A TASTE OF YOU – Tyler Galpin x Vampire!reader
SUMMARY – You accidentally bite Tyler.
Tumblr media
Wednesday ordered both of you to stay in your dorm until she and Enid were back, and you and Tyler were following her orders extremely well because none of you felt the need to be around anyone else or be in any other place when you were together.
The first time you met Tyler you would have sworn you had never seen anyone as beautiful as him. His caramel hair and his green eyes shone under the dim lights of the coffee shop where he worked, and when he saw you entering the shop along with Wednesday and Enid, with your red eyes shining so brightly and hypnotizing him, he would have sworn that you were an angel. Nothing could be further from the truth.
Tyler at first seemed like something you couldn't afford, you couldn't even be in the same room as him without all the muscles in your body tensing and that lump of fear of not being able to control yourself forming in your throat. Tyler smelled so good. You've never wanted anything more than a taste of Tyler. You wished you didn't think of him in that way, and you felt so bad at first for having those thoughts but it was your nature, you couldn't help it. His smell was so intense and strong to you that when he was around, you couldn't even perceive the smell of coffee nor the smell of the people in the cafeteria either, only his.
Then you started spending more time together and you got used to his intoxicating scent, to his long and tempting neck, to the thick veins running down his hands, and he got used to your cold skin every time he would put his on top of yours, to the way you liked your coffee, and to make sure that your favorite table was free every time you visited him, the farthest away from people and windows.
In an act of courage, you invited him to the dance. He looked amazing in his white suit and he couldn't stop complimenting you and how beautiful you looked in your white dress. His face was so close to yours while you danced that you could even feel your breaths mixing until the moment was ruined and you both ended up soaked in fake blood.
Enid and Wednesday kept their curious eyes on both of you all night, and you internally blamed both of them for being so gossipy about Tyler not kissing you that night, but you kept saying to them that everything was fine between you and him and that it wouldn't have happened anyways because you and he were just friends.
Now he was sitting on your bed, with his back against the wall and one of your scrapbooks on his legs, waiting for you to finish your essay while he checked all of your memories glued to a notebook. This moment brought so much peace to both of you and it made you feel good that you could be in the same room in silence and it didn't feel awkward at all, but you couldn't help but think about the way he was leaving his scent in your bedsheets. Not only there but all of your dorm smelled like him.
—And... I'm done —. You announced to him.
Tyler raised his eyes from your album to look at you while you closed your books and laptop. In fact, he had been looking at you for a really long time, but every time you turned around to see what he was doing or if he was bored, he acted as if he wasn't paying attention to you.
He watched you all the time, even when you thought he wasn't: the first time he saw you no one else seemed to exist in his eyes. He was looking at you through the store window in Jericho looking for the perfect dress with Enid. Then Wednesday appeared by his side all of sudden, and she almost gave him a heart attack. She told him how creepy he was being by stalking you and not going inside and talk you. He was looking at you dancing with your friends and having fun at the dance while he went to refill his cup, and he was looking at you at that time as well, focusing on your homework and biting your lower lip.
You sat in front of Tyler to see what part of your scrapbook he was looking at. —Oh that's when me and my family travelled to Transylvania.
Tyler kept turning the pages and listening closely to everything that you told him about your travels, your family, your friends. He also asked you a lot of question only so you could keep talking. Until he got to the page where you glued a sugar sachet from the Weathervane cafe and a piece of a napkin with the name of the cafe. You wrote the date and a "T" in the corner of the page. The letter was small, barely visible, but Tyler was quick to notice and couldn't help but smile while looking at the page.
—It is from the first day I went to Jericho —. You tried to explain. It was obvious that he noticed that that page was his.
Tyler nodded. The smirk remained on his lips as you tried to justify yourself. —That's all that happened that day?
—That's all I remember —. You teased him.
—Oh, that's all you remember? —Tyler asked, closing your scrapbook while subtly leaning towards you. You nodded, swallowing nervously for having him so close.
Your breaths mixed, just like the day of the dance, but this time Tyler was not going to back off. Duringt those seconds of silence Tyler's eyes took their time to stare at your lips, and then his eyes tried to meet yours but your eyes were focused on his lips. So pink and cute. Tyler's scent took over your entire body, and that was the hardest exercise of self-control you had ever had to make. Your gums hurt from holding your fangs, you were trying so hard to not let them out and ruin the moment.
He called your name. You hummed, letting him know that he got your attention. —Can I kiss you?
You nodded to his question, closing your eyes, and inhaling Tyler's scent. He licked his lips before he leaned towards you and connected his lips with yours. He did it carefuly. Tyler's lips were soft and warm, and they moved smoothly with yours. You let out a sigh against his lips, and what you tried to prevent, inevitably happened. Your fangs came out when you were sucking on his lower lip and your sharp teeth sunk into his skin. Immediately after, he hissed and broke the kiss, bringing his fingers to his lip, and discovering the blood coming out of them.
—Tyler, I'm so sorry —. You were beyond embarrassed. Not only did you hurt him but now the smell of his blood was making your irises turn into an intense red. Your eyes were locked on the blood running down his fingertips, and the beautiful red color of it, feeling your fangs grow bigger and your throat go dry. You looked away as soon as you realized how creepy that was probably being. —I'll go and get you some paper.
—No. It's– It's okay. Look, I'm fine. Nothing happened —. He quickly licked the blood off his lips, not giving it much importance so you wouldn't give it either and as if he had not realized the reaction that what just happened had had on you, he kissed you again.
Your eyes opened wide while Tyler kissed you. His mouth tasted like blood. But not any blood. His blood. And it was as sweet as you imagined it to be. The little wounds on his lower lip were still bleeding a little bit, the blood coming out of them going directly into your mouth and making you tense your back. Tyler thought that you were just nervous so he moved one of his hands to cup one of your cheeks in an attempt to reassure you. You shouldn't be enjoying this, but you would be lying if you said you had never imagined what this moment would feel like. The warmth of his touch made you come back to reality and realize that you weren't kissing him back. You closed your eyes and your hand went to the back of his head to deepen the kiss.
Your lips focused on his lower one which Tyler appeared to enjoy because of the way, he hummed in your mouth. Your hand was deep inside the curls at the back of his head, pulling him closer if possible, and both of his hands were on your cheeks.
—Ew —. Wednesday said. —I'd rather have needles under my fingernails for the rest of my painful existence than have to watch this again.
—Oh, come on... —Enid nudged Wednesday. —You guys are so cute!
By the time your friends interrupted you two, you made sure that no sign of blood was left on his lips or yours. Your two friends entered your shared dorm and approached you and Tyler to explain what they had found out. You got up from your bed and let them know that you needed to use the bathroom.
Even though your cheeks were cold, you had that human sensation of them burning after your kiss with Tyler. Looking at yourself in the mirror, you noticed the bloodstain on your cheek. When Tyler cupped your cheeks, he still had blood on his fingers after wiping it from his lips and now it was all over your cheek. You knew it was bad, you knew that you shouldn't do it, but you couldn't waste such a delicacy. You licked the tip of your thumb and ran it over your cheek, collecting his blood and then you sucked on your finger.
You loved everything about Tyler.

Request: Tyler Galpin x fem!reader
Plot: Tyler introducing reader to his dad (most likely at their house) when she helps Tyler study until his dad comes home. Oooh, and if earlier that day, reader ran into Sheriff Galpin at The Weathervane (Tyler hadn’t started his shift, and R realized who was standing behind her in line-maybe he overheard a conversation she was having that was awkward for him to listen to or maybe she trips on his foot and they start a conversation and it goes well or bad? But he doesn’t realize who he’s met until she’s at the table with his son
(sorry that this is so longg)
Hi sorry this is short, but I think it is cuter this way... love to you all
WARNINGS: awkward reader, spilled coffee (a crime to be sure), fem!reader
Tumblr media
"I had the worst day ever" I proclaim to Tyler as I flop down on his couch while he studies for a end of term test that was coming up and I was supposed to help him.
"What happened, sweets?" He asked me, keeping half a mind on me and my antics.
"So... I went to your coffee shop-"
"It's not my coffee shop, I just work there." He interrupted me. Rudely might I add.
"- Don't interrupt me. As I was saying, I was at your coffee shop." a heavy sigh sounded in the room, interrupting my rambling once again, and I shot him a glare before continuing my story. "And I was simply waiting in line to get my order, which wasn't as good as yours by the way." A light chuckle sounded before he quieted again. "Yeah. So I was simply waiting in line, listening to my music and minding my own business, when this guy bumped into me. He was a cop, mind you, and holding a big cup of coffee. So he bumps into me and he spills all of his coffee on my shirt. My good, lucky shirt. Either way he apologized, but it was very half-assed, like he didn't mean it. He barely spared me a glance. Like who does that? Were are your manners mister? You are the law, you should be leading by example. But no, you had to be an asshole."
"Was he by any chance wearing a cowboy like hat?"
"Yeah, how did you know? Has he been a nightmare to you too?"
"Kind of. He is about to be here."
"What? Why? Why would he be-?"
The sound of the door opening, it's hinges creeking heavily and soft sound of keys rattling filled the room, making her voice dissappear and stop mid-sentence. "Hey, Ty. How was your day?" Her horrified face, made him burst out laughing, desperately gasping for air. This was golden. The two most important people in his world, had the most horrible first encounter, at least on her side.
