The US deodorant market size is projected to exhibit a growth rate (CAGR) of 6.3% during 2024-2032. The escalating health and wellness trend among the masses, introduction of gender-specific products, growing demand for eco-friendly deodorants, increasing participation in sports and allied activities, proliferation of e-commerce platforms, recent advancements in skin care science, aggressive marketing and promotional campaigns by manufacturers, and increasing humidity and hot weather conditions are some of the major factors propelling the market.

Nathan's Parked
(All characters are 18+)
Nathan Parker had never quite fit in at Westbrook High. He was the kind of guy who spent his lunch breaks huddled in the back corner of the library, buried in books about superheroes or playing online games. He had thick glasses, messy brown hair that he never quite knew what to do with, and an awkward way of talking that made him stand out in the worst possible way. He didn’t have many friends, and his idea of a "good time" was usually just scrolling through fan fiction on his phone or studying for tests he didn't care much about. Nathan had long accepted that he would always be the geeky loner.
And then there was the secret he kept hidden from everyone: Nathan was gay, and while he didn’t mind the solitude, it would have been nice to share his feelings with someone.
But that was a far-off dream, something he'd shoved into the deepest parts of his heart. Who would want someone like him? Especially at a school where the jocks and cheerleaders ruled the social hierarchy, and someone like him was just… invisible.
One afternoon, after a grueling chemistry class, Nathan found himself wandering the aisles of the local drugstore, searching for something—anything—that might make him feel a little less out of place. He was heading to the deodorant section when something unusual caught his eye.
It was a sleek, black can of deodorant sitting alone on a shelf. Eclipse™ it was called, with the tagline: "Unleash your potential."
Nathan chuckled at the marketing slogan. "Sure, right," he muttered. He had no reason to believe that some fancy deodorant could change his life, but he figured it was worth a try. After all, he was desperate enough to give anything a shot.
As he sprayed the deodorant under his arms, a strange tingling sensation washed over him. Nathan shook his head, laughing at himself. Maybe it was some sort of psychological thing, he thought—his imagination running wild. He glanced at himself in the mirror and froze.
His reflection was… different.
His hair—messy and unkempt just moments ago—was now styled into a perfect wavy middle part, dark brown strands flowing effortlessly in a way that seemed entirely new. His face was sharper, more defined, and somehow more… masculine. His eyes no longer looked tired and worn-out but bright and confident. And his posture—his shoulders were broader, his chest fuller—he stood taller, more at ease.
Nathan blinked. Was this some kind of weird trick of the lighting? He reached up to touch his hair, but his fingers only confirmed what he feared: it wasn’t just his imagination. He was different. His clothes had changed too—gone was his oversized graphic tee and cargo shorts. Now, he wore a tight black compression shirt that showed off a toned chest, a sleek grey hoodie, a pair of jeans that fit him perfectly, and a letterman jacket draped casually over his shoulders. His shoes—new white trainers—looked like something right out of a sports magazine.
"Okay," he whispered to himself, "what the hell is going on?"
A sudden movement caught his eye, and when he turned, he saw a group of cheerleaders walking toward him. A few of them—Liana, Amanda, and Jenna—had been in his chemistry class earlier. But they'd never looked his way before. Now, as they approached, their eyes lit up with recognition. Or maybe it was something else… admiration?
"Hey there, Nathan," Liana said with a playful smile. "Wow, you look… different."
Nathan opened his mouth to speak, but his voice was deeper now, smoother, more self-assured. "Yeah, I guess I’ve… changed a little."
Amanda giggled, flicking her blonde hair over her shoulder. "Changed? You look like you’ve had a total makeover or something. I mean, you used to hide behind those glasses and all that—what are you doing now, hitting the gym?"
Nathan tried to think of a reply, but his mind was a little foggy. He didn’t recognize himself anymore, but he couldn’t help but feel good about the attention. He could feel his chest puffing out, his muscles subtly flexing under the tight shirt, as though his body was responding to the change.
"Yeah," he said with a grin that felt more natural than he expected. "I’ve been hitting the gym… working on a few things."
Liana stepped closer, her eyes glinting with interest. "Well, whatever you're doing, it's working. You should come hang out with us at the game this weekend. We’ve got a big pep rally, and it could be fun. You’d fit right in with the team now."
Nathan blinked. Hang out with them? The cheerleaders? He was just a nerdy kid who kept to himself. But the idea of being part of their world—their confident, carefree world—was suddenly too tempting to ignore. He felt a surge of something that felt like excitement. And… pride? A new sense of self-confidence he couldn’t quite explain.
"I’d like that," he said without hesitation, the words coming out effortlessly. "I’ll be there."
The days that followed felt like a whirlwind for Nathan. In a matter of days, he’d gone from being the awkward, socially-inept loner to one of the most talked-about guys at Westbrook High. His new look and newfound swagger made him the center of attention. The cheerleaders treated him like one of their own, and he soon found himself hanging out with them after school, practicing football moves with the jocks, and getting invited to parties where people actually wanted him around.
But the more Nathan embraced his new persona, the more he realized how much he was changing—not just physically, but mentally. He wasn’t the shy, introverted guy anymore. He was Max Hunter, the popular, athletic jock with a cocky attitude to match. His confidence quickly turned to arrogance, and before long, he was acting like the kind of guy he used to despise.
