku would take them everywhere, he'd possibly even understand why his dad wouldn't stop talking about him because he wouldn't stop talking about his kids. He'd even talk to his kids about how amazing his dad was. He'd have a smile on his face and teary eyes just mentioning him, but he'd spend hours telling stories to his kids.

Gen: He'd be a very nervous parent at first. Biologically his or adopted, he'd never feel ready when he first held his baby in his hands. He wouldn't feel ready until he learned everything there is to being a father. Gen would be a little overbearing but it's all with love. He'd constantly be afraid that he is coddling his kid too much but he'd try his best. His kid would be so impressed by his little magic tricks and impressions, they'd probably want to grow up to be an entertainer. He'd be hesitant because he knows how stressful the industry can be, but he'd support them. Oh, and you know he is going to tell a lot of cringy dad jokes.

Chrome: Man, he'd be such a dorky dad. The second he would get a hint that his kid(s) would need something, he'd "invent" something only to be told that it was already a thing by the pre-petrification people. He'd also be a little clumsy too. Chrome would even be the kind of dad that would sneak sweets to the kid(s) when the other parent told them they couldn't have any. He'd spoil his kid(s) so much that he wouldn't ever have anything nice to himself because all of his worldly possessions would practically go to them. He'd also want to take them hiking or exploring to learn the lay of the land or find minerals and learn about them.

Tsukasa: Just like how he was for his sister, he would be a provider. He'd make sure that his kids have everything they need. He wouldn't be home a lot, but when he would be, he'd spend every second of their waking hours with them. He'd deeply care for his children. He'd also want to teach them how to care for themselves early on just in case he's not always around. Though he wouldn't be the best at emotionally connecting with his children.

Ukyo: He'd never want to be a parent in the first place, but he'd accept being a dad if it came to it. At first he would be anxious, but his great hearing actually helps him parent better, at least in the infant stages. It'd be like his sixth sense to immediately know what his kid needs and he'd smoothly handle any situation flawlessly. He'd be an excellent problem solver, making sure his kid has everything they need.

Ryusui: Because he'd want to keep the Nanami Corp. legacy going, he'd have multiple children, maybe four. He'd want to have them close in age and make sure they bond. While he wouldn't be so attentive to their basic needs (He has Francois for that), he'd be there for their financial and emotional needs. He'd make sure all of them know how to manage money, upkeep a business, and stay rich. Oh, and of course he would take his kids sailing all the time, as well as indulging in every single of their whims. If they want something, he just has to get it for them because how could he deny any of their desires? His greed would almost definitely extend to his children.

Kohaku: She'd be a little overbearing but only because she had to go through years of trying to heal her sister. She'd also be a provider, but also a pretty scary mama bear. She'd be a strong protector and no one would want to mess with her kids. They'd be strong just like her, with incredible sight too. She'd train them just how she was taught how to fight and make sure that they learn science from the best, Senku. She'd think about the future of her kids and how much the Kingdom of Science has changed her life. She would want everyone in her life to also be a little involved in her kids' lives.

Francois: They could have a kid canonically and we don't know it. We don't even know how old they are. Ryusui barely knows anything about this person. They are a lovely mystery and I'd like to think that they do have a kid or did pre-petrification and somehow the Nanami family just didn't know about it. Francois would somehow find the time and energy out of their exhausting day for their child. Otherwise, I think it'd be near impossible for them to have a kid with their busy schedule.

Ruri: She'd love every second of being a mom. She'd tell them stories every night (tell the 100 tales as tradition eventually), dress them up in matching outfits, and plan to travel the world with them. She would want to make sure that her kids see a lot of their aunt and learn a thing or two from her about how to be tough like her. She'd also want to take raise them around the Five Wise Commanders so that they could learn from them as well.

Yuzuriha: She'd be determined that her children are some sort of artists. She'd make every article of clothing they wear, every blanket they've every slept under, and every pillow they'd lay their heads on. Some her kids first stick figure drawing or finger painting, she'd proudly hang any piece of art up for display. A proud mother she would be if her kids turn out to be artists. She'd want to teach them everything she knows, which is mainly crafty stuff, but crucial to rebuilding society.

Taiju: He would be one of the most proudest fathers in the world. He'd be way too excited to be a dad, hyping up every moment he has with his kids. Their firsts would be like his firsts, no matter how many kids he would have. He'd be very fun to use as a jungle gym by his kids because he would practically be able to carry them anywhere and be climbed on easily. He would never wan to deny giving his kids a piggy back ride if they needed one because he wouldn't want their little legs to ache on a long walk.

Xeno & Stanley: Strict and Laid Back. Not saying which one though, that would be up for interpretation by literally anybody that interacts with these two and their children. (Yes I ship these two, I'll be tagging that)

Sai: He'd want to pass on his hobbies and passions to his children, but he'd never want to make it seem like they had to be a successor of anything. He'd want them to share what he loves, but also feel free enough to follow their own dreams and use their gifts for something that they're comfortable with. He'd feel bad for not hanging out with his brother when they were younger, so he'd make sure his kids have good quality bonding time with each other to maintain a close relationship that he sort of wishes he had always had with Ryusui.

○ A cautious man in all things, Ukyo is the type to watch the waters before even testing them, all long before he ever makes the decision to jump in. As such, any relationship with him tends to be an extremely slow-burn. Even once he’s started to develop feelings for someone Ukyo is often the type to try to take a step back from his own infatuation and look at his interest in a more genuine light, wanting to make sure he thinks pursuing them is going to be a genuinely good idea with the potential to be fruitful before he falls too hard to recover.

○ Even once Ukyo has his mind set on someone he’s careful about the way he approaches them, flirtation often subtle as he tests out their reactions. Even though Ukyo knows his own feelings he’s not confident about theirs until they’ve told him directly - as such, he never pushes too hard, afraid that too much pressure might shatter whatever it is that they have going on. Much as Ukyo wants more, what he wants most is just to be able to keep them nearby; he’s not willing to sacrifice what they do have for what they could have.

○ Though his more direct, romantically-natured actions towards the person are seldom and subtle, it is still extremely obvious to anyone with at least ⅕ of their senses just how much Ukyo cares for the person he’s interested in. He doesn’t mean for it to be, but the way he reacts to things, and his more passive responses to things that involve the person he cares for make it pretty clear how he feels about them. As embarrassed as Ukyo is if anyone ever confronts him about it, he won’t end up lying to them. He’s not whatsoever in denial about the fact that he likes who he likes, nor is he ashamed to admit it. He’s just afraid of making them uncomfortable were they to find out.

