Trying to make this a more consistent thing so here is me talking about my 10 most anticipated fights of the week (7/19/2024-7/21/2024). No particular order.
Chantelle Cameron vs Elhem Mekhaled - Less about it being a competitive match up and more about liking both fighters. I feel a bit for Chantelle Cameron. Beat the P4P best boxer in the sport in her own backyard. Took a rematch for big money and basically got jobbed by the referee (and herself). For Mekhaled, she jumps up two weight classes after the loss to Baumgardner. She's won two since and is now fighting for the interim super lightweight championship. Mekhaled is a fun fighter and I can't imagine she doesn't turn this into a firefight.
Junto Nakatani vs Vincent Astrolabio - Junto Nakatani is now a P4P fighter in the sport. And rightfully so. Fantastic talent. Fun style and one of the more skilled finishers below the featherweight division. Vincent Astrolabio isn't a straight walkover, he fought Jason Moloney to a tight decision, but with some of the talent at the top end of bantamweight atm (and them all being in Japan) you'd hope Nakatani was getting those fights. I believe this is a mandatory though, so what can you do but hope for a good fight. If Nakatani really wants to fight Inoue, the fight he should be chasing is against Takuma Inoue.
Kosei Tanaka vs Jonathan Rodriguez - One of the big fights on the undercard of that Nakatani card. Kosei Tanaka was a hot shot super flyweight prospect that got turned away by grizzled vet and champion Kazuto Ioka. Tanaka has won 5 straight since the loss, capturing the WBO super flyweight title in the process. He is now set to face off with Jonathan Rodriguez, a Mexican boxer that failed to win a world title a while back. Tanaka is a fun fighter and Mexico vs Japan fights tend to be absolute head. Looking forward to it.
Tenshin Nasukawa vs Jonathan Rodriguez - A different Jonathan Rodriguez btw. P4P kickboxing great Tenshin Nasukawa continues on his quick ascent up the rankings in boxing. While Jonathan Rodriguez is coming off a loss to Antonio Vargas, he also had knocked out Khalid Yafai in his previous fight in the 1st round. He's not an easy fight for anyone to have in their 4th professional boxing match. Will be interesting to see how Tenshin manages.
Losene Keita vs Predrag Bogdanović - OKTAGON 59 - Losene Keita is possibly the most interesting prospect in Oktagon MMA atm. Fighting out of Belgium, he's got all the physical tools to be a real killer at featherweight. But he's competing up at lightweight for this big Oktagon LW tournament. He did not look great in his previous fight, getting badly hurt by Sardari in the process. So he'll be looking to reaffirm himself. I haven't seen a anything from Predrag Bogdanović outside of his loss to Will Brooks, but he's apparently a strong grappler. Should be interesting.
Doo Ho Choi vs Bill Algeo - UFC on ESPN 60 - This fight will be good for exactly 4 minutes. Either one of them, probably Choi, scores a KO in that time or Algeo will beat the hell out of Choi as he fades and stops him in the 2nd or 3rd. Choi just isn't a very durable fighter, despite his athletic gifts and I don't trust those gifts to still be there at this point. But it does have me invested. So it's on the list.
Amanda Lemos vs Virna Jandiroba - UFC on ESPN 60 - Of the fights on the list, this is the one I could see sucking. Lemos is a strong fighter but not a strong anti-wrestler. Jandiroba is a small grappler who's extremely skilled on the mat but can be scared off wrestling. Could end up being a tepid kickboxing match or a boring, one sided grappling match.
Petchpanomrung Kiatmoo9 vs Kento Haraguchi 3 - Glory 93 - 2023 was a rough year for Petchpanomrung. He went 2-2. He defended his Glory featherweight title twice but lost his two bouts up at lightweight. First he got stopped by Tyjani Beztati. Then he lost a 5 rounder in December to Chad Collins for the RISE title. So now he's defending that Glory featherweight title again. And against a guy he's 2-0 against - Kento Haraguchi. Kento has won 4 straight since losing to Petchpanomrung in 2022, including 3 stoppage wins.
