January 18, 2024!
What a relief it was to finally reach Delhi after about two days of journey!
First the Rajdhani, we were supposed to travel in, got cancelled. Then, we booked tatkal tickets on another train, but it got delayed for 12 hours. When we reached Cuttack station to board that train, we found out the train hadn't even started from Puri, its destination station. We had to wait for another 4 hours before we could actually board the train and start our journey. And after spending about 36 hours on the train, we reached our destination.
But our journey didn't end there, as we had to travel to my sister's house in Panipat. After spending 3 more hours on the bus, we finally reached the warmth of home.

(grabs you by the shoulders) you have to make room for new experiences in your life. you have to go through the unpleasant work of leaving your comfort zone, even if just for a few minutes at a time. because if you don't, your brain will trick you into stagnation. you will start to believe that the world can barely fit you in it. but that's not true. it's the opposite way around. you can fit the whole word inside of you. your task is only this: to welcome it with open arms
#i know we are all neurodivergent and executive disfunction and routine disruption is kicking our ass and it's hard. but you have to.#and i dont even mean like. travel to another country i mean#take the other bus home#or buy a different tea brand#YOUR BRAIN IS A MUSCLE EXERCISE IT.

Remembering the Fung Wah Bus: NYC to Boston’s Wildest Ride
If you ever needed to get from New York City to Boston (or vice versa) on a tight budget, chances are you’ve heard of the legendary Fung Wah Bus. For years, Fung Wah wasn’t just a cheap way to travel—it was an experience. From its unbeatable prices to its wild reputation, Fung Wah was the stuff of urban travel folklore. Whether you loved it, hated it, or were just slightly terrified by it, one thing’s for sure: it was unforgettable.
The Birth of a Legend
Back in 1996, Fung Wah Bus started out as a little-known service shuttling people between Chinatown in NYC and Chinatown in Boston. Tickets were dirt cheap—sometimes as low as $10! Founder Pei Lin Liang had no idea he was about to start a revolution in intercity travel.
While companies like Greyhound and Amtrak charged way more for the same trip, Fung Wah attracted students, immigrants, and broke adventurers. The buses were simple: no Wi-Fi, no comfy seats, no frills—just a bus, a driver, and a promise to get you where you needed to go (more or less).
The Fung Wah Experience
Let’s be honest—riding the Fung Wah wasn’t for the faint of heart. The buses weren’t exactly luxurious, and the drivers? Let’s just say they had skills—skills that often felt like they were auditioning for NASCAR.
The stories from Fung Wah rides are legendary. Overheated engines? Check. Buses randomly pulling over on the highway? Oh yeah. Packed seats and questionable smells? You bet. But somehow, that was part of the charm. It was like a rite of passage for college students and budget travelers.
Despite the occasional chaos, people loved it. Where else could you spend a few bucks and make it to another city with enough left over for lunch?
The Rise of Chinatown Buses
Fung Wah’s success kicked off an entire industry of “Chinatown buses.” Suddenly, other companies were offering the same cheap rides between cities like Philadelphia, D.C., and Boston. These low-cost buses gave traditional carriers like Greyhound a run for their money, forcing them to drop prices and rethink their business models.
For a while, Fung Wah ruled this space, becoming the go-to option for anyone looking to save cash. Sure, it wasn’t the safest option, but hey—it got the job done.
The Downfall
But all good things must come to an end. Fung Wah’s fast-and-loose approach eventually caught up with it. Over the years, the company faced growing scrutiny for safety violations. There were crashes, breakdowns, and federal investigations.
By 2013, regulators had had enough. The U.S. Department of Transportation shut Fung Wah down, citing major safety concerns—like cracked bus frames. They tried to make a comeback in 2015, but it didn’t stick. And just like that, Fung Wah was gone.
A Legacy That Lives On
Even though it’s no longer around, Fung Wah lives on in the hearts (and memes) of those who rode it. It wasn’t just a bus—it was an experience. For many, it symbolized freedom, adventure, and a chance to explore without breaking the bank.
Today, plenty of budget bus options exist, and they’ve learned from Fung Wah’s mistakes. They’re safer, more reliable, and (sadly) less chaotic. But ask anyone who remembers Fung Wah, and they’ll tell you—it was something special.
Fung Wah in Pop Culture
Over the years, Fung Wah has become a bit of an urban legend. It’s been mentioned in stand-up routines, memes, and indie films. For those who rode it, these nods bring back memories of cramped seats, fast drivers, and the thrill of cheap travel.
Why We’ll Never Forget
Fung Wah wasn’t perfect, but it was iconic. It made travel accessible for people who couldn’t afford Amtrak or didn’t want to deal with Greyhound. It connected communities and opened up a new way to explore on a budget.
If you ever rode a Fung Wah Bus, you’ve got a story to tell. And if you never did? Well, you missed out on one of the most chaotic, thrilling, and oddly charming travel experiences ever.
Fung Wah may be gone, but its legacy is still rolling. Here’s to the little bus line that changed the game—and made the NYC-to-Boston trip one heck of an adventure.