"Hey dad. I want you to meet someone." Her eyes were as round as saucers, she looked like a deer caught in headlights. And he softly smiled at her, giving her a slight push at the small of her back. "Dad this is the girl you, apparently, soiled her shirt with coffee this morning. She also happens to be my girlfriend. Honey, meet my dad, Sheriff Galpin."

Tyler reacts to y/n on her period.
TW: Slightly detailed mentions of periods.
Slight NSFW warning: Mentions of male reproductive organs and sexual arousal
-BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP-
Y/n’s alarm rang.
“Uuhhhhhhhhhhhhhgh.” She moaned, turning over to stop the alarm. 7:50, the clock read. Reluctantly, y/n threw the covers off her and scooted to the edge of the bed. When she sat up, a stabbing pain went through her abdomen. Y/n whimpered loudly.
“Oh god.” She mumbled. Bracing herself, she rose from the bed, legs together in a desperate attempt to stop the blood from flowing into her pajama pants. Inevitably, when she stood up she felt the blood rush out of her, into her underwear, and undoubtedly into her pants. She waddled across the room and into the bathroom and sat on the toilet. If she thought it was a lot of blood before, she was not ready for what she saw when she sat down. It took what felt like forever to clean herself up enough to emerge from the bathroom to get some clean underwear, and when she glanced in the mirror, she realized there were tears streaking down her face. She let out a choked sob before swinging the bathroom door open. Her roommate, Ava, now awake and sitting up in bed, saw her face and her eyes widened slightly in surprise.
“Woah, what's the matter?” Ava said.
“I-I got my period.” Y/n sniffled.
“Oh, I’m sorry.” Ava said with genuine sympathy.
“It got everywhere!” Y/n cried, fully sobbing now.
“Oh! That really sucks y/n I’m so sorry. Is there anything you need me to do?” Ava asked, knowing how bad y/n’s periods were.
“Ju-just, if you don’t mind checking my bed to make sure I didn’t bleed into the sheets?”
“Yeah, totally.” Ava walked over to y/n’s bed and y/n grabbed her underwear and went into the bathroom. She cleaned herself up again, using the heaviest tampon she had as well as the heaviest pad. When she finished up in the bathroom, she walked out in her t-shirt and underwear.
“Your sheets have some blood on them, but everything else is good. I stripped the bed for you.” Ava said.
“Great. Now I have to wash them. Thank you for doing that though, you didn’t have to. I feel like I have a diaper on.” Y/n whined. Ava snickered.
“I know, but it wasn’t a big deal, it’s super quick.” Ava said, shrugging y/n off.
“Can I use your stain remover?”
“Yeah of course, it’s where it always is.”
“Cool.” Y/n ran hot water in the sink and made her pants and sheets a little bath with the stain remover. She went into the closet and grabbed her uniform. She sat at her desk and did her staple hairstyle, a half up half down with her curtain bangs out. She glanced over at her makeup bag.
“Nah.” She stated to no one in particular and got up to finish getting ready. She took two Advil and made sure she had extras in her bag.
“You ready?” Ava asked, grabbing her bag.
“Yep. Unfortunately.” Y/n answered with a mini eyeroll and shouldered her bag. Ava laughed and they walked out the door together.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Y/n didn’t eat anything at breakfast, just half a Kind bar during her second period class. All of her classes seemed to drag on and on forever. She was getting so fed up by the littlest things to the point that she was silently seething with her fists clenched. She was also holding back tears because rage like this was really not like her and she didn’t like the way her body was making her react. She also had to change her pad and tampon every single class. So safe to say that she wasn’t in a great mood by the end of the day. Once her last class was finally dismissed, she went straight to her room. She walked in, dropped her bag on her chair, and flopped onto her bed in one swift motion. She laid there until Ava entered a little while later.
“Hey! Um. Hey?” She said.
“Ugghhhhhh.” Y/n groaned in response, muffled by her comforter.
“Got it.” Ava said and went to set her bag down. Y/n finally rolled over and adjusted herself to where she was sitting on her bed. She pulled out her phone to message her boyfriend, Tyler.
Hey, how was school? She messaged and started taking off her shoes. Right as she got her shoes off, her phone went off.
*Blows raspberry. He typed. Do you want to come by? I’m in desperate need of y/n hugs. Y/n snorted when she read that.
If you ever say that again, I’m blocking you. She said back. He responded with a gif.
Tumblr media
Y/n laughed. As much as she wanted to curl up in her bed and die, she needed Tyler more. She got up and changed into her regular clothes. A pair of baggy jeans that she had to hem herself because even petite sizes wouldn’t fit her, a loose t-shirt, and Tyler’s hoodie. She pulled it on and hugged herself; it smelled like calm. Now that she had a tease of Tyler, she had to be in his arms for real. Not just his sleeves. When she walked out of the closet, Ava was entering the closet.
“Hey, you heading into town?” Y/n asked Ava as she walked past.
“Yeah, meeting up with Zach.” Ava said, scrolling through her clothes. “You wanna come with?”
Y/n opened her mouth to answer, but Ava suddenly held up her finger.
“Wait, don't tell me. You’re going to see pretty boy Galpin.” She said with a smirk.
“Wha- How?” Y/n asked, mouth agape.
“Because where else would you be going?” Ava responded with a smirk. “Also, you are drowning in that hoodie.”
“I know! Isn’t it awesome?” Y/n asked with a silly grin on her face.
“You actually look really cute. He’s gonna melt when he sees you.” Ava said, pulling a shirt off the hanger.
“Thanks bae.” Y/n said blowing Ava a kiss. They made eye contact for a second before doubling over in laughter. Once they were able to breathe again, Ava spoke first,
“So do you want to bike together?” Ava asked.
“Yeah.” Y/n said. She popped more Advil and pocketed her phone.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
A ten minute bike ride later, Ava and y/n were riding past the small cottages and shops of Jericho. They slowed to a stop and Ava locked up her bike.
“Have fun with your golden boy.” Ava said.
“Oh don’t worry, I will.” Y/n responded cheekily. She rode away towards Tyler’s house.
Tyler was sitting on the couch in his living room so y/n wouldn’t have to wait when she got there. Soon enough, there was a knock on the door. A small knock. Definitely y/n’s He jumped up to open the door. Outside stood a small auburn haired girl. His eyes lit up and he smiled widely. He felt his insides start to melt when he noticed her wearing his hoodie. He could have died happy right then and there because of how unbelievably adorable y/n looked, absolutely engulfed by his hoodie.
Y/n immediately locked eyes with Tyler. She smiled as soon as she saw him, and noticed he was smiling quite big as well. She rose to her tiptoes, letting herself collapse into him. He embraced her tightly, resting his chin on her head and letting out a breath of relief as calm washed over him. They stood there for a moment, tightly hugging when y/n’s exhaustion and waves of overwhelming emotions spilled over the edge. She started crying into Tyler’s shirt.
It took him a moment to notice, but when he did, he was highly confused and immediately concerned.
“Hey. Hey what’s wrong?” Tyler asked, releasing her a bit so he could see her face. When she looked up at him his heart throbbed. Those doe eyes filled with sadness and pain.
“I-I.” She stammered, only managing to let out a choked sob. Tyler pulled y/n inside and shut the door, leading her to the couch.
“I had a really horrible day.” She whimpered.
“Shhhhhhh. It’s ok, you can tell me all about it, I just need you to calm down first.” He said in a hushed, reassuring voice. A couple minutes later, when y/n’s breathing was (kind of) back to normal, she finally spoke.
“This is going to sound really stupid and pathetic.” She sniffled.
“You can tell me.” He said.
“Ok. Well, I- I got my period this morning.” She said shyly. Tyler blushed slightly, still not used to the topic yet. “My periods are just so horrible and painful and messy, and they make me so mad at everything, but I don’t get mad that easily and I hate it!” She cried, the words just forcing their way out.
“That sucks, I’m so sorry this has to happen to you, love.” Tyler comforted her, stroking her hair slowly.
“Yeah. Thank you.” She sniffled.
“Do you want me to make you something to eat? Or we could order if you want. Something to drink? Watch a show? YouTube? Read? Play a game? Cuddle?” Tyler asked. She looked up at him, smiled, then promptly started crying again. “What? What did I say?” He asked, slightly panicked.
“Wh-why are you s-so n-nice to me?” She sobbed.
“Because that’s what you deserve!” He answered, incredulous. She continued crying and he had to wait for her to calm down again. She lifted her head up and wiped away her tears with her sleeve.
“Chinese.” She said suddenly.
“What?” Tyler asked.
“Chinese food. Ramen, dumplings, green beans.” She said. “Now, please.” Tyler immediately pulled out his phone.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
30 minutes later, when the food arrived, Tyler and y/n went upstairs to his room. Y/n ran in and jumped straight into his bed and cuddled up under the covers. Tyler smiled and just stared at her for a moment before climbing in next to her. He opened up his laptop and slid it over to y/n.
“Take your pick.” He said, unpacking the food. She immediately went to Netflix and put on (your favorite show). Y/n sat up and they dug in while watching their show.
“I’m gonna go get a drink.” She announced, going to get up. Tyler pulled her back into bed.
“Nope. What do you want?” He asked, getting up. Y/n giggled, knowing he wouldn’t let her get it herself.
