Wip of a Tyche x Nemesis shot

It's gonna get spicy at some point (and by spicy I mean Tyche is getting shoved into a wall, a really descriptive kiss scene and more or less unresolved sexual tension)

Nemesis hated Tyche. 

She hated her stupid old silver coin she was always flipping. Hated the way her almond eyes narrowed when she was winning at one of her games. Hated her stupid smug grin when she knows she’s being aggravating. Hated her ugly dealer's outfit with the four leafed clover stitched on its breast pocket —four leafed clovers aren’t even a Greek thing! Why does she have that? 

But what she hated the most was her stupid ‘everyone deserves luck’ mantra. It was an afront to everything Nemesis stood for. You had to work to deserve luck. It was unlucky in in itself that the goddess of luck didn't realize that. 

She wanted the goddess of luck dead. 

She tried telling this to her sister Eris —a mistake on her part, she hated Eris almost as much as she hated Tyche, but Eris was hated in a different way, and she was the only one around at the time. 

Eris just cackled and asked, “Do you want to kill her or fuck her?”

There was no silence in the House of Night that night.

She liked the way Nemesis’ face went the same color as drachmas when she was pissed. She liked hearing her rant about all the ways she’d kill her if she could (spoiler alert: she wouldn’t). She liked the way her golden eyes matched her blue ones when she was in a rage.

note: i'm writing on tumblr after almost a year and a half, this isn't that gooduprwefjod. this is just a brief intro to the possibility of a bigger series under the same reader, kinda? if it does go ahead, it will be based on the books! idk how i feel about it so far, but I'm always open to listening to feedback!

At Camp Half Blood, there remain a few things you cannot learn, no matter the amount of harsh, gruesome training you’ve gone through. 

For those who look for it, every day is a new lesson. For example, capture the flag: every game tells you more about your opponents and allies when you know how to look for it. With every game you start to notice how the  Area kids undermine the minor gods in cabin eleven, almost forgetting their existence. You notice yourself clubbed with children of another minor god, despite sharing nothing with them, you notice the way Luke’s expression goes blank and tenses up when he notices that. 

So you ask him about it late at night, away from the campfire and chaos, bodies pressed together and hips pressed against each other. He replies by biting on your bottom lip, you retaliate by pulling his hair. The next thing you know, you’re pushed up against the wall and a little over half an hour later you walk into an empty cabin eleven with a purple bruise blossoming on your neck and lips swollen red.

A corner on the room’s floor is dedicated to your siblings and yourself. and you wonder how long Luke will keep it reserved for them—for you. You wonder, will the treatment end the moment this . . . affair between you two ends? How will you explain this to your siblings then? When you finally need to deal with the jealousy that comes with being somewhat special to a counsellor.

So you learn to adapt, to take advantage of those who undermine you, and to make allies with those who understand your strength. It’s not hard getting your siblings to listen to you, after all, you are the eldest with two quests weighing down on your conscious daily, but having that achievement means little to nothing when your godly parent isn’t an Olympian. 

You sit down in the corner of the room, knees tucked in your chest and you look around. You have three siblings on your godly side, a diary hidden under Luke’s (because no one would respect your privacy, yet they wouldn’t dare breathe in Luke’s way like that) pillow containing their names, mortal addresses, mortal family’s numbers and blood types noted down.  You wonder if Camp Half Blood would have a proper funeral if any of you—not just your siblings, any of the children of the minor gods—died. Would there be a grieving period? Would someone look for you? Would they even call the families you’ve left in the mortal world or would those who care wonder what happened to you all? 

No minor god is as important as Olympians and as much as no one says it, you can feel it—you all can feel it. 

A child of Nike can win better than a child of Ares, no one gives them the credit of winning, though, it’s always beginner's luck. Camp survives on the magic and mist of Hecate and yet no one, *not one person* appreciates any of her children. Iris is responsible for most, if not all, of the communication at camp and yet no one includes her children in any conversation. Tyche and Hebe’s children are almost as joyful as the Apollo and Aphrodite campers, yet no one smiles or dances with them. The goddess of luck’s children have none here. Nemesis cradles her children, promising justice and vengeance, and Hypnos lulls his kids to sleep, ensuring no nightmares whilst they sleep, unable to do anything to the bullying when they’re up. 

