Part 11 of shipping different train companies.
GWR has been around for a long time and has had a long history of different partners. One of their earliest was the Metropolitan Railway who unfortunately is no longer with us but also with LMS (one of Avanti's ancestors), Chiltern and presently with Transport for Wales.
If it wasn't for the work GWR did in their early years, Transport for Wales likely wouldn't be around to this day, at least she would not be around to the same extent in the current day.
GWR also used to think it was the best, doing things their own way however has become more humble and is now happy to work with others.

Class 769 no 769006 stands at Cardiff Central with a Transport for Wales service, captured last Friday & edited yesterday without time to post. I took different approaches with these shots, turning one into something more artistic, while the other I kept more true to the original scene. Which do you prefer? The class 769 is essentially a hybrid version of the class 319 dual-voltage EMU originally built for Thameslink north-south services through central London. Following replacement with class 700s on Thameslink, the 319s were displaced around the network, with some working around the northwest and others on suburban services out of Euston. The 769s were created by fitting class 319 trainsets with a diesel engine, allowing them to take advantage of externally supplied current (be that 3rd rail or overhead wires) when available, as well as continuing their journeys beyond electrified portions of the network under diesel power. Personally, i'm a big fan of this development, not only because it allows for greater efficiency & more single seat journeys, but also because it has quite literally given these trains a new lease of life. Unfortunately, however, it seems that these shots may well be the only chance I might have to capture such a scene, as the trains have begun to be taken away for long-term storage after going off-lease with TfW - clearly they haven't been all that satisfactory after all, which seems to be something of a trend, as GWR have also fairly recently announced that they have axed their plans to use these trains on services between Oxford & Gatwick. Northern's 319s have a little longer to go, but again they're already slated to be replaced by the class 323s cascaded from West Mids. While it does seem like some of these units might get another lease of life as postal & parcels trains, but given their recent track record & that of the 360s in similar role, I'm not expecting much. https://www.instagram.com/p/Cp501IMI_uY/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

train ride by a tidal river
In this image, I aimed to evoke a sense of solitude and reflection. The moody tones of the sky and the winding river create a serene yet dramatic atmosphere. By capturing this scene in black and white, I wanted to emphasize the contrasts and textures of nature, highlighting the beauty found in simplicity.