“Coke Zero please.” She said.
“Anything else?” He asked, opening the door.
“Nope.”
“Alright, I’ll be right back.” He said and disappeared down the hall. He came back up with her drink and one for himself. They continued eating and watching their movie. Tyler got up, gathered all the trash, and brought it downstairs to throw out when they were all done. When he came back into the room, y/n asked,
“Can I wear a pair of your sweatpants please?” Looking up at him through her eyelashes.
“Of course you can.” He said with a smile. No matter how many times she looked at him like that, he always melted at how cute she looked. She got up and picked a pair. Tyler looked away. Y/n always appreciated how respectful of her privacy he was, despite being her boyfriend. She pulled them on, tying the drawstring so they wouldn’t just drop when she let go. She repeated her jump into bed again. Tyler loved it when she did that. She immediately got under the covers and snuggled up close to him. He did the same, and soon y/n was practically on top of him. She breathed him in and reveled in his warmth. He was doing the same. They stayed like that for an hour before y/n suddenly whimpered and curled into herself.
“What happened? What’s wrong?” Tyler asked, looking down at her.
“Hurts.” She said with a grimace.
“I’ll get you an Advil?” He asked.
“Yes please.” She said, reluctant to let go of him, but her pain made a decision for her. He came back up with the Advil and as soon as she washed it down with her soda, they interlocked themselves again.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Y/n looked up at Tyler, staring at his lips. How soft and pink they were. She boosted herself up toward him and he turned his face at her sudden movement. She looked at his pretty face one more time before putting her lips on his. He was shocked but almost immediately leaned in. He reached up and grabbed her head with one hand, the other still around her waist. Y/n moved her hand to his face and they stayed there, softly kissing.
Tyler felt a twitch in his pants. He tried to make it go away but with the constant touch of y/n’s lips and hands, it only made his pants tighter. He of course didn’t say anything to y/n. He didn’t want her to feel pressured. Y/n pulled away from him and kissed him on the cheek before laying back down again and snuggling into his chest. Tyler exhaled silently, glad she couldn’t see the color of his face in the dark.
Y/n glanced at the clock on Tyler’s nightstand. 9:15.
“Awwwww.” She whined.
“What?” Tyler asked, looking down at her sad eyes.
“I have to go. I don’t want to get scolded for being late.”
“Uggghhhh.” Tyler moaned. “I can give you a ride?” He suggested.
“Are you sure? I don’t want to make you get up.” Y/n said.
“Of course I’m sure. Let’s go.” He said, earning a small smile from y/n. She got up and went to take off Tyler’s sweatpants to put her jeans back on but Tyler stopped her.
“Woah woah woah. And just what do you think you’re doing?” Tyler asked in a sassy voice. “You are not putting on uncomfortable jeans when you can wear my sweatpants.” He said. Y/n laughed.
“You really don’t want them back?” Y/n asked.
“No! I want you to be in my pants.” Tyler said. They looked at each other for a moment before bursting out laughing.
“Ok! Ok! I’ll wear your pants!” Y/n mustered in between breaths.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Once y/n had grabbed her stuff and Tyler had grabbed his keys, they got in the car. Tyler grabbed y/n’s hand as soon as he put the car in drive. The entire ride there, they said nothing; just listening to music and holding hands. When they approached the gates of Nevermore and Tyler put the car in park, y/n leaned in to kiss Tyler one last time before they parted ways. As y/n opened the car door, she turned to Tyler, opened her mouth to say something, but closed it again. Tyler didn’t say anything, just waited. He knew she had trouble getting her words out sometimes, so he waited patiently. Eventually, he said to her,
“You don’t have to say anything.” They hadn’t talked too much about it, but he knew y/n had a hard time saying the big L word. He knew if he was patient, she would say it on her own terms. Y/n looked at him appreciatively and stepped out of the car. She shut the door and waved to Tyler as she walked through the gates. Tyler waved back and watched her walk for a bit before driving away. On his way back home, he couldn’t help but think how lucky he was to have such an amazing girl.

Tyler Galpin x Reader Series Pt. 1-- The Weathervane
Tumblr media
A/N: I hope to have part 2 up soon! We will see how my homework treats me, haha
Summary: y/n is a Nevermore student who has the power to grow plants, but hasn’t fully harnessed them yet, making for quite the interesting first encounter with Tyler Galpin at the Weathervane.
______________________________________________________________
You usually kept to yourself at Nevermore, spending most of your time in your room or in the greenhouse with your beloved plants. You’d been sent to Nevermore because, despite all of your parents’ attempts to control your abilities, they’d spun wildly out of control, leaving a massive tree growing through your house. But it had been months since you started at Nevermore, and your teachers were slightly concerned about your lack of socialization.
“Why not spend some time in Jericho? You could get some fresh air!” They’d suggested, and though you didn’t really have a reason to be in town where you knew everyone would stare at you and call you a freak in huddled whispers, you liked walks, so you decided to try it out.
It took a while to get your bearings, having only driven through the town a few times, but you soon found a cute coffee shop called the Weathervane. In sharp contrast from the chilly winter air of Vermont, the cozy coffee shop was warm and welcoming. The croissants and other pastries on the counter smelled incredible. There was nobody in line, so you stepped up to the counter.
Behind one of the coffee machines was a boy your age in a Weathervane uniform and an apron. He was quite cute, you noticed, with his brown hair curled above his ears and over his forehead, and his pink lips pressed together in concentration. You followed his gaze to see that he was working on a detailed bit of latte art-- a swan. It was intriguing to watch him, to watch his piece of work come together. But suddenly, it was ruined, one of the swan wings mixing into the coffee below and disappearing. The barista huffed in frustration, setting the cup down and looking up, only to yelp in surprise at your presence.
“I am- I’m so so sorry to have kept you waiting,” he spluttered, and you blushed at his sudden attention, feeling as though you had been caught in the act of staring at the beautiful boy in front of you. You didn’t notice the small daisy begin to blossom between your fingers on the counter when you introduced yourself shyly.
“No, it’s no problem! I was just watching you, um, make that swan. It was beautiful. I, um, I’m y/n”
He smiled sheepishly and scratched the back of his neck before replying: “Nice to meet you, y/n. I’m Tyler. What can I get for you today?” You blushed when you realized that the entire time you’d been standing there, you hadn’t even thought to read the menu. Buttercups sprung up in your hair, and Tyler’s eyes grew wide at the sight of them, but you took his expression as impatience and said, “I’ll just have a hot chocolate and a croissant.”
He rang you up and began making your hot chocolate straight away, and you moved down the counter to wait at the pick-up sign. It wasn’t hard to begin staring again, noticing the way the lights above Tyler’s head glinted in his hair, the way his eyelashes fluttered against his cheekbones when he looked down, the way one side of his mouth naturally quirked up into a half-smile, the way he-
“Here you go,” he said, and you were shaken out of your daydreams, ferns unfurling at your feet. You grabbed your order quickly and said thank you with an awkward smile before he asked, “Are you a Nevermore student?”
Seriously? Not even five minutes into talking with Tyler, and he’d already come to the conclusion that you were a freak, just as everyone else had. The ferns were as tall as your knee now, but you were too embarrassed to notice.
“Uh, yeah, I am. It’s that obvious?” you asked, refusing to look at anything other than your cup of cocoa. He chuckled, but answered in plain upon seeing your eyes widen in concern.
“Well, uh, you’ve kinda got...” he pointed to his head, “flowers, y’know, growing out of your hair.”
You slapped a hand over your mouth in horror, but he only chuckled again.
“Don’t worry, it’s cool. Very pretty, actually,” he reassured, but you couldn’t help internally cringing at your inability to control your power.
“Thanks,” you said anyway, and looked down at your shoes in dismay, only to realize ferns as tall as the countertop brushing against your skirt.
“Um, I’m sorry-- thank you-- I have to go now,” you said, spinning on your heels and hurrying away from the mess you’d just caused. You were sure it would only make things worse if you tried to help clean it up.
Little did you know, you’d left Tyler Galpin staring at your receding figure in wonder, and he was surprisingly delighted to find your ferns across the counter soon after your departure.

Y/N: I don’t need that, I’m already dripping Tyler.
Tyler: w-what?

So we know that a Hyde usually has a nest, and Thornhill destroyed Tyler's Hyde nest (that place would probably be packed with too much 𝓢𝓹𝓬𝔂 𝓝𝓸𝓼𝓽𝓪𝓵𝓰𝓲𝓪 for Ty to want to use it as his nest anyway.) Now imagine this, Xavier letting Tyler use part of his shed as a new Hyde nest (or as he would call it, his Hyde away). He makes a comfy area for Tyler in there and doesn't even complain about the bones that sometimes randomly show up. Tyler stealing random articles of clothing from Xavier to just keep in his nest. The two of them cuddling there when one of them has an especially bad day. Xavier actually helping Tyler feel comfortable with all aspects of himself INCLUDING his Hyde self and helping him heal from Thornhill's abuse.