"Yo, check this out," Max said one afternoon, tossing a football up and down in front of his football buddies, Blake and Trevor. "This is how it’s done, alright?" He spun the ball effortlessly in his hands before tossing it across the field, landing it perfectly in Blake’s arms.
Blake threw him a high-five. "Damn, Max, you’ve been killing it lately. You're the new king around here."
Max grinned, his eyes flashing with arrogance. "Damn straight. It’s all about putting in the work and looking good while doing it. Don't know why I wasted all that time reading comics before."
Trevor chuckled, shaking his head. "Man, you’ve changed. But in a good way."
Max gave a half-smirk. "Of course I’ve changed. I’m Max now. I’m not some nerdy little nobody anymore." He ran a hand through his hair, letting the group admire his perfect waves. "And it’s about time the world noticed."
As the week went on, Max’s new life was in full swing. He’d been casually hooking up with pretty much every cheerleader in school. It started with Liana, of course. She was beautiful, confident, and everyone’s idea of the "perfect girl." Max had charmed her with his cocky smile and athletic physique, and within days, they were seeing each other.
But as Max quickly realized, he was no longer someone who got tied down. As soon as Liana wasn’t around, he started flirting with other girls—cheerleaders, mostly—and eventually found himself in a casual, yet thrilling, rotation of hookups. He’d dated and slept with Amanda, Jenna, and even a few girls from rival schools, all while keeping up the pretense of being in a committed relationship with Liana.
The funny thing? They didn’t care. It didn’t matter how many times Max cheated on them—he was Max Hunter, and somehow, that made everything excusable. Each cheerleader, knowing full well about the others, would still smile whenever he showed up to practice, each one thinking she was the one who had his true attention. And Max let them believe it. He was the star of the show, and they were just happy to be along for the ride.
After all, when you looked like he did—when you had the physique, the style, and the swagger—you didn’t need to commit. They all wanted a piece of him, and he was more than happy to oblige.
But as Max looked in the mirror again, something clicked. He wasn’t just Nathan anymore. The person staring back at him—confident, athletic, popular—wasn’t Nathan Parker at all.
He had a new name.
"Max," he whispered, testing the name on his tongue. It felt right. Max Hunter. Strong. Powerful. The kind of guy who everyone knew, and who everyone wanted to know. A jock. The kind of guy who got the girl, the attention, and the respect.
As Max adjusted his letterman jacket and ran his fingers through his perfectly styled hair, he realized something: this wasn’t just a new look. It was a new life.
Maybe, just maybe, this was the person he was always meant to be.

Speech in Acceptance of the National Book Foundation Medal for Distinguished Contribution to American Letters
To the givers of this beautiful reward, my thanks, from the heart. My family, my agents, my editors, know that my being here is their doing as well as my own, and that the beautiful reward is theirs as much as mine. And I rejoice in accepting it for, and sharing it with, all the writers who’ve been excluded from literature for so long — my fellow authors of fantasy and science fiction, writers of the imagination, who for fifty years have watched the beautiful rewards go to the so-called realists.
Hard times are coming, when we’ll be wanting the voices of writers who can see alternatives to how we live now, can see through our fear-stricken society and its obsessive technologies to other ways of being, and even imagine real grounds for hope. We’ll need writers who can remember freedom — poets, visionaries — realists of a larger reality.
Right now, we need writers who know the difference between production of a market commodity and the practice of an art. Developing written material to suit sales strategies in order to maximise corporate profit and advertising revenue is not the same thing as responsible book publishing or authorship.
Yet I see sales departments given control over editorial. I see my own publishers, in a silly panic of ignorance and greed, charging public libraries for an e-book 6 or 7 times more than they charge customers. We just saw a profiteer try to punish a publisher for disobedience, and writers threatened by corporate fatwa. And I see a lot of us, the producers, who write the books and make the books, accepting this — letting commodity profiteers sell us like deodorant, and tell us what to publish, what to write.
Books aren’t just commodities; the profit motive is often in conflict with the aims of art. We live in capitalism, its power seems inescapable — but then, so did the divine right of kings. Any human power can be resisted and changed by human beings. Resistance and change often begin in art. Very often in our art, the art of words.
I’ve had a long career as a writer, and a good one, in good company. Here at the end of it, I don’t want to watch American literature get sold down the river. We who live by writing and publishing want and should demand our fair share of the proceeds; but the name of our beautiful reward isn’t profit. Its name is freedom.
Thank you.

The Real Cost of Being a Woman: Let's Talk About the Pink Tax
I've had it. Absolutely had it. Last weekend, I was shopping for razors and there it was again – that infuriating price difference staring me in the face. The "men's" razor in basic black: $8.99. The virtually identical "women's" razor in pink packaging: $12.99. Four dollars more for what? A splash of pink dye and some flowery marketing?
This, my friends, is the pink tax in action, and it's bleeding us dry.
For those who haven't heard this term before, the pink tax isn't an actual tax – it's the premium we women pay for products marketed specifically to us. From personal care items to clothing, if it's marketed to women, chances are we're paying more for it. And I'm not talking pocket change here.
Let me break down what I've documented from my own shopping experiences:
Deodorant: Women's version costs 30% more than men's
Shampoo: "For her" costs about $2-3 more per bottle
Children's toys: The pink version of the exact same toy? Usually marked up 15%
Dry cleaning: Women's button-down shirts cost almost double what men pay
Personal care products: On average, we pay 13% more for everything from face cream to body wash
The most infuriating part? There's often zero difference in the actual product. We're literally paying more for pink packaging and "feminine" scents like "Sweet Rose Petal Dreams" instead of "MOUNTAIN SURGE" or whatever they're calling the men's version.
