I'm so glad you're doing well!
Could I perhaps ask for Damon and his darling nerd? Maybe something really good happens to her that she's excited about and when she tells Damon about it, she hugs him without thinking because of how happy she is. I'd imagine him getting drunk off of the physical contact and just wanting more
Yandere! Jock x Honor student! fem! reader everyday tidbits: achievements
Tumblr media
Damon was nervous.
He's rarely nervous.
And, the fact that he's nervous for another person is weirder.
But, at least he's nervous for you. That made it more excusable as he watched you from afar on the bleachers, biting his nail while praying to whoever God that still didn't give up on him.
Sweat riddling down his temple, he watched as you raised your whiteboard with the words "300 to 3,000 Mega Hertz". Your eyes focused on the screen projector up above the University stage, with the question reading "What range of frequencies are usually referred to as the Ultra High Frequency (UHF) Band?"
It was your University's Intramurals week, with today being the Academic night. You were assigned to be the representative of your college's individual science quiz bowl, and that meant that Damon didn't get to have that much tutoring off of you.
Other than being pissed that you just had to join the quiz bowl, he felt somehow proud. You, the academic genius, the introverted yet blunt student of the Education department, is in a competition in front of such a huge crowd like this? It was unbelievable.
And yet, his unfounded jealousy trickled down his spine when the people cheered for you once the proctor beside you raised the green flag, signaling you got the right answer.
He may be cheering for you, but others are too. Just thinking about how other people can see your brilliance other than him was boiling his blood under his skin.
"One more round..." He whispered, gripping his fist. "Just one more, and she's for my eyes, and my eyes only once again."
His muttering scared his friend beside him, not used to seeing Damon so... ??? What is Damon's face projecting? He doesn't know. It was foreign to him.
Damon's heart jumped once he realized it was the last round. This is it.
The projector flashed once more, with the last item of the hard round. If you got this, then you'll be the champion of the individual science quiz bowl. If not...
"Which prefix is often used with scientific terms to indicate that something is the same, equal or constant?"
Hmm? Why did language studies came here?
Anxiety riddled his body for you.
What is it?
Whispers got out on the surrounding stadium and from the bleachers, wondering what the answers are. Some students are trying to mouth the answers to their representatives, but to no avail.
He found himself clasping his hands together, eyes wide as he leaned forward and bit his tongue.
"Come on, y/n... You know this... Wait? Do you? Whatever...." He whispered under his breath, watching you turn the gears click and clack on your pretty head.
Then, your hand started to move on the whiteboard you're holding.
As the timer ran out, you put your marker down with a shaky breath and an unsure frown, making your college groan in defeat.
Damon almost lunged at them. How dare they? How can they not believe in you, sighing in defeat-- do they not know it affects your morals too?
As murder plays on his mind, the projector flashed, showing the answer.
"iso"
His breath hitched, watching you put up your whiteboard marker.
iso
"OH MY GOD!"
"YES!"
"LET'S GOOOO!!"
"LET'S GO EDUCATORS LET'S GO!"
As the College cheer and the defeaning beat of the drums wafted from the bleachers, your eyes widened in delight, covering your mouth from disbelief. You actually got that right?!
Damon was suddenly buzzing with energy. His eyes wide, mouth a small "o". He stood up, and as if time stood in a slowmo, he vaulted over seats, and down from the bleachers. Ignoring the shot of pain on his feet, he ran through the barriers and ran past shocked people.
But before he could scoop you up in a hug, your eyes found his and with a huge grin, you ran to him and embraced him first.
Your soft body on his hard one, your arms giddily wrapped around his neck, your head buried on his shoulder.
He froze, not knowing what to do.
"I-I did it! Damon I did it!" You giddily whispered. Your voice, usually laced with shyness and a bit of ridicule, was full of elation and happiness. You felt so light, free from the pressure that you were placing on yourself. Tears of happiness trickled down your cheeks.
Damon trembled. His senses were overwhelmed with yours. Your scent, your body, your warmth... It was too much.
His arms shakily wound around you, gripping you tightly as his nose buried on your neck, inhaling your scent and calming down.
He can't be too worked up. After all, he's in front of countless people.
He reluctantly let go of you, wiping your tears away from your cheeks.
"I'm so proud of you, y/n." He whispered, eyes filled with so much affection that even your blindness to his advances got shunned away for a bit, making your heart race.
"Thank you, Damon..."
