Most annoying NMJ or JC take is when someone that dislikes them is like "oh you're a fan of him? *scoff* Well obviously you've only seen cql, where he was super watered down. In the novel he's a dislikable asshole and that's the objectively superior canon I'm working from instead of your woobified fanfic." Meanwhile your main canon is novel canon and you genuinely find novel Jiang Cheng and Nie Mingjue complex sympathetic characters.
#complaining and whining about fandom#mdzs#cql#the untamed#nie mingjue#jiang cheng#WHY DOES THIS KEEP HAPPENING TO THEM#it's quite funny because in nmj's case i actually see shit from cql being carried over to novel canon to hate on him#for example my's treatment under the nie was explicitly much worse in cql because they transplanted the langya captain to qinghe#while the worst we see post-promotion in the novel is cultivators (WHO AREN'T EVEN NIE!) wiping ther teacups#(they're visiting from other clans like xichen. That's also why none of them had seen meng yao before.)#you can absolutely choose to interpret that worse things were happening to him at the hands of the nie off-page#it's definitely possible! but cql has people acting like it's objective canon#also the thing about empathy being inaccurate and biased in nmj's favor#that's another cql thing. in novel canon wwx can and does see things nmj does not notice (like the teacups!)#so even if he has some insight into nmj's thoughts and feelings it quite literally can't be showing things exclusively from his perspective#it was a pretty cool ceative decision from cql! gave us some very interesting character moments!#but sometimes i see people discuss the novel going 'and this was warped by nmj's bias i bet he was even worse in reality' girl wrong medium#in jiang cheng's case a lot of hate seems to be coming from the corner of cql!mains too#so clearly it can't be *that* big a difference in likability

See, I personally find this quest to find pagan/pre-Christian elements in Welsh/Irish literature quite unnerving - I don't know about anyone else.
There's something to be said about genuinely discovering pre-Christian elements in a narrative or story and that being where evidence and study has led you. But I see some people on this fruitless quest to find pagan elements in very Christian texts and sometimes it feels like if no pagan elements can be found, people start making stuff up out of whole cloth - and that can be very dangerous for already not-well known texts in minoritised languages!
There's already so much misinformation out there about Irish/Welsh texts and literature in general - so it hurts to see people carelessly adding to the misinformation either out of ignorance or lack of respect for the source material.
I promise you the source material being Christian doesn't ruin it - you can in fact, enjoy these myths without making them into something they're not!
#I feel like general ire towards (particularly) colonial Christianity has informed how people think of and view anything that is associated#with Christianity - and ire towards some of the ills committed in the name of Christianity is very valid actually#but what it isn't is approaching any text written in a Christian context and immediately disregarding it for having anything unique or#insightful to say. And in a Celtic languages context#this can be especially othering and almost fetishistic of an imagined pagan Ireland and Wales which was 'covered up' by Christianity#and that desire for people outside of Ireland and Wales to impose a kind of 'pagan faerie culture' onto the modern countries directly feeds#into false depictions of Ireland and Wales as 'lost in time' or as magical places full of latent pagan culture &c. which can be really#damaging in its own way against people who live in Wales or Ireland or who speak Welsh or Irish#this goes for other Celtic speaking nations too like Scotland Brittany Isle of Man and Cornwall#But Wales and Ireland tend to be the most focused on for this kind of treatment#luke's originals#Welsh#Wales#Cymblr#Irish#Ireland#welsh mythology#irish mythology#irish literature#welsh literature#Arthurian legends#arthurian literature

It bears saying that trying to determine who is a worse abuser, Lestat or Armand, is like comparing getting mauled by a lion vs. being mauled by a tiger because at the end of the day you are still being Fucking Mauled.
That is to say: it is insane that in this fandom poor little meow meow competition, the guy who literally beat the fucking breaks off Louis and dropped him from 500 feet is widely considered the lesser of the two evils
#interview with the vampire#iwtv#iwtv meta#lestat de lioncourt#armand#the vampire armand#louis de pointe du lac#char.txt#again: they are both horrible partners#but we all watched this horrible act of violence against a black person by his white lover (not even accounting yet for Claudia's abuse)#and yet everyday people get on their soap boxes and act like lestat can do no wrong#I could understand perhaps not fully grasping the depth of armands abuse especially as we are still constructing the whole story in the show#book fans have a level of insight that they dont always understand tv only's want to experience live and not though back handed replies#but everyday this fandom shows that it actually dgaf about violence against black bodies#and armand fans are not clean of this some of the comments made about louis deserving his treatment in ep 5 and even the way ppl talk#about the trial: yall are fucking despicable