Some argue, "Just buy the men's version then!" Sure, I could. Sometimes I do. But that's not the point. Why should we have to navigate this ridiculous pricing maze just to avoid being ripped off? Why are we still accepting this systematic price discrimination in 2024?
Here's what really gets me: this isn't just about razors or shampoo. The pink tax is a symptom of a larger problem – the way society continues to exploit gender for profit. From the time we're little girls getting charged more for pink toys, to adults paying more for basic hygiene products, this unfair pricing follows us through our entire lives.
According to studies, women pay approximately $1,300 more per year for the same basic products as men. Think about that. That's $1,300 we could be investing, saving, or spending on something meaningful instead of padding corporate profits.
So what can we do about it?
Speak up! Share your pink tax findings on social media. Make noise about these unfair pricing practices.
Vote with your wallet. Support companies that practice gender-neutral pricing.
Write to retailers and manufacturers. Let them know we're watching and we're not okay with this.
Educate others. Many people don't even realize this is happening.
Support legislation that addresses gender-based price discrimination.
I'm done staying quiet about this. I'm done accepting that I should pay more "because I'm a woman." And I'm definitely done with the color pink being used as an excuse to empty my wallet.
The next time you're shopping, take a moment to compare prices between gendered products. Document the differences. Share them. Get angry. Because until we all start speaking up about this systematic price discrimination, nothing will change.
It's time to paint this issue in bold strokes – and none of them need to be pink.

Johnson and Johnson's bankruptcy gambit fails
The Third Circuit Court of Appeals has foiled Johnson & Johnson’s plan to use a bankruptcy scam called the Texas Two-Step to escape paying 40,000 women who were injured when the pharma giant sold them asbestos-tainted talcum powder to dust over their vulvas, leading to gruesome cancers:
https://www.wxxinews.org/2023-01-30/appeals-court-clears-the-way-for-more-lawsuits-over-johnsons-baby-powder
If you’d like an essay-formatted version of this post to read or share, here’s a link to it on pluralistic.net, my surveillance-free, ad-free, tracker-free blog:
https://pluralistic.net/2023/02/01/j-and-j-jk/#risible-gambit
Back in 2018, a jury awarded $4.69 billion to 22 women whose ovarian cancer was caused by J&J’s toxic product, $4.14b of which was punitive, awarded because J&J ignored the link between applying talcum powder to one’s genitals and cancer, and continued to market its products as a “Shower to Shower” genital deodorant:
https://www.cnn.com/2018/07/13/health/4-69-billion-verdict-johnson--johnson-talcum-powder/index.html
With thousands more lawsuits in the pipeline, the company sprung into action, restructuring in Texas using a quirk of the state’s merger laws that allows a single company to “merge” into two separate entities.
https://statutes.capitol.texas.gov/Docs/BO/htm/BO.10.htm
The Texas Two-Step is a corrupt gambit that uses this quirk to allow large companies to escape liability for their misdeeds, by creating one company that holds the assets and profitable businesses of the firm, and another company that holds the firm’s toxic products and the liabilities they produced. The “bad” company then declares bankruptcy, leaving the “good” company to walk away with the billions it made by harming people, and leaving the victims to squabble over the meager assets from the bankruptcy.
To maintain the pretense that this maneuver isn’t just a ruse to escape liability, companies undertaking the Texas Two-Step have the “good” company guarantee some of the liabilities of the “bad” company. That’s what J&J did, and the women it injured sued over it:
https://www2.ca3.uscourts.gov/opinarch/222003p.pdf
The appeals court didn’t find J&J’s bankruptcy persuasive. They found that any bankruptcy for the “bad” company should come after it had exhausted all guarantees the “good” company had made. Summarizing the court opinion Bloomberg’s Matt Levine writes, “You want to file for bankruptcy while you still have plenty of money to pay claims, but not too much money.”
https://www.bloomberg.com/opinion/articles/2023-01-31/matt-levine-johnson-johnson-s-jnj-bankruptcy-didn-t-work
J&J has vowed to appeal. If their appeal succeeds, it will be another blow against corporate accountability and against the bankruptcy system, both of which have are at their lowest ebb in living memory. Just the fact that J&J is still in business is remarkable. Poison talcum powder is only the latest salvo in J&J’s war on women’s reproductive organs — just a year ago, the company was ordered to pay hundreds of millions for selling women vaginal meshes, aggressively marketed for incontinence and prolapse, long after it learned that these meshes could permanently fuse with patient’s pelvic floors, leading to “severe pain, bleeding, infections, discomfort during intercourse.”
