and let's be clear: we know this case is because of transphobia. people will make all sorts of excuses for this behavior, like "oh this always happens to VAs," which doesn't make it okay regardless, or "well the performance was terrible," which wouldn't make it okay regardless, or whatever else. (also what the fuck were you listening to?)

well, we're not idiots and it's not fucking rocket science. the hatred against Sena is rooted in transphobia. it is so glaringly obvious that only a genuine idiot would fail to realize it.

As someone who experiences both gender dysphoria and species dysphoria and has had both accepted by every therapist and psychiatrist I've seen in the past 10+ years: The only people who legitimately take gender dysphoria less seriously because species dysphoria also happens to exists are transphobic people looking for excuses to remain transphobic. And transphobes can take a long walk off a short pier for all I care about their opinions. I refuse to deny my own lived experiences just to pander to bigots.

telling me how to live my life, and how to identify just because YOU aren't happy with it will change absolutely nothing. i have had several people anonymously bombard my inbox with transphobic comments and trans hate in general. it's exhausting, but i will not stop fighting for trans rights. i will not stoop myself to the hatred that transphobes stir the trans kids who are just living their life, into. transphobia WILL NOT BE TOLERATED. this is far beyond a warning. this is a fact.

Tolkien's description of the Valar's (applying to Ainur as a whole presumably) genders being a sort of "temper" correctly implies that 1) gender identity is a matter of the soul which can be completely independent from physical characteristics/not match anyone's given physical form and that 2) it is fluid thing existing on a spectrum.

(I am aware that he likely didn't have trans/gnc people in mind nor explicitly wanted to create an affirmative narrative, but I as a queer person choose to read as affirming of all sorts of queer identities, as part of me interacting with the material. At the end of the day I don't know and will never know what he thought in his heart of hearts and it really doesn't matter either - in our case death of the author is quite literal😉)

I like to hc that Ainur, as spirit beings who primarily communicate via ósanwë (aka a spiritual way of communication), are very aware of people's true identities and will always see them and refer to them as such. Other ósanwë users among incarnates may do the same depending on their level of spiritual awareness and proficiency. It's simply natural to them and they would find it even weirder than it already is to define deeply personal aspects of someone's identity purely by physical characteristics.

Kathleen Stock, known TERF, just published a 'thinkpiece' that was somehow devoid of all critical thought, in which she explained her stance on abortion, and how if someone is pregnant, the people close to them - meaning their partner, parents, siblings, and existing children - are all invested in the outcome of the pregnancy, and therefore should get equal say to the person who is actually pregnant in matters of abortion.

Any time an idiot terf tries to act like they’re an expert in biology with “iT’S XX FoR fEMaLe and XY fOr MaLE” just say “well, what about people with Turner Syndrome/Klinefelter Syndrome/Androgen Insensitivity Syndrome?” Then when they don’t know what any of those things are, laugh in their face.