Meanwhile, everyone at your college were shocked, and other students let out high pitched coo's and aw's, thinking that you and Damon are together.
"What the fuck? Damon?" His friend was bewildered. Sure, he knew that Damon had the hots for you. But this?
It was too cheesy for him. Blegh.
Sure, maybe Damon took advantage of the crowd, vaulting over people to hug you and make it seem that both of you are dating. Will he deny it? Nah. Maybe even vaguely insinuating and egging these people to believe more.
At the very least, with him being your "boyfriend" nobody will try to snatch you away from him now that people saw your brilliance.
And as he buried his face on hair once more and spun you around happily, he knew the next few days and weeks will be one hell of a ride.

Wattpad Transfer. "Final Fight" Pete Mitchell [Top Gun: Maverick] x Reader
Warnings: Swearing
Additional information: No use of Y/N. Fallout is your callsign. This is if you were in Rooster's place during the final fight scene of Top Gun Maverick
Requested by: N/A
Tumblr media
"Maverick you can't be serious. This is a taxiway, which has debris on it." You pointed out the smoke-covered taxiway, looking around. You were in a plane you thought you'd never be in again. You realized the wings were going out. "Mav? Did you make the wings go out?" You asked, pressing your face against the window.
He ignored your questions, and accelerated forward. "Shit, shit!" You exclaimed, as you both lifted off the ground, losing the front landing gear. "We're off the ground, Fallout. We should be fine. We just need to get home."
"You know how risky it is to try and land without a gear?"
"We'll get to that later."
A few minutes pass, and he asks, "Try and get the radio on. Get in touch with home base." You looked around. "Mav, I'm not a backseater or anything of the sort. What makes you think I can find it out of all these switches?" You asked. "There isn't even a radio back here. No radar, that I can see."
"Alright. The radio. Throw the, uh. The uhf-2 circuit breaker. Try that." You looked around at all the switches. "There's like 300 back here."
"Don't know. That was your brother's department." You nodded. "Yeah. I'll see what I can do." You glanced outside, wanting to tell Maverick something. Until..."Mav, two planes coming in, 5:00 low. " They were coming in from behind you both.
"What do you think they want?" "Put your mask on," he replied. "Just relax. If they knew who we were, we'd be dead already."
They leveled out to your altitude. "Here they come," you muttered, attaching your mask. "Wave and smile."
So that's what you both did. The pilot started doing hand signals. "What does that mean, Mav?"
Maverick was doing hand signs back. "No idea. None of them look familiar."
Soon, the enemy moved to the side, and the other plane behind us. "Shit, he's moving into weapons envelope. Alright, when I tell you, grab those rings above your head. Those are the ejection handles."
"No, I'm not leaving." You said, looking at the handles. "Can't we just outrun the guys? I mean, out fly?"
"Not their missiles and guns."
"Then give them hell."
"An F-14 against fifth-gen fighters?"
"Remember what Rooster told you. It's not the plane. It's the pilot." Maverick stayed silent. "If I wasn't here, you'd go right after them."
You can hear the nervousness in his voice. "But you are here." He replied softly. "Don't worry about me. Don't think, just do." He takes a few breaths, thinking for a moment.
Before he quickly turned the plane clockwise. "Holy shit!" He maneuvered himself behind one of the two planes and shot it down. The other one followed behind us.
"Tell me when you see smoke in the air!" You turn yourself around and look at the plane behind you guys. You watched as the plane dropped a missile. "Smoke in the air! Coming in hot!" You exclaimed. "Hold on!" He said back. He turned the plane and moved behind the falling plane, the missle exploding into it.
"Splash one!" You call out. The other plane flew through the smoke. "We aren't out of the woods yet." The other aircraft turned onto its wing and shot another missle. "Another one coming in!" Maverick pulls the plane up, calling, "Fallout, hit the flares! Now, now, now!" You quickly hit the flare button, and the flares pop out behind the plane, the missile exploding within the flares.
"Splitting the throttles," Mav announced, the plane falling slightly as a gear sound is made. "Coming around." You guys managed to get behind the plane. "Give me tone, give me tone." The target lock beeped, and Maverick shot a missile at the plane.
The plane had done a sick maneuver to dodge the missile. "What the fuck?" You exclaimed as you guys flew past. "Hold on, we gotta get low. The terrain will confuse his targeting system."
You noticed Maverick lowered altitude. "He's coming around!"  You said looking behind the two of you. The fighter pilot started firing rounds at you both. "He's shooting, Maverick!"
