Kid... (Tyler Seguin)
Does include swearing and mentions of cheating...
Tyler and I had met when he first came to Dallas. I was only a few years younger than him but for some reason, he had nicknamed me Kid. For a while, he was just like an older brother. Throughout the years, a bunch of things in both of our lives changed but the one thing that was consistent with him was that he never liked any of the people I dated. So it was no surprise that the minute I started dating Princeton, Tyler had his reservations.
"You're dating a dude named Princeton?" He asked as soon as I finished announcing my new relationship.
"Yeah."
"His name is Princeton?"
"Tyler. What's wrong this time?" I asked, sitting back on the couch and sipping on my wine.
"Kid, his name is Princeton."
"And you're name is Tyler." I laughed, knowing exactly where his logic was currently.
"Princeton is such a douche name!"
"And Tyler isn't? Can't you just give him a chance?"
"Fine kid. But don't come crying to me when it all goes wrong." He laughed, pouring more wine into my glass.
"Deal." I laughed as well, taking another drink. What I didn't know was just how right he was.
~
A few months later, Princeton had decided that he wanted to meet my friends. I had met his friends but he had yet to meet mine. When I got the text that the boys were heading to the bar after a winning game, I jumped at the chance. I texted Princeton and then started getting ready.
Not long after, he showed up in an uber and we were on our way. The whole ride, I told Princeton a little about the boys and how we had met. I told him how Tyler was the first one of the bunch I met and how we immediately clicked. I also warned him that Tyler may be a little standoffish. When he asked why I slowly danced around how Tyler had never liked any of the guys I was with.
"He's just very protective and only wants the best for me. Once he gets to know you and sees how amazing you are, he'll lighten up."
"Okay." He whispered back, placing a kiss on my cheek.
"And you let me know when you want to leave. I don't work tomorrow but I'll go when you go."
We pulled up to the bar and ran in. It wasn't freezing but it was cold in my current outfit. Once we made our way in, I spotted the boys and pulled Princeton towards them.
"Kid! You made it!" Tyler yelled over the music, pulling me into a hug. "You're freezing. Here." He said, taking his suit jacket and wrapping it over my arms.
"Thanks, Ty. Princeton, this is Tyler, Tyler, Princeton."
"Nice to meet you man," Tyler said, holding his hand out.
"Yeah," Princeton said, ignoring Tyler's outstretched hand and instead, wrapping his hand around my waist.
"Well, I'll introduce you to the rest of the boys." I said, mouthing 'I'm sorry' to Tyler. Once all the introductions were over, Princeton offered to get us drinks. Tyler sat next to me as soon as Princeton made his way to the bar.
"What a jerk."
"Ty, he had a long day at work. Give him another chance. Please? For me?" I said, using my best puppy dog eyes.
"Fine. But he should have at least shook my hand." He joked, nudging me on the arm.
"Here you go, hun," Princeton said, setting down my drink beside me.
"Thanks, babe." I smiled, taking a sip. Instead of it being my favourite, it was something else, something strong. As a reflex, I made a face, not expecting what was actually in the glass.
"Everything all right?" Princeton asked, sitting in on the other side of me.
"Yeah. I just haven't had anything to drink in a while." I smiled, leaning into his chest.
I slowly finished my glass and threw my two cents into the conversation every now and then. Princeton was quiet the whole time but kept his hand on me in one way or another. With an empty glass and a few empty beer bottles, Tyler was next to get the drinks. He came back with a tray full of more beer and one glass, placing it in front of me.
"Here you go, kid."
"Thanks, Ty..." I chuckled, taking a sip and letting it run down my throat. This one went much better and once I had it down, I became more lively and began to actually enjoy the night again. That soon came crashing down as I felt Princeton squeeze my shoulder.
"We should go." He whispered, sliding out of his chair. I nodded, getting out of my chair and turning back to the table.
"I'll see you guys later," I called, waving at everyone. I went to take off Tyler's jacket but felt a hand on my shoulder.
"Keep it. I'll get it later. Stay warm."
"Thanks, Seguin," I whispered, giving him a side hug. "Good game."
~
The next day, I was over at Tyler's place on the floor with the dogs as he was making coffee.
"I knew it. He's a douche."
"Tyler."
"He didn't realize you were freezing when you first walked in, didn't know your drink order, and made you leave as soon as you were having fun. And, may I reiterate, his name is Princeton."
"Tyler, I told him to let me know when he wanted to leave."
"And you're making excuses for him... again." He pointed out, passing me a mug. "Just admit that he sucks, break up with him, and then we can move on."
"You are literally the worst friend in the world," I said, getting up. "Tyler, I'm happy. Why can't you see that?"
"Because that's not how a relationship should be kid!"
"And I should be taking relationship advice from you? A man who hasn't been in a serious relationship since I met you?"
"God, you really can be an idiot at times." He laughed, sitting at the island.
"Great. Well, I should go." I sighed, checking the time.
