Greek-Bros: tsipouro
Ares: *a little thirsty after a long day of fighting*.....*looks into Olympus's literal only modern day fridge* ....oh sweet an open bottle of water. *Drinks it*
*later*
Dionysus and Apollo: *both dressed up like crime scene investigators and have set up an investigation on why Ares is on the floor pretty much unconscious*
Hermes: *deadass painting the body outline and Ares hasn't even been removed*
Artemis: *taking pictures of Ares on the floor*
Aphrodite: *sobbing thinking he's dead*
Zeus: ....well it's finally happened my hummingbird.
Hera: *equally unsurprised* yep.....we need to put a label on that tsipouro bottle.
Zeus: this is the fifth time this year.

Kretisches Kaffeetagebuch: Cafe Pontios - Kyriakos Apostolos Triantafyllidis, Zagros

I am in Athens rn it's late and my flight is buttfuck early tomorrow so I just stepped outside to the first restaurant near my hotel. It is a Greek restaurant serving Greek food in Athens Greece. I get seated next to a very American family. Mackhenzyie McAmerican was looking at the menu and asked the waitress "now the fried cheese.... is it like cheese sticks?" The waitress' English was really good and I don't know her life but I'm going to hazard an assumption and say she is probably not incredibly familiar with a US supermarket freezer section. So she said uhhh no they are circles. Which made me laugh a lil bit I'm ngl. And McAmerican like no like are they yellow cheese sticks? And this poor waitress. She said they are saganaki cheese and that's yellow kind of? And at this point instead of being a normal human being and saying fried mozzarella. She just kept saying yellow cheese sticks. Shes like the fried yellow cheese sticks that you get at restaurants everywhere (again, she said this to a Greek waitress at a Greek restaurant serving Greek food in Greece) the waitress just kept saying I'm sorry they are circles the chef can't make them into sticks. Eventually Mackhenzyie says you know the mozzarella sticks. And the waitress said no they are saganaki cheese. We don't serve fried mozzarella. My fucking god.
And then McAmerican pulls out the trump card and says well why not. We went to the restaurant down the street yesterday and THEY had cheese sticks. Which the waitress in her infinite patience said something along the lines of "okay".
I am not a pretentious tourist by any means like if you want to fly international just to sit in your hotel scroll instagram reels and eat McDonald's whatever it's your vacation and your money do what makes you happy. But why the FUCK would you go to a Greek restaurant and expect an Applebees menu.
#and then the entire table ordered pepperoni pizza and french fries#I'm sure there are American restaurant here. like I KNOW there are#you're embarassing us PLEASE#WE ARENT ALL LIKE THIS#related shameless asspats for myself but I ordered in Greek and the waitress only had to switch to English twice#to warn me about the tsipouro being strong as hell#which it was. it was so good I'm going to see if I can get some in the states#and to ask if I wanted still or sparkling water#long post

this is actually something i was offhandedly thinking about ever since u revealed silas was greek. this is long asf i kinda rambled so sorry. its silly but i love that u made him greek because im able to connect with him in a way. something about a man like silas finding joy in doing very mundane things with his darling in his home country is so sweet to me. something about picturing him buying a pack of cigs at a periptero because its so accessible lmaooo. having a stroll through an (albeit very loud) laiki. going to an average tavern at a village for dinner, not one of the expensive scammy ones, but the more affordable, & more authentic ones that has middle aged regulars because thats where the real heat is at lmao. he would totally have a koboloi on him regularly, its like a greek man staple 😭 though im not sure if hes fidgety, they're mostly used to keep your hands busy on the side, whether its during conversation, zoning out or simply watching something on tv. if he were to have one he'd be extra asf and get one of the expensive ones lol. going on a road trip to the mountains for some tsipouro at a tsipouradiko with a nice view. & he would love to take his darling to greeces historical landmarks, to just share all parts of his culture w you if you're not from there. i really love unhinged silas but domestic silas can be so good too
i had to stop every other word to google what they meant lol
i loved this so much because i do think that him acting more as a husband and not the gang leader that he is brings out this side of him, i just havent been able to capture it in words because i'm not very familiar with greek culture. You put my thoughts into words.
I think, in greece, you would see a much more laid back version of him. he wouldn't think about work, wouldn't talk about it. He would be normal for once. Just a normal husband :)

Athener Kaffee-Tagebuch: Omonia

for the weird asks, please answer all numbers with an 8 ❤️
8. how many water bottles are in your room right now? I don't drink water. LOL. I do keep one next to my bed to take pills with though. :) (Don't at me).
18. what hair products do you use? Redken shampoo/conditioner, and Ouai x Bryedo perfumed leave in shampoo and/or Moroccan oil.
28. do you wear a mask? I mean it depends. I don't really go out that much LOL.
38. a soap bar that smells good? To be extremely cliche, I've been using soap bars from the green brother's good.store. LOL. I really like the citrus one.
48. when did you first try an alcohol beverage? Lol. So I think I was 13 and it was at a fucking Greek monastery (I'm not even kidding). It was tsipouro.
send me some weird asks