○ Ukyo is, plainly, extremely anxious about the wellbeing of all of his friends. This is doubled (at least) when he develops feelings for someone, even before they’re officially in a relationship. Of course, he isn’t outspoken about this. He never wants to be controlling or let his feelings get in the way of progress. Still, more often than not he’s volunteering to go on missions with them to keep an ear for safety’s sake, suggesting safer routes for them to do things, or staying awake worried sick as he listens for their returning footsteps when they do go off without him. More than anything Ukyo just needs reassurance that they’re ok. He’s never controlling or possessive in terms of trying to prevent them from doing things, nor is he passive-aggressive in getting angry if they don’t follow his advice. Instead, he just wants to know they’re alright and unharmed - safe and alive.

○ So when I said slow-burn I actually did mean it very much. Like, if the person Ukyo has fallen for isn’t willing to make the first move and confess to him first, he probably actually just won’t say anything about it until some dire emergency makes him think he’s lost the chance. If they do confess first Ukyo is elated, honestly probably no matter how it happened; he’s excited and relieved that his feelings are shared and he can stop holding them back so much, and quick to assure them that he feels the same way (even though they probably already know.) If they don’t confess first it’s not until something happens that’s shocking enough to shake Ukyo into action that he moves. He needs to be forced into the realization that never being fully honest with them would be worse than rejection before he’s willing to accept it. If something makes him realize that, though, he doesn’t waste much time in telling them how he feels. It’s a little messy and he trips over some of what he had prepared to say, but he does his best to make the moment sweet - even if the setting is probably pretty relaxed.

○ Ukyo is actually pretty clingy as a partner. He isn’t overbearing in terms of requiring all of his partner’s time or attention, less so clingy in the sense of needing to constantly engage with them and more so clingy in the sense that he likes to know they’re around. Don’t get me wrong, Ukyo is usually extremely happy to spend his free time doing just about anything with his partner if it means spending time with them and he’s usually happy even just to sit with them while they do whatever it is they’re doing: usually, though, he’s satisfied just being able to hear the echoes of their voice and laughter from somewhere in the camp, knowing they’re around. Fortunately, his near super-hearing makes that pretty easy for him. That being said, his near constant ability to hear his partner makes it all the more uncomfortable for him whenever he can’t. Ukyo is quick to worry if he doesn’t know where his partner is and he can’t hear them around, and he can become uncomfortably lonely if they have to leave the village for an extended period of time without him.

○ Physical touch is this man’s primary love language. When he isn’t romantically involved with someone Ukyo is usually decently hands-off, and engages in next to no physical affection with others (obviously with occasional minor exceptions.) He isn’t touch-adverse in the least bit; however, he sees most physical affection as fairly intimate and prefers to share such things only with his partner - at least on his end. Though he needs to be sure his partner is alright with it before he becomes more physical with them, he eases into the closeness quickly and it isn’t long before Ukyo’s presence almost guarantees a hand on their leg or shoulder, a hug, or other form of affection - though he is much more reclusive when others are around. When they’re alone in private Ukyo is as tied to them as they’re comfortable with him being. Ukyo’s cute, snuggly side is something he only really shows to his partner, though - their little secret. When he rests his head in their lap while they play with his hair Ukyo feels more at peace than ever.

○ While he is very sweet and it’s never a secret that he adores his partner, Ukyo is still a very casual, laid-back partner. He’s always been more one for small, meaningful gestures and subtlety. As such, he isn’t the type of person to perform large, romantic gestures, and is never one to profess his love in any kind of dramatic or public setting. What Ukyo craves more than anything in a relationship is the safety of comfort. He prefers to spend much of his time with his partner doing things that are a bit more relaxed, escaping from the hectic nature of the world they live in.

○ Ukyo is at almost all times calm, collected, cautious, and thoughtful in his actions. He is also very seldom one to react on behalf of his partner if they don’t need him to intervene, often keeping any probing jealousy buried and reassuring himself with affection from them after the fact. It comes as a shock to most that Ukyo is extremely protective when the situation calls for it. It really isn’t until there’s some kind of perceived danger that Ukyo will act in any way other than distraction or de-escalation, but if someone dares threaten the person he loves, Ukyo is almost unrecognizable. He is terrified to death of them being hurt, even above his own sense of self-preservation. Threats made to his partner’s well-being are an extremely personal, unforgivable offence to Ukyo, and he reacts as such. He can actually be a little scary when he stops being nice. Of course, once the threat has passed he’s all worried hands and nervous questions to make sure his partner is alright.

○ Planning small surprises for his partner is one of Ukyo’s favourite things to do. He’s not the rose petals leading into a candle-lit bath type, but he does like to do nice things to make his partner happy or to take excess stress off of their shoulders. Often it’s things like surprising them when they get home with a finished plate of their favourite available meal, working with Senku to make them some sort of gift they’ve been missing from the modern world, or similar things that seem small, but mean a lot to his partner. If his partner is having a difficult time with something these efforts double down. Open as he is to talk if his partner initiates, Ukyo is more one to show his love and support by doing things to prove he’s there for them.

This is classified as Romantic!Reader for Dr. Stone, hehe if you don’t mind. I headcannon that before reader and Ukyo got together, every time reader is near Ukyo, reader’s heart beat accelerates, and we all know Ukyo has very enhanced hearing so he can hear reader’s heart accelerate. When he does, he teases reader about it. He knew reader liked him before they could even confess due to their heart accelerating but he prefers that they tell him face-to-face. So Ukyo made reader admit the reason to the heart acceleration with dem good ol’ tiggles. (Then reader gets flustered by the fact that he already knew and just wanted them to say it.)

The way this headcanon left me on my knees it is SO GOOD. God I love the "character with really good hearing can hear heartbeats" troupe so much you don't even KNOW! This is majestic- thank you anon! :D

“It’s racing again.” Ukyo spoke softly, watching you fluster. Oh one of the many perks of having good hearing. Sure- there were downsides too, but the ability to hear your heartbeat race made them worth it. “Why do you suppose that is?”

“I don’t know- you make me nervous.” You looked away, trying for cool. His soft laughter made your face grow hotter- and you could feel your heartbeat racing again. “It’s that hearing of yours. It’s eerie.”

“You don’t mean that.” He was closer, hands on your sides and fingers poised. “I can hear it in your voice- you’re lying.”

“No- it’s eerie and creepy and freaky!” You puffed more- starting to twitch when he curled his fingers. “You’re like that one blonde kid from Demon Slayer!”

“Pfft-” Ukyo laughed, face against your back as he hung onto you gently. “Pleahahahse- that’s so cruel!”