"What? Oh, come on. Don't do this."
"Do what? I told Princeton I was going to meet him for lunch so I need to go. I'll talk with you later." I scoffed, walking out. I knew this fight wasn't going to last. We couldn't be mad at each other for more than a few days. This time, however, I would need more than a few days to cool off.
~
Princeton and I's first year anniversary came faster than I thought but we weren't going to be spending it together. He had a work trip set up but had sent me flowers that morning. As disappointed as I felt, I couldn't dwell on it too long. For the rest of the day, I spent time alone but had promised Tyler a dinner. We hadn't seen each other in a while, with him busy with hockey and me with work. I made a quick stop at the grocery store before making my way to his house.
"Good evening." Tyler smiled, leaning on the door frame as he opened the door for me.
"Hey, Ty. You gonna let me in or are you just going to stand there looking like a GQ model?"
"You think I look like a GQ model?" He laughed, stepping aside.
"Don't let it get to your head. I brought stuff to make pizza."
"This is why you're my favourite."
"I beat out Jamie?" I smiled, setting all the bags up on the kitchen island.
"Don't let it get to your head kid." He laughed, helping me unpack. Tyler helped me around the kitchen but let me take charge.
"Do you want to watch a movie?"
"Or we could go sit by the fire? We haven't just talked in a while." He suggested, pouring us both some wine.
"That sounds really nice." I chuckled, taking the pizza out of the oven. "Thank you for tonight. I've missed this."
"You know you are welcome anytime. Not just when I'm not here." He laughed, silently thanking me for taking care of the dogs while he is away.
"I'll keep that in mind." I chuckled, picking up both pizzas and following him out onto the patio. We placed everything down and started the fire pit. I went to grab a few blankets as he went to grab some cushions.
"So, where's Princeton?" Tyler asked as he set the cushions down.
"He's on a work trip. He didn't want to go today of all days but-" I stopped realizing what I just said.
"What's so important about today?"
"Well. It's our one-year anniversary." I said, knowing he would see right through any lie I tried. "And before you say anything, I know."
"I'm sorry."
"It's okay. We're planning on getting dinner when he's back."
"That's nice. Is he taking you somewhere nice?"
"I think so. He's keeping it a surprise." I smiled, lifting the wine glass to my lips. "Enough about him. How have you been?"
We spent the rest of the night outside, finishing off the bottle of wine and both pizzas. It was nice to just sit together, talking about whatever came to mind.
"We need to do this more often," I whispered as Tyler was helping me back into the house and towards his guest room. I was definitely feeling that wine and knew I would regret it in the morning.
"And we will. But right now, you should get some sleep."
"Thank you, Ty. For everything." He tucked me into the bed, placing a kiss on my forehead.
"Good night."
~
A few weeks later, Jamie and I were over at Tyler's place. Empty take-out containers were littering the coffee table and there was music playing over the stereo. Tyler had just gone to the bathroom, leaving Jamie and me alone.
"So?" He started, keeping his voice low.
"So?"
"How's Princeton? You two still together?"
"God, you're starting to sound like Tyler."
"What's that supposed to mean?" He asked, sliding closer to me.
"Tyler has never liked any of the people I was with but for some reason, he really hates Princeton."
"Cause he likes you."
"What?" I whispered, my stomach twisting.
"Oh come on. We both know you're not that oblivious."
"There's no way. He keeps calling me kid."
"Okay, maybe you are." Before I could have my rebuttal, Tyler walked in, a pair of sweatpants in hand.
"Maybe you're what?" He asked, throwing the pants on my lap.
"Nothing," Jamie answered, a shit-eating grin taking over his face.
"You guys are fucking weird."
~
For our second year anniversary, I decided to surprise Princeton. He had been extremely busy with work and I had a feeling that he would forget. I went shopping for a new dress, picked up our favourite take out and made my way to his apartment. When I finally arrived, I smoothed out my dress before getting to the door. I grabbed the key from under the mat and walked in.
"Princeton?" I called, not seeing him anywhere. "Prince?"
I set the food down onto the island and walked over to the couch, sitting on the couch. As I grabbed my phone to text him, I heard something from further into the apartment. I slowly walked down the hall and started hearing some more questionable sounds. Everything broke when I heard another woman moaning Princeton's name. Just like that, I froze. I finally came back to when I heard footsteps in the bedroom. I ran back to the front door and back to my car. I was able to drive away and got to a park before I broke down. I grabbed my phone and quickly called Tyler, not thinking straight at that point.
"Hello?" He yelled, some loud music in the background of his call.
"Ty." I squeaked out, hoping I would be able to keep it together.
"Hey, kid. You okay?"
"Yeah. I just, it's been a long day." I wiped away some tears, laying back in my seat remembering that conversation we had when I first told Tyler of Princeton. "Are you busy? I should let you go. I'm sorry."
"I have a few people over but we're not doing anything crazy. Do you want me to come over?"
