G’day!
I’m Typos and welcome to my silly little blog! I like fallout, powerarmor and the asshole tin-can normally wearing it. Other occasional interests are the bad batch /the clone wars, pikmin, spore 2008 among other things :]

The person is wearing a dark grey t-shirt and a navy blue T51 helmet with orange hoses and a dark green visor. The person is the same navy colour as helmet. They are looking at the laptop. There is a small pink heart above the laptop. The back of the laptop has a ‘t’ on it. The artists signature is on the back of the laptop “typos & tea”in hot pink. End ID]

This is my main blog! I'll mostly be posting my drawings and crochet. Will occasionally reblog here, but most reblogs are over on @typosandtea-reblogs
(trialing just reblogging everything here but with Q, was reblogging half of the things here anyway haha)
Always up for friendly asks, tags, silly or whatever! Feel free to ask me stuff even if it’s just chatting, memes or silly! :)
I like to draw! silly drawings, occasionally simple animations too! Mostly fallout drawings at the moment (ha) as I’ve contracted the obsession from fallout 4 lol. I like all of the Fallout games including 1, though 4 is my favorite! I also like to crochet and am currently working on a customizable person pattern so I have a solid base to make character patterns from! (danse)

knitters and/or crocheters, a poll for you! i'm a long-time knitter and very occasional crocheter; my wife is capable of knitting but very much prefers crochet. i feel like many (maybe most?) people have a strong inclination to one craft or the other, and am wondering how true that is.
i ran out of options in the poll, so this assumes that you're more skilled at the craft you prefer. if you're objectively better at knitting but really love crochet, or vice versa, please accept my apologies, and maybe go with 'prefer [whatever], equally skilled'.
for the 'prefer, but can' options, 'can' is meant to encompass basically any level of skill from 'i can do the most basic stitches' to 'i'm genuinely skilled at this, but clearly not as skilled as i am at the other craft'.
i imagine that this will only have like twelve votes, so it may not tell me much, but i'm interested anyway!

Crochet Pattern for Palestine and Israel Relief
At long last, it's done!
Tumblr media
This crochet pattern is for small cats, of a good size to make into keychains, magnets, or even hair clips! There are six PDF versions available:
- US stitch names in 12 point Atkinson Hyperlegible - US stitch names in 22 point Atkinson Hyperlegible - US stitch names in 22 point Comic Sans
- UK stitch names in 12 point Atkinson Hyperlegible - UK stitch names in 22 point Atkinson Hyperlegible - UK stitch names in 22 point Comic Sans
Between those six options, that should cover most pattern accessibility needs. If you need something else, though, let me know! I'm prepared to offer a .doc or similar file on an individual basis if you need a screenreader to access crochet patterns, and have a sheet I can use to translate things to German stitch terms (though more in-depth instructions would still be in English). The pattern is worked primarily in (US) single crochet/(UK) double crochet, with the ears in (US) double crochet/(UK) treble crochet popcorn stitches, and is bundled with similar file options of a popcorn stitch tutorial PDF (no stitch names used).
"Socchan," you say, "These cats are super cute! And you said that this pattern is for charity? How does that work exactly?"
I'm glad you asked! Simply donate a minimum of $3 or close-enough local equivalent to a related charity, then take a screencap of your receipt/proof of donation. Block out any information that could doxx you; it's nice if you trust me, but it's not impossible that my email could get hacked, and I want you to be safe! Finally, email the altered screencap to socchan (at) protonmail (dot) com.
Once I get and check the screencap, I will email you back with a link to a MediaFire folder and the password you'll need to open the PDFs. Yes, it is a bit of a pain to need a password to open these files, but this was the simplest way I could figure out how to do things without needing to upload and send a minimum of six files to every person. Download as many of the variations as you want, keep a copy of the password somewhere safe (and don't delete the email with it), and go to town!
As a bonus, if you take your donation up to at least $5 (or close-enough local equivalent), I'll throw in an additional link and password for a very cute little flower pattern!
Tumblr media
"That sounds pretty easy," you go on to say, "but where should I donate? There are so many options to choose from!"
No problem! Here's a couple of short lists of options that can help you narrow things down:
Palestine: Palestine Children's Relief Fund - Focuses on medical aid to children in Palestine Medical Aid for Palestine - "[H]elp MAP respond to the ongoing emergency in Gaza, as well as provide medical supplies, support healthcare services and deliver long term development to healthcare in the occupied Palestinian territory and Palestinian refugee camps in Lebanon." MAP reportedly has a team on the ground in Gaza, providing critical medical aid. Anera - Providing food, hygiene kits, and medical care in Gaza, the West Bank, and East Jerusalem. Palestine Red Crescent - More medical support in Palestine; the rest of the webpage is in Arabic, so be prepared if you want to click around at all. Basically the Palestinian Red Cross. Gaza Cemetery Project - "Al-Hamdulillah, a 5,500 square meters’ piece of land has been secured to create a public cemetery for the city and neighbouring areas." This area still needs a fence to protect the burial plots before it can be used.
Israel: Zaka - A group of first responders and people who identify bodies and prepare them for burial (sadly, sorely needed right now); they are in need of safety equipment, medical supplies, first aid kits, and more. Red Magen David - The Israeli/Jewish equivalent of the Red Cross; first responder medical support and similar. (This one has some pretty immediate upsetting text, so take care!) Hatzalah - Similar to Red Magen David, another first responder and emergency medical group. The Koby Mandell Foundation - Focuses on bereavement aid in Israel for people who have lost loved ones in traumatic circumstances; they've got support hotlines and can arrange for support visits, among other things. The Refuser Solidarity Network - Providing support for Israeli citizens who refuse government mandatory military service.
I think that's everything, aside from: Please Signal Boost! If I end up having to send out two hundred emails in the next couple of days, that still won't be too many.