https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2022/apr/13/johnson-johnson-pelvic-mesh-implant-ads-case
J&J was also neck-deep in the opioid crisis, going to far as to commission a report from McKinsey entitled “Maximizing Value of the Narcotics Franchise,” on how to use its dominance of poppy-extract to corner the market on opioids:
https://pluralistic.net/2022/06/30/mckinsey-mafia/#everybody-must-get-stoned
It was the opioid sector that brought popular attention — and well-earned disgust — to the US bankruptcy. The criminal Sackler family, owners of Purdue Pharma and proprietors of OxyContin, used a nakedly corrupt move to shift their bankruptcy proceeding to Judge Robert Drain of the Southern District of New York:
https://pluralistic.net/2021/08/07/hr-4193/#shoppers-choice
Drain is notoriously tolerant of corporate crime and is an enthusiastic booster for the principle of using bankruptcies to escape consequences for corporate mass-murder. Which is exactly what the Sacklers did, cramming through a bankruptcy deal that let them walk away with billions, stiffing the survivors of their opioid business:
https://pluralistic.net/2021/07/29/impunity-corrodes/#morally-bankrupt
J&J told women to put carcinogens down their underwear. For decades. It gave tens of thousands of women ovarian cancer. Then it tried to use Texas’s courts to walk away with billions. But this time, a court stopped them. This time there’s no separate system of justice, like the one that gave the Sacklers billions in dirty money. This time, the company might just have to pay for its crimes.

Ok so for the scents, I know that for odesta everyone says Finnick chooses sea but I'm gonna say he smells like cinnamon. Idk he just gives the vibes. Sea is like his natural (and I don't mean the one that those candles and perfumes smell like), but his signature scent is cinnamon
Annie, while she was still in school, non stop had swimming practice so she kinda smelled like chlorine. I would say she also has that cinnamon scent, but she gives more berries vibes.
Peeta smells like a bakery obvi. And when you get close he smells kinda like yeast. But for what he'd choose, it would be something not sharp and cold but warm and sensual. I just don't know what.
Haymitch, also obviously, smells like alcohol. But he has one of those experiencive odecolons (idk of its spelled like that).
Katniss smells like a rainforest and uses men's shower gels and deodorants (girlie on fire smells like a volcano)
Effie has a HUUUGE collection of perfumes. Always a new one.
Johanna is the type to get a package of deodorant shampoo shower gel and perfume and lotion from one scent of perfume and get a new one when they end. I have no idea how to explain her smell, bit I think average sharp womens deodorant works
thank you for sharing your thoughts!! i really love hearing other people's insights on this. i love them all
i really like finnick having cinnamon as his signature scent. i like to think that it started slowly, with him finding a naturally scented cinnamon shampoo at the market and being so pleased with it. then, running into mags, who signals to him that he smells nice, and she ends up gifting him all the soaps and candles she had stored unused in her house.
also, annie smelling like berries? yes!! i totally get the same vibe. in another post, someone said that effie would smell like strawberries, and i think they both would, but in different ways. annie has a faint scent that kind of lingers when she passes by, the kind of scent that leaves you humming contentedly. on the other hand, effie's fragance is so strong and overpowering that it sometimes intoxicates those she passes by.
but i also agree with effie having a huge collection of perfumes. she would have a different one for each of her outfits: citrus for the butterfly dress, bubblegum for the pink puffy short dress.
everyone likes hanging out around peeta because he smells so nice! (also because he is so nice to be around). no matter how much perfume he puts on, he ends up smelling like the pastries baked that day. maybe it's a bit basic, or it's because he's a baker, but i can picture peeta choosing a coffee scent. it's warm and sensual, and i think it fits him.
katniss loves hugging peeta and burying her face in his neck. she describes it as the same smell as entering a comforting bakery. peeta ends up loving the scent of the body wash that katniss uses. since they are nature-scented, peeta likes to imagine being in the mountains whenever her smell catches his nose.
also, i really agree with you on haymitch and johanna. i don't have much to add, but it definitely feels like her to not have a signature scent and just go through all the basic deodorants.
#it felt weird to write smell so many times lol#but thank you for your thougths!! i really liked reading them#thg#the hunger games#peeta mellark#katniss everdeen#finnick odair#annie cresta#haymitch abernathy#effie trinket#johanna mason

Hey I don’t know if this is really a big issue among trans guys but I constantly find myself questioning my identity due to the fact I can’t find any clothing or looks on men that I like. This with the fact I’m a poc makes it like weird to look for clothing styles I enjoy. Like I keep going “am I really a man if I prefer feminine clothing? Am I just lying? Should I stay feminine?” So long story short I was wondering if theirs any like styles that look good really on men or tips for when your not feeling masculine? Or just tips on feeling more masculine pre transition in general?
Thank you for your ask, anon.
I myself am pre-transition, medically speaking. I don't necessarily do much in the means of "passing" for reasons I don't feel the need to share. My opinion may not be as valid to some of you because of this, but I'll share things that my male friends do that I've observed.
My major piece of advice in terms of clothing is don't go rushing to the men's section of a store and pick up all the large, body-covering garments you can find. Playing to your body type is important, and you should probably aim to go for a size down of what you initially assume you want in men's sizes.
Brands I usually go for are general sports brands like Nike, Adidas, Reebok etc, as well as second-hand SuperDry and H&M. (Also, if you buy something and it's too big, throw it in the wash and dryer several times.)
Dark tones are traditionally masculine as well if you want to stay safe, however there are a lot of men who wear light tones, it just depends on the style.
Layering also works in my case, but it's only helpful in winter. I find when I wear a coat over a hoodie over a t-shirt, I tend to pass a lot better. (Puffer jackets are really good for emulating this, especially North Face or similar dupes.)
Also, if you wear glasses, order some more boxy-looking prescription glasses with darker or more muted frames. These generally appear more masculine at first glance, but you can ask an optician or your friend for an opinion of what looks more masc on your face. Spend a lot of tine on this, because you obviously wear your glasses more often than certain outfits.