Thank you for coming to my Ted talk :3

Could I request a fluffy (maybe smut after if you’re up for it, if not that’s okay!) Tyler Galpin x reader where they both go to the same school and are in a theater production with the 2 lead roles? I’m not sure what musicals you’ve watched but preferably a romance one. They rehearse so much together they end up dating and confessing after they do an onstage kiss 🥺
Tumblr media
Pairing: Tyler Galpin x Fem! reader
summary: you and Tyler have the two lead roles in Mouline rouge and you inevitably start feeling things for each other.
warnings: none
A lot
Your heart was beating so fast you could feel the thumps in your eardrums. You heard someone call out your name but you didn't stop as you continued running. Floods of people were coming your way and you kept bumping into them. You were definitely gonna gave some bruises tomorrow but you couldn't think about it now. It was 3:30 and you were supposed to be there 15 minutes ago. If only Alice hadn't started vomiting words without a break you would have maybe remembered to look at a clock. but she had, and you hadn't, and your legs and your very not-used-to-it lungs were damning you for it right about now. You finally turned right at the end of the hallway and you thanked every existing being as you caught a glimpse of the theatre's doors. Those laminated pea-green doors had never looked more beautiful as you finally reached them. You ran through them so fast you almost fell, but you didn't, instead, you stabilized yourself and freezed at the entrance, your eyes shutting close as you braced yourself for the scolding inevitably coming your way. You could already see Mr. Hanrl's wrinkles deepening as he squinted at you with those creepy black eyes, threatening to throw you out of the play if you arrived late one more time. And you could already see yourself apologizing and walking head-down backstage while desperately trying not to laugh at his incredibly squeaky voice. So it was a surprise when instead of "I can't believe you arrived late again" you heard another voice, a much deeper and warm one ask "what are you doing?" Your eyes snatched open and they widened incredibly as you saw Tyler looking at you confusedly from the stage. The room fell silent and you felt drowned by the absolute absence of sound. God this was stupid. He was still looking at you, an amused smile on his face. "I" you couldn't help but laugh "I was waiting for Mr. Hanrl to yell at me" you smiled, as you gestured to what you now noticed empty seat, where he sat for every rehearsal. "Wait why isn't he there?" you looked around, taking in the completely empty room "wait" you gasped incredulously "did I arrive early?" He laughed softly, the sweet sound traveling through the distance between you straight to your ears. "no" he smiled "not at all" you frowned "Rehearsal was canceled" "oh" your eyes widened "but then-why are you here?" he scratched his neck "I didn't get the message, and from the look of it " he gestured towards you "you didn't either" You smiled "No, I definitely didn't" silence again "so" you cleared your throat "I guess I'll go then" your pressed your lips together in an awkward grimace "It was- It was nice seeing you" "Oh" he said, almost disappointed "Y-yeah it was nice seeing you too" You tried to examine his face when you heard his tone dropping, but you didn't gather that much information to actually come to any type of conclusion. You waved hastily before turning around "wait y/n" you turned back around "we could-" he paused a moment "we could rehearse together" he bit his lip "you know, since no one is here and- and we have the whole theatre at our disposal " he started speaking fast "and we're the main characters and have so many scenes together" he was rambling, and your chest warmed "I think it would be good, no?" he caught his breath. You tried not to laugh. You didn't want him to think you were making fun of him, even if you sort of were. "Yes, it's a good idea Tyler" Oh how he loved when you said his name, it rolled off your tongue so easily, smooth like silk. He could listen to it forever. "great" he said, as you walked up to the stage. You were right in front of him "uhh" you hummed, rummaging through your bag "what scene should we do?" you said, finally finding the script. "well, last time we didn't get to finish the dressing room one" "Oh right" you smiled "that's a fun one " "it is" he agreed, reciprocating. "so we stopped just before you sang the last part of the song right?" "right" he nodded, as you did the same "so" he raised his eyebrows "I guess I'll start" You laughed softly "yeah, that seems about right" This was more awkward than you'd expected. he took some steps away, glancing at you amusedly one last time before clearing his throat. He started singing, and your mouth immediately turned upright. His voice was so smooth and low when he sang, it could fill the whole room the moment he opened his mouth. he was amazing, you had always thought it. Since the first rehearsal, he stood out. He was talented, and funny, and a great actor and- cute, god he was cute. It was hard at first to pretend you weren't fascinated by him, and you would still catch yourself sometimes staring at him a bit too long to be acceptable, but you got better. You could have a full conversation with him now, and as of lately you had been doing that a lot. Before rehearsal, after rehearsal, yesterday when he saw you in the hallway, and the day before at lunch. You had started to talk. A lot. And you absolutely loved it, he was so funny that at times you had to cover his mouth to make him stop. And he was clever, god he was clever. And not like, I can do math clever, no, he actually was smart, real-life smart. he knew what was going on around the world and knew how to engage in a conversation bout it, he knew about poetry, about books, and even if his favorite film was fight club (which normally would have been a huge red flag, if it wasn't for the fact he was the first man on earth to actually understand the meaning behind it) he still had great taste in them. And so talking to him came easily, and you started to enjoy it more and more as time passed. But now, now it wasn't easy. And you couldn't understand why. It was never awkward between you two, it was everything but. And as you started relieving all those encounters, all those times you had talked and talked and then talked some more, at times risking arriving late to class, you realized the common denominator. You were never alone. Other people were there, even if they weren't with you they were still present, they were in the hallway, in the canteen, on stage, there was always someone. And now it was just you, and him, sole. You didn't know why, I mean, it shouldn't have, but it did, it made sense. Being alone meant having no way out, no easy excuse, being alone meant privacy, and privacy meant having possibilities, chances, chances to do the things you stopped yourself from thinking of, from dreaming of, because there was no point, in deluding yourself of something when you knew it wouldn't happen. But it was hard, just knowing that those thoughts had been there at some point, it was hard pretending they hadn't. He was still singing, you noticed, as you awakened, and also closer to you. when had that happened? You just hoped you didn't look like an immobilized zombie all this time. he was smiling, like he was supposed to, and shit- you realized you were also meant to be doing the same. Right, you were rehearsing. Your expression changed, as you at least tried to get into the part. You were Satine, and Satine definitely didn't get distracted by a guy with a pretty voice. oh but she did. God, you were so fucked. He had walked up to right in front of you, and he put his arms on your waist as the song was about to end. His touch was warm, even if it was just against the t-shirt you were wearing, it still felt like he was touching your raw skin, burning it with his hands. You whimpered involuntarily, and hoped to god, or anyone listening that he hadn't heard. The slight sparkle in his eyes made you think otherwise. shit. his mouth closed into the happiest of smiles,( because he was a good actor, not because he was actually that happy to be close to you) as the song ended. You were inches apart, like you were supposed to be, like the script said, and your brain was buzzing and melting slowly and your heart was beating fast and you really fucking hated yourself. just be normal. my god. It shouldn't be that hard. He's just a boy. A normal, stupid, hot, funny, and clever boy. fuck He was still silent and your cheeks reddened as you realized you were supposed to say your line. "oh I can't believe it.  I'm in love" you paused for dramatic effect, and also, maybe, just maybe to catch your very weak breath "I'm in love with a young, handsome, talented duke" you breathed out incredulously. His eyes fell to your lips and you noticed how it also took him a moment to realize it was his turn. "duke?" he frowned, confused You laughed softly and his eyes glanced at your mouth again. Was he doing it on purpose? Was he that good of an actor? He must have been. "Not that the title is important, of course" There was something in his eyes- you'd never seen him like this"I'm not a duke" Your mind was completely somewhere else, but you could still somehow remember the lines "not a duke?" you said unconvincingly, and you felt like he wasn't there anymore, Tyler was there physically, but he wasn't the one holding you, talking to you. He stepped even closer to you, your two bodies now so close you could feel him, his warmth, his scent, everything. "I'm-" his eyes fell to your mouth again, and you really wished he would just lean in and kiss it "I'm," he said again, obviously distracted. This wasn't part of it. You knew. You glanced at him, and he met your eyes, a sparkle traveling between them, an understanding, a message, going from him to you. Everything suddenly fell silent and you began being very aware of your own breathing, your lungs inflating and deflating fast as you felt anxious, for what you didn't know, you just were. He smiled softly, looking straight at you and you swore your stomach dissolved. Was this really about to happen? Or were you imagining things? It was all so confusing All your doubts disappeared once he did it, he started leaning in. Not because of the script not because of the play but because he wanted to he wanted to kiss you You tilted your head to the left, granting him access and you could feel his lips, his beautiful pretty lips graze yours when the bell rang. he stopped so did you. You didn't want to look at him, he had regretted it it was fine it was a mistake you understood you took a step back, looking at the floor "I-I gotta go"
time passed and you never talked about that evening again. You remained friends, just as before. The day after he still sat at your table for lunch. You remember how scared you were. But then he started talking, and joking, and after the first 10 minutes, all was forgotten. Everything was fine, nothing happened, so nothing had to be weird. It made sense. That of course didn't mean your mind didn't travel back to it at times. For as much as you tried to stop it, the feeling of being so close to him always came back to you, and with that, questions. Questions like what would have happened if the bell hadn't rung, if you hadn't run away, or if he hadn't stopped. questions you were never gonna know the answer to.
