Can someone explain the new super league????
Dude no one on WOSO Tumblr (that I've seen) thinks it is a good idea. We don't need two D1 leagues, that defeats the purpose and will probably die a painful death but while it's in the death throws it will lash out and hurt NWSL. So I'm firmly against.
I would be cautiously optimistic about a relegation system if USL Super League was going to be a D2 league. But this is money grubbing and dangerous to our current league which is just starting to be solid.
Also, some of these places playing in the winter is not possible. WISCONSIN?!?!? In January???? Are you crazy???
All in all, seems like a bad idea and I'm against it.

We DO NOT need two women’s D1 leagues. It is not sustainable!!! NWSL expansion is already happening pretty rapidly. To me, the USL Super League team owners see the money NWSL teams are valued at and are wanting their cut, but with less investment.
I am telling you, there is no way that the Chattanooga team will be able to provide better working conditions that an NWSL team. While I would actually be able to attend games in Chattanooga, there’s no way in hell I could support that as D1 level. D2 or second teams? Sure, but not D1/NWSL level.
Also, DC having two pro teams? A disaster waiting to happen.

my extensive woso game calendar for all you soccer obsessed crazies
leagues included:
wsl
liga f
nwsl
usl super league
a-league
nations league
champions league
international friendlies
club friendlies
international tournaments and qualifiers
club/league tournaments
(if people like the calendar and want me to add other leagues i will consider that in the future)
notes:
it was formatted on google sheets mobile so hopefully they didn’t fuck up my formatting and the colors are easy to differentiate (lmk if not)
it is updated as times and games are added so not everything will be on there now
all the times are in US eastern time (sorry besties that’s just easiest for me)
(idk why it removes parts of the lines cuz it’s not like that when i edit it)

Been watching both USL games. Been impressed with camera/stream quality. Commentary hasn't been super annoying, some nice play and some sloppy play like you'd expect in first games. Definitely having all the games on Peacock is nice and easy for watching.
i turned it on for a little i feel like the quality was meh but overall a good start for a new league but also the standard is alot higher now

Yeah. I dunno. You can talk to women's hockey about how well multiple leagues goes for everyone.
That said, either way, we're gonna need A LOT more refs....
why tf are they trying to make another professional women's soccer league in the us

She isn't negative about the NWSL though. She was even saying positive things about it on a playing perspective—every game matters—it's the developmental aspect. That makes sense.
Yohannes, for example, is on a team in a league that is basically D2 quality. Maybe even D3. Like, the USL super league level. But that means she plays every game.
Yea!

Not Jordan Angeli heading up the effort to bring an NWSL or USL super league team to denver. Way it’s being pandered to the media it seems like whichever league will bite first on the pro women’s soccer front.
When will people see that we’re stepping on our own feet here with trying to make 2 women’s professional leagues happen in the US?