I'd also say that it depends on the "type" of guy you're looking to present as. I have a lanky build with longer legs, so I wear straight-legged jeans to only discreetly hide curves.
Overall, it just takes a bit of experimentation. This post may not be that helpful to everyone, because I'm using my own life as an anecdote, so I apologise in advance. There is no right way to pass, and a few people warp the meaning of passing to looking more western-centric, however I've learned that this is poor advice.
As for feeling more masculine, you could:
Buy male deodorant, shower gel or aftershave and shave with a razor marketed towards men
Buy male underwear and pajamas
Try skin-tone coloured transtape (if you can find it, it's a horror to find dark brown trans tape)
Work out every day (don't rush into this, and consistency is key)
Experiment with masculine hairstyles.
If any of you would like a separate post with specific resources for any of these, or my own personal recommendations for products and clothing, I'd be happy to share.
Sidenote: passing ≠ feeling masculine. You're doing this for yourself, not for others.

I saw a "quote" from Ursula K. Le Guin's speech at the National Book Awards in 2014. It claims that she "rails" against Amazon, and says, "Your empire will fall".
In fact, it is a passionate speech that makes its point eloquently. It's probably not to current tastes for vigorous outrage, which is why it's partly quoted for maximum effect. Here is the speech in its entirety.

Inside the gold box is...
...a male grooming kit. From VoxTek.
It's got shavers (with spare razor blades), shaving cream, shampoos, conditioners, shower gels, deodorants, soap bars, hand wash, lotions, suncream, sunglasses, a sunhat, a beach towel with a picture of Valentino in a mankini, toothbrushes, toothpaste, nail clippers, and a couple of washcloths with the Triple V monogram. Quite a lot is stuffed into that box.
The accompanying brochure shares some marketing spiel:
"Many men desire to look good for their special lady. Or gentleman. Or non-binary joyfriend. That's why we at VoxTek have cultived this extra-special summer care package!
It's our little way of saying thank you for being a loyal customer/employee/target practice for Valentino [delete as applicable]. As the hot summer months roll in for those in the northern hemisphere, we want to make your stay in Hell just that little bit sunnier!
VoxTek! Trust us with your body!"
The smaller text at the bottom reads, "Additional blades, lotions, and Valentino mankini towels sold separately. VoxTek cannot and will not be held responsible for any cuts, bruises, burns, loss of limb, dry skin, rashes, rotting teeth, stomach cramps, chickenpox, decapitations, relationship breakdown, or hilariously bad hairstyles that may occur while using VoxTek products."
There's a bonus present at the bottom too - a stuffed toy deer that's covered in red paint and has loads of pins sticking into it. The tag reads,
"Angel.
Give this to Alastor. Tell him he smells like an elephant's butt.
Vox.
P.S. Val says I'm hotter than you."
Upon finding the grooming paraphernalia within, Angel was pleasantly surprised. He had half expected this to be some kind of prank, orchestrated by someone who wanted to take him down a peg or two. Of course, curiosity still outweighed the potential risk - as always. And this time, it appeared to have paid off.
Raking through the items, he unfurled the towel and was met with the image of his bikini'd boss posing seductively - and promptly rolled it back up. Yeah, Niffty could have that one for cleaning rags. Or maybe Cherri would come over and burn it with him. It would be equally fun to see the moth cut to pieces and dunked in bleach as it would be to see him burnt to cinders.
As for the... other gift. There was no way Angel was giving that to Alastor. He was 99% sure it contained some kind of camera or microphone, but he wasn't about to start squeezing the pin-laden plush to find out.
He rolled his eyes at the final message. There was no doubt in his mind that no such words had been spoken, and Vox simply wanted to use this gift as an opportunity throw shade at Angel and Alastor - his two most detested hotel residents!
Who he went to the bother of sending gifts to.
What a freak.

༘˚⋆𐙚。⋆𖦹.✧˚"Beauty Product Manufacturers and Eco-Friendly Cosmetics”༘˚⋆𐙚。⋆𖦹.✧˚
Hi beautes! 👋🏻 🎀. I want to share one of my opinions and research from what I found that Beauty Product Manufacturers and Eco-Friendly Cosmetics” are really important. Skin irritation and allergic responses are less common with natural and oleochemical substances. Sustainable products are made from naturally occurring substances that humans have been utilizing for centuries: plants and animals. These ingredients have therapeutic qualities and are free of synthetic, poisonous chemicals and artificial colors. Take glycerine, an organic byproduct of palm oil. Cosmetics, medications, and soaps all employ the clear, non-toxic liquid. Glycerine retains moisture well since it is a humectant, which makes it a great moisturizer. By enhancing the body's hygroscopic properties, glycerine helps the skin to absorb and retain water. It can be put anywhere on the body because it doesn't cause irritation. It works well as an anti-aging component.
Because The average Asian or American is thought to use 100 kilos of plastic every year, with over half of the plastic generated going toward single-use disposable products. Typical suppliers of environmentally friendly cosmetics include: Natural oils, including avocado, coconut, and olive oils. Plants used in agriculture, such soybeans and corn. Environmentally friendly formulas are the foundation of eco-friendly cosmetics, which are then produced and packaged using eco-friendly procedures. Ingredients that are made from natural substances are used in the creation of these "green," sustainable cosmetics. Eco-friendly beauty products can be an excellent choice for people with sensitive skin since, in addition to being good for the environment, they are typically made of natural and organic ingredients.