I keep seeing headcanons and imagines about us/self-inserts being like..;;; always on Unknown's lap or being held there by him as like a comfort thing (I think?) or just to chill there with him
But like ;;;
I wholeheartedly know that they're are all just requests and stuff and it seems to be an idea accepted by so many people and how they like to imagine being with Unknown
But like;;
Me personally, I just. I just...don't like it..(??)
It just makes me uncomfortable for some reason and actually kinda scares me a little, the thought of being just;; grabbed and held? And;; on his lap??
It wouldn't be something I'd want to do, I mean. ;;
So I guess
Is there like..;; anything else I could do with him that wouldn't involve being so close?
See, when I thought of that concept years ago and I started working with it in my writing, it wasn't meant to be perceived as a comfort in the beginning. It was a power play. It was meant to make you feel as uncomfortable as it sounds. Unknown took you from the apartment as a knee-jerk reaction to the fact that you didn't know how to listen to him.
What's the very best way to make you feel uncertain of yourself in a situation where you have no control?
Well, in Unknown's rationale, that's to make you see what he's doing with no escape. This can be particularly even more unsettling if you were close to the RFA. Unknown's not a morally sound person, he's driven by apathy and revenge, and there's a reason why he's not the one with the route. To be able to capture his heart would take you a long time, and that kind of story arc isn't one you can complete in a mere cycle of 11 days, even for a game like MM which does it best to speed-run what would take months already.
This isn't meant to be seen as a good thing, not by any means. I don't always write the unsettling parts because I like to focus on the parts that come later once his walls are down, but this is just one of those things that people like to talk about with Unknown. What would he do in a situation where he has his assistant? He won't do what Ray does. I can affirm that. Ray wanted you to be with him and Unknown didn't want you like that.
The concept changes when we explore the foundation of these ideas.
It's not supposed to sound appealing at first. Though, it becomes a point of comfort for many people because not only does this make you vulnerable, it forces Unknown to be vulnerable as well. You can hear the sound of his every heartbeat, the way his hands twitch, and feel how his body strains itself every step of the way. At some point, it's impossible for him to maintain the air of unsettling fear. You're first when it comes to witnessing this man at his worst.
I understand that it makes you feel uncomfortable, though. That's not everyone's cup of tea. I hope you know that this is just one concept a lot of Unknown fans lot to navigate but it's not a definitive of who he is as a person. We don't know what Unknown would do with someone as his assistant, and there's just things that we've agreed on as a fan collective over the years that have shaped how we write him as your boss.
Just because some fans write him doing this doesn't mean you have to write him doing that, and it certainly doesn't mean you have to imagine something that makes you uncomfortable.
I'm glad you reached out to say something because you're afraid that this concept means Unknown would pointedly make you feel bad and that's not good when you're hunting for fluff. You don't have to like it. That's down to personal preference! You should request stuff from us imagine blogs with the things you're into! I know that my mutuals will be more than happy to write you stuff like I am.
The last thing any of us wants to make someone feel left out.
When it comes to Unknown's proximity, it's hard for me to tell you that he'll leave you with your own personal space. Even in the game, his voice is a whisper that gets louder the closer he gets to you, and that implies that he will get closer to you if he thinks it would be to his benefit to cage you like an animal. But, by that, I mean, the worst you can deal with is him whispering in your ears, pushing you against the wall to laugh at your fear-stricken face, or circling you when you try to explain how you did something.
He doesn't have to pin you to his lap to prove that he's got the upper hand.
But, if you're looking for a comfort thing as opposed to trying to find something that doesn't unnerve you like the lap stuff, I suppose you could be subjected to hand-holding. He's not big on cuddling or stuff like that. But, let's see, I don't think he's immune to holding your hand while you sit on opposite ends of the couch. He hates proximity until it benefits him somehow. Sitting with you is a big thing for him, so if it brings you comfort, he'll stargaze with you when he's got time for a break. Apart but together.
This kind of overlaps later on with him as SE Saeran pushes away most physical contact outside of parallel play and sitting together. Because SE Saeran is just Unknown after the Secret Ending. They hold onto the same ideals, the only difference is that there's no more elixir and anger to drive his ideals.
#ask#mystic messenger#anon#mysme#saeran choi#mysticmessenger#mm#choi saeran#mod kait#and i have to say this because if i don't i know it'll get misconstrued but just because we like to explore this these concepts with unknow#doesn't mean we condone his crimes or his treatment of the player. we're exploring the concept of what it would be like to be caught#and his character isn't going to be nice if we're framing this from pure canon insight rather than what you might use in fanon for comfort#you don't have to consume the stuff you don't like#cultivate what you want to see and ask for what you want!

