Morgan had finally placed the last container of food into the back seats of your car, before shutting the door and getting into the car with you.

You shot her a quick “ready?” Before you started the car as a way of making sure she had everything but also just to check on her, you knew morgan was a bit nervous about meeting your family ever since the concept of her coming home with you for thanksgiving became a thing.

“Very!” she said giving you a soft smile, the same one that made you fall in love with her in the first place. It never failed to make your heart throb, washing away any worries of her nervousness about your family.

The drive was only an hour long since you grew up in Connecticut, But only about 30 minutes into the drive you noticed Morgans leg bouncing.

Looking over at her for a split second the look of nervousness flooded her face, her eyes were staring straight out at the road in front of us consumed in her thoughts.

“You okay baby?” You said moving your hand to rest on her thigh, her leg bouncing stopping momentarily.

You could feel her staring at the side of your face while you drove before she said, “just kind of nervous” she said letting out a nervous laugh.

“Well trust me they’re going to love you” you said now lightly rubbing small circles on her thigh.

She smiled her face becoming more at ease before putting her hand on yours.

After what seemed like a short 30 minutes of driving you pulled into the driveway of your childhood home.

A cozy yet small home with a sleek new porch just built in a year or so prior.

Morgan got out of the car first grabbing our food we had brought carrying it in one hand, catching up with you to hold your hand like a child clinging to her mother after she strays too far.

The door was opened by your mother and the smell of incense and food inside. You pulled your mother into a hug while morgan waited to say hello.

“Oh well you must be Morgan!” Pulling morgan into a hug immediately taking morgan by surprise.

“Oh well my little girl has told me so much about you over the phone!” She said before letting go of her.

A huge smile played across Morgans face “Im so excited to finally meet you” she said out of pure happiness.

“Well come inside you’re going to freeze, Its so amazing to see you!” your mom said pulling her inside.

“Wow what about me mom?” You said in a sarcastic tone walking behind them.

You could tell morgan was already feeling better about meeting your family.

As you walked into the house you saw your dad and older brother sitting watching football in the living room.

“F/N Your daughter and her girlfriend are here!” Your mom said.

Morgans face had that nervous look again as she inched closed to you as your dad got up to come say hello.

“Hi there sweetheart, Hows college treating you?” He said pulling you into a hug, Your father was always accepting of whatever you did. He was one of the most important people in your life. So finally being able to see him after months was refreshing.

“And you are Morgan right?” He said staring at morgan.

“Yes sir” she said with a tinge of nervousness in her voice.

Your father then shook hands with her “nice to meet you Morgan.” He said smiling before going to sit back down.

You look over at her smiling seeing the relief on her face before you lightly squeezed her arm.

Sidetracked you lead her to the living room “Oh! and this is B/N, He plays football for UMiami so he’s here for the next week or so.”

Your brother gives Morgan a smile and a small wave before returning back to the TV, he was usually a shy person to most.

You, Morgan, And your mom Cooked and talked about school and Morgans basketball career at UConn for about an hour before your mom went to set the table.

As your mom went off you and morgan were left alone in the kitchen.

“See they all love you Morgan” you smiled facing her.

Her hand snaked into yours “I guess they do don’t they” she said smiling brightly.

“Who couldn’t love you Morgan?” You said giggling like a kid as you kissed her before you guys went off to join your family for thanksgiving dinner.

Not feeling well again tonight. I was in so much pain after being on the boat today. I must have turned gray and sickly too because my supervisor was incredibly worried about my health.

I hate talking about this and I hate bringing it up to my supervisors. I've been dismissed before from opportunities because of the pain and received bad performance reviews simply because I don't "take initiative" (In too much pain to do extra).

She's letting me have the day off tomorrow. I'm grateful, but I feel like I'm falling behind my peers. I see friends and acquaintances going on with their lives and I just feel... stuck.

I got accepted into an amazing master's program from UMiami but I deferred because I feel too sick. It's not just the pain, it's the feathers at the edge of my vision and the weird spasms as well. Even if I managed to land a job with good healthcare or my dream grad school, how am I going to keep it if I'm sick and in pain all the time?

There's something bigger going on here and I want to know what. But ever since this all happened I seem to have lost my trust in human doctors and managed to convince myself that I'm a hypochondriac.
