This realization i had was a few months old, and I'm basically copy-pasting this on that same month from one of my community posts. But I'm putting it here anyways cus idk if you guys noticed.

Is it just me, or does issue 162 of the fleetway Sonic comic look similar to the Sonic vs Shadow battle that happens outside of the space colony ark in Sonic Adventure 2?

Both sonics here have rivals, are battling in space, and they even look like they're in the same camera angle once they're racing!

And keep in mind, this issue was published in 1999 while Sonic Adventure 2 was released in 2001.

Really makes you question if it was a coincidence or a reference sneeked in there since not that many people know about STC.

A Step in the Right Direction - Book 2

Summary:

After the events that led to a cybug infestation in Sugar Rush, the reveal of a false king, and the eventual reinstatement of the original leadership. A thorough checking of the candy go-kart cabinet’s code was in order. During the check up, it was found that Turbo hadn’t been as “dead” as most would have wanted to be.

This led to a flurry of panic as those who could be considered in charge of the arcade’s residence struggled to figure out what to do.

It was decided that they would need to think up a plan that would keep the racer from ever destroying the livelihood of any game in Litwak’s ever again. As well as allow for him to make up for his grievous mistakes.

So, there they all were. Deep within the confines of Hero’s Duty. The chapel filled with the chosen delegates to puzzle out a suitable punishment.

A newly regenerated Turbo sat on the front row of the pews. Chained and bored out of his mind. Hoping that they would get it over with already. Surely, they knew as well as he did how it was all going to end. One short drop and a sudden stop. It'd be ludicrous to believe that he could ever have a chance for anything better. Not after everything.

SONIC NERD HERE WHO LOVES YOUR TURBO ANALYSIS VIDEO! I am here to put some of my own tism analysis in a sort of crossover fashion: Ever think about how Sonic is canon to the Wreck it Ralph universe and has probably heard about "Going Turbo" and the origins of Turbo's story? Knowing Sonic's character, WIR!Sonic no doubt has probably raised a HUGE eyebrow at hearing about this infamous game character... and also do you realize how WEIRDLY similar he and Turbo are?

Think about it: Egotistic, free-spirited protagonists of their own stories. But the difference is Sonic believes that everyone has the freedom to do what they want, but that doesn't mean that he won't be there to do what's right and stop what isn't good. As he puts it in the IDW Comics: "I live for the moment. I want to see the world, find all its thrills and adventures, and enjoy them. I want everyone to have the freedom to do that too." Turbo is a twisted version of a "free-spirit". Being spiteful and envious. In a way he is kinda like Scourge from the Sonic Archie Comics.

In short: A Sonic-Turbo interaction would go hard AF.

I am not at all an expert on Sonic's character so this is a SUPER interesting comparison >:)c

You know what's awful after watching Sonic the Hedgehog 3 and getting into Dandadan? I imagine Sonic just being a nuisance to Turbo Granny. Like he hears stories about the 120 KM Grandma while exploring Japan and thinks why not check it out?

Meanwhile Turbo is minding her business in the tunnels when some sassy wannabe begins shouting for her to come out. Particularly a challenge to race and being faster than her. She obviously takes offense to it thus accepts the spiky blue rat's offer.

Cue Sonic just duping her when Turbo Granny thinks she's got him and leaves the yokai in the dust with a sonic boom. RIP any urban explorers that decide to roam her territory because we know the old lady would be in a foul mood afterwards. Even moreso if Sonic decides that Turbo Granny is perfect racing/teasing partner.