Your parent is amongst these minor gods, and whilst they do care slightly more than Olympians do for their kids, you cannot help but be angry. Anger that you know will be spent on the Hermes counsellor, pushing him till he pushes you back, till you’re both breathing heavily into each other’s mouths and till your nails scratch red lines down his back, after all, it’s what you two do to each other. 

No conversation, no understanding, no labels. You two are just two teenagers angry at the world for taking their parents away. Nothing else to each other, right?

You know what I was thinking about this when the vengeance saga came out. Bc then I was like what would the YV boys Godly parents be?Along with all of the listeners with their Godly parents as well.

The boys I try explaining and the listeners are more of a feel. I tried looking up the characteristics of being a child of any of the gods to make my assigning more easier.

So here who I'd give which God's to the yv boys and their listener:

Alphonse

I can see him being a child of Tyche or Dionysus. I say this bc I can totally see him taking people luck away and playing pranks with it. Also he did throw a party to try and cope with shit so why not Dionysus.

Seth

I wanna say Hephestus or Artemis. Hephestus bc the children are great builders and mechanics. Artemis because of how passionate he loves camping and being outdoors.

Charlie

Def a Hermes kid. Bc of how he passes messages between like 3 people and not eating caught? Yeah Hermes kid.

Finn

Child of Demeter or Hecate. Honestly I can see these two fighting over him bc he loves nature but also of his Wiccan beliefs.

Faust

Aphrodite and he flaunts it. Or a twist and him being a child of Hera. It'd be kinda funny for these two goddesses fighting over him.

Auron

As cliche as it is Hades, Athena, Ares, and Nemesis. Hades and Athena are kinda explanatory. I say Ares but like a VERY downed down personality of him. I also want to say Nemesis because of their fiercely loyal to friend and vengeful to their enemies.

Lucien

Hades cliche once again and Iris bc of his bright personality. But he is a demon so honestly idk what Godly parent could 100% fit him.

Jack

Posedian, Hermes, or Tyche. Posedian bc of his love for the ocean, Hermes bc he originally had a lot of job, and Tyche bc he'd be so silly w giving people luck or taking it.

Boo

Hear me out on Child of Ares Boo. Nemesis obvi bc of how loyal they are of their friends. Hades as well bc they are really devoted to al in my opinion.

Scout

Dionysus speaks to me for Scout idk why. Bc they did kinda just came into Seth's live n was like I live here now lol.

Casper

Athena, Nike, or Tyche. Athena bc they feel smart to me and witty too. Nike bc I feel like Casper knows how to fight good. Tyche bc they seem really luck as well.

Sunflower

Iris kinda speaks to me for them I think itd be cute for them being with Finn who shows them so much flowers. I feel like they give me Artemis vibes as well, idk how to explain it.

Star

Apollo bc their a streamer, children of him feel like protecting children. So Star could easily be a streamer. Tyche bc why not use your luck for games you love playing. (They are def using it on their gacha games)

Day 4: Ghost stories

Whispers have been going around camp the last few days now that you and Leo have been back from Indiana just for the weekend.

You’ve only been able to hear a few words here and there before the people you were eavesdropping on noticed and quickly ran away.

Finally, you had enough and approached another camper, asking what was going on. An easy victim was quickly found in the Pegasus stables as it left no where to run.

At last you had the piece of information you had so desperately needed, plus you also understood why there was so much secrecy.

Initially everyone had been whispering on about ghosts and stuff, not that they were present as they were quickly found out to be just rumors.

Only that a new things had emerged from it, a “party” in the woods after curfew tomorrow, aka Saturday. Why it had to be kept secret was so obvious, the harpy’s and Chiron alike would have your heads (only the harpys, Chiron would just make your ears bleed) if they found out.

With this new information you quickly abandoned your place in the strawberry fields (despite them being horribly out of season) and made your way to the forgery to alert Leo that you were both going, just to listen to drama of course.