daily whistlebreeze until spo becomes PoV day 1398
I like seeing how different I can make gray cats by throwing Whis at them; anyways, Spotfur's been on my mind tonight
#warrior cats#whistlebreeze#spotfur#windclan#medicine cat#warrior#mostly thinking about all the potential she has that was never really used#how Spotfur's rebellion flopped so badly by being Like That#and how she literally stopped existing in ASC#woman has a COMPLICATED relation with having children because her mate died#next arc she's just a generic queen#goddamn these books piss me off sometimes with how neglectful they are about their characters#and it's not like this surprises me. Let's remember I am DAILY WHISTLEBREEZE#I have been drawing a random nobody for nearly four years now and you can still barely give anything Specific about Whis from the books#yeah FrostWhistle. Whis is kind and helpful and they saved each other and it's cool#yeah Ivypool's heart is a thing#but does it really characterise Whis in any interesting way whatsoever?#in my opinion not really no#I've searched fro every instance of Whis appearing on screen and it's mostly Whis being thrown around by the plot or the other cats#or by a fucking rabbit#a few cool things you can say is how Determined Whis was to save Leafkit. that's something#and you could also say that Whis prioritising helping Frost above obeying The Code is something too#but you have to Extrapolate all of this#the books don't give you any insight on what's going on in Whis' mind#and they won't#and that's what they do to most cats in their books#and we all know it and we all just see canon happen and then take the bits that interest us and make it Better#and yeah Spotfur is one of those cats that would really enjoy that treatment#Spotfur has drama on both a political level and interpersonal one (Bris Stem her kits and even her siblings just fucking off n stuff)#and they made her such a weak character by giving us Spotfur's rebellion

I just rewatched The Winter Soldier for the nth time and it's just such an amazing movie. The perfection of the weapons designed to 'stop threats before they can happen' shooting themselves down because they, and the philosophy they symbolize, are the real threat, and that Captain America, who uses a shield instead of a weapon, leads the charge against them. It messes me up every time.
#it's the only marvel movie i still care about#something about the way friendship is at the center of a movie all about betrayal#as SHIELD realizes it's own philosophy of compartmentalization and lack of trust lead to it's own downfall#when infiltrated by an enemy who uses it against them#and then there's all the people who step up and try to fight back anyway#thr tech who refuses to launch the helecarriers#the pilots who try to help bring them down#the guards who block the insight crew#and I literally just realized this watch through that#the reason hydra needed bucky barnes for the winter soldier#is because the super soldier only works properly on truly good people#otherwise it gives you the red skull treatment#i knew all this i just never put it together why hydra would prefer a mind controlled good guy to one of their own#winter soldier#winter soldier meta#winter soldier analysis#fandom#fandom stuff#fandom meta

Ever since kenobi gave us a better look at vader and the grand inquisitor's tenuous team ups, it makes me think he preemptively called vader over from mustafar to execute trilla. She was going over both of their heads, planning 2 go straight 2 palpatine. My girl was brave as fuck and truly HAD IT. Beeline to the ceo, said fuck middle management and the TIE they came in on. no, i don't have an appointment, palpatine's gonna take this walk-in.
#posting this over here too bc this realization hit me like a uh speedertruck during lunch 2day#trilla suduri#second sister#reva's treatment gave us such incredible contextual insight into trilla's experiences in the inquisitorius#she was treated as SECOND class#she was not one of them even when she was one of them#she was a means to break/turn cere#and they would not let her forget it#if anyone deserved to crawl out of the evil that was the empire it was the girl dragged into it#she was not one of them and GOOD what consolation what peace to have that be her truth in the end#in the wake of all the new gameplay i am Thinking of Her

