Me: I don't like the name "Gomer Goof", "Gaston Lagaffe" was better My aunt: starts calling him Gomer Gaffe instead Me: That wasn't… exactly the part of the name I object to most but I appreciate it the sentiment every time I complain about the name my dad goes on about how "Gomer is a classic american name" and how "Gomer Pyle is a really recognizable name" and I'm just like "I have literally no idea who that is but Gaston I recognize from Beauty and the Beast soooo" All that said and done, Gomer Goof is at least a better name for Gaston than "Dickie" and "Birdbath" is for Spirou and Fantasio.

You ever think about how Obelix's career is "Menhir Delivery Man" like it's his job to make and carry Menhirs. He also doesn't have any money, he's mostly bartering these menhirs but other menhir sellers take actual money for them Of course, there's the issue where Obelix starts making bank off menhirs but I'm not talking about that one. I'm mostly wondering why people are buying menhirs what do they need them for. Obelix brings people menhirs as gifts too and sometimes they dont have space Obelix gives the townsfolk menhirs as trade sometimes too, where do they go? These menhirs just disappear. Does Asterix have like a place out in the woods where he puts the many menhirs Obelix has probably given him over the years? Who knows, I certainly dont Too many people focus on Asterix's job being the "best warrior in the village" where's the "Menhir delivery man" analysis at huh? I wanna see that dialog broken down. Does every village have a menhir delivery man? Certainly they wouldn't be as good at it as Obelix is

Also if you somehow haven't noticed Galois is incredibly enamored with the life story of his namesake, although he isn't actually that interested in set theory. He loves his name, but is sad that so many people don't know who the original Galois was. I'd say when he was in middle school he tried to get Galileo and Archi to rp as their namesakes but literally nobody else was on board I think I'm gonna make it that Galileo and Galois are regular cousins, although tbh I don't think they're particularly close. Galois probably enjoys being around people but I wouldn't be surprised if he got intimidated by his family even if they were incredibly nice people it's just that a lot of people are probably wowed enough as is by the fact that he can do the calculations to figure out how to potentially make something to solve a problem but the rest of his family can do that and then also implement without feeling weird and it's like oof Also the actual Galois supposedly felt very lonely towards the end of his life, albeit that was due to the fact that he had just been in jail for a long time.