"God I'm nervous" you sighed, as you sipped from your water bottle
"why?" he frowned "what do you mean why?" your eyes widened "the show's tomorrow" He laughed softly at your nervousness "you have nothing to worry about" he said, turning towards you "you're amazing y/n, you know that" he smiled "You're the best singer here" he continued " and not to mention actress" he chuckled "I mean, You knew all your lines on the first day" "you're gonna make me blush" you said like he already hadn't. "well maybe I like seeing you blush" You held your breath "you're an asshole" you rolled your eyes playfully He laughed, genuinely, wholeheartedly "I'm sorry" he smiled "if you want to we could run our lines some more" your heart fluttered, flashbacks from last time passing through your mind. "i-Uhh, sure" he smiled, like he knew, like he had just thought the same thing, because he had. "alright" he sat down on the stage, and you followed his lead. You had rehearsed for hours, you were tired. "so what's your least favorite scene?" he asked you were confused "what do you mean?" "Usually your least favorite scene is the one you need to practice more" he explained " y'know, because you don't like it, and your mind subconsciously tells you that it's ok to fuck it up" You frowned, as you smiled "and who said that" "I did" You laughed "oh well, then we're in great hands" "hey!" he feigned shock "it has always worked for me" "ok" you shook your head "so what's that scene for this play?" He thought for a moment "I think the balcony one is pretty tough" Your mouth slacked open in pretend offense "so the one you have to kiss me in" He laughed "Oh" he shook his head"not because of that" he said "definitely, not because of that" he glanced at you "you know that" definitely? "I did not know that" "well" he chuckled "now you do" "ok, so if it isn't because of my aberring mouth" you raised your eyebrows "then what is it for?" He grinned "the songs are difficult, and I have to be careful not to sing over you" You shrugged " you've never done that" "I know, but I could" "you wanna rehearse that one then?" you asked he raised his eyebrow smugly "you're that desperate to kiss me?" yes, most definitely. You punched his shoulder playfully "oh shut up" you rolled your eyes "and it's not like we were gonna kiss anyway" "Why is that?" "We don't kiss in rehearsal, Tyler" "We could make an exception" he smirked "I mean, it would only be right if we tried it out once before doing it on stage, no?" Your cheeks were red. "I-" you swallowed nervously "If-If you believe so" "I just think it makes sense" "y-yea. It does" you smiled shyly, and you could see relief wash over his face. "all right then" he stood up, to get to the center of the stage "come here sweetheart" he said sarcastically, and you knew it was a joke, but that didn't stop your heart from speeding up at the pet name. "right away my love" you joked, walking up to him. You felt electric, dizzy almost as you stopped right in front of him. he was tall, and his hazel eyes were hypnotizing. he put his hands on your waist, and you didn't give yourself time to think about it before you put your arms around his neck. "ok" you breathed out shakily "you have to say something before right?" he asked "oh right" you laughed softly, taking a moment to remember what it was you were supposed to say. Ok, you got it You looked at him "you're gonna be bad for business, I can tell" you said and he smiled, before he leaned in, placing his lips on yours. You felt so light you would have flown away if it wasn't for his hands keeping you grounded. And he felt right, like he was finally sure. He leaned away, and both of you smiled. "Well I think we're good at this part" he said "yup" you smiled, taking your arms off of him to take a step back. Something in his face changed when you did, what looked like uncertainty glanced into his eyes. "We're ready for tomorrow then" you smiled, to relieve some tension. "absolutely" he agreed
the red and blue lights were emerging from every direction and you felt like you were in a dream as you sang with him, with Tyler. The soft music resonating in the theatre, mixing heavenly with your voices. he walked up to you, in the same place he had been in yesterday, and as you sang together the last lines you felt your body warm, at that indescribable feeling. "you're gonna be bad for business, I can tell" you said, your voice echoing in the room, before he kissed you. Little shivers traveled down your spine, as the contact took your breath away. You weren't supposed to feel that way for a fake kiss, you knew. Just like he knew. The curtains closed as the music reached its climax and you leaned away, breathing heavily. You smiled once you noticed some of your lipstick on his lips. "we were great" you couldn't help but hug him. You knew it was the end of the first act, and that you were supposed to rush backstage to change, but you wanted to feel close to him, you needed to. "you're amazing y/n" he stroked your hair "I never doubted we were gonna be" You looked up at him, your chin against his chest "thank you" you said sincerely, tightening your hug. " I should go change" you said "me too" none of you moved "I-" you were about to let him go when he stopped you. "y/n" he said, the light illuminating only the left side of his face "I-" he took a deep breath, and you frowned "y/n I've been wanting to tell you this for the longest time" there was so much fear in his eyes "I really wanted to, but- but I was scared and-" he chuckled " and you made me so fucking nervous" you smiled too now "but- but now I have to, because if I don't I'm scared I never will" his pupils were scanning frantically your whole face "y/n I like you" he smiled anxiously "I like you, like- a lot" Your face lit up, as your body shut down. He had said it He had said it for real. "Tyler" you murmured "I like you too" you smiled "a lot"

Tyler and Readers daughter seeing Tyler as the Hyde for the first time and instead of being scared she just calmly approaches him and offers him a goldfish 😭
pt. 2
tyler is the most loving father ever. even before his daughter was born, he already loved her unconditionally. he loves spending time with her, doing her two little piggy tails and choosing the cutest outfit before driving her to daycare, and then waiting for her outside with her afternoon snack and opening arms just for the baby to run stomping into them. that's why he's scared that someday his baby would grow enough to discover that he is a monster.
—it's not like that, tyler. she'll still love you the same.
but tyler shook his head every time and answered you "she will never want to hear from me again when she finds out that i am a monster." and it breaks you every time because you know that's not true. you were educating your daughter to respect everyone, why would it be any different with her father, one of the people she loves most in the world? besides, even if tyler didn't even want to think about it and that in most cases the children inherited the mother's condition, there was still a possibility of her being also a hyde.
you drove to the weathervane with your daughter sitting in the back of the car eating some snacks. once you arrived at the cafe shop, you noticed that the lights were on, and the door was open, but there was no one inside. —mommy will be here in a second, baby —. and you played some soft music for her while she waited for you in the car. you got out of it and quickly approached the entrance to the cafeteria. you didn't need to go inside to know that tyler wasn't there and that something was wrong. there was a trail of blood leading from the door of the weathervane down the street a little way. —shit —. you mumbled and quickly got into the car again.
—okay, baby, come here. daddy needs us —. you left the car at the edge of the forest, you held your daughter in your arms and you went into the woods. he was most likely halfway through the transformation, that's why the blood. his wounds from the past transformation were not healed, so he would probably was badly injured.
your daughter was confused but she was still busy eating her cheddar goldfish. you walked a few meters with her in your arms until you found tyler's clothes ripped on the ground. —no, no, no, no —. you knew what that meant. when you turned around to take your girl back to the car and drive her to bianca's, there he was, transformed into what he hated most. his breathing was heavy, his big eyes stared at you and your daughter, ready for your next move, and his fanged teeth were showing in an attempt to scare you both. his body was way bigger than yours, and it blocked your way back to the car. his long claws were digging into the ground, almost as if he was fighting against his nature.
—tyler–. you called him with a sigh.
—daddy? —. your daughter called him. her green eyes were analyzing what she had in front of her. her small body was a little tense between your arms, but her face showed no fear. she tapped on your shoulder three times and you hesitated for a moment. tyler would never forgive himself if he hurt your daughter. you ended up leaving the girl on her feet, always behind her in case she fell. walking heavily she approached him, he didn't try to attack her nor he did try to avoid her. using her sticky little fingers, she pulled the last cheese goldfish that she had left, and then she held out her arm, offering it to his dad.
the hyde lifted one of his big arms off the ground, and you threatened to pull her away from him. being extremely careful and just by using the tip of his long claws, he took the goldfish from the girls' hand. after that, she returned to your side and asked you to pick her up again.
—i'll take her with bianca and xavier, and i'll be back —. you didn't know if tyler was hearing you, but by the time he returned to his human form, he will be tired and hurt, with all of his past wounds open again and most likely with new ones.
the hyde huffed and you guessed that he did hear you. he slowly moved out of your way and you started to walk to the car with your daughter in your arms again. her eyes never left tyler, she rested her head on your shoulder so she could keep looking at him for a little longer while you walked away from him. with her hand, she waved goodbye to him and he didn't move from there until you were both far away enough

Short story # 17
✨Fandom(s) - Wednesday (series) & Misfits (sorta)
💍Pairing - Tyler Galpin X (Y/n) Wolfgang Von Frankenstein
🕯Summary - You're new to Nevermore, and already you've made a few friends. And despite having different styles, you agree to go into town with them to go shopping. But when that gets boring you decide a nice hot drink would be a perfect way to kill some time. Who knew you'd also meet a cute boy while at it.
⚠️Warning(s) - General cussing probably, but other than that this one's okay.
📝Note(s) - You are now the little sister of Doyle and Jerry from the Misfits. I'm changing the Misfits timeline to fit this story better, as the guys are only a few years older than you. (Like 5 or so) Also in this world the Misfits are Outcasts, they ain't Normies!
🗝Key information - We're pretending that Wolfgang Von Frankenstein is your families last name because it's wicked.

"Awe please please please!" Natasha bugged her deary new friend, who gave her an unamused look before sighing dramatically. "Yes!" Natasha threw her arms in the air in victory, knowing she'd finally convinced (Y/n) to go shopping in town. "You do realize this isn't exactly my scene right?" (Y/n) pointed out while Natasha texted the others to meet them in front of the school. "Oh I know." She mused sarcastically as she observed (Y/n)'s outfit. (Y/n) in turn rolled her eyes fondly as she followed her friend out of their shared dorm. "Finally!" Enid gushed as they approached her and their mutual friend Kayla. "You two took forever!" She added with a pout. "Please." Natasha scoffed, leading the group out to the bus that would take them into town.