#i should've just gatekept scott thompson from my college bc the way my college is treating me right now is bullshit#like i don't even want to do the scott event anymore bc of how they're treating me but i kind of have to#and i know i should be grateful they're even letting me be one of the interviewers but i hate being a student so much#i hate how nobody respects my opinion or input or experience even tho i'm literally the reason scott's even doing this event#(and ESPECIALLY the reason he's willing to do it for free!!)#and it especially stings bc scott has never made me feel like my insights were worth less because i'm a student#like he's always been one of the few people who consistently treat me like we're equals even tho he doesn't have to#and the way my college is treating me. it's like they don't trust me to not be an annoying little kid#like they're just assuming scott doesn't respect me so they don't have to respect me either#i mean on the plus side i'm supposed to have another phone call with scott either today or tomorrow so i can probably explain the situation#like i don't want to make him feel negatively about my college i want him to have a good time#but this treatment is genuinely fucking with my self confidence#and also maybe i can harness scott's power to hear ''don't talk about this thing'' and immediately make the interview all about this thing#(except in this case it would be him treating me like an equal instead of a random student)#and there's a bunch of bullshit currently going on with the class i have right after the event#so even tho originally i was like ''awesome i have the perfect schedule to bring scott to all of my classes!!''#i might just ask scott if he wants to skip class together and hang out. like i never promised that class anything#the only thing i *have* to do is the interview. the class we'd be skipping is already being like#''oh are you sure scott wants to visit the class i don't want to take him away from a better use of his time''#and scott was genuinely excited to see what my classes were like!! even if y'all didn't treat him like a big celebrity!!#but y'know what i'm sure scott does have a better use of his time. and i do too.#i'm gonna do the interview event bc i have to (we're in too deep at this point)#and i might ask scott if he wants to talk to that freshman film class about the buddy cole doc#bc 1. they offered to pay scott for that (they can't legally pay me but that's why i made the joke about money laundering)#2. since it's about the doc it's the one class where i get to be treated like an actual person#but other than that. damn it i was excited to share this part of my life with scott but fuck that this part of my life sucks#i'm gonna have a good time with scott in boston and my college is only going to be as much a part of is as they have to be#because we ARE friends (scott said so!) and i AM a brilliant filmmaker (bruce said so!) and i DO have potential (bellini said so!)#even tho it is hard to internalize those things after how much yesterday fucked me up. but that's ok scott will call again soon