Additionally, harsh chemicals are likely to be absent from eco-friendly cosmetics, which lowers your chance of skin damage and flare-ups. Harsh chemicals are also probably not included in eco-friendly cosmetics, which lowers our chance of skin damage and flare-ups. Consumers nowadays are more concerned with social and environmental responsibilities and have a developing global consciousness. The softer environmental impact of sustainable products is one of their key advantages. There are new reports every week about massive garbage floating in the water or risky carbon outputs. Conventional cosmetics include several dangerous substances called petrochemicals that harm both our bodies and the environment. Customers seek organic, low-polluting items as we grow more conscious of the environment. How are we gonna make the world change? so here’s the tip that you should know:
1. Recognizing Ecological Natural beauty
The following are a few of the most well-known, eco-friendly, sustainable cosmetic brands and their offerings: Native:
-Native uses natural, organic components to make its deodorants. Native's brand is based on "easy-to-understand, nontoxic ingredients." Herbs like castor bean oil, coconut oil, and shea butter are generated from oleochemicals.
-Burt's Bees: From modest beeswax candles to a massive empire of lip products, Burt's Bees has emerged as a global pioneer in sustainability. The company uses natural and organic components in its cosmetics and personal care products, and it follows a "no-waste" manufacturing philosophy. They use beeswax, herbs, and botanical oils to create their well-known goods.
- Blissoma: Specializing in skincare, Blissoma provides a vast selection of green skincare products divided by skin type and need. Their preservative-free cosmetics use natural components such as fruit enzymes, Vitamin C, organic herbs, and cereals.
The job Manufacturers of cosmetics have a rare chance to emphasize corporate responsibility by focusing on green cosmetics. Going above and beyond with sustainable sourcing or packaging can have a big influence, in addition to the good effects green marketing can have on a company's image. A business assumes responsibility for its effects on economies and world health when it ramps up its sustainability initiatives. A company can earn authority and respect from suppliers, customers, and other distribution chain participants by assuming corporate responsibility for its manufacturing.
2. The Effect of Modern Beauty Products on the Environment
The Intensity of Resources and Waste Production: - Sourcing of Ingredients: Resource-intensive procedures are a major part of the manufacturing of traditional cosmetics. One such component that contributes to habitat loss and deforestation is palm oil, which is widely used in cosmetics.Packaging Waste: Take into consideration the chic plastic cases that hold your go-to lipstick or moisturizer. A major contributing factor to the worldwide plastic pollution problem is that these containers frequently wind up in landfills or the ocean.
Toxic ingredients included in many traditional cosmetic products, including parabens, phthalates, and formaldehyde-releasing preservatives, contribute to chemical pollution and water contamination. In addition to endangering human health, these pollutants contaminate rivers. Ecosystems that are aquatic are impacted by the chemicals we rinse out of our hair or wash off our makeup, which ends up in rivers and oceans. - Tiny plastics: Small plastic particles called microplastics are present in toothpaste, exfoliating scrubs, and some shampoos. These particles are non-biodegradable. Microplastics can harm marine life and possibly make their way into our food chain when they amass in water bodies. Part 3: Greenhouse Gases and Climate Change - Distribution and Transportation: Cosmetics are produced all over the world and distributed extensively. Storage of some goods (such serums) in a refrigerator also adds to the energy usage.
For example: Parabens. - Toxic Substance: Preservatives including methylparaben, ethylparaben, and propylparaben are frequently found in skincare and makeup products. On the other hand, they may increase the risk of breast cancer and cause hormone imbalance. - Alternative: Look for natural preservatives like vitamin E, rosemary oil, or grapefruit seed extract, or choose items that are labeled "paraben-free".
3. Producing Your Own Eco-Friendly Items
Do-it-yourself Beauty Recipes: - For a calming and purifying effect, mix oatmeal, honey, and chamomile tea to make a mild face cleanser. For a luscious and nourishing treat, combine shea and cocoa butter with your preferred essential oils to create a moisturizing body butter. Shake some lemon or orange peels into some apple cider vinegar to create a revitalizing and pleasant citrus hair rinse. Sustainable Packaging Options: To cut down on plastic waste, put your homemade beauty products in reusable glass jars or metal tins. Take into consideration giving empty containers from completed commercial cosmetic items a new lease on life.