mittens !!!! pattern X - i modified a bit because my yarn was a bit more thick, so i shortned a few rows of the colorwork & added the burnt orange details instead :)
#remember when i posted almost a month ago about a friend that commissioned some mittens#?#so yeah the one i was making initially turned out fine i suppose#i even posted the picture here#but the i noticed the sizing wasn’t right & the yarn i was using was sooo annoying to work it i just couldn’t get it right... it was also#like dyed like ombré? & the colors were a bit off. like each mitt had a different color like the weren’t even a pair...#but i was insisting too much like i undid & knitting that thing like +10 times#knitted*#so i decided so grab some yarn that i like for my mittens & that i’m already familiar with & found this pretty pattern & so!! ta-da!!#it’s so much nicer than the other one. also my friend wasn’t that specific & gave me a lot of liberty do to whatever#she gave me a general idea of the colors she liked so these are perfect#also the inspo pics she sent me all had this kinda fair isle design but at first i was a little intimidated so i barely did it on that one#first mitten that i had posted. so i’m glad i tried a diff pattern a managed to make these!!!!#anyway that’s basically what my month was all about lol worrying abt the mitts then finally finding a solution#also i got a commission from a instagram mutual to crochet a bag with that little sleepy snoopy design on it!! i’ve seen it on tumblr a few#times now & i’m excited to finish this project & finally get to it!! already bought the yarn & it’s so pretty#SO MANY TYPOS SORRY#girl knits world#knitting

Lacemakers of tumblr
Crochet lace - 24.2%, 82 people
Knitted lace - 22.4%, 76 people
Bobbin lace - 20.5%, 69 people
Embroidred lace - 14.3%, 50 people
Tatting - 10.2%, 38 people
Needle lace - 5.8%, 20 people
Cutwork - 1.5%, 5 people
Tapelace - 0.6%, 2 people
Other - 0.3%, 1 person
Around 345 lacemakers voted
The data is from a poll i made last week.
link here-  https://www.tumblr.com/thehistoricalfrog/709634158176223232/favorite-type-of-lacemaking-bobbin-lace-needle?source=share
The poll was to find out what are the lacemaking demographics of tumblr. After it ended i calculated roughly how meny people voted what, and the procenteges (minus the 60% of people who weren't lacemakers) . With that i made two grafs as seen above.
Thank you to everybody who voted! and to the people that expanded in the notes, thank you it was very interesting.