“It’s the truth.” Another lie. Ukyo snickered.

“Okay, liar pants; I guess I’m just gonna have to get the truth out of you the only way I know how.” He attacked quickly, digging into your sides and running his hands up and down them. You wished you could say you didn’t respond, or that you were immune.

Instead, you burst into laughter almost immediately- dancing and squirming in his arms as he carried on tickling. “Nohohohoho! Nohoohoho you sohohohn of a hahahahahah! Gheahahha, Uhuhuuhukyohoohooho!”

“Yes, (Y/N)?” He asked, voice teasing. “Got something to tell me?”

“Lihihihike hehehhell I dohohooho! Aheahhaa-GHAHH OOHOOHKAY OHOHOKAY FIHIIHINE!” He went for a spot he knew would break you- leaving you to fall to your knees and cough through your laughter. Seconds later, he presented the water canteen. Where’d he get that, you didn’t know- but you were grateful all the same. “Thaahhanks..”

“Of course. Now- you were saying?” He asked, sitting across from you. You felt your face heat up again before sighing.

“I…really like you. That’s why my heart races whenever I see you.” You waited for him to laugh, to gasp in surprise- to do anything.

But he only hummed, nodding. “Knew it.”

“HUH?” You yelled, wide eyed as he grinned. “What do you mean?”

“You’re not exactly subtle, (Y/N).” He laughed- the sound increasing tenfold when you lunged at him for revenge tickles. “Whahahait wahahhit I’m shahahaharry!”

“You’re gonna be, you gremlin!” You cried in return, giggling the entire time. Your heart was still racing- much to Ukyo’s enjoyment.

a/n — first post! dedicated to a close friend who got me into this series and helped me figure these out. enjoy my take on these characters!

☁️ chrome ;;

give | receive ~ gift giving / acts of service

• Chrome is someone who always wants to make himself useful. If he can do things to make your life easier or to make you smile — he will. This translates into how he shows affection to a partner.

• Considering the effort he puts into science just to try and heal Ruri, actions speak louder than words for him. By no means is he someone who can properly express himself through words to you, anyway. He’d be far too flustered.

• Instead, he takes to using a combination of acts of service and gift giving to show that he loves and cares about you. If you’ve complained of a problem — no matter how small — he’ll put forth as much effort as possible to solve it with science.

• If you ever feel sore after a long days of work, he can figure out how to make something to help soothe it! Surely, after making the sulfa drug, it won’t be as hard! Having trouble hauling things up and downhill? He’ll find a process to make it easier for you! If not, he’ll just help you himself, of course! Whatever it is that he can do — he will. If it means making your life easier or taking a little off your workload, he’d do anything in his power.

• For the most part, he’ll try his best to figure it out on his own, but he isn’t afraid to ask Senku for help if it’s for your sake. Once he’s finished, he’ll happily showcase whatever it is he’s made to you — explaining the process behind it as he does so.

• In all honesty, doing things for you, making things for you — it comes naturally to him. Chrome is creative yet practical. In his eyes, of course he’ll make something if you mentioned having a problem with it. Of course, he’ll make you a gift reflective of something from the modern age because you mentioned it. Science is all about making things easier for others and making people smile, so is it so strange that he’ll do that for you — a person he loves so dearly?

• The process coming naturally to him doesn’t mean he puts no thought into it — quite the opposite, actually. Showing his affection through action and gifts comes naturally because he’s always considering you in all he does. He thinks about the smile you’ll have on your face, or the fact that if you could, you’d also do so much for him purely because you love him.

• You support him in a way no one else has before, so he repays you in the way that makes the most sense to him — science and all of the gifts it can offer to you.

• At the end of the day, any all-nighters, struggles, and pain is worth seeing you smile. In Chrome’s eyes, seeing you smile is far more fulfilling than his experimenting creating a fruitful product.

• Chrome thinks that if he can keep making you happy with something he loves doing — something you’ve always effortlessly supported him in, then it just makes his chosen path even more worthwhile.

give | receive ~ words of affirmation

• Considering the amount of effort he puts in for others, Chrome really values when people recognize it. He loves hearing praise and affirmation for his achievements — true recognition for the amount of painful labor that goes into every scientific project he works on with Senku and Kaseki.

• If you praise him for figuring something out on his own, regardless of whether or not it’s something that people from the modern era have already seen, he’ll try to act casually. Chrome will insist that it’s only natural he managed — he is a scientist, after all!

• However, you don’t miss the way he genuinely smiles, face flushed a light shade of red — elated that someone recognizes the hard work and passion he puts into every single process he does.

• After a while of inventing crazy things, smaller things might go unnoticed despite the effort they take, so Chrome really appreciates that you still praise and happily share awe over these things. He likes knowing that he doesn’t have to create something absolutely crazy to be worthy of your praise — you see the effort, not the end product.

• Beyond just praise for his achievements, Chrome needs someone who’ll be there at his low points. It can get frustrating when he relentlessly experiments to no avail, or when he feels like he’s made a huge oversight that’ll result in him having to start from scratch.

• While he’ll never openly express it to others, he has his moments where he feels worlds behind Senku or even Kaseki’s level of intelligence. Some days, he still feels like the boy that called himself a sorcerer with no clue as to the processes behind what he was doing. Sometimes, he loses track of the progress he’s made.

• That’s why it’s so important that you remind him that he is a scientist — he brings his own expertise to the table that even Senku or Kaseki don’t. You remind Chrome that he’s earned his place as a scientist through backbreaking effort and a desire for knowledge.

• When he struggles with an experiment, you channel excitement back into the conversation, insisting that you can’t wait to see what he’ll try next. When he makes an oversight, you tell Chrome that he’s finally got it figured out, so he’s one step closer to the satisfaction of the end product. In Chrome’s moments of doubt, you remind him of how much he’s accomplished and encourage him to keep going.

• Because at the end of the day, he’s bound to have his ups and downs. Having you there to remind him that someone is supporting him — that someone loves him despite any failures or drawbacks is so important to him. It makes things easier and all the more worthwhile.

give | receive ~ words of affirmation

• Gen is skilled when it comes to the way he uses his words. It’d be no different when it comes to his partner. He knows exactly what to say no matter the mood you're in — happy to provide words of comfort, reassurance, and support.

• However, don’t mistake his actions as manipulative or deceitful. He will never say anything to you that he doesn’t mean — each carefully selected word is truthful, always reflecting what he believes. Being good with words mixed with being a mentalist does not mean he’ll lie to you.

• Actually, being a mentalist is what helps Gen understand the weight and power that words can have over a person. The last thing he’d ever want to do is use that to hurt you — so he’ll be truthful with all that he says to you.