Been seein some rather cold takes about Daisy lately…
I’ve seen some people say that she has no personality outside of fanon, but that’s just not true. There is a very very common misconception among the fandom (at least that I’ve noticed) that if a character doesn’t appear in a “mainline” game, then they have no personality. But I’d argue that the spinoffs actually offer waaaaay more in terms of looking into character personalities. And no, I’m not talking about the RPGs ala M&L and Paper Mario as those are obviously full of personality (and Daisy isn’t in those). I’m talking about the Party, Kart, Tennis, and other sports games.
Yes, Daisy hasn’t appeared in any mainline game since her debut, but she’s been in nearly every sports game and her traits, stats, abilities, victory/loss animations, and various other tiny details add up to her personality. The fact that she’s nearly always yelling or just speaking really loud in general (noticeably more than any other character), the fact that she constantly feels a need to say her name and make herself known, how she loves flowers and considers even a small patch of flowers worth protecting, how she’s easily bored by tasks that don’t excite her and isn’t so reliable for them. She tends to jump around a lot, and spin and dance around when she’s excited! She’s apparently a rather fast runner and that is considered her specialty! These are all traits that are displayed in the spinoffs, and there’s probably soooo many more that I just can’t remember right now.
Now, I do think her tomboyish nature is probably fanon, as I don’t really remember seeing anything to show that she acts that way in the games. I think people probably think she’s tomboyish due to how loud and energetic she is. But hey, there’s plenty of fanon for just about any character from any fandom out there. And what’s so wrong with that? Isn’t the whole point of making fanworks to expand on the framework already provided by canon? If we want to stick to what’s actually “canon” then nearly everything the fandom has created would have to be tossed, because there really isn’t much to work with. Fanworks and fandoms thrive on what fans can create based on the canon work, not just sticking to it perfectly.
It’s fine if you think the “fanon” Daisy outshines the “canon” Daisy and you dislike that. But to say that she has no personality aside from fanon interpretations just tells me that you have a very narrow idea of what counts as “canon” in an already rather simplistic world. The Mario games are very simple and straightforward without much consistent lore that actually makes sense cohesively, but the characters are what keep everything tied together despite that. The characters are nearly always consistent, and that includes Daisy. Even when the setting is completely different and some random new villain shows up with some random new power source to steal or species to torment, our same well-known lovable characters will be the center of the story and that’s what makes it fun!
#devin speaks#super mario bros#princess daisy#i mightve gotten a bit too personal with my views of canon vs fanon but i still think it needs to be said#people who argue over what is considered canon in a video game series are so funny to me#especially a series like mario that has expanded soooo far from its original premise#its different than a show or movie since most shows will finish their main story before delving into spinoffs#most of the mainline games are literally just bowser kidnapped the princess and mario has to save her#very few of them offer any insight to personality of anyone#that isn’t to say theres none at all but i still think the party kart and sports games offer waaay more#of course everyone is entitled to their own opinions and if you dislike daisy or think shes boring then whatever you do you#i am simply sharing my opinion as well :)#sorry time to be salty real quick#literally the entirety of waluigis personality comes from the spin offs but no one talks about him???#he is literally in the same boat as daisy but i never see anyone saying they dislike him for his ‘fanon personality’#really makes you think#people rag on peach for ‘having no personality’ too but hers shines through the spinoffs as well#and even the rpgs!! shes actually in those and has multiple voicelines and cutscenes and people *still* say she has no personality!#i know this is about daisy but gosh mario ladies in general are treated rather poorly unless theyre eye candy#im glad rosie debuted in a mainline game with a clearly given backstory spoon fed to the player so she doesnt get this treatment lol

thinking abt (1) that post abt how most censorship is preemptive self-censorship¹ (2) bras²
⸻ ¹ wow, tumblr search actually worked for once??? ² i do understand and respect that for many people bras serve an actual structural function wrt support/comfort! however, for many other people (hi!) they do not, at least in everyday non-sports contexts, and that's the set of concerns i'm speaking to here.
#i mean for me personally it's also like. sometimes/often/always i don't want to have visible tits‚ for Gender Reasons#so rendering them more compressed & visually ignorable is a move in the right direction#but that's sort of seasonal (which sounds insane‚ but‚ idk‚ in the summer the visible body hair helps balance out the visible tits???)#so it's like. objectively very obvious that i ought to go braless more in the summer#when it would bother me less visually and dramatically increase my comfort levels#and i do‚ in the house! but like. when i go out i still feel the need to render myself Presentable and i'm mad about it#bc like. yeah it's partially a trans desire to hide my chest but like. is that actually separable from the way women are socialized#to manage their breasts to HOA-approved standard or else open themselves up to a whole gamut of inappropriate treatment. (no.)#and so it's really just like. reimposing many different shades of cisheteropatriarchy on myself simultaneously#but unfortunately the only way out is to just. accept all the bad reactions i'm living in fear of. but those DO feel bad!#as always it's like. hard when yr self-protective conditioning isn't serving you wrt being a free person#but IS a rational reaction to the hobbled reality of yr actual existence…#like. easy to say 'just ignore those worries.' and maybe i will‚ at least in the context of like. casual public appearances#but like. even if the material consequences are unlikely‚ for me‚ to be more than unpleasantly judgmental stares—#that's still a real emotional consequence that has an impact on my well-being! but so does the self-censorship.#anyway. too many tags & no novel insight. just like. sux lol#(also usually on here i omit any discussion of Tit Management Issues bc it's my space where i get to pretend not to have a body)#(but like. that's self-censorship of a kind too.)#embodiment (is violence)