Once they reached town the girls lead (Y/n) into several corny stores, that just screamed girly. And as they neared the third store, a dress shop, (Y/n) decided she'd had enough. "Hey I saw a coffee shop just down the street, I'm just gonna go hangout there until you guys are done." (Y/n) explained before they could rush off into the store. "But we're having so much fun." Enid pouted making (Y/n) chuckle softly. "You guys are." She pointed to the various bags each girl held, before sticking her free hands into her back pockets. "Well... Okay." Enid agreed begrudgingly, smiling brightly when (Y/n) gave her a grateful nod. "I'll see you guys in a little while." She called out before spinning on her heel and heading for the coffee shop. The girls all waved then rushed into the store in a fit of excited giggles, as they had with all the other stores as well.
"How can I help you?" The young man working the register asked with a prim smile, something (Y/n) had found rather amusing. "I actually have no idea what I want." She peered at the menu, unaware of how intensely the guy was observing her. "Well I know I want a hot drink." She mused before looking back to the rather attractive guy. "You know what, just surprise me." She shrugged, making him chuckle. "Okay three dollars then." He knew just what to make her. "Oh and I need your last name." He added after storing the money away. "Wolfgang Von Frankenstein." (Y/n) chimed without a second thought, an amused chortle escaping her at the bewildered look on his face. "My first names (Y/n) if that would be easier." She peered at his name tag. "Tyler." She added with a playful wink, Tyler chuckled nervously as he ducked his head to hide his blush. "Yeah that'll be easy." He agreed before getting to work on her order.
(Y/n) hummed in contempt as she walked over to a booth, sitting to where she was facing the store her friends were in. And within just a few minutes Tyler came over with her order. "Here you go (Y/n), one white chocolate latte." He smiled as he placed it in front of her, the decorative skull in the foam making her grin. "How'd you know?" She mused as he slid into the booth across from her. "I'm really good at what I do." He shrugged casually. "So why ask for my name if you were just going to bring it to me?" (Y/n) pried as she grasped her cup, the warmth of the drink warming her chilled hands. "I wasn't sure I could convince my coworker to let me take my brake early." Tyler admitted, making (Y/n) chuckle. "And what makes you think I want you pestering me?" She asked with a playful grin. "I can tell." He fired back with his own smile. "Very well." She shrugged with a dramatic flourish, effectively making him laugh.
After a few short moments of simply observing eachother, Tyler broke the quiet that had settled. "Wolfgang Von Frankenstein huh?" He tilted his head with a thoughtful look. "Seems like an odd name." He added without thought. "To you perhaps, but to me it is all I've ever known." (Y/n) stated before sipping her drink, a soft moan of approval escaping her at the taste of her latte. "So you must be a student at Nevermore." He wondered. "Yep I just transferred this semester." She nodded her head. "Made any friends yet?" He crosses his arms on the table. "A few. People really like me so it's never difficult." (Y/n) let her fingers dance along the side of the cup. "Were you born with that?" Tyler suddenly asked, his eyes locked onto her hands. "No... It's an affliction from something that happened a few years ago." She peered down at her inky black fingers, while Tyler looked to her mouth decorated with black lines.
"Even that part?" He asked. And (Y/n)'s pitch black stained tongue poked out and swept across her bottom lip, revealing that her gums and teeth even had a black hue to them. "Yes." She nodded her head. "I'm sorry I shouldn't have asked." Tyler shook his head, embarrassed that he'd brought it up. "It's okay, you're only curious." (Y/n) brushed it off with a shrug. After a few long moments, Tyler once more broke the quiet. "So do you have any siblings?" He asked with honest curiosity. "I have two older brothers." (Y/n) nodded her head as she pulled her phone out, quickly pulling up a picture of her brothers, and showing him. "The one on the left is Doyle, we're as thick as thieves. And the guy on the right is the eldest, Jerry, we're pretty close, but we don't quite bond the same way me and Doyle do." (Y/n) smiled as she thought about her brother's, whom she hadn't seen in nearly four months.
"They seem interesting." Tyler chuckled softly. "Their trouble." (Y/n) mused with a cheeky grin "Okay so I gotta ask... Is it a tattoo? Or just makeup?" Tyler asked as he pointed to Doyle. "Ah well neither actually..." (Y/n) chuckled softly at the confusion on the young man's face. "An affliction?" He wondered. "Nope." She shook her head. "I don't get it." He admitted. "Well it's the byproduct of dabbling with eastern dark arts." She shrugged casually. "What kind of dark arts?" Tyler asked as he scooted forward a little, clearly intrigued. "Necromancy to be exact." (Y/n) admitted before sipping her latte. "Why was your brother messing with necromancy?" The barista wondered aloud. (Y/n)'s eyes cast out the window, catching sight of her friends exiting the dress shop. "Maybe another time." She excused herself to follow after her friends. "I'll call you sometime." Tyler hollered after her, making (Y/n) chuckle as she spun on her heel to look at him. "I never gave you my number." She pointed out. "Maybe next time." She added with a wink, making Tyler chuckle as she left.

Fic Update—Chapter Thirteen: Oblivion (Tyler)
"So you'll be my co-captain now, right?" Kent said--his icy eyes fixed on the swimmers. "I mean you kind of have to at this point."
"What about Oliver?"
Kent clicked his tongue. "Oliver doesn't come anywhere near my time."
I snorted a laugh. There were times he could be as cutthroat as stock trader on Wall Street. A byproduct of his pedigree no doubt. Still, it was funny to see it come out when the guy was as calm as they came.
"He also was a dick to Divina and wouldn't take 'no' for an answer when she turned him down last semester," he added in a more serious tone. "The guy's literally got to be blind thinking he stands a chance. Besides, she's already dating Yoko."
"Wait really?"
"Yeah," Kent looked at me, the incoming swimmers, then back to me. "You didn't know? You were at the Rav'N last year and probably saw them together."
"I thought they were just friends."
"Nah, Divina's as straight as a circle. Same for Yoko. Anyway, what do you say? Will you be my co?"

Tyler Galpin x Reader Series Pt. 2-- Pizza Shop
Tumblr media
Summary: You cross paths with Tyler Galpin again, and he is just as smitten with you as last time-- not that you notice, of course. Enjoy!

_______________________________________________________________________
“Y/n, what in the world is that smell?” Your roommate, Lydia, asked as she walked into your shared dorm room. You looked up at her with an apologetic smile and said, “Sorry, I had to spray my plants with neem oil today, and it can smell kind of funny.” Lydia giggled, her watery blue eyes flashing.
“No worries, just open the window, I guess,” she replied, and you started toward the large bay window across from the door. From your bedroom, you could see most of the lake. It rippled in the wind, a glossy blue mirror that invited you to sit down on its banks and stare into it for hours.
“How was your day?” Lydia asked, dropping down onto her bed and looking up at you.
“It was fine,” you answered honestly. It had been about a week since your embarrassing trip to the Weathervane, and you’d desperately hoped that you-- and Tyler-- would both be able to forget about the small garden you’d managed to cultivate at your feet while you were there. “Same old, same old,” you finished, walking back to sit on your bed facing her.
You often smiled inwardly at the shocking difference between your sides of the room. While Lydia’s walls were covered in band posters and framed concert tickets, and her floor was littered with broken drum sticks, scraps of paper, and dirty laundry, your side was covered in plants. Succulents, palms, lilies, marigolds, vines-- you name it. You kept as many plants in your room as possible. Books, loose pieces of paper, and pens were also scattered across your floor and furniture. The room was cluttered, but it was a comforting kind of chaos. Lots to look at, lots to surround yourself with. The room you shared with Lydia felt like a big hug each time you walked in; it was a room full of both of your favorite things.
“Well, if you wanna change it up a bit, a bunch of us are headed to Jericho in a few minutes. You should come!”
You squinted your eyes in suspicion.
“Did one of the dorm parents put you up to this?” you asked, assuming this to be another one of Nevermore’s plans to get you out of your room. Lydia laughed once more.
“Ha! No, I just thought you’d wanna come hang. I know it’s not exactly your thing, but people enjoy hanging out with you, y/n.”
You hesitated for a moment. What if they wanted to go to the Weathervane? You weren’t sure you could face Tyler again after the trouble you’d caused him. What if he kicked you out for making such a mess and leaving him to clean it up? He’d think of you as a classic Nevermore kid: always the problem, never the solution.
“What would we do in Jericho?” you asked quietly. Lydia clapped her hands as though you’d already agreed to join.
“A few of us wanted to hang out at the park, and then we thought we could all meet back up for pizza before coming back to the dorms,” she explained with a proud smile on her face. You pondered the plan, then, going against your gut, said yes, you would come. Lydia hopped off her bed and jumped around excitedly, wooping loudly.
“C’mon, let’s get ready. Ugh, I’m so excited! You’re gonna have a great time, I promise, y/n.”
You could only hope.
_______________________________________________________________________
The group of Nevermore students in front of you chattered the entire walk into town, and you felt like you couldn’t keep up with the conversation. At times, you envied Lydia for her ability to mingle so easily. But you didn’t want to impose, and just shoving yourself into the conversation would be incredibly awkward, you were sure.