"Where is he?!" He asked. You turn and look behind you both. "Still on us." The sound of bullets rang in your ear. "We took damage!"
"Damn it!" You put a hand on the window. "Do some of your crazy shit, come on!" "Brace yourself!" He pulled the plane up. "Holy shit!" You dove back down as you lifted up off your seat. Maverick got behind the pilot.
"Got tone, taking the shot." The plane released a missile, but the enemy released flares. "Damn it!" Maverick mutters. "Out of missiles, switching to guns."
The enemy aircraft took a few hits as your bullets went down. "Come on, come on!"
He stopped when the bullets hit 33. "One last chance, you can do this Maverick. I believe in you."
The last shots caused the pilot to eject, and the plane to wreck into the mountain side. "Splash two!"
The rest of the flight was calm, you had found how to turn the radio on. "Maverick, got the radio on!"
"Awesome. Get us in touch with the boat!" "Copy that." An alarm started going off. "Oh, my god."
"Where is he?" You looked around. "On our nose." Maverick pulled the trigger to fire. "Damn it, we're out of ammo." Your heart started pumping in your chest. Were you really gonna die this way? "Smoke in the air. Fallout, fire the flares!" Maverick pulled up, and around in a loop, and you distributed flares. "That was close!"
"No more flares!" You exclaimed. The plane circled back, and got behind us. "Shit, he's behind us!" You warned. He started firing at us. "This isn't good!" Maverick looked behind his shoulder, meeting your scared eyes, before turning the plane, dodging as many bullets as possible.
The sound of clanking filled your ears. "Another hit!" "No, no, no, no, no!"
A bunch of warnings popped up. "We can't hold on for long!" You exclaimed. "We have to eject, we can't outrun this guy!"
"Wait what?!" Maverick shifted. "We need altitude!" He looked over his shoulder. "Pull the handles as soon as I tell you to!"
"Maverick wait--!" Maverick cut you off, yelling your name. "There's no other way!"
The two immediately started pulling up, gaining height. "Eject!" He yelled to you. "But--" "Eject, damn it!" You pulled the ropes. "I can't!"
Maverick looked behind his shoulder. "Fallout, pull the handles, eject!"
"Its not working!" You strained as you continued pulling them, the sun glaring off your eye protectors. As you started gaining more altitude, you started losing vision, trying to breathe as much as possible. "I'm sorry. I'm sorry, Goose." Maverick muttered. The sound of an explosion caused you to try and turn your head. "Hangman." You muttered.
"Good afternoon, ladies and gentlemen, this is your savior speaking. Please fasten your seatbelts, return your tray tables to their locked and upright positions, and prepare for landing." You chuckled as Maverick hit the window, and gave him a thumbs up.
"Hey, Hangman, good job." You said.
"I'm always good." He replied. "See you on deck."
...
You guys landed, but not without problems. You lost your front landing gear, but eventually, made it for landing.
As the two of you stepped out, everyone cheered, and you waved. Maverick called you over. "Thank you for saving my life!" He said.
"It's what my brother would have done!" You answered. He grabbed you by the shoulders and kissed you. After the two of you pulled away, he hugged you.

Practical RF Design Manual
[Practical RF Design Manual by Doug DeMaw (Milton F "Doug" DeMaw). 1997. MFJ Publishing. 2nd Edition 1997 : 246 pages. ISBN 1-891237-00-4]
For many years I was an amateur radio - "ham radio" - operator, beginning when I was 13 years old and going up until I was about 40 years old.  For those who are interested, my call sign was WA6FEB and I held an Extra Class ham radio license (this is the highest classification).  My fascination with radio was fostered by my step-father, the late Sam Martin (WB6WZN, later N7TBV), who had learned his electronics and radio theory while serving in the US Navy.
Sam had many years’ worth of a magazine called QST, which was one of the premier journals available for ham radio enthusiasts.  Doug DeMaw, the author of the book under review here, was a prolific contributor to QST and to other ham radio publications.  I was (and remain) a huge fan of his writings, especially his transmitter and receiver projects for ham radio folks.