Tyjani Beztati vs Endy Semeleer - Glory 93 - Endy Semeleer is no longer Glory welterweight champion. His reign cut short by a TKO stoppage where Chico Kwasi dropped him 3 times. Tyjani Beztati is also no longer Glory Lightweight champion. But because Glory decided they no longer wanted the division and cut it loose. So now Beztati is moving up to welterweight, possibly in anticipation of a yet to be announced upcoming Glory Welterweight Grand Prix. A very good fighter. Two former champions squaring off, with a possible shot at the welterweight title on the line.
I was really tempted to pick a random fight off the KSW card or Oktagon card but it felt inauthentic. Just did not have a 10th fight that felt super noteworthy. Maybe Jeong Yeong Lee vs Hyder Amil. So imagine an amazing fight that is happening this weekend and put it here. Maybe the start of the Olympics. Go watch some amateur wrestling or boxing or judo. I'm sure there's some great Muay Thai that I'm missing. IDK. Let me know.

I love to see a Women Win
(Amanda Nunes)
September 19, 2024 Rookie's Playbook
I’m back at it again deep diving into things I have no concept of, and today it’s the world of the UFC! I like for my first read-through something to be an explanation of sorts so I can try and figure out exactly what is happening, and today I'm diving into the beauty of women champions.
From my understanding there are four types of championships, there is feather-weight, bantam-weight, fly-weight, and straw-weight. I’m not gonna lie, half of these to me sound like the same thing with AI generated names. After doing further research it all depends on the weight of the fighter, which when I was younger used to confuse the hell out of me because I thought it was so rude to segregate people into weight categories, now however I know it’s so you don’t get absolutely murdered.
Feather-weight(126 pounds) has no current champion, but they do have three past champions. Amanda Nunes won in 2018 with two defenses and a TKO of 1 over her opponent Cris Cyborg. I’m not going to sit here and lie to you either if my last name was Cyborg no one could talk to me. That is such badass. The only knowledge I have of a TKO(Total Knockout) is when executed the fighter is left unable to complete the fight, so that is insanely hardcore to me. Currently, the brazilian fighter has insane stats ranging from 13-2 TKO, SUB 4-2, and W-L-D 23-5-0. Now, again I will not lie to you I only know what the TKO is.
Sub is when a fighter ‘taps out’, yielding to their opponent so that they win. So, that takes the badass levels down some, but hey who knows this could actually be the lowest for someone and she is the dominant woman to have ever lived. Then the W-L-D is win, loss, or draw. The thing that I'm getting at for Nunes is that she doesn’t believe in draws and eats up her opponent every time, 23 wins! Insane!
Now that I know the terms let's move onto bantamweight, which is the 135 pound limit. The current champion for this category is Raquel Pennington, with an outcome of a UD over Mayra Bueno Silva. Now comes my next question, the hell is a UD? This is a term I have heard of and often yell out when I want to look knowledgeable, it means unanimous decision. This is when all the judges are in agreement of which fighter is the winner, so good for Miss Pennington!
Pennington’s stats are W-L-D 16-9-0, TKO 1-1, and sub is 1-1, not bad but not my new favorite fighter Amanda Nunes good.
Women’s flyweight is next on our list and their poundage (?) is 125. I’m going to be honest, with all the searching and rules about the fighters weight is insane to me, what is a one pound difference in the grand scheme of it all you know? Anyway, the current champion of this category is Valentina Shevchenko who won in a unanimous decision against Alexas Grasso! Look at me knowing my terms, this is what we call development guys. Shevchenko’s stats are W-L-D 24-4-1, TKO 8-1, and Sub 7-1. I’m gonna be honest, Miss Nunes has my heart, but Schevchenko scares the shit outta me the most.
The final category is straw-weight and the weight is 115 pounds, again the names just all seem too similar for my taste and I find them very much confusing but non the less I digress. The current champion is the lady with the best cheekbones I have ever seen Zhang Weili who won against Carla Esparza with a Sub2. Her stats rival Nunes to me with a W-L-D 25-3-0, TKO 11-1, and Sub 8-0. She is a Chinese fighter whose career I feel I will be following closely.
After all that research I can confirm that this is the most intriguing of the sports I have covered so far, and I simply cannot wait to learn more about it.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Eva Ultimate Talent: MMA Fighter -The merciless and ruthless force that she rains down obliterates everything in its path, sends shivers to every opponent that enters her ring; thus earning the name "Deva of Destruction". Her path started when was 9 after announcing to her family (of all boys) that she wanted to do MMA as her "field". She comes from a long line of athletes who were champions of different categories and are recognized by the sports community all over the world, even her younger brothers are title holders of different cities.
