"Not All Heroes Wear Capes" Wade Whipple [Knuckes] x Reader

Warnings: Swearing, slight violence, gun mention, mention of a pop culture moment (the Morgan Wallen chair incident)

It's night time in Wendy Whipple's tiny home, and you are curled into Wade's side. The bed was almost the entire size of Wade, you barely fitting on the bed. He has an arm lazily wrapped around you, occasionally tapping his wedding band clad finger against your side.

Knuckles was sleeping on an inflatable mattress next to the tiny bed, snoring. All was peaceful until a loud thud. You were the first up, jolting from the comfortable position you were in prior. Sudden noises like that triggered your brain to be alert, especially after being in the military.

"Babe?" You hear Wade mumble, feeling for where you were prior.

"Someone's downstairs."

Wade attempts to pull you back down. "It's probably my mom getting water." You shake your head. "No, Wade. It did not sound like just getting a glass. It sounded like--"

Glass downstairs shattered, and you quickly jumped out of bed. "Hey, don't-" Wade didn't get to finish his sentence and you were out of the room.

Wade was hot on your heels, Knuckles tailing the two of you as well. Downstairs was Wendy and Wanda, still in their pajamas, having a wrestling match with two of the intruders, more pouring into the home. "Stay back, babe. I got this," Wade reassures, holding a chair.

"No, you do not, Wade," Knuckles tries to warn, before Wade misses the chair throw at the intruders.

"Morgan Wallen much?" You snicker, before an intruder aims a gun at you. Wade begins to panic, but you remain calm. "Drop the gun," You warn, taking a careful step.

"Babe-"

"Not now, Wade!"

You have your hands behind your back, and as soon as the intruder cocked the gun, you pulled your hands out and tazed the intruder.

The intruder let out a stray shot in the wall, dropping to the ground. You grab the gun and aim it at one of the other intruders, who was wrestling Wade. You knew Knuckles could handle the last intruder, so you did not bother. "Drop your weapons now!" You shout to the man held at the end of her gun. He drops the balled chain to the ground before retreating out the window.

The tazed and confused crook stumbles to try and get up after being tazed, and left as well. Knuckles threw the other guy through the window, breaking it in the process.

"The Whipple family remains victorious!" Knuckles proclaims, causing you to smile.

You try to make a comment, but are crushed by Wade hugging you tightly. "That was so badass!" He shouts to you in excitement. "I didn't know you could fight like that."

"I mean, it was a part of training to disarm people," You reply, glancing around the room.

"We definatley need to clean up tomorrow."

Hello, it's been awhile! (Hope you've been well)

If I could, I'd like to request Wade with an ex-milatary reader. I thought it could be really funny lol. Like some bad guys come after knuckles (and wade by association), and Wade's telling reader to go get somewhere safe but then the reader kick their butts so easily lmao.

Of course, as always don't feel pressured to write, and stay hydrated in the summer heat!