"No, it's okay. I uh, I um." I started, feeling my throat starting to close up. "I'll talk to you tomorrow," I whispered, hanging up quickly.
Throwing my phone onto the seat next to me, I covered my face with my hands and just let it out. I was able to recover fairly quickly and safely made it home. I ripped off my dress, took off my makeup and put on some sweats and a t-shirt, falling back on my couch. I laid there for a while before feeling the hunger taking over. I got up to grab the takeout I got but quickly realized I had left it at Princeton's place. Shaking my head, I ordered something else and returned to the couch. About 20 minutes later, there was a knock on the door. I got up and opened the door to see Tyler standing there with a grocery bag in hand.
"What are you doing here?" I asked, shocked to see him.
"You said you had a long day so I brought some of your favourite food. Can I come in?"
"Uh yeah," I said, taking a step aside. "I uh, ordered some food in. There should be enough if you want some."
"Sounds good." He smiled, pulling me back to the living room. "So, you want to watch a movie?"
"Ty..."
"Nope. We're not going there. We're going to have a relaxing night tonight." He placed his hand on my knee, squeezing it slightly. "We could watch the Hurricanes game? We play them next."
"Sure"
"Okay. Here." He said, passing me some chips from the grocery bag. He grabbed the remote and put the game on. He put the remote back on the coffee table and laid back. Only a few minutes later, there was another knock on the door. "I got it."
"My cards on the table," I called, leaning back to watch him.
He came back and passed me my dinner. We both ate in silence, the game on in the background. When we finished, I threw everything out and sat back next to Tyler. As the night went on I got closer and closer to him, finally laying my head on his shoulder. Before the third period even started, I had fallen asleep.
When I woke up the next morning, I found myself wrapped in Tyler's arms. I slipped out of his hold and made my way to the kitchen. I made both Tyler and me some coffee and went back to the living room to see Tyler finally sitting up.
"Morning." I smiled, passing him a mug.
"Good morning. How did you sleep?"
"Pretty good. How about you?"
"Really well. Probably the best sleep I've had in a while." He laughed, hiding a smile behind his mug.
"Do you want some breakfast?" I asked, going to get up. Before I could, Tyler grabbed my wrist, pulling me back.
"Before that, do you want to talk about last night?"
"Yeah, sure." I sighed, getting comfortable.
"Y/N, you called me crying. I know you and I also know what last night was. What happened?"
"Ty, I'm not doing this," I whispered, getting up.
"What do you mean?"
"You um, you told me not to come to you when it all went wrong so..."
"Oh, kid." He sighed, pulling me into his chest. I took a breath but quickly fell apart. We sat there for a while, Tyler rubbing my back as I cried.
"I'm sorry Ty."
"Don't apologize. I'm sure it's not your fault."
"I don't know. Maybe it is?" I said, sitting up and wiping the tears from my eyes.
"Oh, kid. He didn't." He sighed, pulling me into his chest again. "I'm gonna kill him."
"Ty."
"I'm not actually going to do it." He laughed, rubbing my back again. I started laughing as well but stopped when I heard my phone ring. "Is that him?"
"I think so." I sighed, picking my phone up from the coffee table. I checked the name before showing it to Tyler.
"Are you going to answer it?"
"I'm going to have to. I didn't last night so I have to break up with him somehow."
"Do you want me to stay here?" I nodded before picking up the phone and putting it on speaker.
"Hello?"
"Hey, babe. Did you bring some takeout to my place last night?" He asked a little bit of guilt in his voice.
"Uh yeah. I just assumed you were working last night so I thought I'd bring you some dinner." I said, feeling the anger bubbling in my body.
"That's so kind of you. Yeah, I was super busy last night. You should have come to see me, hun. I was just in my office."
"Huh. I thought I heard you in your bedroom. It sounded like you had company so I just left the food there for you."
"Oh."
"Yeah. What were you doing in there?" I asked looking up at Tyler, wondering how Princeton was going to try and dig himself out of this.
"My buddy recommended a tv show so I was checking it out..." He slowly said, not believing his own story.
"How long?"
"What?" He whispered out.
"How long have you been cheating on me?" I whispered, feeling Tyler grab my hand.
"Baby. Come on..."
"Princeton. I deserve to know."
"A year." He choked out, taking my breath away.
"Okay. Um, have a good life Princeton." I looked up at Tyler and hung up. "I can't, I."
"C'mere kid." He said, pulling me onto his lap. I spent the next almost 10 minutes bawling my eyes out. Eventually, I was out of tears and was drained of energy.
"I should have listened to you," I whispered, slipping my sleeves over my hands.
"Oh, kid. You know I don't like any of the people you date. Even the good ones. There's no way you could have known."
"But I should have," I said, sitting up. "Ty?"
"Yeah?"
"Do you like me?"
"Of course I like you. More than Jamie, you know that."
"Tyler..." I whispered, placing my hand on his arm.
"Kid..."