it's kind of a shame the devs back in tto never thought to give certain NPCs, particularly the storyline and SOS-relevant ones, special outfits that no one can obtain as a way for them to stand out from the others. i'm pretty sure i've said this before but i've always been fond of the alternative outfits clara, flippy, and professor pete wore in their character trading cards and i think it would've been neat to see how they'd go about making personalized designs for all of them in accordance to their role in the tooniverse/personality/shtick (if applicable).
pretty sure the closest thing the folks over at disney did to give their npc's "uniqueness" aside from their shops was altering flippy's in-game model/making it so that his name can't be something that's accepted by players so people can't make a toon thats an exact replica of him and giving two (2) npc's colored gloves but that's it.
#toontown#toontown online#toonblr#toontag#talking tag#hello toontag i am once again thinking about trading cards and bestowing my thoughts that literally no one asked for#character design is something i find myself thinking about from time to time.#in games you see how main or important characters are given designs or styles that match with the personality they were written with#yet toontown despite being a game where 95% of its NPCs are related to a shtick or a pun of some sort isnt given that same style treatment#which i suppose makes sense since i dont believe toontown started out with a big budget and we didnt get accessories until 2011#but that won't stop me from wondering about what could've been if they had the resources for it#but i digress. i'm mostly using the tags as a place to dump whatever comes to mind rather than making insightful commentary#i'm always appreciative by how punny nearly every shop/npc is. not necessarily bc i find them funny (altho some are)#but by how much effort it took to come up with shops + names that also correlated with the playground they're apart of#it's a detail abt toon society that i'm sure ppl are vaguely aware of but not something thats cared for much since we dont talk to or#go in 90% of the shops#which is fair. but the detail is something that i can't help but be charmed by and have to pay attention to#the whimsy of being committed to the bit even when no one's watching

#one of the biggest whiplashes we experienced this year in our book club was going from reading the house in the cerulean sea#to reading the marrow thieves next#as both stories drew inspiration from the awful cultural genocide of the indigenous/native american people in canada#but the tone and treatment of the subject matter couldn't have been more different#i definitely recommend the marrow thieves more it's got lovely prose and insights from a writer who isnt writing from a purely outsider pov#p