That was until Lydia pulled you into the conversation.
“Yeah, y/n just finished that book! Right, y/n? What did you think of The Hobbit?” Your stomach jumped into your throat at the sound of your name being called, but you smiled wide at Lydia.
“Uh, yeah, it was okay. Kinda slow, but a sort of comfortable read. It was cute,” you reported, and Lydia’s siren friend Mina fell into step next to you, telling you about the page she was currently reading.
The rest of the walk was nerve-wracking, but it was a nice change; you weren’t used to talking to anyone other than Lydia and a few others. Once you all reached the park, you, Lydia, and a few others waved goodbye to a group that wanted to check out some of the shops.
“You did great!” Lydia whispered into your ear. “See? You’re a natural. Nothing to worry about with any of them.”
You smiled back at her. “I know, I just-- thank you. For inviting me out. This is great,” you said quietly, hoping she knew you meant it.
The small group of you laid out a large blanket and watched the sun set over the trees just outside of Jericho, laughing and chatting the evening away.
_______________________________________________________________________
“Ugh, I’m starving!” One boy said. He had telekinetic abilities and had run out of gold fish to plop into his mouth without touching, or even looking, at them. You wished you had such mastery over your own power. With every laugh, the wildflowers around you grew a little taller, bloomed a little brighter. And though they were beautiful, it was embarrassing to know that your feelings betrayed you so easily all the time.
“Let’s go find the others and get dinner,” Mina suggested from next to you. The group agreed and gathered their things.
After about twenty minutes, everyone was grouped in front of a busy pizza shop. Inside smelled of garlic and oregano. You couldn’t wait to order.
Once everyone was seated and eating, it was easy to get lost in the commotion. Listening to everyone tell hilarious stories and whine about homework put you at ease-- why hadn’t you tried this before?
Then, as you got up to grab some napkins from the counter, you were suddenly reminded why:
“Uh, hey, y/n,”
You jumped and turned at the sound of your name, only to meet eyes with Tyler. Red-orange marigolds immediately began to spring up from inside your socks.
“Hi, Tyler,” you breathed, and then you quickly put your hands up, as if to surrender.
“Listen, I am so so so sorry I left such a mess at your shop. It was a mis--”
“Hey, don’t worry about it. It was actually very impressive,” the brunet said gently with a smile on his face. He was looking at you calmly, but you felt pressured by his gaze and swept your eyes across the room. Moss spread over the stack of napkins you held, and though you hardly noticed, Tyler watched it grow in amusement.
“Those are your friends?” he asked, looking up at the other Nevermore students. You nodded.
“Well, sort of. They are my roommate’s friends. They invited me out for dinner,” you explained, your eyes still not meeting his.
“That’s cool of them. I’m here with my friends too,” Tyler said, motioning behind him to a few boys sitting quietly in a red booth. All you could do was smile, unsure of what to say.
“Y’know,” he began, shoving his hands into his pockets and shifting his weight a bit. You raised your eyebrows and tried to look at him how he was looking at you, but with the way he was looking at you, all you could manage was to train your eyes on his collar.
“I was sorta hoping you’d come back to the Weathervane, but it’s been a while. I hope my hot chocolate didn’t suck too bad,” he finished with a laugh, but your ears were practically ringing; he had been hoping you would come back to the Weathervane? You were in such shock that you didn’t even have the sense to stomp at the lobelias sprouting at your heels.
“Oh, I’m-- I’m so sorry, the hot chocolate was great, really great,” you spluttered. He grinned, and finally you plucked up the courage to look him in the eyes. They were soft, his dark brown irises captivating.
“Great,” he said softly, “then maybe I can make it for you again soon.”
Soon?! The purply-blue lobelias shot up and wrapped around your shins tightly. He wanted you to come back soon! Tyler wanted yo--
“Hey, y/n, can you grab me a few of those napkins while you’re over there?” one redheaded girl called from your table across the room. The sudden distraction from your excitement-- and the stunted growth of the plants at your feet-- was a relief.
“Uh, sure thing,” you called back, and grabbed a few more napkins from the stack.
“I shouldn’t keep you. Have a good night, y/n,” Tyler said, the moment over. You hated yourself for getting so caught up in conversation with the boy, but the emotion ebbed when he smiled at you one more time.
“Um, yeah, thanks, Tyler,” you said slowly, shooting back an awkward smile before shuffling back over to your table. Setting down the napkins for everyone, you shifted your gaze to Lydia, who wiggled her eyebrows at you as if to say, Who was that???
You smiled sheepishly, knowing that you were in for quite the interrogation when you got back to the dorm.

Who I thought you were
Tumblr media
Jericho was a small town. Everybody knew everybody. But the most surprising factor were the people and how good they were at keeping secrets. Or how good they were at covering up things which shouldn’t have been. I’ve lived here my whole and I couldn’t say I hated it, but I think I could’ve gone to better places, better cities. However, when I was given the choice to stay with my mother or leave with my father, as they have divorced and my dad realized he couldn’t live in this town anymore, I chose to stay with my mom. The divorce took a tool on her and I knew if I left with my father to California she’d feel even worse. She was a lovable and caring woman, I didn’t want her to suffer more. So, despite feeling crushed as I watched my father drive off with my bright future, I plastered on a big smile and took my mother out for dinner that night. That’s how a tradition of ours was made: every Friday evening we’d go and have pizza at the local restaurant. It was lovely. We’d talk and talk for hours, laugh about the silly things I did when younger and mom would tell me stories of her childhood. And when she was feeling nostalgic, she’d even talk about my father and their failed love story.
Being the daughter of a therapist had its ups and downs. The only negative things were when she’d try to scold me or treat me as one of her patients. And perhaps the most positive one was the fact that I happened to know a lot about the people who my mother had as her patients. Yes, I shouldn’t have been eavesdropping, but sometimes curiosity got the best of me and I’d find myself with my ear pressed up against her office door and listen closely. That worked until she caught me one time and after that I would be sent away from home when she was working. It was unfair. But at least it would only happen during summer breaks and I could just hang around the house, doing yardwork or staying in the garden without freezing to death. Winters were really cold here.
“Sweetie!” One day I heard my mother calling for me as I was watching TV in the living room. I was bored out of my mind and the sun was blazing outside, the last thing I wished to do was go outside.
“Yes?” I called back, too lazy to get up from the sofa. I heard my mother’s footsteps approaching and I glanced back at her.
“There’s been a change to my program, I’m afraid I will have a patient coming in five minutes.” She looked apologetic as she used her soft tone on me, “I need you to go—”
“Mom!” I whined, sitting up and pouting at her, “I don’t want to go outside, it’s so hot!”
“I know, sweetie,” Mom sighed and touched my shoulder, “But it’s the rules—”
“Mom, I was eight!” I exclaimed, outraged, “I won’t eavesdrop! I don’t care about your patients and their problems, okay?! Just don’t make me go outside—”
“We need to have a conversation about this first—”
“Are you being serious right now?!” I sprung up to my feet, staring at my mother shocked. She sighed and rubbed her forehead before looking back at me. She can’t throw me out of my own house! I’m not even curious as to what her patients have to share with her anymore! I have better things to do and my own problems to deal with!
“Yes, so just go for a walk and by the time you’ll be back—”
“I’m not going outside in this heat.” I snapped, voice sounding firm as I glared at my mother. She looked at the ceiling, trying to keep her cool and before she could say anything, there was a knock at the door. She gave me a look which said to stay put as she went to open the door.
“Dr. Kinbott.” I heard a male saying. It was the sheriff. Ever since his wife died, Tyler, his son, has been having sessions with my mom.
“Mr. Galpin, lovely seeing you and Tyler.” There was shuffling before the sheriff told Tyler to wait for him once he was done because he’d pick him up and then my mother appeared in the doorway, Tyler close by.
“Hi.” I muttered as I looked at a nervous looking Tyler. His smile was shy and he waved back. It wasn’t even the first time we’ve seen each other, I don’t understand why he’s so weird lately. His mother’s death must have had a strong effect on him.
“Alright, Y/N, I have come up with a solution.” I rolled my eyes as I watched my mother expectantly, waiting for her solution, "If Tyler is fine with you staying in the house during his session, then you’re allowed to stay.”
Tyler looked at my mother confused before glancing at me. I threw him a warning glare as my mother turned to look at him with her eyebrows raised.
“Oh—yeah, sure.” Tyler mumbled with a shrug and my mother nodded. I smiled triumphantly and plopped down on the sofa, taking the remote in my hands.
“No acting up, yes?” My mother’s voice was patronizing and I chuckled, waving the remote at her.
“Of course not, mom, I’ll be here watching TV.”
“You better.” I heard my mother whisper as she lead Tyler up the stairs to her office. I sighed in content and started searching through the channels for something good to watch. I was safe from the sun’s hot rays.