"You do." I smiled, looking down for a minute. "That's why you never like anyone I date."
"Kid, you just found out your boyfriend was cheating on you for a year."
"And I know I'm in no shape to start a new relationship but if I was going to, it'd be you."
"What?" He choked out, wide-eyed.
"Ty, you have always been there for me. You were a much better boyfriend than Princeton could have ever been. You were with me on both of my anniversaries."
"So you would go out on a date with me if I asked?"
"In a heartbeat. I just need some time."
"Of course. I can wait." He smiled, grabbing my hand. "Oh, by the way. Can I get you saying you should listen to me in writing? Or I could record it."
"Shut up."
"Anything for you kid."

•••
You scoffed and shook your head in disbelief. "I can't come?" You exclaimed.
Your older brother, Jamie, shook his head and dropped it into his hand in frustration.
"I'm only twenty-three, Jamie, and you act like I'm a baby but I'm not! When are you going to realize that I'm not the girl you once knew when we were young!" You yelled at him and ran to your bedroom as you slammed the door.
You sank in your bed and groaned out in frustration. You were only in your twenties and just wanted to go out. But you couldn't due to your stupid brothers.
As you wanted to sob, you kept it in and kept remembering the happy memories instead of the sad ones so you wouldn't cry and try to prove your brothers wrong.
The only reason why that you didn't want to talk about your brother is that he wouldn't take you to the club he was going with his friends.
Of course, your other brother agreed with him. They would never agree with you even though they knew that you were right sometimes.
You were tired by the brothers that you had. They both played in the NHL and you hated every single thing about them because they're too overprotective.
You thought it was stupid.
You rolled your eyes and let out a sigh of disbelief. Then, you heard a knock on the door and that made you deepened into the pillow that was on top of your face.
"You're coming. But if I see you with any of the boys, I'm taking you home immediately." He said quickly.
As soon as he said that, you jumped out of your bed and showed him your huge smile as you hugged him.
"Thank you so much!" You pulled away. "I was this close to slapping across your face." You were serious but Jamie thought it was a joke until he stopped laughing as he widened his eyes.
"Ok, ok. Get ready. We're leaving soon." He told you and left without giving you a chance to talk back but he knew you didn't have to.
You smiled brightly and put your hair into a messy ponytail. You didn't have to wear makeup, you practically hated it. Then, you grabbed an outfit from your closet and put it on quickly.
Heading out of your room, you walked towards your older brother and caught his attention.
"That was fast." He mumbled and got his car keys. You chuckled and placed your arms together as you followed him.
Then, as you guys headed outside and closed the front door, Jamie beeped his car and you hopped in with excitement.
"Don't—"
"Flirt with any of your guys or else we're going home early. Yeah, I know. I'm not dumb." You remembered the words that Jamie said often as you rolled your eyes and looked at the side window.
"Good. Hope that got into your mind." he rolled his eyes and lightly clenched his hand over the wheel tightly.
Then, a memory hit you as you scoffed loudly. "Why haven't I done anything to you when you broke Bailey's heart?" You asked him and he raised his eyebrow in response.
"This has nothing to do with this. But she's the one who cheated on me, Y/N." he stated and you let out a sharp sigh that came out of your chest. "Look, I can't have this same argument over and over again. You knew she cheated on me and you didn't tell me." He stopped the car at the red light and turned to you as he pointed his finger at you.
"I was going to! I was going to tell you on the first day when I found about it." You exclaimed. It was true. You never meant to hurt your older brother's feelings at all when you found out that your best friend was cheating on him.
He sighed and drove once it turned green. "Then, why didn't you tell me?" He asked you and gave you a small frown, darting his eyes back and forth to the road and you.
"I was scared!" You stammered and silence filled you two up as no words left Jamie's mouth. "I was scared, Jamie. I was scared of your reaction. I knew how you were going to react. That's why I didn't tell you..." you softly said and pursed your lips as you lowered down your gaze.
He then exhaled sharply and rubbed your shoulder. "I'm sorry, Y/N.
"No, it's my fault. I should've not brought it up, anyways." You shook your head and shrugged.
"Yeah, it kinda was." Jamie joked and you two laughed. Now, you were feeling a bit better than before and that was all your brother. He knew just to make you happy and energized.
Now you were, jumping in your seat with excitement as you guys made it to the nightclub.
Jamie parked the car and exited the car before bringing you close to him so you wouldn't be pulled away from him.
His protectiveness came back and it made you a little bit annoyed as you rolled your eyes, heading inside of the club.
As you did, you dropped your jaw nearly to the ground as you took a glance inside. But closed your mouth when you smelt and tasted the exotic smell across the room.
It was a mix of strong liquor and smoke all together and that made you almost want to gag. It was disgusting yet a weird mix to smell.
Just then, Jamie gently grabbed your hand and pulled you towards his team, introducing you as his sister but they already knew who you were.