• Honestly, it’s not difficult for him to be honest when it comes to you. When he praises you, it’s because he’s genuinely proud of the effort you’ve put in. When he helps reassure you, it’s because he knows that, with time, things will improve. After all, he’ll be there by your side to ensure that it gets better. When Gen provides comfort, promising to remain by your side no matter the situation, it’s because he wants to — he hopes to keep that promise regardless of any hardships you may face in the Stone World.

• Gen is far too used to having to use his words to deceive others, so it’s relieving to be able to use them in the way he wants when it comes to you. He doesn’t have to worry about you being skeptical of what he’s saying. You trust him — you know that he’ll never do anything to try and trick you. Every word he says to you is true, and even if he did feel the need to conceal the truth from you, you’d know it’s because he has a good reason to.

• Above all else, Gen wants to protect you and be a constant source of support for you. Whenever you struggle, he wants you to know that you can come to him and he’ll talk you through all of your troubles.

• With Gen by your side, you’ll never stay nervous for too long. As soon as he notices that you’re worrying about something, Gen will be there to soothe you — happy to remind you that he loves you dearly, and no matter what may happen, he’ll be there to support you.

give | receive ~ acts of service

• When it comes to what Gen prefers to receive, acts of service rank the highest for him.

• Gen is used to doing things and having things done for him because of deals he makes. If someone does something for him unprompted, he automatically assumes that it’s because the other person wants something from him.

• Having someone do things for him to make his life easier or to make him happy, purely because they love him, is something that Gen isn’t used to.

• In the modern world, people did things for him because he was famous and they wanted something, be it money or fame. In the New World, people do things for him in order to convince him to use his abilities as a mentalist for some insane plan with a slim chance of working.

• Most things done for him are purely transactional, so when you do things for him, he’s shocked to learn that you expect nothing in return. He tries to scan you for any sign that you may be lying but finds nothing. When he asks why and you respond that it’s because you love him, it’s difficult for him not to fall for you even harder than before.

• Despite being so unfamiliar with this type of affection, Gen adores it. You’re always looking out for him and considering him without him having to say anything. You’ll lend a helping hand without Gen asking, and you’ll make things for him when you recognize that he’s getting worn out.

• Overall, you’re always thinking of him and it shows in the way you act. And every time he asks how he can repay you — if you want anything in return — you’re quick to shut him down. You’ve never needed him to do anything in return — it was never, and will never be, transactional to you.

• To you, he’s enough. Loving him is enough of a repayment, and Gen has never felt happier to have you by his side.

☁️ kohaku ;;

give | receive ~ acts of service

• Kohaku doesn’t see the value in materialistic things, and often finds herself too busy with various tasks to truly offer up as much time as she’d like to you. However, she can show her love through actions.

• Similar to how she hauled hot spring water back and forth for Ruri when she was ill, Kohaku expresses her love in the things she does for you. Her each and every action is imbued with her heartfelt wish to see you happy. There is no limit to the lengths she’ll go to to see you smile.

• If you’re sick, Kohaku will fret over you — stemming from a mix of concern for your well-being and a fear that you’ll become as unwell as her sister did. She hasn’t lost anyone since science was introduced in her life, and she certainly isn’t planning on doing so now.

• Even when you’re not sick, Kohaku is always looking out for you. Nothing escapes her keen eye. When you find yourself even a little tired, Kohaku is there to offer you a shoulder to lay on while you recover and rest. If you’re injured, she’s the first one to help you sit down and try her best to patch you up.

• Despite how direct Kohaku can be, she’s always shown affection better through actions than words. She doesn’t consider herself intelligent like Senku or good with words like Gen. However, she’s nothing if not honest, so her love reflects in the way she acts.

• Kohaku has a good enough memory to recall the things you’ve mentioned wanting or needing. As much as she wishes that she could do something about it herself, she’s happy to pass the task on to the Science Team. If it’ll make you smile, she doesn’t feel the need to be the direct reason for it.

• Though, even if she tries to insist she didn’t lift a finger, the scientists will always credit her for any ideas she brings up on your behalf. As much as she tries to brush it off, she can’t deny the way her heart flutters when she receives your genuine gratitude.

• Kohaku is happy to do anything and everything for you. She wants to protect you because you make her happy — and you’re someone precious to her. If it takes a little effort on her part to keep you healthy and protected, she’s happy to contribute. After all, to her, you’re worth it.

give | receive ~ physical affection

• Kohaku enjoys being shown that she’s loved and cared for. For her, the best way to do that is through physical affection. Kohaku often treats others roughly, having always been someone with a tough love type of mindset.

• However, when it comes to herself, she appreciates it when someone treats her kindly. More often than not, the only touch she experiences is through sparring and fighting — never anything gentle or loving.

• Growing up, she became far too afraid to show affection to Ruri due to her sickly state, not wanting to accidentally injure her sister. Even now, she’s often told that she hugs too tight or squeezes too hard. It makes her afraid to initiate affection.

• It becomes incredibly important to her when you start initiating physical contact on your own. She can be a bit of a brute sometimes — aren’t you afraid?

• She’s equally relieved and elated that you aren’t. You’re happy to shower her in gentle affection and touch — bringing her a lot of comfort. When things get tough, she needs that physical touch as a reminder that you’re still there — that you’re alive.

• The Kingdom of Science has many close brushes with death. Naturally, this’ll include you and Kohaku. When it’s all said and done, she loves being able to relax in your embrace and listen to your heartbeat.

• When she’s having a hard time, she doesn’t always want to talk, so it’s nice to have someone there who won’t force her into speaking about her troubles. Kohaku enjoys that you’ll just be there to hold her tight and soothe her when things start to get heavy.

• As protective as she is of you, she enjoys having someone who wants to protect her, as well. She enjoys knowing that you’ll always be there for her — that you’ll never shy away from giving her affection even if she can be a little brash or rough at times.

• Kohaku may be a warrior, but she’s still human. She craves that physical touch from you, consciously or otherwise. Whether it be holding your hand while walking around, or her just gravitating to your side when she isn’t busy — she always seeks out your warmth.

• Of course, if someone calls her out on it, she’s quick to deny it. However, as long as you don’t mind it, she’s happy to receive your love and touch because it shows her how much you truly do love her.

☁️ ryusui nanami ;;

give | receive ~ gift giving

• Ryusui has a lot of money at his disposal in the modern era and in the new age now, as well. While he can be indulgent, he’s also smart with his money. He uses it intentionally and can remember just about everything he’s spent his money on. He uses his money to uplift and motivate others, so it’s only natural that he does the same with you.