It was now after dark and you quietly and cautiously snuck out of your cabin (god forbid any of your siblings might’ve heard (if you had any))

You began going through the woods based on pure instinct because you were way too close to the others and a flashlight would’ve drawn way too much attention for comfort.

You could’ve sworn you heard a few twigs hear and there snapping not to far behind you. Still, you paid them no mind, if anything happened you could just apprehend whoever was there.

Finally you turned to your left, at this point just hoping that you’re close to the supposed “bonfire” that was going to happen. Let’s just say wandering in the dark alone was less than ideal.

“Boo!” from your left a figure suddenly shot out of a bush. It was embarrassing but you admittedly did get jumpscared.

“Ughh Leo!” You pushed his shoulder and ushered him out of the bush. His hair was all messy, presumably from hiding in the bush and you quickly took it upon yourself to get the twigs out.

He let out this weird little giggle and smirked, “you love me, just say it”

“Shut up and let’s go you dummy” you walked hand in hand with Leo further down the path and finally made it.

It was hard to see it at first with all the mist, charms, and illusions placed over it like a veil by the Hecate and Morpheus kids. They were really taking the extra precautions of not getting caught, especially since there was booze. (The Dionysus kid in the corner gave it away)

You two took a seat on a log (rather you sat and Leo rested his head on your lap), others were situated around and besides you just drinking away when Chiara, a child of Tyche began a tale.

When she cleared her throat and announced her topic of conversation, everyone went quiet.

Her eyebrows quirked up and began to move in an animated way. “Yknow supposedly the whole “ghost” and supernatural thing was dubbed just a rumor, but what happened to me just other day would prove that wrong.”

There was a sudden harsh wind and a shiver ran down your back, you should’ve brought a sweater. You also could’ve sworn you heard something to your distant left.

But, she continued, “there I was, it was after capture the flag and I had left some weaponry that I had only remembered to get once it got dark..”

She trailed off, the thought of monsters and such being around you in the dark was terrifying ironically enough.

Finally you snapped back for a moment, luckily she was still going on.

“And you know what I found?” She tried her best to make it spooky, and as much as you wish it didn’t, it was working.

“Let me guess, your mom?” Damian White and child of Nemesis who was sitting right besides her finally spoke his first retort of the night. Gosh it’s a wonder how they still haven’t gotten together yet. (Hinting at canon)

“It was obviously a rhetorical question Damian-“ “yea well why would you even be telling this tale if you’re so lucky?-“

Their conversation sort of trailed off but then it went silent when the sound of running was the only thing heard. And it was going straight at you guys.

Leo finally got up from his position on your lap and turned to you, sort of bunching up to be as close as possible to you. “Do you think it’s the ghost?” Despite him whispering that question, everyone else heard and began panicking.

The fact that you were all well equipped demigods seemed to have eluded you at the moment, you all shivered and stared into the abyss of darkness, awaiting your fate.

Slowly, a hoof then another and another and another emerged from said darkness, the bonfires light illuminating the being in front of you.

Chiron had been the one making the noise, and was also the one person who you had all been hiding from.

The funny thing was that he was in his pjs, he had obviously already been ready for bed and your little shenanigans (?) had ruined it.

“I-I thought there were charms up!” Somehow the Dionysus kid from earlier was suddenly sober and thinking the same thing you were.

Instead of the Hecate kid answering Chiron answered for her, “Mist is a great tool, not so great to use against a being that’s had enough time to see through it.”

With that your “party” was disbanded and you all went back to your cabins with hefty punishment in your futures.

There was really no way to run, especially with Chiron behind you all as you walked back to camp.

Still, it was funny seeing Leo shiver like a leaf the whole way back.

You brought your covers up and let out a breath, the day was over and you were best. This time around you were staying in bed and not sneaking off.

Except, maybe.. somehow you managed to sneak Leo in and had him there next to you all cuddled up. He was scared, you had to! (He wasn’t anymore)

You have better enjoyed that because the next morning was filled with punishment after punishment. Plus it was humiliating to be dogged on by the other campers, had to stop yourself from strangling someone the whole day.
