Tsurune (Japanese: ツルネ -風舞高校弓道部-, Hepburn: Tsurune: Kazemai Kōkō Kyūdō-bu, lit. "Kazemai High School's Kyūdō Club") is a Japanese light novel series written by Kotoko Ayano, with illustrations by Chinatsu Morimoto. The first novel won a Special Judge Award in the Kyoto Animation Award competition in 2016, and was published by the studio in December of that year.

HIDIVE has announced that it will begin streaming the English dub for the original video anime (OVA) of the Tsurune: Kazemai Kōkō Kyūdō-bu (Tsurune: Kazemai High School’s Archery Club) anime on April 29, 2020 at 12:30 p.m. EDT.

Sentai Filmworks included the OVA on its home video release for the anime on January 28, 2020.

A fire has claimed the lives of several people and injured dozens at Kyoto Animation (株式会社京都アニメーション) studio in Japan. KyoAni as it is known, has brought us a lot of beautiful and unique creations, among them one of my all time favorites, Violet Evergarden.

My thoughts and prayers are with the entire company and the families of those affected.

We the fans have a great responsibility, although many do not know it. We are the sole reason for the existence of this world of anime and manga and the reason why some reach the top while others fall to the bottom.

It's never just anime or manga, it is art. We are responsible for the safeguarding of it and we are responsible for how we treat it. Our opinions matter, always. Our thoughts matter, our feelings and our relationship - because that is what it is, with the creators, matter.

We show our support for them and what they create through our love for their work.

There will never be a second season if people didn't watch the first. There will never be another issue if people didn't read the first.

We now more than ever need to show our support and appreciation.

KyoAni, thank you for bringing us such amazing characters and bringing them to life through your hard work and dedication.

Despite wanting to watch Kimetsu no Yaiba,

I ended up watching Tsurune: Kazemai Kōkō Kyūdō-bu.

The anime is... Is really beautiful. Like amazingly so. The whole details, motions, OST and even the sound of the bow being draw... Everything is so perfect I might cry. As expected of KyoAni.👏🏻

I was in an archery club and I had so much fun. So watching this anime really reminds me how beautiful the sport is. Of course, Kyudo is more graceful. The whole concept of the sport is breathking. The whole anime, mostly focusing on the plot too, really give an insight and info about Kyudo to us. I really wish I can do Kyudo too.

Also, KyoAni has real talent making bishounens so-

Masa-san or Takigawa Masaki (CV: Shintaro Asanuma) is a real charmer. He didn't have to flicked his hair like that. That's unfair 🤤

Fujiwara Shu (CV: Ono Kensho) is a perfect character. The seiyuu, the gracefulness in his words, movements and kyudo... Just perfect 👌🏻

Bishounens aside, the anime is highly recommended. It's really an art.

Oh. You guys should try archery too. It's really nice and fun 👍🏻

After getting the victims' family's permission, Kyoto Prefectural Police released the names of 10 of the 35 victims who died in the arson attack at Kyoto Animation, the Kyoto Shimbun newspaper reported.

Sentai Filmworks Licenses the Tsurune: Kazemai Kōkō Kyūdō-bu Anime

Sentai Filmworks has announced that it has licensed the Tsurune: Kazemai Kōkō Kyūdō-bu anime in the United States, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, South America, and other territories. The company plans to release the series digitally and on home video.

Tsurune: Kazemai Kōkō Kyūdō-bu premiered on Japanese television on October 21, 2018, and Crunchyroll is simulcasting the series as it airs.