• Even in the New World, he could buy just about anything he wanted. However, when it comes to selecting gifts for you, he’s intentional about it. He sees no point in giving someone a gift if you aren’t going to carefully consider the other person’s preferences. It’d be a waste of money, and it wouldn’t do much to motivate you or make you happy, so he knows he has to be careful.

• Despite his carefulness with money, Ryusui would be more willing to spend more to indulge you. He loves you, and he wants to make sure you know it. Of course, if you tell him not to go overboard with it, he’ll listen to you.

• He’ll find whatever excuse he can to get you a gift. If a mission is successful, he’ll buy you something to commemorate. If he’s been away for a long while, he’ll buy you something to make up for it. Even if you just mention wanting something, he’ll buy it or will pay the science team to make it.

• By no means is he trying to buy your love. He isn’t the type. If he desires you, he knows he can’t just buy you out. Actually, the gifts serve the purpose to make you happy and to remind you of him when he’s busy. As the Kingdom of Science trusts him more, he finds that he’s busier and busier. To make up for it, he wants to make sure you’ll have things that remind you of him or will keep you occupied to ease the loneliness at least a little.

• For similar reasons, he’ll buy you clothing or accessories so, in a way, he can always be with you even when he’s away. Hell, if you wanted it, he’d give you his own things if it’ll help make you happy and ease your heart when he can’t be there with you himself.

• Ryusui knows that he can’t buy your happiness or love, but if the gifts he gets you can make you at least a little happier, then it’s worth it in his eyes. He desires anything and everything, but one of his strongest desires is to see you happy.

• The way you smile when you receive a heartfelt present from him is worth every penny he spends because, in return, he gets to show you how much he loves you and see you at your happiest. That alone is absolutely priceless.

give | receive ~ quality time (slight manga spoilers ahead)

• Since he was young, Ryusui has always seen the value in spending time with those you love. Memories are priceless, so he appreciates when you make time for him. He loves spending quality time with you working on something together, relaxing side-by-side, or even just sitting together and doing absolutely nothing.

• Considering how things went with his brother, Sai, he places an even bigger emphasis on spending time together. While he’ll usually go after what he desires, Ryusui is self-aware, so he knows that he may come off as forward and forceful. The last thing he wants us for you to feel pressured to spend your time with him. That’s why he enjoys it so much when you go out of your way to plan something with him or make time for him.

• Time is invaluable in his eyes. The fact that you’re so willing to give so much of it to him makes him feel loved — it lets him know that you care and you see him as someone worth spending time with. To him, it showcases the fact that you don’t need anything from him to want to spend time with him — you're happy just being by his side.

• Although Ryusui can be a bit flashy and extravagant in his chosen activities and hobbies, he’s happy to do anything with you. If you’d prefer a quiet night in, he’s elated to sit by your side and chat with you away from prying eyes. If you’d prefer something more adventurous — he’ll be there by your side should you ever grow fearful!

• He tries his best to make sure you two capture as many memories as possible in photos. He wants to remember every moment he spends with you.

• In his rare moments of frustration or melancholy, truthfully, he desires nothing more than your company. If he has to spend his day upset or frustrated over an issue or obstacle, he’d much rather do so with you by his side. He finds comfort in your presence, even appreciating if you’re simply in the room with him while he works.

• Being able to simply turn around and have you there means a lot to him. You could be anywhere doing whatever you please, but you’re choosing to instead spend that time in his presence. It makes his heart beat a little faster each and every time.

• Each time he remembers how wonderful it is that he has the person he desires most in the world by his side, he’ll walk over to you, hug you tightly, and thank you for remaining by his side.

• And it always makes Ryusui feel loved when you tell him that there’s nowhere else you’d rather be.

☁️ ukyo saionji ;;

give | receive ~ physical affection

• Ukyo, with his precise hearing, is typically able to catch on when you’re having a tough time or are struggling with something. However, he isn’t exactly great with words, nor does he want to make you feel like you have to talk to him.

• He knows it can be a little uncomfortable because it’s hard to keep a secret from him. However, he never wants you to think he doesn’t care, so he uses physical affection to silently show you that he’s here for you, loves you, and is always willing to hear you out should you want someone to listen to.

• Whether it be a gentle hug, holding your hand, or lending you his shoulder, he’ll do all he can to express how much he adores you without making you feel pressured into telling him every little thing.

• Beyond just times of need, he’s happy to show you affection casually, as well. It comes naturally to him. When he’s sitting and working on something, he’s used to having you next to him and will let you lean against him or hold his hand. It’s not strange for him to have his hand intertwined with yours even when you’re just walking around the Kingdom of Science.

• Ukyo is a fan of soft, little shows of PDA here and there but will never do anything that’ll make you uncomfortable. If anything, he’ll abstain from it completely if it makes you uncomfortable. Either way, in private, he’s affectionate toward you, showering you in hugs, kisses, or whatever your preferred form of physical touch may be.

• Let it be known that he isn’t above teasing you from time to time either. If he hears your heartbeat quicken, he’ll poke fun at you for it, happy to see that he has just as much of an effect on you as you have on him. He finds any and all of your reactions endearing, but will never tease you in public. After all, he’d hate to make you even a little uncomfortable.

• He loves showing you just how loved you are, and when he hears your heart skip a beat, he knows that his message is getting across — you know that you’re adored, supported, and cared for. That’s what truly matters to him above all else.

• If it takes him holding you close and squeezing you a little tighter for you to feel confident in his feelings for you, then it’s easily worth the effort.

give | receive ~ quality time

• Having hearing like Ukyo’s is both a blessing and a curse. While it can give him a one-up on enemies and proves useful for the Kingdom of Science, it isn’t exactly something he can just turn off. Even when he doesn’t want to be, he’s constantly drowning in sound — overlapping conversations, animals from afar, and the sound of hard labor mix into a cacophony that often makes him overwhelmed.

• Typically, he’s good at concealing how much it bothers him to be able to hear so much. Things that may sound quiet to others might echo loudly in his ears, but he’ll never say a word so as to not inconvenience others.

• Having you there to recognize when he gets overwhelmed, and having you there to spend time with him when he needs a moment away from it all is so important to him. Before meeting you, Ukyo has never realized how nice it is to have someone who understands that he’s prone to getting overwhelmed.

• You always seem to notice when he’s getting fatigued or when his head starts to hurt from listening to countless things all day. It never matters when it happens, you always make time for him to pull him away from the chaos of it. You’ll take Ukyo somewhere private and quieter, gently showering him in quiet affection while he rests in your arms.