Be healthy always, love 🎀🪞🩰🦢🕯️

My Personal Self Care Guide
this isn't what I normally post about, but I'm feeling motivated and inspired so I thought I would share my self care tips, tricks, and products
note: this is not a comprehensive, one size fits all thing. some of these may work for you and others may not. none of this is meant in bad faith
feel free to add to this btw
Belief System
the first and foremost thing is to find compassion for yourself and your body. you deserve to care for yourself, full stop, no exceptions, no excuses. you deserve it
second, don't shame others for how they take care of themselves. it will probably look different from you and that is okay and normal. you're not better than someone else because you're different, you're just humans
third, do not try too hard. do not give in to the myth of consumerism. you don't need a million different products to be beautiful and feel good about yourself. you do not need to make yourself into something palatable and marketable, and in fact doing so is harmful and very much not self care
These are the three tenets of self care. Use them liberally and wisely
Tips and Tricks
hydration is key. you need hydration so much and you probably don't even realize it. I personally get most of my hydration from (unsweetened) tea both hot and iced. the tap water isn't super clean where I live so boiling the water is more hydrating and it removes anything bad that might fuck with me. I suggest doing the same even if you're not in the same situation. also it gives a much more natural caffeine boost than coffee does
acne is a natural part of being human. prevention methods include washing your face at least once a day, changing your bedding frequently, and avoiding touching your face. when breakouts happen don't mess with it or pop it, that can lead to infection and scarring. instead try pimple patches or bandaids with acne medication on them
choose a signature scent and coordinate your products with it. I personally made mine roses with an undertone of eucalyptus and sandalwood, but it doesn't need to be that complex. doing this makes the scent much more noticeable which makes you more memorable
if you don't have textured hair (I am white so I don't have many tips for poc, very sorry), wash and condition it every other day (on average). also using heat protection spray on wet hair can help prevent frizz
Skincare and Products
the best rule of thumb I have is "the simpler the better"
you literally need a total of six products minimum and ten maximum and all of them you can find either at a local drugstore or supermarket
for hair care I just use suave brand. it's like three dollars and as far as I know doesn't have a lot of the harmful stuff more expensive hair products will have. again this does mostly apply to non black hair, deeply sorry but I'm just not qualified to speak on it
do not use exfoliating products on your face. scrubs, charcoal strips, etc. they are all going to cause you more breakouts so you'll buy more products. same goes for fancy lip balms. look for stuff that's meant for sensitive skin and is unscented
body wash is important but what kind you get doesn't really matter. I get rose scented cuz of my signature scent thing but in the end as long as it gets you clean it's cool
deodorant. in this case the natural kind probably won't cut it. just get something with a scent you like, but avoid brands like old spice because the heavy scents can cause chemical burns. I personally use dove men's brand in a solid stick, but it's truly up to preference. also shaving is in no way necessary for anyone but I've found shaving my pits makes me sweat and smell less
exfoliate in the shower if you feel like it. I personally use Dr. Teals epsom salt products because they're cheap, reliable, and they smell good (they have lavender and eucalyptus, I prefer the latter). make an epsom salt bath for relaxation and pain relief, use the salt scrub for exfoliating and pain relief, and/or use the body oils for moisture. a lot of these things are very texture so be sure to find what works best for you
moisturizing! you can never go wrong with plain Vaseline. it's safe to use pretty much everywhere and is super effective. it's my holy grail and a big tub is like five bucks. I also use it as facial moisturizer, though I go out of my way to get their rose lip care (they also have cocoa butter)
I already talked about heat spray for hair but that's another one of the optional products
Recap: the only things you really need are shampoo, conditioner, face wash, body wash, deodorant, and vaseline for moisture. Optional products include scents (perfume, cologne, body spray), heat spray for hair, exfoliating scrubs/epsom salts, and specialized lip care
Conclusions
do what works for you
don't buy in to capitalism and consumer culture
be kind to yourself and your body
create a signature scent
the simpler the better
support others in their self care journeys
That's all from me, have a lovely day 🌹

Essential Care Tips for Your Patola Saree - a masterpiece of your ward – Virasat Patola
A patola silk saree is a lightweight, soft fabric that is primarily crafted from silk with a weaving technique. Having a symbol of cultural traditions in your wardrobe is not just a piece of clothing; it's about carrying a piece of the royal image. Ensuring your Rajkoti Patola saree remains a bright masterpiece in your wardrobe for years to come requires understanding the nature of the fabric. Are you worried about how to care for such an elegant piece? Here is a guide for you to use.
Basics of Patola Silk Saree Cleaning
However, no matter how wide your collection of Patola sarees is, taking care of them is important to preserve the beauty and longevity of your Patola saree. Thus, we are here to help you with a few essential Patola saree care tips.
Understand the nature of the fabric
Patola sarees are generally made from silk with the double and single Ikat technique, a detailed and luxurious weaving material. When you understand the nature of silk, it becomes easier to take care of your lustrous charm.
Avoid machine-washing silk fabric; it may lose its shine.
Take care not to expose the Patola saree to direct sunlight. Direct sunlight can cause the Patola silk saree to fade and become discolored over time.
Precautions before wearing
When wearing your silk saree, always clean your hands with hand wash and avoid using any lotions or oils that could damage the blend of the material.
Do not wear heavy jewelry and bangles that can snag or tear the delicate double Ikat threads.
Store them well
It is important to store your Patola ethnic saree properly if you want to enjoy the chicness and shine of this fabric for a long period.
Hanging the Rajkoti Patola silk will increase the chances of wrinkling; instead, you can keep the saree wrapped in soft muslin cloth.
You can layer newspaper between the folds of your saree to reduce wrinkling.
Cleaning technique
Stop cleaning stains immediately using washing soaps or harsh detergent powder; instead, use soft detergent powder. Avoid rubbing with a brush, as this can damage the hand-weaving of the material.
For more extensive cleaning, it's recommended to hand wash with shampoo your Patola saree to ensure the softness of the silk material.
Air-drying
Ensure to avoid drying perils by hanging or laying the Patola saree out to air dry it.
Furthermore, you should avoid hanging your favorite Patola saree in direct sunlight. Dry your patola in a shared area and place it on a flat surface. Since the Ikat material is lightweight and extremely delicate, hanging it can cause permanent creases.