After hearing her statement, her father and everyone of her brothers gave all their attention and support for her to be the best fighter out there, she continued a rigorous training regimen until she was 14 to make her debut. Thanks to her family's history, she was allowed to enter and become the youngest fighter in UFC history.
Ever since her debut fight, she's shown the world of how much of a vicious and blood-thirsty fighter she is as she utilizes very little defense and only going for the attack. Using her overwhelming strikes and suffocating grappling, after every match all of her opponents would be in a severe catatonic state where they wouldn't wake up for days, there were occasions where they would even enter a coma and to only wake up months later. The casualty rate was so severe that after becoming the champion of all six weight classes, she was forever banned from the Women's division and was only allowed to enter the Men's. Currently as it stands, she earned the champion title of five weight classes (Flyweight, Bantaweight, Featherweight, Lightweight, and Welterweight).

MMA 2023 champion predictions, lots of hot takes but bare with me here:-
Heavyweight - Francis Ngannou defends against Jones and then leaves the UFC. Gane and Blaydes fight for the vacant belt, Blaydes beats Gane and becomes the champion.
Light Heavyweight - Jamahal beats Glover but then loses to Jîri upon his return.
Middleweight - Adesanya wins the rematch with Pereira, Khamzat moves up to middleweight and beats Adesanya.
Welterweight - Usman beats Edwards in the rematch and then retires, Khamzat doesn't make 170 and moves up, so Belal and Colby fight for the vacant belt, I think Belal wins that fight.
Lightweight - Volk beats Islam and Beneil Dariush.
Featherweight - Volk beats the winner of Yair Vs Emmett and presumably Arnold Allen.
Bantamweight - Sterling loses to Cejudo, Cejudo beats Sean and Merab (I don't know where Chito fits into this unless they do Sean Vs Chito 2 ngl).
Flyweight - Moreno beats Figueiredo and Pantoja finally gets to fight for the belt, I think Moreno beats Pantoja this time around.
Women's Featherweight:-Nunes is alone in this division at this point, I don't see Norma Dumont or Macy Chiasson posing a threat to Nunes.
Women's Bantamweight:-Valentina Vs Nunes 3, I think Nunes wins this one, after Valentina's last performance I'm not too confident in her beating Nunes, Nunes could also fight Ketlen Vieira afterwards but that doesn't feel like a close fight (she definitely lost to Holly), I think Irene Aldana could pose a good threat though.
Women's Flyweight:-Valentina loses her belt to Manon Fiorot, Grasso could challenge afterwards but prove unsuccessful. I think the winner of Santos Vs Blanchfield could challenge for the belt and be champ by the end of this year.
Women's Strawweight:-Whether it'd be Lemos, Xiaonan or Namajunas for the third time, I think Zhang Weili beats all 3.

Cong Wang vs Valentina Shevchenko - Kunlun Fight 33
UFC Debut Alert!
Very rarely am I excited for UFC debuts but we got a good one this week - Chinese flyweight Cong Wang (5-0). Cong is an experienced Sanda fighter and kickboxer, who has this controversial win over UFC flyweight champion Valentina Shevchenko in kickboxing. She's got a world championship in Wushu and also won a silver medal at the 2019 Amateur World Boxing championships. She lost in the finals to 2x Olympic medalist and future pro world champion Beatriz Ferreira. She also beat 2x Olympic bronze medalist Mira Potkonen in that tournament. Point being, she's a legit striker making her way into MMA.
Cong Wang will face off with Victoria Leonardo (9-5) at UFC Fight Night: Cannonier vs. Borralho this Saturday (August 24).

UFC Macau Post-Fight Show: Reaction to Petr Yan’s Vintage Win Over Deiveson Figueiredo
Petr Yan looks ready to make another bantamweight title run. On Saturday, Yan picked up a unanimous decision win over Deiveson Figueiredo in the main event of UFC Macau, in a vintage performance from the former 135-pound champion. Though Figueiredo was highly competitive throughout, Yan simply out-worked the former flyweight champ to take a clean sweep of the judges’ scorecards, 50-45 and put…