• Ukyo appreciates that you don’t mind spending time with him in silence. Of course, he loves having fun with you on normal dates, but it’s these silent moments spent in each other’s embrace that mean the most to him.

• It reminds him that you’ll never make him uncomfortable or push him when he’s at his limit. You’re happy just being with him — you don’t always need fancy dates or to even fill the silence with chatter. It makes him feel loved knowing that you’re content to keep him in your arms.

• You’ll sometimes cover his ears for him if even the distant sounds seem to be bothering him. Then, you’ll spend as much time with him as he needs. Ukyo always feels bad for wasting your time in such a way, but he’s quickly reminded of how much you care when you reassure him.

• Time spent with him is never time wasted in your eyes. You’re happy to do so to make him more comfortable and to make sure he’s taken care of when he gets a little too overwhelmed.

• The last thing you’d want is for him to struggle on his own — you love him, and you want him to be able to spend time with someone who cares to prove to him that he doesn’t have to stay quiet when he’s in pain.

• It works — because Ukyo knows that come hell and high water, you’ll always have time to spend with him should he need it, and he loves you dearly for it.

I don’t see Ryusui really noticing at first lol. If anyone were to ask him if you have dyslexia he’d probably just shrug and be all like “idk but who cares?”

When he sees the red on your face when he points out you’re sentence is missing some words he feels so bad

“Love I didn’t mean to offend you! I’m so sorry I just want you to make a good grade that’s all!”

“I know Ryusui… it’s just so hard dealing with this…”

“With what?”

“Ryusui you know I’m dyslexic right? Ryusui?”

Immediately goes to Senku💀

He wants to know how he can help you

If you want a professional to help with your words and/or writing than bet Ryusui will have like 10 of the best at your doorstep in 10 minutes 

If you just wanted some encouragement than Ryusui’s got plenty of it!

“Hey love it’s alright. Take your time I’ll be here to listen.”

He’s always here for you to vent and to listen no matter what

Sai:

Sai is more likely to catch on, but doesn’t want to say anything because he’s worried he’ll offend you if he’s wrong

He does bring it up though when he sees you having a hard time reading a menu at a restaurant 

“Darling do you want me to read it for you?”

With a blush you nod, that’s all he needs to know

He has no problem helping you 

He makes sure that if you spelt something wrong or need help reading something to whisper it so you’re not embarrassed 

If you ever get frustrated he’s definitely someone to go to. He’s not good with words but while hold you and let you vent

Ukyo: 

He heard you mumbling to yourself when he found out 

“Damn this stupid dyslexia…”

He never brought it up to you but definitely helped a lot

When he talks to you he always waits with a smile for your response 

“Sorry Ukyo, it just takes some time for me to find my words…”

“Hey don’t ever be sorry! Take all the time you need.”

If you ever misspell something he’ll either whisper it to tell you and give you a small sign like gently tapping your shoulder or motioning his head towards the word

He wants to help you in anyway you can, so if you wanna read to him to help yourself then he’s gonna listen

If you wanna write him little notes he’ll read them and identify any changes if needed

“Take deep breaths baby, we’ll get through this together!”

Tsukasa:

He found out when you went to one of his matches

You help a sign that read I love you Tuskasa!! 

He didn’t say anything to you after the match, but Mirai did 😀 kids are so bold I swear

“Big sis that’s not how you spell Tsukasa’s name!”

Your face immediately reddens as you look at the sign again. You didn’t recognize it at first but after slowly reading it you found the issue

“O-oh…my bad. I didn’t mean to-“

“It’s alright princess. No harm done, in fact I love the sign.”

After that Tsukasa asked you about it and told you Mirai didn’t mean any harm in what she said 

“It’s alright my prince, I’m just embarrassed. The whole arena saw that stupid sign.”

“Hey I told you I love it so don’t talk bad about it!”

His next match it was hanging on his side of the ring❤️

He’ll help you in anyway he can 

He also talks to Mirai so she understands of course she gives you a big hug and apologizes

God forbid someone else gives you crap for it cause he’ll knock them straight out without hesitation

heya, Dr. Stone headcanons of the Wise Generals' (all or any ones you prefer) sleeping habits? Pretty please🥺

i’m sooo indecisive when it comes to headcanons i just end up talking about every perspective! but i hope these are fun! sorry some of these are shorter than others </3 i had more ideas for ryusui and senku

-> SENKU:

I’m pretty sure it was shown or implied very briefly in the show, but I believe Senku is a kind of person who sleeps pretty neatly.

Maybe not like a vampire on his back with his hands crossed over his stomach, but he mostly keeps to himself; his limbs aren’t usually all over the place, and he’s probably just curled within himself on his side. 

I don’t think it’s impossible for him to splay all over, but usually he’s a pretty still sleeper. Maybe he shifts around a little, a stray arm or leg here and there, and unless it’s super hot or cold or he’s unnerved by something, he’ll mostly just stay curled within himself. 

I think it was also shown that he tends to stay up pretty late doing science related things, so maybe a little bit of a night owl, too. 

Has at least once or twice pulled an all nighter doing science related things. Sometimes he isn’t even aware of the time, and he ends up accidentally staying awake all night (which he feels the effects of full force in the morning when he has school). 

It also seems like when he’s nervous about something, he can’t rest easily, either. So most of the time he should be spending sleeping is instead used for problem solving. 

He knows that, logically, he should be investing time and effort into developing and upholding a more than adequate sleep schedule in order for him to function and continue on with his hobbies at 100%. Buuut…he’s an eager person, and, for a lot of the series, a teenager. So his sleep schedule is probably a little all over the place. 

He’s probably out sometime between 12-2am on average though; that’s typically when he starts yawning and his body starts feeling heavy. 

Usually he just ends up exhausting himself with experiments, however, and retires to bed when the words in his textbooks begin to blur by curling himself up under a blanket. 

Doesn’t mind sleeping in the dark, and doesn’t fully mind sleeping with a small light. Too much of either, however, might set him a little on edge or make it harder for him to fall asleep.

Not a deep sleeper but not a light sleeper either. 

If he’s sharing a sleeping space, he’s not going to go out of his way to do anything particularly different. He’ll sleep as usual; depending on the person, he might choose to put some distance. 

If it’s with you, he may just fall asleep facing you. That’s the only notable thing. 

Overall just a generally calm and quiet sleeper.

Also similar to Senku in a lot of ways, such as in that he doesn’t sprawl around too much. 

He’s usually curled up, perhaps even more so than Senku, however, and out like a light. It’s funny for me to imagine him a deeeeep sleeper. 