A character who has, I believe, had a whole couple of sentences about them and none of that was in canon chapters (iirc anyway).
It's Alicia!
CW: child abuse mentions – her parents are pretty crappy to say the least
She's Phoenix's sister, three years younger than them, although they haven't seen each other since Phoenix was disowned. They used to be very close, so not seeing each other is... hard, for both of them. But although Phoenix sends cards, they don't ever leave a return address or phone number because a) they don't want to get Alicia in trouble and b) they think she's probably better off without them, and Alicia hasn't managed to find them, partly bc she'd like a place to live until she can move out and their parents WILL disown her if they find out she's been in contact with Phoenix.
Yeah. They're about to have 0 children talking to them once Alicia leaves home (so as soon as she moves away to uni, or potentially before then if something goes wrong).
That doesn't stop Alicia once she does find Phoenix though, but that's later. Five years after Phoenix was disowned, actually – they're 21 and she's 18, in her last year of sixth form.
When Alicia grows up, she's going to be a social worker (not she'd like to – she will, goddammit, she's determined). Her parents think she's going to work for the local government in some sort of sycophantic job (and it speaks to how little they know her that they think that's not suspicious), but she's not. No way. She's sick and tired of the way children with powers are treated by the law sometimes, of how trans children are treated, of how neglect isn't seen as child abuse unless it's, like, a lack of basic necessities – her and Phoenix were fine, obviously, because they weren't being beaten (nevermind the homophobia and transphobia in the household which got worse when Alicia was outed as pansexual, or the yelling, or the way their parents just didn't care so long as they looked like the perfect family – yes, Alicia tried to report her parents once, and it didn't go anywhere. Phoenix took the blame for doing that and she's never forgiven herself). Anyway, she plans to go into social work, because no child should be treated the way she and Phoenix were, and just because a child has powers doesn't mean they're any more able to look after themself when they're small and fall off the flat roof because their parents weren't paying enough attention to them, thank you very much.
There are way too many adults like that in the world.
Anyway, she wants to go into social work because it'll help people directly, and she thinks it's the best way to do it. She considered becoming a therapist or a politician, but she thinks she'd be shit at both of them. She'll have to deal with police as a social worker, but hey, she can do that.
And, as she's soon to find out, she can get autographs from some of the city's heroes for the children. Phoenix, Kai and Aaron are more than happy to help. She's already on the books with several youth/children's charities she volunteers with, although she has to be careful around her parents – not that they'd care much, most of the time, but just in case it was one of Those Days that they found out.
Her parents will find out what she plans to do if when she applies for student finance. Which'll be a trip and a half, but hey, at least then she'll definitely be able to apply as someone who's estranged from her parents. And she has somewhere organised to live if needs be.
Besides, she doesn't think they'd kick her out just before or during her exams. It'd look bad.
As you can probably tell, she's very passionate, and protective of her sibling. She loves them very much.
She also loves flowers and nature. She dyes part of her frizzy hair white bc she thinks it's fun, although the rest of her hair is the same bright red as Phoenix's. They are very clearly siblings (and they have the same eyes – she's been mistaken as Firebird before and will be again, and she's trying hard not to think why that might be). She wears a flower crown whenever she can get away with it. She adores picnics and prodding Phoenix into infodumps. She is also, unsurprisingly, very ADD – she's related to Phoenix, after all. She has not yet figured out which member of the family it's inherited from.
She will punch you in the face if you insult Phoenix or herself even vaguely, especially Phoenix – and she can punch very well. People don't tend to bother her much. She went to a different secondary school to Phoenix though, so she couldn't do much defending them there. Phoenix went to her parents evenings when they could, because their parents certainly wouldn't, and her best memory is of them taking her to the zoo to meet wolves for her birthday. They went for ice cream afterwards (two scoops for Alicia bc she's indecisive, one strawberry and one vanilla – Phoenix joked that it matched her hair).
As you might've guessed, her favourite animal is wolves. They're also currently one of her hyperfixations.
She has possibly hundreds of unsent letters and drawings to Phoenix hidden under a loose floorboard under her bed which nobody knows about, covered in boring textbooks corporate textbooks just in case anyone does find it. They don't have Phoenix's name on, as an added layer of protection, but they're for them. One day she'll be able to deliver them.
One day.
Also under there are Birthday and Christmas letters from Phoenix (and one treasured note from Kai containing a phone number).
As you can probably tell, she really misses Phoenix. The house feels empty without them. But she has a decent number of very good friends, which helps. And she's counting down the days until she can leave.
Also, her favourite colour is purple, and she hates marmite with a passion. Watching Star Wars makes her sad, although she does, every year on Phoenix's birthday – the same way that Phoenix watches Princess Bride every year on her birthday, even though they haven't spoken for years and neither of them likes the other's favourite film much alone.
Believe me, once she meets Phoenix again, Kai and Aaron won't know what's hit them (it's like... double Phoenix, except bubblier and quicker to punch and slightly less traumatised. Also very chatty, Kai's starting to regret giving her his phone number 😂).
Picrew!:

I just read this article and honestly it's kind of dumb. The author clearly has a strong opposing stance to the claims of the original post from the get go rather than a research mindset. The single claim of "Tetris in particular can cure ptsd!" Is obviously not scientifically probable in every case but the point of the variations of the Tetris tip and why it gets passed around online is that when you have just seen or visualized something you did not want to see (like an intrusive memory or thought) it's obvious that a distraction, especially a visually engaging one that reuses and reinforces the interneuronal clusters that conjured the first intrusive image in a certain combination, makes it less likely that the image which will most stick with you is the random intrusive one. The author of this article even admits that Tetris can have this effect but that it's the same as playing any game and like... That's exactly the point of the tip. If you have an intrusive thought, instead of treating it like an elephant in the room your mind keeps going back to bc you have to tell yourself not to think about it, treat it like an accidental scrape in your current mood that can be easily patched and filled by treating yourself well with something more engaging and actually interesting to you. Tetris is just the example used in some of these studies and which worked for the individual poster. Science is the study of physical reality, this article is completely pointless because it is debunking a claim about said physical reality that are being directly misinterpreted from an actually perfectly understandable metaphor.
The Tetris PTSD story is going around again so now I have to update y'all, it's been debunked, pop sci has lied to us again

#Referencing a statistical study to “debunk” a physically understandable and replaceable mechanism of neurocognitive function is inanity.#obviously 'just play' tertris isnt passing actual clinical trials because its not a clincal treatment. its a tip for self help and harm#reduction that can only be individually triggered and evaluated.#not trying to come off as harsh? bc i understand the feeling of needing to be able to debunk treatments that get wholesale recommended to#every single person as an instant miracle cure but this article is not medically treatment generative or particularly insightful in my#opinion.