"Hey, Y/N. So glad you came!" Miro Heiskanen said proudly as he hugged you sweetly and smiled. You returned it to him and patted his back once you guys pulled away.
"Hi, I haven't seen you in such a long time. It's crazy." You spoke and he nodded.
"Crazy how your brother is that protective of you." He stated and you chuckled.
You nodded. "I know. I actually begged him to go with him and he finally agreed." Miro widened his eyes and shook his head in disbelief.
"If he doesn't agree with you on something else, just slap him and get away with it so that he could understand what he's doing to you." He bumped your shoulder and you laughed out loud, realizing that he was serious.
You sobered up and bit the inside of your cheek hard. "Oh, you're not kidding." He shook his head and kept his stern look.
"I understand, Miro. But he's my brother. He's just protecting me. It happens." You stated and sighed.
Then, he nodded his head and bumped onto your shoulder once again before he excused himself.
Once you looked around for Jamie, you didn't see him so this was the right chance that you could order something for yourself.
Running to the bar, you didn't even realize how fast you were going until you bumped into someone.
"Ouch." You muttered and rubbed your forehead, locking eyes with someone you didn't expect or at least, you thought. "Tyler. Tyler, I am so sorry." You breathed out and swallowed hard.
"It's fine. Let me just get you a drink." He said and gave you his pretty smile that you adored eight years ago.
You had a huge crush on him ever since you searched him up when you were in teenage years and realized he was the teammate that your brother was with.
That, you didn't care about the rule that Jamie made with you when he found out about your crushes on hockey players.
But he didn't found out about Tyler and you thanked God every single day because you knew you would've been dead by now, knowing that Jamie would lose his balls.
"Wait, is Jamie here?" He paused and lightly touched your arm, feeling the sparkles crawl to your body from toe to head but you ignored it.
As you nodded. "Where do you think I came from?" You asked him with a chuckle and he laughed.
Damn, that was sexy.
You bit your lower lip as you tried to back the chuckle you wanted to let out. You sat beside him as you thought about him and yourself.
"So, how're you doing?" Tyler spoke out as he shook out of your thoughts.
You cleared your throat and swallowed harshly before responding to him.
"I'm good. Yeah, you?" You smiled with a chuckle.
He shrugged. "Nothing new. It's been a while since I've seen anything good." It was true.
You looked over to your shoulder and glanced at the people dancing and drinking. It was sweet. You smiled and brought your eyes towards Tyler.
"Would you like anything?" He then told me and you quickly shook your head.
"Nope, I'm good." You politely smiled at him and he nodded before he ordered his usual.
"Tyler, why did you want to buy me a drink?" You asked him as you slightly squinted your eyes at him.
He raised his eyebrow and cleared his throat. "Well, here's a thing. I like you. Really and it freaks me out that Jamie's your brother because I know that he's going to beat my ass off once he finds out. But I really like you, Y/N. So much." He rambled on quickly with his words and you heard him perfectly well.
You stammered. "Is this a joke?" He shook his head and gave you a smile of affection. "Oh my god, Tyler. I like you too! I've had a crush on you for a long time and it really frustrates me that you didn't even see it unt—"
"Until now. Well, I mean. I had a thing for you too. But that doesn't really care." He cut you off and you smiled brightly.
Then, without thinking a second thought, he cupped your cheek gently and looked directly into your eyes.
"Can I kiss you?" He whispered and you felt a tint on your cheek as you blushed. He chuckled and obviously noticed it until you nodded.
But you looked around and pursed your lips. "Um, here. Won't everyone see us?" You asked him and he softly chuckled, quickly grabbing your hand. Then, he pulled you between the hallways and pushed you against the wall.
Without a second thought, you two kissed and wrapped all arms around both bodies.
You felt him smile against the kiss as he wrapped his arm around your waist tightly to show you that he won't ever let you go after this.
This is all you've been wanting ever since and now he was yours.

🆒 When he started playing hockey, Seguin was a defenseman. 🆗 During his draft year, Seguin was linked to Taylor Hall in a 'Taylor vs. Tyler' debate, over which would be selected first. Despite Seguin being ranked No. 1 by NHL's Central Scouting, Hall went first in the 2010 draft to Edmonton. Seguin went second to Boston. 🆕 Seguin created "Seguin's Stars," which donates a suite at every home game to people with spinal cord injuries. He will regularly meet, take pictures with, and autograph memorabilia. His organization is partnered with the Southwest Wheelchair Athletic Association. #tylerseguin #dallasstars #hockeyhistory #puckoffhockey #themoreyouknow🌈 #hockeymemes #bennguin #jamiebenn #tendylife #funfacts #popularmemes https://www.instagram.com/p/B7pWGLcgcor/?igshid=rl9iqlc0ey88

Lost... (Tyler Seguin)
Sitting my parents old living room, looking at all of the pictures set across the room, really made everything that was happening, feel real. I stood up, walking around, taking a closer look at some of the pictures. Some of my mothers friends, our family, and her staff. I had moved back home as soon as I heard my mother was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s, leaving my whole life in Dallas behind me.
