This weekend we are wrapping up Nicholas Rowe’s (1674-1718) The Work of Mr. William Shakespear; in Six Volumes. Published in London in 1709 by Jacob Tonson (1655–1736), this second edition holds an important place within Shakespearean publication history. The Work of Mr. William Shakespear; in Six Volumes is recognized as the first octavo edition, the first illustrated edition, the first critically edited edition, and the first to present a biography of the poet.
Volume six is a collection of Shakespeare’s tragedies and comedies including several plays that are a part of the Shakespeare apocrypha that bear Shakespeare’s name, but do not appear in the First Folio and of which there is question about his role in writing them. Apocrypha in the sixth volume include Pericles Prince of Tyre, London Prodigal, Thomas Lord Cromwell, Sir John Oldcastle, The Puritan, A Yorkshire Tragedy, and Locrine. Volume six also includes confirmed Shakespearean plays Antony and Cleopatra and Cymbeline.
A full-page engraving by the French Baroque artist and book illustrator François Boitard (1670-1715) and engraved by English engraver Elisha Kirkall (c.1682–1742) precedes each play. Boitard’s illustrations often place readers at the pinnacle of the plays depicting high drama in his classic Baroque style.
In addition to Rowe’s editorial decisions to divide the plays into scenes and include notes on the entrances and exits of the players, he also normalised the spelling of names and included a dramatis personae preceding each play. The only chronicled critique of Rowe’s momentous editorial endeavor is his choice in basing his text on the corrupt Fourth Folio.

Step by Step DIY Guide of 24 Hour Mobile Tyre Fitting
Tumblr media
Fitting a flat tyre can be a daunting task if you've never done it before. But with the right tools and these 12 easy-to-follow steps, you'll have your car safely back on the road again in no time. The expert mobile tyre fitting teams at 24hr Mobile Tyre Fitting London are also on call 24/7 if you need a helping hand.
Things You’ll Need:
Spare tyre
Jack
Wheel brace or lug wrench
Wheel chocks
Gloves
Warning triangles (if available)
Step 1: Get Prepared
When you realise you have a flat tyre, the first thing to do is move your vehicle off the road onto a flat, solid, level surface if possible. This ensures your safety as you change the tyre. Put on your hazard warning lights, and set up an emergency warning triangle behind your vehicle to alert other drivers.
Step 2: Inspect the Flat Tyre
Before you start jacking up your vehicle, inspect the flat tyre for what caused the puncture. Look for things like nails, glass shards, or large holes that indicate a rip or tear in the rubber itself. This can determine if the tyre is salvageable later or needs total replacement.
Step 3: Chock the Wheels
You want your car to be completely stable before getting underneath it with the jack. Place chocks snugly against both wheels diagonal from the flat. So if changing the front left tyre, slide chocks securely against the rear right wheel on each side.
Step 4: Loosen the Lug Nuts
Using your wheel brace or lug wrench, loosen all of the lug nuts about a quarter turn counter clockwise. Don’t remove them fully yet - just break their resistance so they unscrew freely later when the tyre is off the ground.
Step 5: Set Up the Car Jack
Place the jack directly beneath one of the designated jack points usually located close to the tyre wheel wells. It’s important to position it straight otherwise your car risks slipping. Use slow, smooth pumps on the jack to lift the car just high enough for the flat tyre to lift fully off the ground.
Step 6: Remove Lug Nuts & Flat Tyre
Now that the wheel is elevated, finish unscrewing the lug nuts fully by hand. Set them aside somewhere clean. You can now slide the flat tyre off the wheel bolts. It may be firmly stuck in place, especially if the nuts were tight, so be prepared to give it some force. But don’t do anything risky.
Step 7: Mount Spare Tyre
Pick up the spare from your boot and line up the centre hole evenly with the exposed wheel bolts before lifting into place. Some gentle side-to-side wiggling can help get it settled correctly over the bolts if needed. When positioned perfectly, slide it fully back and push firmly so it seats flush against the hub.
Step 8: Replace Lug Nuts
Screw the lug nuts back on by hand in a crisscross star pattern until fairly tight and secure. It's important they go on evenly at this stage before using the brace tool.
Step 9: Lower the Vehicle
Time to get your car safely back on the ground. Gently crank the jack handle counter clockwise, lowering slowly and smoothly until the full vehicle weight rests on the newly changed tyre.  Remove jack once fully lowered.
Step 10: Tighten Lug Nuts
With the car now grounded, you can tighten the lug nuts as securely as possible using your wheel brace or lug wrench tool. Give them considerable force in sequence, crossing diagonally around the wheel in an X pattern until each nut is satisfactorily tight.
Step 11: Stow the Flat Tyre
Before hitting the road again, you need to stow the flat tyre safely in your trunk. Secure it so it doesn’t bounce around and cause damage while driving to get it repaired or replaced. You’ll also need to remove the wheel chocks and stow your car jack and tools too.
Step 12: Seek Repair Soonest
While you hopefully can now carry on with your travels, it’s crucial you get the flat tyre properly repaired or replaced right away rather than leave the spare on long-term. Call the tyre specialists at 24hr Mobile Tyre Fitting London and we’ll send out our professional mobile tyre fitting vehicles to your location, any time of day or night.
There you have it – with the right gear and a little perseverance, you can get back on the road again quickly when faced with a flat tyre emergency. And the mobile tyre fitting experts near me at 24 hour Mobile Tyre Fitting London also have your back whenever extra assistance is needed, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

There is usually an M & S emblem as well as a snowflake symbol on winter tyres. In comparison to summer tyres, they feature an overall higher amount of sipes. These tyres have a unique side structure. Regardless of when icy conditions are present, it allows for the best possible surface traction of the tyre over a flat road condition. The various tread patterns on the tyres are quite visible. Summer tyres often have very few sipes or grooves on their tread surfaces.
