Dr. Stone Headcanon: Ryusui Quarantine Edition!

Luckily, he was home in Japan when lockdown arrived.

He had not just Francois but 4 other servants in his house (still on the Nanami family property, just a separate mansion), so he wasn't alone.

He spent a lot of time designing and building models for ships.

He tried contacting Sai throughout this time, yet he never responded to his texts or calls.

Ryusui really wanted to travel and go outside but wasn't allowed to leave the Nanami property at all until further notice.

The corp. wasn't doing so good the first few months to a year, but nothing much changed for Ryusui.

He needed a new hobby so he started to learn Chinese with Francois and even began to have cooking lessons from/with them.

Ryusui would always post online about how boring quarantine is while he swims in his own indoor/outdoor pool and maybe sun bathe.

The only person he was in close contact to was Francois, other servants often kept to themselves and wore gloves and masks inside the mansion despite living there themselves.

Ryusui would do work outs every day, having an online personal trainer.

When he got the chance to leave the Nanami family property, the first thing he does is get on a small boat with Francois and a family friend and go out on sea for a week.

Ryusui sometimes goes out with just him and Francois on a medium sized boat and spend a whole day outside.

He actually got Sai to respond to him at least once and he just asked how he was doing. The call only lasted 10 minutes but that was better than any failed call to his big brother.

I have a Google doc full of notes about dcst canon (like a list of the characters, general timeline of events, information from the extras/fanbook) for fanfic purposes, and recently since I’m currently drafting the America Arc of Etymologically Identical I was like “ugh. Okay. It’s time.” And pulled up images of the American Colony to analyze. So now I have a long portion of this notes document describing the layout of this place and it’s BONKERS okay my GOD what is HAPPENING architecturally in Xeno’s house IT’S SO WEIRD

it was revealed a while back in a twitter space/youtube interview (i forgor where sorry) that instead of suika, gen was initially planned to be the one to de-petrify first post south america arc and recreate nital to save everyone, and everyone ran with the idea. so did i LMAO/// in case it isn't clear, the first two drawings are part 1 and the rest are a sequel to it !

personally i think that gen would have made nital in less than 7 years (maybe 4-5?) bc he already has a base knowledge of chemistry + he defo picked up chemistry to a certain degree again from following senku around so closely for ~3 years, but 7 years is more angsty and so it shall be uvu

anyway. i wanna draw more dcst !!! rereading the series in one sitting really highlights how good the cast and series was....and i personally think. there is so much potential for a spinoff. a classic stone world cooking spinoff. a fun lil slice of life anthology maybe. stanley and xeno's childhood spent terrorizing the neighborhood extra. just some Thoughts !!

Can we talk about how Ryusui decided to give up one of his desires for the greater good?? I've never seen anyone mention this!!!

We've always seen him do everything in his power to get what he desires, his character is literally being the classic rich guy who always gets what he wants, but well, we know he isn't really like that and this scene is an example of how, even though he's one of the best choices for this trip he knows there's someone slightly better than him and knows I'll be safer if he's not the one to go 🥲

I mean yes, a lot of Stanxeno happens, that can blind us a little bit but please talk more about my man (not mine) Ryusui, he's amazing.
