ok, something random that i want to get off my chest, and I feel safest saying it here. but. when trans people post before and after photos for being on t/e. people need to stop saying "both are beautiful/attractive" or whatever. it's not a compliment. it is NOT a compliment. stfu.

one of my old roommates saw one of my pre transition photos and went "but you were such a pretty girl!" and i almost bodied him. that's not a fucking compliment. no i wasn't. i looked like shit because i was miserable. i was not attractive back then. don't say shit like that. i don't want to see people tell me i was "already" attractive. i do not want to be forced to view myself when my dysphoria was crushing me to death as "beautiful". fucking stop it

my dad has always told me to believe in god, using what seemed like nebulous evidence. example: there isnt a concrete reason as how or why the big bang happened at the moment, so how can i trust it. instead, i should ignore the field of astrophysics and believe that god created everything. (if i had more of a passion for STEM, id go into astrophysics to spite him.)

at the same time, when i tell him im trans, provide testimony from my sisters + friends + therapists + doctors at the gender clinic, provide online resources, offer support groups for parents of queer kids, and provide peer reviewed research and support for trans people existing and having existed and the benefits of transitioning both socially and medically, thats just opinion.

goes to show that no matter how much you try to get someone to think from a different perspective, they’re the ones that have to pull their head out of the sand.

When I was about nine, my boobs started to grow. They grew fast, fast enough to jump to a C cup in barely a year and the next years to an F.

Needless to say, it left marks on my skin. Red, angry stretch marks, as if it was as foreign to my skin as it was to my mind. But as the stripes started dimming to the same pale colour as the rest of me, the feelings of discomfort never lost its hue.

Now when the tissue is gone -and with it the feelings- the stretch marks are still streaking my chest. A reminder, along with my scars, of what was, of what will never be.

You shouldn’t have to be trans to get any sex characteristic-related surgery. It’s not a limited resource. Plenty of cis men get implants and cis women get breast reductions. From Colby Gordon today and Leslie Feinberg in Transgender Warriors (1996).

for whoever needs to hear this:

starting HRT doesn't have to be a huge momentous all-or-nothing decision. you can just try it like you would an antidepressant you've been informed of the risks of.

there won't be any immediate irreversible changes overnight. you can always stop, change your dose, change your delivery system, decide it's not the right time. you can even microdose if you want to.

you don't have to tell anyone. you don't have to announce it if you don't want to.

stop waiting for a perfect time in your life because it won't come.

stop waiting to reach a mythical level of certainty that never comes to anyone, for anything.

you've been thinking about it long enough. if you have the opportunity, just give it a shot. you're worth the courage it takes to make a change in your life.

the craziest thing about being transmasc or a trans man is that people LOVE to say you’re gonna look ugly, gonna turn ugly etc. and personally for a while i bought into this nonsense. but one day i decided fuck it, decided to transition and you know what happened? i still retained the most handsome parts of the person i was before. but i looked happier. i looked more beautiful, more handsome, prettier, stylish, hot. because i finally looked like me & so much happier and confident. anyway, this is just to say - go transition dude, if you’re hesitating. you will only look even more handsome & beautiful, fuck their propaganda.
