Original Art - Two-Gun Kid #073 Pg 02 (1965) by Dick Ayers And Frank Giacoia
From ha.com...
Outlaw Hunk Galloway has the drop on the local sheriff -- until Matt "Two-Gun Kid" Hawk charges in to even the odds. Here is a splendid sequence from Marvel's resurgent heroic period, when editor/author Stan Lee sustained the creative momentum with the Western titles even as the company's revamped line of superhero titles was gathering steam toward the development of a coherent Marvel Universe. A marginal note indicates that Lee had intended to give the badman the name of Gab Galloway, a punning reference to jazz artist Cab Calloway. Ayers usually inked his own pencil compositions, but here Giacoia applies the right finishing touches to emphasize Ayers' virile and robust imagery.

BHOC: MARVEL TALES #100
Despite the fact that it was a reprint title, MARVEL TALES didn’t miss the opportunity to go oversized for its 100th issue, a trend that had started with the centennial issues that Marvel and DC were putting out. It’s kind of a mixed bag, in that one of the secondary features doesn’t have any relation to the lead character, Spider-Man. But it was still entertaining, even if it cost more coin than…

Society if J M DeMatteis had written the story arc that trapped Two-Gun Kid in the future ...
Way better handle on comedy than Slott
Actual experience with cosmic Marvel and cosmic storytelling in general
Very frequently engages with the Jewishness of his characters. It would be nice to have literally any comics that explicitly talk about Matt being Jewish without being antisemitic about it.
Able and willing to tackle questions of legacy and obligation, particularly relevant to Two-Gun Kid and his dual role as gunfighter and defense lawyer who can't practice law in the present
Nonzero chance of more gay subtext with Hawkeye
#she-hulk 2003#marvel#two-gun kid#Matt Hawk#Matthew Leibowicz#J m dematteis#Like I don't mind Matt being in a comedy book#it's just that slott's comedy sucks and the sensational seven going out of its way to make antisemitic jokes about Matt fucking sucks