What I did not know then, but have come to learn, is that DeMaw was truly a world-class electrical and electronic engineer.  He was known to much of the world as a ham radio person first and foremost, but he was a professional engineer who had an extraordinarily broad grasp of all aspects of radio transmission and reception, covering all power levels from the very tiny (what we in the ham radio community called QRP, or low-power, operation, usually less than 1 watt) to the industrial (the 50,000-watt and 100,000-watt “clear channel” broadcasts from commercial radio stations, for example).  DeMaw was well-versed in design considerations spanning operating frequencies from the US AM broadcast band (560 KHz to 1600 KHz) all the way up to the UHF range (where television broadcast channel 14 begins in the US, or around 470 MHz and beyond).  His knowledge went beyond component-level design of devices to include the design and tuning of antennas and other auxiliary devices to aid in the radio experience.
All of this knowledge is subsumed under the aegis of RF - radio frequency.  RF in modern terms is usually linked to RF ID chips, which are becoming quite common in scenarios that require tracking (such as shipment packages), but this is a very restricted window into the RF world.  To really see just how vast an enterprise RF electronics is, one might consult this book.
This volume is truly a gem.  I dearly wish I had access to it back in the early 1970s when I was first getting into radio.  It would have illuminated a lot of practical design issues for me, especially on the design of receivers.  Receivers are generally more complicated and finicky than transmitters – it’s easier to generate radio energy and cast it out into the universe than it is to gather it in and make sense of it.  This book leads the reader through 7 broad-based topics and roughly 40 overall subsections within those topics, starting with transmitter and receiver fundamentals and leading the reader through considerations related to power regulation, signal quality, the use of different types of components for different frequencies of operation and different power levels, and so on.
Unlike much of DeMaw’s writing with which I had been previously acquainted, this book is definitely not a book for someone looking to do a home project.  There are no comprehensive instructions on assembling or testing transmitters, receivers, or other associated machinery.  This book is written for a true engineer who wants to become familiar with many (most) of the gotchas that accompany real in-the-trenches electronic engineering work.  And in this vein, this book is as useful to a professional radio engineer (such as someone who is the engineer-in-charge at a radio or television station, for instance) as it is to a radio hobbyist.  It is also not the sort of book from which to learn first principles of electronics; for this, there are many more suitable books that introduce electronics at the most elementary level (Ohm’s Law, Kirchhoff’s Law, how vacuum tubes and transistors work, what makes oscillators work, and so on).  This book assumes that the reader already has some engineering skin in the game, as the saying goes.
Whom would I recommend this book to?  Anyone who wishes to know something about electronics that precedes the modern all-digital era where whole systems are embedded on integrated circuit (IC) chips.  While those circuits may make for easier and more controlled design, they take away a lot of the learning, guesswork, and outright fun of figuring these things out for yourself.  DeMaw’s work hearkens back to what many of us current and former ham radio people think of as a sort of golden era of communications – a time before cell phones and before email.
A couple of comments about the text itself:
There are some typos both in the text and on the many diagrams.  For the most part these are easy to spot if you are already versed in basic electronics, but they would be profoundly confusing to someone who doesn’t know what they’re looking at.  Anyone who doesn’t know how to read a basic schematic diagram of a circuit will not find this volume very helpful.
Bearing in mind that some of the material in this book dates to the 1970s and 1980s, it is possible that some of the actual components cited in the text no longer exist or are not easily available.  Happily, the author describes them in sufficient detail that a modern engineer or hobbyist can find current components whose characteristics match what DeMaw had at his disposal when the book was written.  DeMaw was fairly fastidious about describing the important pieces of each circuit or circuit fragment in the book.  One needs but to pay attention to the text to make the connection.
I was delighted to read through this volume.  I am not currently an active hobbyist, but as I near retirement age, I am giving a return to ham radio serious thought.  With that in mind, this book will be an invaluable title in my collection when I once again wield a soldering iron and set out to make some more home-brew radio equipment as I did so many years ago.

Why RFID Jewelry Tags Are Essential for Jewelry Showroom Management
Tumblr media
Jewelry showrooms, known for displaying high-value and exquisite pieces, face unique challenges regarding inventory management, security, and efficient customer service. Managing hundreds or even thousands of high-end items manually can be overwhelming, time-consuming, and prone to human error. Enter RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) technology, transforming jewelry showrooms' operation. RFID jewelry tags are revolutionizing showroom management by providing seamless tracking, improving security, and offering real-time inventory updates.
The Role of RFID Tags in Jewelry Showrooms
RFID tags, when applied to jewelry pieces, contain a tiny chip and antenna that transmit data wirelessly to a reader. This technology has seen widespread adoption across various industries, and in jewelry showrooms, RFID systems offer tremendous benefits. These RFID jewelry tags can be attached to individual pieces like rings, necklaces, and watches, allowing the system to track their precise location within the store.