But in actuality, I think he’d be an inbetween of heavy and light sleeper. When he’s nervous about something, he’s much more aware of himself and his surroundings, so the slightest off detail will have his eyes wide open. 

Usually, though, he can be a pretty heavy sleeper. Maybe a mouth breather. Maybe snores just a little (on occasion). 

Sleeps fairly regularly despite his celebrity status and being a student, or at least finds it harder to pull all-nighters. But like anyone else, he may get restless if he feels nervous about something. 

If I remember correctly, the fanbook mentioned details about his family life not being so great (either that or its some headcanons that resonated with me based on the almost sad expression he makes in reference to his family). Perhaps the exhaustion or stress from that either kept him awake or had him passing out when it came to sleep.

Maybe sleeps in somewhat of a fetus position? Wakes up with his neck killing him (projection). 

If he’s sharing a sleeping space, he might be flirty about it, depending on who you are.

Teases you slightly in every scenario, however; it only depends on what kind of jokes he's making. 

Also depending on his mood, he may start up some late night convos before heading off to sleep, usually if he’s got something on his mind.

In the same bed, I think he would want to be cuddly, but just wouldn’t be able to handle the sweat and discomfort I think, so he goes back over to his side fairly quick.

Has a thousand alarms for the morning because he has a tendency to sleep in or immediately fall back asleep when he wakes up.

-> RYUSUI: 

I can imagine Ryusui’s sleeping habits going either way.

On the one hand, Ryusui can be a pretty deep sleeper. With his pampered lifestyle, he probably has heavenly bedroom accommodations; luxury bed, high brand pillowcases and mattresses and what not. He also doesn’t have very many worries in his life. So he probably sleeps like a rock at night. I can also see that deep sleep habit occurring even in the stone world, much to everyone’s disgust.

At the same time, Ryusui can be weirdly alert. Perhaps this would be more so stone world, but I can see him being disturbed by small changes in the environment and waking up to them.

His sleeping schedule may also be all over the place, but generally organized and well kept up. I imagine that he doesn’t fall asleep too late. 

He does occasionally pull an all-nighter if he’s working on something of his, however. When his mind is set on something, sometimes he can get caught up in it. 

Francois’ character profile lists events pre-petrification, saying they developed “a special drink for Ryusui, who has little time for sleep, to help him recover from fatigue after a short night's sleep.” I forget if context is ever given for this, but it sort of implies Ryusui doesn’t sleep a lot. So the all-nighters may be more frequent than expected. 

Either way, he’s probably one of the first people awake at any time, around maybe 5-6am. He likes to spend his days being productive, so no matter what, he’s typically up bright and early, no matter what time he goes to sleep at. 

I can imagine him with a somewhat firm expression while he sleeps, again, mostly during stone world. The lifestyle sort of toughens him up, makes him a bit more on edge constantly. It’s reflected in his face while he’s sleeping, mouth firm, eyebrows furrowed. He may also have this kind of face while he sleeps pre-stone world too, however, almost like he’s always in a perpetual state of slight unease despite his optimism. 

If he’s sharing a sleeping space with another person, he probably tries to be mindful of differing sleeping schedules…but either way, he might accidentally wake you with crashes depending on what he’s doing.

If he’s with you in bed though, I think he might like to cuddle, at least at first. Until he gets all uncomfortable and accidentally pushes you away.

But you get to share in all his bed luxuries! And all of the things Francois does to help keep Ryusui awake throughout the day also extend toward you on his order. 

-> UKYO:

One of the more calm sleepers. 

He’s another person who’s, again, like Senku, in that he just lies on his side the entire night.

Doesn’t move around too much when he’s sleeping, maybe just to readjust his blanket or whatnot. At most, he’s just repositioning himself to be more comfortable.

I think he too would have a bit of a firm face when he sleeps. 

He may like to hold something when he’s sleeping. It’s usually just the pillow he’s sleeping on top of, but sometimes he might yank it down enough so it's almost like he’s holding it to his chest. 

Also maybe curled up in somewhat of a fetal position, also wakes up with a killer neckache on occasion. 

If he’s sharing a sleeping space with someone, he probably just sticks to his side of the bed. 

Doesn’t mind cuddling, but like most people, that probably just means you’ll break away later in the evening when the two of you fall asleep. 

Might try to watch shows and movies he’s wanted to catch up on only to fall asleep curled up on the couch (you don’t have the heart to wake him) (it's why you have a blanket on your cushions now) (more projecting).

Also may have a billion alarms, all at absurd times. He gives you an apologetic kiss on the forehead if it disturbs your own slumber.

-> CHROME: 

Ultimate mouth breather, ultimate blanket hog, ultimate BED hog (exaggeration). 

I’m mostly kidding, but out of all five, I can imagine Chrome to be one of the more chaotic sleepers. 

His leg is in the air, he’s starfishing, he’s snoring. He’s the whole insufferable package.

At the same time, however, I feel like it’d be funny if people anticipate Chrome to be such a difficult sleeper, only for him to be the exact opposite and instead sleep like a sound baby. 

I can see him being pretty hyperactive during the day and then crashing out at night so much so that he hardly moves, but mostly on days where he’s working himself to exhaustion. 

So take it either way.

If he’s sharing a space with you when he’s sleeping, he might be nervous as hell. Or if you’re a good enough friend, he’ll turn over and pass out with his leg out unapologetically no problem. 

I think for obvious reasons he doesn’t really tend to sleep with anything; no pillows or toys. 

And I also think cuddling is not a big thing. Though you might find an arm or leg tossed over you on restless nights…

If you confront him about those things in the morning, he’ll deny them endlessly.

How long has it been? You can't tell, or more like you couldn't. Time didn't exist, and the few rare moments where you felt like it did? You tried anything and everything within your power to escape from this deep sleep, whatever it was. Maybe this was some really messed up fever dream? Or did the aliens beat the government and now you're in their little experimentation room? 

Then you started to feel it, that small pull, that would set you free. And so It did. It felt like a chain reaction of burning, and then feeling completely refreshed all over your body. It was painful, but as soon as you started to move your hands out of the cracked stone, you felt way better. It was only a few mere seconds, but life didn't feel so dull anymore. 

You squinted as you sat up from your crouched position, the vibrant trees surrounded you, and a breeze rushed towards your body. You struggled for a bit before standing upright, using a tree branch as leverage. The art club room where you had once taken shelter was gone, and instead you were embraced by Mother Nature at her finest. 

It's been a while since you've last seen so many trees. Normally they were all cut down for some kind of usage, like the desks you had at school. It finally struck you that you were in fact, alone. Not in the way that you had hoped when you were in school and you needed some alone time every once in a while.