My Dubai Trip Experience
Hi there, I am Meghna Vyas. I am new on facebook. Currently I develop my interest in traveling, who doesn't like travel and explore places where you can learn about different culture, festival and food. Experiencing diversity is something that everyone love. Recently I visited Dubai and got to know from the locals that it was mostly a desert 20 to 25 years ago. I did Skydiving at Palm Jumeirah first time, and it was an amazing experience. We hired bus service from Sentro Bus and exploring the various architectural monuments and metropolis added more fun in this journey. The tikka role from Local Bites Cafe was mouthwatering and Emirati-style pancakes, Chebab, that I tried first time in my life was made from sour cheese and sweet date syrup was delicious in every way. Staying in Dubai will always be be in best trip.

Sometimes I want to bring Morrigan but then I remember I play as a face-tanking rogue and I bring Wynne. Warden Cousland, Morrigan, Wynne / Dragon Age Origins (c) Bioware
#dragon age#dragon age fan art#comic#morrigan#warden cousland#healer#bioware#dao#dragon age origins#hero of ferelden#cousland#wynne#I'm back. I guess.#I did not notice at first but apparently I took a break from tumblr. I've already had several breakdowns over the dashboard.#(turns out I was on the 'for you' tab rather than the 'following' tab. the theme had changed as well. absolutely insufferable.)#I've felt really unconnected for a while but it actually feels better now? as if my tumblr mutuals was the missing link.#very healthy and hot of me ngl#so. I had a two week holiday this year and they were instantly slurped up. it went so fast!#there was this big football thing the week before my holiday - basically teams of teens come from all around the world to play etc.#I heard a girl tell her teammates that 'I'd love to travel on this bus every morning; happy people all around you; just add some music...'#she was also very excited when the bridge opened. the 'happy people' around her sighed bitterly and leaned back for a ten minute wait.#it is thankfully over now. the bus home is no longer stuffed full of football teams. but it's a fun experience for the players etc etc etc#well. in other thrilling news I went to spy on our sister shops during my time off. to see what they do differently. maybe steal some ideas#one store was like an instagram post with fancy teacups and stylish outfits. who knew a second-hand store could be so boring.#the other was like a man-cave with furniture and a passively-aggressive note by the toys stating that 'if u break it u pay. idiot. tnx<3'.#the man-cave was my favourite :)#rant over now! take care and bye etc!

I know a lot of people would disagree and I understand the warning against it but traveling alone was honestly some of the most fun I've ever had 🥺 also like, the amount of nice interactions you get, both with other lone travellers or locals (especially older people who like chatting : D)
#Thinking about the lady who was resting on the statue of Mozart that's on the way to that mountain inside Salzburg#When I was climbing to look at him she misunderstood and made space for me to sit down#And then told me about about this place and how in most days you can hear birds every morning#Or the Scottish guy I met at the bus stop who's travelling only to see weird military history places#Idk it was fun

it’s understandable that guys kept falling in love with gerard because he has a sweet face and big eyes and he’s so earnest about stuff that even though he’s sometimes kind of a loser it just contributes to making him irresistible but i think guys kept falling in love with mikey because he was like doing blood magic on them or something
