Koholint wasn’t real

Fanfic prompt : you know how in link's awakening you wake up on an island that turned out to be the dream of the wind fish

That made me think that every character on Koholint was created and written by the dream god

It chose for Marin to fall in love with link

It chose to let her know that it was a dream

It chose to let the monster be somewhat aware of the dream

It chose for link to traverse the island and have to collect the instruments

It chose for link to see an appearance of it called the wind fish

It chose to make koholint disappear

It had full control

Every thought every single decision made by all characters

The god is the writer of the story

But if Marin appears in the war of eras how can it be

Because the god chose for her to appear and help win the war

It chose the stakes it chose the characters to appear

It already had chosen who lives and who dies in the war

It chose for link to realize that everyone around him was a dream

It chose to torture him with the knowledge that everyone is gone

It chose to keep sending link on adventure since he was created by the god

Every pain every injury

It chose for link to feel it to see the loss to feel the pain

It knew how he felt about it

They watched him suffer from it

He was as real as Marin

A tool for the narrative

The goddess knew his pain and even worse his very realization that he knew the goddess knew

The goddess decided for him

The goddess controls every thought , every decision

Every loss and every pain

Him knowing means she decided to let him know she knows all his feelings

For she can make him forget just as fast

She wanted him to know that the island koholint was gone because of him waking the wind fish

She chose all his adventures all his decisions

Even his questions for her

Even his hatred for her

His hatred for hylia was decided BY hylia

Every foe he fought was decided and scripted by hylia

Because he was as real as a dream

Even as eight other links appeared it was on her decision

And he realized in the moment she allowed him to realize

That she decided he wouldn’t know

She controlled legend just as much as she controlled the sun

She controlled dusk and echo as much as she controlled his life

She controlled her blood's destiny

She controlled everything related to him

Because Koholint wasn’t real

And he wasn’t either

Not since koholint or prior

Or legend realizing that he isn’t fucking real and then realized that the knowledge that he wasn’t real was decided by the goddess

And that hylia knows his pain personally because she creates it for him and the very knowledge was given to him by hylia for drama

And he really doesn’t want to be her favorite but also if he is boring she would lose interest in him and then he would cease to exist

Hylia a writer for real and her OC is Zelda

And her favorite is Legend

Because legend is a concept she gave life

Legend is a doll of her making

And also because torturing your favorite pet since they became a concept

Killing all off its kind then bringing one back to fight in a war then shove it back in a drawer

Making the little doll think that it was responsible for it

And then forcing it to interact with other people who have free will is hilarious

Even funnier if you make it think that all your other OCs have free will and let them be unaware of your influence

(We really should rescue her pet bunny and her other critters from her she is a horrible person… she a writer fr …girl leave the Zelda's alone they want agency or does she just not make them want agency and fix the problem while legend is having a mental breakdown she forced him to have)

So since the dystopian scene in the MV for “The Future Is A Foreign Land” most likely has both references to LOTR and 1984, I have propaganda to spread.

Nihil was a fucking nerd in the 60’s.

Like he probably went to every book signing he could to get signed copies from his favorite authors.

He probably went to comic conventions (the first comic con was in 1964, he probably begged Sister and Psaltarian to go to New York with him)

He probably listened to old radio dramas loud as fuck while he was still alive because his hearing wasn’t what it used to be.

Hell, even as a ghost he probably still does it.

Going back to the signed books thing, he definitely cherishes those more than his sons. If the ministry is on fire and he had to choose between his signed copy of the hobbit and all four of his sons? The hobbit wins.

Fool: Where did Rooks journey begin? What were they doing before joining the Veilguard?

Savrin has been a full Crow for like.... 12 years at this point? So helping look after some of the fledgling Crows in House De RIva (and by helping I mean teaching them how to get away with shit without Viago catching on, typical big brother role lmao). But aside from spending evenings on Treviso's rooftops (with or without cheap wine and a cute person to make out with), the usual Crow contracts re: keeping people in check around the city, and pushing back against the Antaam, Savrin was actually looking for his mom. She was a fellow Crow and was assigned to a very hush-hush mission in Val Royeaux when Savrin was 10. Its been 2 years since they'd last heard from her and while Savrin knows her letters have always been far and few between, he also knows somethings not right. The Talons wouldn't let him go look for her, but they're doing what they can to find her. Savrin's been in a mood for the last couple months after fighting with Viago about not being allowed to go look for her alone, so the in-game lore of "Rook attacks a group of Antaam and gets sent away" kinda connects.

World: What does happily-ever-after look like for Rook? Is it attainable, or just wishful thinking?

I've been thinking about this a lot lately, especially since he's like one of my few OC's who gets a happy ending.

Savrin never really expected much for himself, he knows being a Crow can be dangerous (and has almost had his story end many a times already) and kind of envisioned himself either living long enough to become a trainer of bebe Crows or get killed while out on a mission. He doesn't want to be a Talon or run his own House, he's quite content with his lil family of De Rivas! Savrins very much a "We'll see what the next year holds and go from there" kinda person, and lowkey expects to be killed on a contract (he's made his peace with his mortality a long time ago). So I guess his happily-ever-after would be having the ability to travel Thedas and experience new things, find out what happened to his mom, maybe find a special someone(s) that he enjoys being around. Just being able to continue experiencing new and beautiful things out in this world for as long as he can.

In reality, he got so much more than he ever could have hoped for💕 seeing all these new amazing places through the Eluvians, meeting incredible people who challenged him and pushed him to be better for himself and their own sake, working with people he'll cherish for the rest of his life!

Hell, meeting Emmrich, growing closer to the necromancer, and having the realization of "I want to wake up with this incredible man in my arms for as long as this life will let me... is this what they mean by love?" was so unexpected for him! Seeing Emmrich be so gentle and thoughtful with Manfred and all the other spirits he comes across, watching him throw himself into this fight against the gods despite his fear of dying, knowing that he's always there to back Savrin and the crew up even in the most harrowing of situations. Emmrich showed him a sort of gentleness he didn't think he deserved. Where Emmrich settles the souls of the dead, Savrin sends them to their deaths, sometime agonizingly so. This little Crow is forever changed knowing that someone with such a gentle heart chooses to stay by his side, and continues to shower him in a kind of love he never thought he'd experience. Savrin still doesn't know what his future will hold (right now, hopefully a goddamn break holy shit saving the world is hard), but he's forever grateful it will have Emmrich in it, and he'll treasure that for as long as he can.
