Honestly, the biggest downfall in the writing of Hotd is that the writers seem barely aware of the actual politics behind the Dance other than the misogyny.
And even that they only touch on in the most surface level way completely divorced from the context of the actual feudal system it exists in.

"what would you do if your partner suggested polyamory?" i would talk about graph theory maybe a bit to much, which, to be honest, they should already be expecting

Somehow we've gotten to the point where the prime minister can't seem to recognise that Israeli soldiers shooting a Palestinian man holding a white flag is a war crime

post-stew report: stew was good of itself. unfortunately i seem to have inherited my great grandmother's "talent" for pastry and made dumplings which could sink a battleship

I am in one of my moods where I comprehend the scope of every horrible thing that can happen to me and then realize how many of them are entirely possible because people are shit and I live in a place I barely tolerate and regret not spitting on when I moved to Georgia

well the thing is that a horror movie has never scared me but i have felt genuine horror while watching a movie before. however that movie was excalibur 1981 and it just made me want to throw up because 15 minutes in there’s a rape scene that no one talks about and everyone who lives that movie so much acts like it’s such a great kids film with nothing totally fucked up happening to women at all. and then i found out the actress playing the character who was raped was the directors daughter. so. no the scene was not necessary to the plot. it was excalibur 1981. the movie about king arthur. and the knights of the round table. although if we really want to get technical i guess misogyny is an integral piece of arthurian legend as a collective concept. but i don’t want to get into that tonight.