Tyler and I had never been close or on talking terms despite growing up together. We went to the same kindergarten, same middle school and, of course, same high school. Despite knowing him my whole life I never tried to befriend him. And neither did he. I didn’t like his friends, so whenever they’d try mess around with me, I’d just give them a blank stare and walk away. Tyler was the least awful one of them. The major’s son, however, was the worst one. He held himself on a pedestal and thought he was better than anyone else. My mother taught me not to associate myself with bad people, therefore I steered clear of them. I had a few friends here and there, but nobody I was too close to. I preferred being alone and the nickname my father would call me seemed to be quite fitting, lone wolf, that I was. But having Tyler come over at least thrice a week for his sessions, since my mother deemed his condition quite critical and he needed help as soon as possible, we started hanging out. Nothing too serious, but if I got bored staying home and doing nothing all day, I would walk to the coffee shop and help him out. And if Tyler’s father wouldn’t go home at the end of his shift, I would go over and we’d watch movies until we fell asleep. I guess, slowly, we became friends. After getting to know him he seemed like a nice guy and he was a nice presence to have around. He had issues controlling his anger and his outbursts, but otherwise, he was a decent guy. My mom was glad I was finally making a friend and after telling me that Tyler was a good guy, it seemed like she stopped worrying so much for me. I wasn’t aware that my mother knew I didn’t leave for California with my dad because I was feeling bad for her, and she was scared I’d die alone in this forgotten town of Jericho, without friends or family once she died.
Having someone who shared your taste in more than one thing was quite entertaining and fun. Tyler and I would find ourselves immersed in huge debates about which comics we liked most and why they were the best. When too lazy to do anything we’d lay on our backs, side by side, and listen to our favorite songs from bands we both liked. I liked to draw, so sometimes he’d allow me to make some sketches of him, only to critique it afterwards in a silly way, sometimes even drawing onto it and ruining it. But I didn’t mind, we always laughed a lot, and at the end of the day, I had his face memorized to the point I could draw every single detail of it without having him sitting in front of me. Sometimes, when my mom thought I was moody, she’d invite Tyler along to our pizza nights and we’d always have fun as we told my mother hilarious stories of our doings. We would often go and explore abandoned buildings, scaring each other with horror stories as Tyler was convinced some of them were really haunted. He’d always freak out the first and I would mock him, until hearing or seeing something weird, and then we’d be running away, laughing and talking about whether we saw was real or not. Months passed and we found ourselves kissing late at nights when we’d sit too close to each other, and it didn’t take us long to figure out what we felt was more than friendship. We had feelings for each other and despite never labeling it, we’d walk around town holding hands and both of our parents knew we were more than friends. To our horror, Sheriff Galpin walked in on us not once, but twice. It was really embarrassing for everyone and despite the Sheriff apologizing many times and assuring us that he saw absolutely nothing, Tyler made him put up a lock on his door so that such situations could be avoided in the future. My mother loved taking pictures of us secretly, when we’d be relaxing in the garden in each other’s arms and it didn’t surprise me when I found our picture on the wall. Tyler’s smile was even bigger than mine when he noticed it one time as he was headed up the stairs to his therapy session with my mom. Everything they talked about was confidential and was always kept that way. However, one night my mom got drunk and she spilled the fact that Tyler was in love with me and he was scared to say those words, because he thought I was afraid to commit to him because of my father leaving. Despite my mother assuring him that no such trauma existed in me, Tyler wouldn’t believe her. My mother wouldn’t lie with such thing, she was right. I wasn’t scared of my feelings for Tyler nor was I afraid to commit, I couldn’t wait for him to ask me to be his girlfriend. I just always thought he needed time and so I was offering it to him.
“You know,” My mother muttered, eyes closed as she had clutched her glass of wine to her chest, “You make Tyler so happy, I’m so proud of you two. You’ve been a great influence on him. He was in such a dark place after his mother’s death as his father was absent too, but you helped him realize life wasn’t about to end. He’s got so much potential in him…and he can finally see that. Oh, Y/N, do you know how much I love you?”
I chuckled, chest feeling warm at my mother’s words. I took a blanket and gently took her glass away from her, placing it on the coffee table as I placed the blanket on her sleepy form, “I know you love me, and I love you too.”
After that I realized my mother offered me important information and I needed to be the one to make that one little defying step in our relationship. If Tyler was scared to officially ask me out because he thought I wasn’t ready, I’d surprise him. So, setting up a nice date by the outskirts of the forest, we had a picnic and drank some beer. We argued about the recent comic we were both reading and why the villain wasn’t even evil, in Tyler’s opinion, but I thought the villain was a monster. So just before we could leave, I sat up and took Tyler’s hand in mine.
“You know, we’ve never made this…official.” I motioned between the two of us and he gulped, looking nervous.
“I know, but…I genuinely care for you, Y/N.” He couldn’t look in my eyes and I smiled, leaning closer to him.
“I know,” I pressed a kiss against his cheek, surprising him, “Would you be my boyfriend, then, Tyler Galpin?”
His blue eyes widened and he didn’t hesitate as he pressed his lips against mine, knocking the breath out of me. He didn’t have to say anything, I felt all of his emotions in that one kiss as our lips moved against each other, fueled by love and contentment.
“Yes, I’ve been waiting for this moment for so long.” Tyler whispered once he pulled back and I chuckled, flicking his forehead.
“All you had to do was ask, idiot.” I shook my head at him with a smile and Tyler chuckled before tackling me in a hug and starting to ramble on about our ridiculous future together.
But for some reason the good and happy didn’t seem to last for a very long time. Despite Tyler still being the same, he was becoming tense and closed off. There was an animal on the loose, killing people in the woods in terrible ways. Nobody knew what this animal was and we were forbidden from going into the woods, which was disheartening as Tyler and I loved to have picnics in a lovely clearing. High school was also in the picture again and despite being in the same class and sharing the same lessons, Tyler and I didn’t want to be joint at the hip all the time. We both had our own friends and other than sitting together at lunch and walking to and from school together, we didn’t bother each other. However, as weeks went by, sometimes Tyler would be very tired all of a sudden. He wouldn’t want to leave the house or talk to anyone else and even my mother was afraid of him relapsing. It was sudden, and confusing. He didn’t want to speak about it to anyone, not even his therapist, and as much as I tried to be there for him, I wanted an explanation too. I was his girlfriend, he could tell me. I needed to know what was happening because I wanted to help him. The worst one was when he disappeared for a week, I couldn’t reach out to him because he was blocking me out and he didn’t show up to his therapy either, but when I walked into the coffee shop to try and talk to him, he was laughing with a petite girl. She was wearing the Nevermore Academy uniform. Her hair was black and in two pigtails. When Tyler saw me, his smile faltered for a second, but he gave me a swift kiss and introduced us to each other. I found out her name was Wednesday and she was new to the Academy. She seemed peculiar, but my interest in her wasn’t great. However, Tyler seemed taken by her, which was a bit discouraging. But I gave it no deep thought and continued on with my life as I tried to find an explanation for Tyler’s hot and cold behavior. Was he always like this? Did he pretend to be nice the whole time just to charm me? That was hard to believe, because that wasn’t who he was. So I started to follow him around when I knew he was lying to me, doing my own investigation as to what was happening to my sweet boyfriend and why he had such a drastic change of character. Most of times I was left disappointed as he didn’t do much, however, I was taken aback when I saw him meeting with a red-headed woman, who treated him affectionately as if they were really close. I recognized her to be a teacher at Nevermore and so, the following day I questioned Tyler about what I saw.
“How do you know that normie teacher from Nevermore?” I asked as I continued solving equations. Tyler and I were studying together.
“Who? Me?” Tyler asked confused, raising his eyebrows at me. I sighed and glanced at him.
“Yes, you. Don’t act dumb, Tyler, I saw you in her car yesterday.” I had snapped, tired of the lies and the constant state of confusion.
Tyle opened his mouth to say something, but he closed it quickly and looked at me with his eyebrows furrowed, “Did you follow me?”
“Yes, because you’ve changed. I don’t know what’s happening with you, but you’re different. You lie and brush me off often. I just wanted answers, and since you were giving me none, I decided to get them my way—”
“Y/N, you can’t just follow me around!” Tyler’s voice raised as he smacked his pen against his notebook, looking at me annoyed, “You can get seriously hurt!”
What was he talking about, “What? Why? Tyler—what did you get involved in—”
“Listen,” He stood up and walked over, caressing my cheeks as he raised my head to look me in the eyes, “I’m fine. I’m feeling great and nothing is happening with me. That teacher comes to the coffee shop at times and after she saw I read comics she promised to bring me her collection…and that’s what happened. Yesterday, when you saw me in her car. She just gave me the comics and I left. You don’t have to worry. I just don’t think it’s safe for you to follow me around, okay, Y/N?”
Why was he still lying? He never got out of her car yesterday, they drove off, “Okay. But if I find out you’ve lied to me again, it’s over, Tyler.”
His eyebrows furrowed and he leaned down, pressing his lips against mine, “I promise, no more lies.”
But that was a lie too. He shut me out while he kept hanging out with Wednesday and each time I crossed paths with that normie teacher she’d glare at me. I tried to hold on to Tyler, but he seemed like he forgot about me, so, I stopped trying to reach out to him. It hurt and I was confused. But I didn’t want to deal with him anymore. I couldn’t be with someone who constantly lied to me. I couldn’t be with someone who smelled of fresh blood each time we hugged or cuddled. There was something very wrong with Tyler and I was scared. He wouldn’t hurt me, I was one hundred percent sure of that, but I was scared. Something in the look in his eyes changed, he wasn’t so gentle anymore. There was an unexplainable darkness behind them now, and it scared me.
Perhaps it wasn’t too late to run away.