I have been crocheting this gnome off and on for months now. It has been a procrastination curse for so long.
I kept having to unravel him because of yarn fuck ups or miss counted rows. This gnome is cursed and only exists to punish me.
Tumblr media
I am so glad to be done with him. It’s like I have finally completed a cosmic task.
If anyone is curious I thought it would be funny to use red scrap yarn to stuff him, giving the gnome more life…I think I accidentally made him into a vessel for my failures and frustration, why he went and punished me so…gonna be sure I cleanse him before give him a new home.

ok, but, headcannon that snotlout likes to crochet. and he's really good at it, but only his mother and hookfang knows bc he's afraid to tell someone and have they thinking its not manly enough for him.
so sometimes, when he's alone, he makes crochet outfits for hookfang, for him, for the gang and for their dragons and stores them all in a chest bc he doesn't want anyone to see it (and hookie would never wear it anyways).
until one day, on the edge, hiccup found it unintentionally and decided to surprise his cousin by making the whole gang wear it.
and snotlout may have shed a tear or two... but he'll never admit it tho

Yarny YouTube reccomendations
So I like watching yarncraft-y videos while I do my own yarny crafting (because if I watch them when I'm not crafting it'll just make me want to craft and procrastinate on work and that ain't good), and I kinda just wanted to give out some yarny channel reccomendations especially since some of these channels are on the smaller side and deserve more views
Now I want to give out a disclaimer that I really like watching videos about people making things, like, "I wanna make X item, come with me to make the thing and let's see what might go wrong". I'm not really into podcasts that much, nor am I into tutorials. There are great channels that do fantastic videos that fall into those two categories, but since they're not the kind of videos I personally enjoy watching, I'm not including them. These are my reccomendations based on my preferances, nothing objective etc
BTW I've linked the videos I'm reccomending on this video in the channel names so if you want to go watch the video immidiately, no need to go looking for them, already there
Michelle Jasek
Tumblr media
(Formerly known as Fancy Dinosaur Tea Party) Absolute Queen, has a funky vintage style that makes her crochet creations super interesting, and makes the exact type of videos I love. Her videos are the backbone of my crochet video needs.
She does also make thrifting and sewing videos and other content, and all of it is great, but man, those crochet videos just hit different
Kayla (Alt Knots)
Tumblr media
Kayla does a lot of haul-type videos, reviewing yarns and hooks and those are the videos I go to them for. They also do occassional DIY projects (with an alt twist for my fellow gothically inclined friends) and tutorials, just a lot of community content, like if you enjoy having crochet-alongs or watching movies or chatting streams or doing book clubs while crocheting, Kayla has you covered, they do a lot of content.
Also god damn I have never wanted an ergonomic crochet hook before but Kayla is going to singlehandedly convince to buy one from Furls sooner or later out of sheer FOMO
Retro Claude
Tumblr media
Around July of 2022, Claude uploaded this video of her sharing her yarn stash and what a Problem it had kind of become for her. In the video she goes deeper into the stash to figure out how much yarn she has and has since been uploading monthly videos in her Stash Busting series, where she tries to use up all the yarn she has.
Claude mainly does vintage knitting, some of her projects getting their own videos while others only get shown in the stash busting series. She also does (vintage) sewing and, what else can I say, her videos are great, go watch them
Shaiyeh - Witchy Knits Podcast
Tumblr media
Like I mentioned before, I'm not a podcast person really, but Shaiyeh's knits tend to have a very whimsical twist to them that appeal to my gothic ass so I can't help but to be drawn to her yarn-videos. They're very chill and cozy so I really want you go check her videos out, they're painfully underrated and she deserves way more views than she gets
Engineering Knits
Tumblr media
I'm not really a knitter but vintage knitting is just facinating and Engineering Knits does a lot of that, as well as other videos that're either knitting or vintage clothing related. Go check her out!
Wool Needles Hands
Tumblr media
Wool Needles Hands does mainly podcasts but between her podcasts she often does either pattern reccomendations (mainly for knitting) or some wonderful, extremely informative videos about yarn-related subjects, and it's those informative videos (like the one I've linked above) that I always find myself looking forward to
TL Yarn Crafts
Tumblr media
I'm sure you already know Tony, she is an Absolute Goddess and her tutorials are a godsend. But I'm not including her on this list because of her tutorials, no, she's on this list because I love watching her reviews, be it for yarn or gadgets, they're all great.
But also if you ever need any crochet tutorials, Tony has you covered, she is without a doubt the best crochet tutorial maker on YouTube and if you haven't watched her videos yet, you're missing out (which is why she's at the bottom of the list, because surely you already know her)