No, now there wasn't enough noise to indulge in, no gossip to listen to during lunch, and no one to come and check up on you every once in a while. You were officially alone. Nothing but stone statues to grace your eyesight and greenery. The society that you once knew was gone, and you had to at least come to terms with the new environment, so with lanky arms and empty head, you began to get accustomed with your surroundings. 

  Step one: cover up

You fumbled a bit with the leaves that you were able to find and some vine, before successfully covering your most vulnerable parts

Step two: identifying sources of food and water

After rustling though many bushes, you finally came across what seemed to be a fresh source of water from a nearby stream, did it taste good? hell yeah? were you able to find food? fuck no

step three: explore surroundings 

Now this one was a bit challenging, because not only are in the wild with no where to call home, but there could also be wild animals. Without a doubt humans are no longer at the top of the food chain, since zoo's existed, you don't doubt that some pretty hungry beasts are roaming around right this second, even ones who aren't even native to Japan too. 

So that's how you began the hike of worry

So, scrap the whole "oh im alone and there's no one else on the planet now!" now you were face to face with what seemed to be a village. Your only problem? The two guards in front of you, who didn’t seem so keen on your arrival 

“Stop. Who are you and what do you have to do with this village?” His voice was like a sharp blade, a contrast to his counterpart who looked much more relaxed, but curious 

Almost as if it was instinct, you raised your hands "I don't have anything on me, I just need resources to survive is all". The brown haired man narrowed his eyes with something akin to malice. "We don't allow just anyone into our village. Begone"

'begone? what kind of-'

"Kinro, I don't think she looks like a threat! I mean, it's just some harmless girl!" 

'should I be offended or happy he's backing me up?..' you sweat dropped, by the looks at it he was basically feigning at the idea of a girl being let into the village. Pretty scary honestly but you'll take what you can get. "yeah! I'm just some...harmless girl!" you cringed at the words that just left your mouth.

"Rules are Rules Ginro, this is about trust, not about what you can do" he stood tall, spear in hand. He almost looked as if he was belittling you right now. Clearly he wasn't convinced. 

'so he's one of those types, this is gonna be a breeze'

"say, how about I strike you a deal?" you lowered your raised hands and outstretched one. Kinro let out a unimpressed grumble, before finally hearing you out. "I can prove to you guys the im not a threat, and for the hell of it? I'll even make you a promise."

"oh yeah! Kinro loves those so-" "Ginro." the blonde one gave a nervous expression before apologizing. "what if I beat you in a sparring match? Im assuming those spears you carry around aren't for show right?" 

Kinro studied you for what felt like a minute with an unreadable expression. "what are your conditions?" 

'perfect'

"If you win, I'll leave and you will never see me again..If I win however? I'll have the right to stay in your village. Although I have to talk to your chief for that, you cannot deny me access in regards to leaving and entering. Satisfied?" You kept your hand outstretched, waiting for him to take it. It wasn't too long before he gave a brisk nod and stepped forward to take your hand in his much larger one. "I accept your terms, make sure you honor them"

"I expect no less, mr Kinrou" you gave him a smile "..just Kinro, please." pink dusted his cheeks 

Kinro lunged first once it began, spear in hand, and it made you swear he probably had half a mind to kill you and be done with it. You sidestepped the blade, with it narrowly missing your shoulder. He gave you no time to catch breath before spinning his weapon around again in an arc, feeling the air slice as it passed overhead. Using the stone knife that was given to you by Ginro, you aimed for his side. He brought down the spear to block the strike. You stumbled a bit but recovered quickly, so in a desperate attempt, you twisted your body and slid down onto the ground and aimed for his legs. 

In one swell swoop, he lost his balance and began to fall. You used to the small amount of time you had while he struggled to position yourself onto of him, knife aimed to cut through his throat while your legs held him down; one hand holding down his arm.

Ginro watched with surprise as you easily subdued his brother, "Oh no Kinro!" he trembled at the hostility that filled the air.

"I give in." he said with labored breathing. "You have proven yourself more than enough" his once tight grip on his weapon loosened as his body slumped. You shared a strained smile "you fight well"

"same to you..ah, what's your name?"

"[name]. Just [name]"

Dr. Stone Headcanon: Childhood Core Memory Edition!

Senku: The first time he looked into a telescope (He was 3, almost 4 years old and Byakuya let him look into a telescope on New Years).

Gen: Losing his family's trust at 14 years old because of a "mind trick" he did on them. (Probably something along the lines of revealing his parents cheating on each other or just revealing some dark family secrets).

Chrome: Making his first rock collection, he was about 6 years old.

Ukyo: Being taken to piano class at the age of 9 (he totally plays an instrument).

Ryusui: Being given his first ship (he was probably 8 years old).

Tsukasa: Collecting sea shells for Mirai.

Kohaku: When Ruri started to get really sick, maybe around 10 or 12 years old.

Suika: Her first ever hug from Kohaku and later Ruri. She was 6 years old and had just lost her parents.

Ruri: When her mother told her the 100 stories.

Francois: The day they met the Nanami family (they totally have family working for the Nanami corp. and they have known of Ryusui and Sai since birth).

Yuzuriha: The first art set that she got for her birthday or Christmas at round 7 or 8 years old.

Taiju: The first time he ever saw Yuzuriha at age 8 or 9.

Xeno: The first science kit his parents gave him for his birthday at age 10.

I've always thought that Senku is a rambler when he gets nervous. Do you have headcannons for how the other characters react to stress/being nervous?

Ooh, yes I do thank you for the ask! I'll make this one shorter than normal and make a part 2 or 3!

Senku: Dude sweats bullets when he's under extreme stress and starts muttering and rambling about how to get out of the situation.

Gen: He gets extremely shaky and stutters a lot and at times can feel nauseous.

Chrome: He starts to fidget with anything he can find, a rock/mineral in his hand, his shirt, anything. He also starts to focus on one thing and overthink about the stressful situation.

Ryusui: He gets sweaty palms and his voice gets a little strained. He likes to play it cool most of the time but when he gets nervous, he can't exactly hide the stress in his voice.

Ukyo: He would take off his hat and fidget with it, sweat like crazy, and by default be unresponsive or quiet but he tries his best to talk when he has to.

Tsukasa: He would fidget with his hair and bounce his leg or tap on his thigh when nervous.

Suika: She gets a little jittery, and if she's really nervous, rolls up in her watermelon helmet and starts to cry.

Kohaku: She gets aggressive when under stress, so she might say some things she didn't really want to at the time. She also tends to hum very quietly when she's nervous about something, as a way to soothe herself.