Leaving it behind, I thought would have been the hardest part, however, when I saw my mom for the first time, my heart dropped. She looked so different. When I walked into the house for the first time, she barely recognized me, asking if I was just another support worker. That was when they started with the pictures. Mainly family at that point.
As weeks past, she started getting up in the middle of the night, first, just wandering around the house, then it got scary. Walking out in the road, walking to other homes, trying to get in like it was her own. More and more locks were installed in the house, and more support was hired. I felt helpless. This woman had raised me, been there for me throughout everything.
I remember the first phone call her and I had when Tyler and I started dating. I felt like a teenage girl again by the way I had talked about him. When that phone call finally ended, I knew, he was the one for me, and by the way my mom talked about him, I knew she liked him too. She continuously complained about how she had yet to meet him. It was always hard with everyone's schedule, but when we were all finally free, Tyler and I were on a plane, on the way to my hometown. Little did I know, this was the beginning of the downfall.
When I heard movement coming from the back of the house, I knew she was finally awake. She had been waking up later and later everyday, so it became a guessing game on when she would wake up. Amelia, her day nurse, hopped up and made her way down the hall, letting me relax for just a bit more before I had to get up and do some work. I watched as Amelia walked down the hall towards me, my mother just in front of her, walking slowly. I smiled at them, getting up from the couch and making my way over to them, helping Amelia get my mom into her seat just by the window. I set myself up at the dining room table, just in eyesight of my mom. I opened my laptop and started on the extensive email list.
I had been staring at the screen for what felt like hours when I heard my mom start screaming. I jumped up, running towards her, trying to figure out what was wrong. I grabbed her hands, and tried to get her to look at me.
“Hey, hey. What’s wrong?” I asked when she finally looked at me.
“There’s... there’s... there’s someone out... out there.” She stuttered out, pointing towards the window where there was a black jeep sat in our driveway.
“I’ll go check it out, okay mom?” I said, standing up and making my way to the front door. I looked through the peephole to see Tyler stepping out of the drivers side with a bouquet of sunflowers in his hand. I slid on a pair of sneakers, opening the door and walked out, meeting him half way. “You’re a dick.” I said, opening my arms and pulling him into a hug.
“Is that any way to greet your boyfriend you haven’t seen in two months?” He said, taking a step back, leaning down to pull me into a kiss.
“I’m sorry. I’ve just been so stressed lately and I honestly... I’m just sorry.” I said, stepping towards him, pulling him into a hug again, hiding my face in his chest.
“It’s okay. I’m not going to stand here and pretend to know what you’re going through, and I’m sorry I couldn’t have been here for you, but I’m here now and I promise, I’ll be here for you.” When we separated again, I leaned up, kissing him again and pulling him into the house. We walked to the kitchen, putting the sunflowers into a vase and setting them up on the pass through between the kitchen and dining room. We made our way to the dining room, sitting on opposite sides of the table as I continued some more work, Tyler just staring at me.
“I always knew you were perfect for each other.” We heard my mom say from her seat not too far from us.
“Mom?” I asked, in an almost whisper. I got up and walked towards her, crouching down in front of her again. I could hear Tyler walking over to us, crouching down behind me and placing his hands on my shoulders.
“Look at the two of you. You remind me of your father and I. God we were in love.” She said, sitting back looking outside again. “Who’s car is that?” She asked, looking back at us. I tried to keep the tears at bay, leaning my head on her knee.
Tyler grabbed my hand and pulled me up, walking me towards the bedroom I’ve become way too accustomed to. He sat me down on the bed, joining me soon after and we just layed together.
“How long has it been like this?” He asked, pulling me into his chest.
“I got the call about a month before I came here. Needed that time to... get everything in place to actually come here. It’s just been so hard... I’ve felt completely lost ever since I’ve gotten here. I mean, there’s not exactly a handbook for something like this.” I said, as he held me even closer as I finished talking.
“Well, I’m going to be here with you through this, so I’m hoping that’ll help a little.” He said, pulling me up and kissing me. Before we could get too far, I heard my mom scream again. I hopped off the bed and ran down to the living room, seeing my mom looking out the window, pointing outside again.
“Mom, mom. That’s Tyler’s car. He came to visit us. That’s his car.” I grabbed her hand, pulling it down to her lap as I moved my thumb up and down the back of her hand, calming her down. Tyler soon came over, kneeling down again and rubbing my shoulders.
“Tyler? When did you get here? Oh God, you two remind me of your father and I. He’s a keeper hun.” She said, placing her hand on my shoulder over Tyler’s and squeezed slightly.
Looking back, that’s how I remember my mom, happy for both Tyler and I. I hadn’t been back home since she’s past, but I’m incredibly grateful that Tyler and I are still together, and that my mom was able to give him the okay... God he made me happy, and I know my mom is looking down at us smiling.