Iron carefully
Ironing requires special attention and care, damaging the delicate Patola threads.
Select a special mode for silk in iron while ironing the Patola silk saree.
Do not press too much when ironing; this can damage the intricate patterns of this luxurious ethnic wear.
Handling with care
Avoid excessive pins to settle down your saree; it can damage the borders.
Avoid spraying perfumes, deodorants, or any other fragrances directly on your royal ethnic elegance; it can leave stains on the contact surface.
How do you restore the lost shine of the Patola Silk Saree?
Whether you wash the Patola saree at home or wash it outside, after a while, its luster diminishes a little. Sometimes there are chances of a complete loss of shine. You can maintain the shine of this heritage saree with small household efforts.
Pour some vinegar into a bucket of lukewarm water and soak your pure silk for 2 or 3 minutes. With the liquid made this way, you can maintain the luster of the Patola silk saree. Instead of this, you can also use ready-made dilute solutions available on the market.
Take care enough to dry this wet saree without exposing it to direct sunlight. Hang your elegant ethnic piece in a shady place to dry. Avoid using a machine dryer to dry your Patola silk saree. The excess heat can damage weaving threads.
How do you remove food stains from your silk saree?
There is nothing more elegant than wearing a cultural and traditional saree to a ceremony or function. Apart from all of this, we sometimes become careless. What should we do if someone calls us while eating at a wedding and spoils the saree due to neglecting our attention, paying attention to someone, or any other reason? Can this saree never be worn again? But pause; there is a solution for you.
Wet the stained part of the Patola saree slightly and apply a thick layer of toothpaste to it. Allow to dry the toothpaste area. After drying that part, wash it off with simple, plain water and see the magic happen. If, after this process, the stain is still visible, then repeat the process.
How do you remove lipstick stains from your Patola silk saree?
Which woman likes to wear a saree without makeup? Makeup gives confidence to a woman, so it is impossible to see any woman in ethnic clothes without makeup. But what if this same makeup causes your expensive Patola saree to deteriorate? What should you do if your hands get stuck while applying lipstick by mistake? Here is a handy tip to revive your Rajkoti Patola saree from lipstick stains.
Place the stain area on a flat surface and use wet tissue paper. Try to press the wet tissue paper on the stained area.
If pressing the paper does not transfer the lipstick from the saree to the paper, rub the paper gently. Take special care that the paper stays on the affected part only.
Conclusion
So, these are a few tips to help you take care of your Patola silk saree without any worry. However, check the label of the silk saree when you unbox your Rajkoti Patola saree for the first time and remember the instructions, then go for it. With these essential care tips, you can ensure that your masterpiece stays just as beautiful for generations to come.

The e-commerce space for furniture & upholstery has seen a steady rise due to the ease of viewing products and availability. This was further bolstered by the Covid-19 pandemic as stay-at-home culture and social distancing became common norms. This led to an increase in sales of furniture and upholstery online. According to India Brand Equity Foundation (IBEF), the online retail market in India is estimated to reach 37% of the total retail market by 2030, the furniture eCommerce market revenue will reach $252 billion in 2023. Along with that, an increased interest in eco-friendly furniture and flexible workspaces have garnered more investment in the industry. Hence, this is a key driving factor for the acrylic fiber market within the forecast period of 2024–2030.
Acrylic Fiber Market Challenges
Availability of substitutes for acrylic fibers:
Acrylic fiber is one of many different types of synthetic fiber used in the market. As such, there is a wide variety of substitutes for the material. For instance, some of the commonly used synthetic fibers are polyester, polyamide, and polypropylene. Polyester fibers are the most widely used synthetic fiber in the world, primarily due to its durability, lightweight form factor, and strong fastness to dyes. According to Textile Exchange, polyester fibers hold the largest share in the synthetic fiber space, with a market share of 60% in 2023. As such, the biggest challenge for the acrylic fiber market is the availability of substitutes for acrylic fiber during the forecast period of 2024 to 2030.

Please Read - Urgent Appeal ❗️
So far, we’ve raised $431 for Week 7, but we need $2500 to support four families in Deir al Balah, Nuseirat, and Bureij. With high fees to cash their own money, this goal will bring the largest family closer to providing just $5 per person per day!
Expensive personal hygiene products are slowly being brought in by merchants, showing up in the markets scarce and at high prices—a necessity amid ongoing crises. $625 for each family will help them afford basic necessities like food, water, hygiene items, and medicines. Our friend and his family of 15 also need to provide for their 2-month-old baby. With exorbitant prices and meager GoFundMe support, your help is crucial as the families quickly deplete their funds!
Donate the cost of one parcel, four parcels (signifying one for each family), or the total to help reach our goal for survival funds! Your donations make an immediate impact for four families. Go to hopp.bio/palfunds to donate now. All families have been vetted by @mnfams4palestine and additional groups—including Project Watermelon, Operation Olive Branch, and Humanity for G*za!
Please share here and on Instagram! Our posts are being suppressed, and we need your help to spread the word. Direct sharing on Tumblr, Instagram, and beyond with the link makes a significant difference in meeting the goal for the families!
When donating: Please do NOT mention Pal-estine, Pal-estinians, Ga-za, Ga-zans, 🇵🇸 flag emojis, 🍉 watermelon emojis, fund-raiser, or anything else that is related in the notes when donating!