One of the most compelling features of RFID technology is that it can automatically scan multiple tags simultaneously, even through barriers like glass. This means that entire sections of jewelry can be tracked and counted instantly, providing real-time updates on the showroom’s inventory.
Key benefits of RFID Tags for jewelry stores:
1. Real-Time Inventory Management
One of the primary reasons RFID jewelry tags have become essential is their ability to provide real-time inventory updates. In traditional inventory systems, counting high-value items like jewelry is a manual and labor-intensive process. Employees must often scan each piece individually, which increases the risk of errors, missed items, or inconsistencies.
With RFID tags, the system can automatically track each piece’s exact location and status. Whether a piece has been moved from a display case, returned to storage, or sold to a customer, the system updates in real time. Say goodbye to manual counting and rest easy knowing that your inventory is always accurate. As a result, jewelry showrooms can significantly reduce time spent on inventory management, freeing up staff to focus on providing personalized customer service.
2. Enhanced Security and Theft Prevention
Jewelry showrooms are often targeted for theft because of the high value of the items on display. Keeping a close eye on every piece at all times is nearly impossible, but RFID jewelry tags offer a robust security solution. RFID systems allow showroom managers to monitor the movement of jewelry in real time, setting off alerts if any piece is moved without authorization or taken outside the designated zone.
The technology can also track who accessed the item and when helping create a traceable record of each piece’s movement within the showroom. This makes it easier to identify and prevent theft or unauthorized handling. RFID tags also offer an additional layer of protection when coupled with anti-theft alarms and security cameras, making it far more difficult for criminals to steal high-value items unnoticed.
3. Improved Customer Experience
In addition to improving security and inventory control, RFID technology can significantly enhance the overall customer experience. When a customer visits a jewelry showroom, they expect personalized service, and with RFID jewelry tags, staff can deliver just that. Showroom employees can quickly locate any piece of jewelry in the store by scanning the RFID system. This rapid retrieval saves time, especially during busy periods, allowing employees to provide better and faster service to customers.
Furthermore, RFID technology can be integrated into customer-facing systems, offering personalized recommendations or detailed product information with just a tap. For example, when a customer shows interest in a particular piece, the RFID tag can instantly pull up detailed information about the jewelry, such as its design, materials, pricing, and available sizes. This speeds up the sales process and enhances the overall shopping experience by offering quick, relevant information tailored to the customer’s needs.
4. Seamless Inventory Audits
Regular inventory audits are necessary to ensure the showroom’s stock matches sales records. However, manually auditing jewelry can be both time-consuming and prone to errors, especially when dealing with high-value collections. RFID jewelry tags simplify this process significantly.
Instead of manually counting each piece and matching it against records, RFID readers can scan an entire collection in a matter of minutes. This not only improves accuracy but also reduces the time required for audits from hours or even days to just a fraction of that time. Jewelry showrooms can conduct more frequent audits without interrupting daily operations, ensuring that inventory data is always up-to-date and accurate.
5. Efficient Product Tracking
Tracking individual pieces of jewelry is one of the biggest challenges in showroom management. Pieces may be moved frequently between display cases, stock rooms, and customers, making it hard to keep track of their exact location at any given time. RFID tags allow showroom managers to know precisely where each item is, whether it's in a display case, out for cleaning, or being shown to a potential buyer.
This efficient tracking system reduces the chances of items being misplaced, saving time and reducing the risk of losses. It also provides valuable insights into which pieces are more frequently handled or requested, helping managers optimize their display strategies to showcase the most popular items.
6. Scalability for Growing Businesses
As a jewelry business grows, managing larger inventories can become increasingly challenging. RFID jewelry tags offer a scalable solution that grows with the business. Whether a showroom has a few hundred or several thousand pieces, the RFID system can handle the increased volume without losing efficiency. This makes it an excellent long-term investment for businesses looking to expand their product offerings or open multiple locations.
Conclusion The adoption of RFID jewelry tags is transforming jewelry showroom management, providing benefits that go beyond simple tracking. From real-time inventory management and improved security to enhanced customer experiences and efficient audits, RFID technology is becoming an essential tool for modern jewelry businesses. As the jewelry industry continues to evolve, RFID tags offer a reliable, scalable, and secure solution for managing high-value items with ease. Embracing this technology not only boosts operational efficiency but also helps create a seamless, personalized experience for customers, ensuring success in today’s competitive retail landscape.
