The twins are SO smart. They successfully sneak into a MASSIVE dragon hunter operation, Ruff managed to steal that key by faking an emotional breakdown and confuse Viggo about when they would attack, they're constantly teaching the gang new words and concepts, they speak at LEAST 3 languages, they've written at LEAST one book that was on the top of some best seller list somewhere, they've memorized so many random facts that they will never need, they've managed to learn how to fly through the air and do BATTLE while working together with each other AND both heads of their dragon as ONE UNIT

It happened spontaneously, but I love AU. So… Avatar Hiccup. Hiccup considered himself an ordinary person before meeting Toothless. (Dragons can be equated to spirits, i mean relationships between people and them). Then he discovered his talent as an airbender and Toothless became his teacher. Later, other talents were discovered, which made it clear that Hiccup was an avatar.

Astrid became his waterbender teacher. Snotlout was an adept of firebender, but he sincerely did not understand how to teach, because he himself used magic on a subconscious level. Fishlegs is an earthbender, but he did not go beyond the amateur level and could not become a teacher. The twins are always on their own wave. Ruffnut is a master in airbending and can perform techniques with clouds of gas, while Tuffnut is not a master, but is ready to set fire to the gas with his sparks at any moment. The twins always come in a set.

Brothers Grimborn! Lord of Fire Viggo. The aesthetics of blue flame and lightning were created for him. So I couldn't resist. The hottest flame and deadly techniques of lightningbending made him the most terrible opponent for the young avatar, but in the future, he will become the teacher of fire magic for Hiccup. I endowed Riker with explosion magic, as for me, it suits him perfectly. An explosive mixture of rage and bloodlust.

Berserkers! Remembering Viggo's words about how the berserkers in ancient times lured the Skrills with metal, I thought about a tribe practicing metalbending. Dagur discovered his talent for earth magic much later, including metal. I like to think that Dagur could be a threat to the avatar even as an ordinary person, relying on his ingenuity and physical strength. Heather is a master of earth and metal magic, she could well become Hiccup's teacher in this matter.

They’re simultaneous.

So here I have the gang trying to lure a cat into their clubhouse with a fish. 💀 I think it’s a cute idea that they were all eating dinner as usual when Tuff pointed and said, “look it’s a cat!” and everyone got excited lol

pretty sure that Ruff has so many love interests in the HTTYD movies and is so confident and wtv because it's funny bc she's not 'conventionally attractive' or wtv, but jokes on them I actually love her, I WISH I was eret son of eret

also the shows did so good fleshing out her personality and treating her like a person (and while kinda forced and random,,, her few romantic moments with fishlegs don't make her feel like a joke)

this is just one more argument for the shows treating the gang more like people than the movies

it's cool if they're comedic relief in the movies, I get that they don't have time for all four of them to be characters, but if they were treated more like people and less like a quirky backdrop for Hiccup I feel like they would've been funnier

the twins aren't taken seriously by the SHOWS the majority of the time, but they are considerably funnier when handled by the shows and because of the scenes where they ARE treated seriously,,, in my opinion at least

Tried to redesign the riders to be a little more believable? … as in convincing but not historically accurate? Tried taking the ac:Valhalla approach, I think they look kinda cool (pls ignore hiccup he was my test & I can’t get him to look any better but this is more abt design than polish I guess)

The helmets were kind of a nightmare and irl Viking’s defo wouldn’t wear any of those designs but I wanted it to still feel like their helmets. Snotlout esp needed his horns they’re too cute I’m sorry.

Even more dnd-inspired designs! You might recognize Hiccup from an old post, I redrew him to match my current style (this started as a game where I assigned not-first-choice classes to the characters, that's why he's a druid and not an artificer or smth else!)