Tyler Seguin- Dog Mom
Tyler buys another dog, using the new baby to ask you an important question
Ok this is my first Imagine posted on Tumblr so please be kind! I have a few others written that I may post as well!
"Tyler?" You called into the house, let yourself in with the key your boyfriend had given you.
"Hi baby," you heard him call from the media room. You dropped your bag onto the kitchen counter and took fo your shoes before heading to join him.
"Hi baby boys," you cooed to Marshall and Cash as they came running as they heard you get closer. The dogs followed you to the media room where they both headed back to their beds as you walked over to join Tyler on the couch. "Hey babe," You leaned over to kiss him as you went to cuddle into his side.
"Hi," he greeted, looking away from his laptop to you. "How was work?"
"It was fine," you reached for some of the carrots and hummus he had sitting on the coffee table. "We picked up that new client so that's good."
"I knew they would choose you guys," the boy winked at you before turning back to his laptop.
"What are you looking at?" You asked as you peeked over his shoulder, laughing when you saw the Dallas animal shelter's adoption page open. "Oh my gosh, Ty."
"What! Marshall is getting too old to keep up with Cash, so I think we need another one," Tyler defended as you laughed at him.
"Well, I'm just saying I am not cleaning up pee while you try to house train," you leaned over to grab the TV remote, ignoring Tyler's pout as he went back to his dog search.
*
You forgot about all the talk of the new puppy until a few weeks later. You and Tyler were having a casual date night at his house, you cooking dinner for the both of you and hopefully cuddling with some wine afterward.
You were halfway through the baked chicken you had made when he brought it up. "So I got you something," Tyler said with a smile as he stood from his chair.
"Ty no," you groaned. Your boyfriend constantly spoiled you and sometimes you felt bad that he somehow always had some little gift for you.
"No you'll love it," he grinned as he went to leave the room. "Just wait here." You sighed heavily and took another bite of your mashed potatoes, flicking your eyes to the door Tyler had left through as you heard his steps come back towards you.
You were shocked when a beautiful little golden lab pup walked through the door ahead of your giddy boyfriend. "Oh my god hi," you cooed as you slipped from your chair and plopped on the ground as the puppy bounded over to you, immediately attacking you with kisses. "Tyler what is his name, oh my goodness."
"His name is Gerry," Tyler said as he came to sit by the two of you on the floor. "Look at his collar babe."
Your breath caught as you turned Gerry's collar around and began to read the tag. 'Mommy, will you move in with Daddy?'
"Oh Ty, yes," You giggled as Gerry batted at the tassels on your dress.
"Gonna be the dog mom to my dogs?" Tyler teased as he nuzzled his head into the crook of your neck and you began to card your fingers through his hair.
"Yeah," you giggled. "Always wanted to be a dog mom."
"Maybe a real mom someday too," Tyler whispered softly, just enough for you to hear.
"Gotta give me your last name first baby," you smiled gently at him as he met your loving gaze.
"Do you want another dog for that step in our relationship too?" He said with a bit of teasing in his tone.
"No," you shook your head. "Maybe a succulent or something that won't pee on our carpet."

CHAPTER ONE.
It was a very busy night in Dallas. The Stars are beating the Nashville Predators to enter the second round of the Stanley cup and I’m entering on my fourth hour of tattooing this big master piece on the back on my client. I’ve enjoyed every single minute with client who didn’t even move and not even a single complaint came out of my client mouth. The thing that I’ve enjoyed the most with him is all the stories that he was telling me. It’s nice to have this connection with a client and feel that the trust is there at 100%. It’s we known each other since ever and sometimes, it’s like he really knows me. A lot of memories are coming back with his stories and at some point, I wanted to let out some tears out because just like him, family is very important. I’ve gave up on so many people when I decided to go on my own way and try to found out who I really am. When I started to shadow around in tattoo shops, I’ve never in life knew that being a tattoo artist would’ve been my future. It’s not easy to found success when you constantly moving around. To be honest, I didn’t know in what I was going into. The fear of being homeless and always feel of regretting those bad choices was always a nightmare. I eventually found my way and got back on track with a mentor who found me on Instagram. Social media was my only hope. Posting new content everyday so I’d make sure that people are getting my attention, it was exhausting. I’m grateful to work for my mentor. Learning from him was all the stars in the sky. It was a blessing and a life saver for me. I even can’t believe that I also won on Ink Master last year. Seeing my face on the cover of Ink Magazine was like a rush in my veins. It was like I was hit by lightning. There’s so many positive things who is coming in my way and all of that makes me happy.
I was almost at the end of the session. It’s a good thing we are closing late because even if we started early, I wanted to make sure that this master piece has all the right detail in it to impress who ever will notice this massive back tattoo. I’ve always love the Greek mythology, the Egyptians and my favorite of all are the Vikings. My origins are from Russia with my great grandfather who ran from the World War II. My grandmother always had a pleasure to tell us stories about him and sometimes she will speak Russian just for us to feel how important it was for us to know where we come from. I’ve learn to speak this foreign language with her teachings. I was pretty much the only one in the family who had the determination to learn Russian and the people around me are surprise to hear that actually. I think it’s important to speak more than one or 2 languages because now a days, everything we know is needed to save our asses. I miss my grandmother very much. In a few weeks I will surprise her for her birthday and I just wish that she will be happy to see me. I know that I being here in Dallas didn’t quite make my family happy and especially my friends, but I was not happy where I was. I was not being myself what so ever and also starting to be very depress. The only person who understood that was my best friend Lindsay. We know each other since were in kinder garden and we are pretty much like sisters. Nothing can pull us a part and even if I’m not in Ottawa anymore, we always found a way to see each other and spend some good quality time with one another and the fact that no one know that I’m coming for my grandmother 80th birthday, that’s will be very special.
I led back on my chair and looked at this amazing tattoo that I’ve spend almost 2 weeks to make. My client didn’t wanted to have anyone else then me to work on that project. I was very happy to see how good this tattoo was and I’ve took numerous pictures of it after cleaning the excess of blood on his back. Seeing the joy and the excitement of client was my biggest reword of all, but what surprised me the most was how generous he was. I was almost speechless to see all the money he gave me for my work. I didn’t even realize that he gave me is phone number under 2 100 dollar bills. This guy is the most unpredictable and he always has something different every single day. I might call him cuz’ he’s kinda cute, but he’s a little bit too much and what I mean by too much is that he looks like a douche bag. I kept that thought for me because I don’t wanna desrecptful in regards my clients. I some tattoo artist who doesn’t give a shit sometimes and that’s just too much for me to handle when I’m hearing them swearing against the clients and sometimes for them sky is the limit and I will never tolerate bullies. I wrap up my client to make sure that he doesn’t get stuck on is shirt. I almost went through the half of my Vaseline jar with that back tattoo. I got surprise with a little kiss on my cheek before he when out of the tattoo shop. This job will always surprise me.
I was finally out of the shop. I set up the alarm so we don’t have any surprises in the middle of night and I decide to go take a drink at the bar to relax a little. I’m not a drinker, but a beer doesn’t hurt once in a while. I went home to change first. My apartment was at 5 minutes max from the shop and this place was perfect for me. I enjoy those big windows who brings the natural lights inside. I enjoy the high ceilings who make the place bigger and I also love the fact that it’s a big open space who regroups my living room, my kitchen and dining room. The only rooms who are closed are my bedroom and my bathroom, but other than that, everything is great here. I took a quick shower and change clothes before I when out. I was wearing a long black shirt with high white socks with 2 black strips on the top with Vans shoes on feet. The stop at the half of my thigh so everyone can see my big tattoo on my right thigh. I put my hair in a big flashy red pony tail and added just a bit of makeup to not look to zombie. I decided to go to the most popular bar downtown in Dallas where usually we can see big popular names hanging around there. I’ve been twice to this bar and there’s a very good vibe over there. The music and liquor is quite good so it’s a must to go hangout there. I took a Uber to go to the bar. I need to be at least responsible for myself and not being a stupid brat and make an accident. I gave him a good tip before I went in the bar. It was crowded with so many people and I heard that the Dallas Stars are supposed to come by tonight for a little party. I wanted to take only one drink and leave, but I think I will stay for a little bit longer and have some fun.
I’ve stop counting all the drinks I had received over the past 15 minutes and I needed to refuse some of them because I didn’t wanted to be wasted if by any chance I met a celebrity or a hockey player. I’ve probably hurt somebodies feelings by rejection, but to be honest I needed to say NO. Some people doesn’t take NO for an answer but hey, I’m not interested to have childish people around me in a grown ass man body. I order a Perrier water battle to change a little bit. That will also help with my headache who is slowly starting to take effect on me, but it’s not this annoying little pressure on my forehead who will stop me to have some fun. I was surprise to see my boss here tonight. I caught his eye at the end of the bar with a girl who was totally on to him. He notice me with a little smirk on is lips and I roll my eyes while shaking my head with a smile on my face. Well damn, he is such a womanizer and I hope his wife is not around tonight. Farrah is a real pain in the ass to be honest. When I started to work with Alain, she was pretty much accusing me of pushing her away from her husband. Since I told her what I was really thinking about her behavior, now she totally respect’s me and also respect’s the engagement I have with Alain in our work space environment. I still think that she’s a lot to handle tho’ but I think with good communication and respect, we can work something out without a cat fight. The crowd started to be more agitated. The arrival of the Dallas Stars with the cheers of the crowd broth an enormous vibe of good energy here and it was nice to see how everyone cares about that team. My heart will always be with the Ottawa Senators, but it’s awesome to see this wave of love for them. I’ve joined the crowd and cheer with them to encourage the team. This night will be promising and with the awesome job I did at the shop earlier, I think I will spoil myself tonight.
