Agent Rachel and Rouge can vouch for that if my word isn't enough. And we will never get him anywhere without your consent first. Maddie [nods nervously]: Nice, nice… Rouge: What're you gonna miss when you're out on a mission? I always miss my wardrobe. Shadow [dryly]: Nothing. Rouge: Um. Really? I didn't mean only things. What about your parents and brothers? Shadow: They're not actually my parents nor my brothers. Besides, I don't think they're gonna miss me either. In fact, I think Mr Tom is happy I'm getting out of his hair-- Tom: Oh, I mean, I never actually-- Shadow: And Tails is still scared of me, so I guess he'll be very happy with the arrangement too. Tails: The night lamp was there before you even lived with us-- Shadow [starts to speak quickly]: And Sonic never really liked me, which is totally fair, because I almost wiped out his family and the planet he made his home. All in all, I'd say it's normal that everyone’s happy to hand me over to you. Maddie: Honey, you need to breathe-- Shadow: And surely, if one day I didn’t come back, they’d probably sigh in relief because they wouldn’t have to put up with me anymore. I’ve seen the security measures on my way here, I understand them. I’m… fine with them… [breathing quickens]: I'm not. I'm not fine with this. Maddie [kneels and hugs him tentatively]: Okay, okay, that's more than okay, sweetheart. Shadow: I don’t want to do this. I can't do this. I'm sorry. Abe: Are you kidding me? Tom: Hey. Abe: Sorry, sorry. [forces out a smile]: I can see you're upset, but are you kidding me? Tom: I think we should talk for a moment here. Abe: Yes, sure, talk with him-- Maddie: No, my husband meant you, sir. Abe: …Crap. [In an empty break room, Shadow is sitting at a table. Sonic hands him an herbal tea.] Sonic: Here you go. Shadow: Thank you. Sonic: I'll be in the hallway with the rest. Shadow: Okay. Sonic [turns to leave but stops. He inhales and turns to face him again]: I get it, you know? Shadow: …What do you get? Sonic: Why you don't want to do this. Shadow: I doubt that you do. Sonic: You're scared everything's gonna be the same and you're not realising until it's too late. And that you're gonna be some weapon instead of another agent like everybody else. Shadow: How do you know that? Sonic: 'Cause that's why I'm scared right now too. Shadow: If you're so scared then why do you keep working with them? Sonic: Because I'd rather be here and know as much as they let me than be outside and know nothing. Because I don't want what happened to you to ever happened again. To you or anyone else. Shadow: So you're telling me I should just do this to have more direct intel? Sonic: No, I'm telling you that whatever you decide, you're gonna have us. You'll be working with us and or living with us, that's not gonna change. And if they try something, you're going to have a whole army to defend you. Mum and Dad are tearing Towers a new one over there, Rouge has already taken you under her wing, pun intended, and Knux, Tails and I won't let anyone but us say anything mean to you. My point is, you've got a lot of people you can trust right now, okay? Shadow: …That's comforting to know. Sonic: That's why I said it, dumbass. [Maddie, Tom and Towers walk in the room] Abe: Shadow, I'm sorry if you felt pressured. You don't need to work or have anything to do with us. Shadow: I actually want to work with you. Not for you, but with you is okay. Abe: … [looks angrily at Tom and Maddie]: See? Are you seeing how he always have to antagonize me? Tom: Congratulations, you got yourself a teenager. Sonic: Four actually, [looks reassuringly at Shadow]: we're a package deal.

Just noticed Gerard has blue eyes in the movie

In canon Eggman has blue eyes, but Carrey-s eyes are brown. Interesting the staff decided for a different colour for Gerard eyes. Maybe to make him closer to Maria.

In the movie, Maria apparently has heterochromia. Like a certain Abraham...

Was Commander Walters secretly the Movie Abraham Towers all along?

Alright, I got my refresher for this.

So, Captain Walters personally put Shadow in stasis 50 years ago. I was definitely overwhelmed that day. But I noticed something. Walters knew Maria. He was there with them at the base. Familiar with her even.

Walters is completely different in the 3rd movie. He's way more understanding and even, dare I say, compassionate. It's odd.

He's glad that Sonic, Tails, and Knuckles are safe. He even trusts them with something so important. (And we still don't know why he didn't trust anyone else)

In Shadow's flashback, Walters appears kind to Maria. He knows Gerald and his granddaughter. On top of all that, he calls Shadow a kid. He saw both Maria AND Shadow as innocent children.

Why didn't he do the same for Sonic? A hedgehog who already saved them before we find out GUN is on a mission to capture him. He even tells Maddie that they were "harboring and abetting" a fugitive/criminal.

What if at one time, Captain Walters approached Shadow like an enemy. Or maybe even like a friend. Shadow's personal hatred for him could be because Walters made his hatred known. Or possibly because he betrayed Shadow after such a devastating loss.

So, why is Walters initially such a jerk about Sonic? He was there when Project Shadow got shut down. He knows that the loss of life was on the military that day. You could say he just got more cynical with age. But that doesn't cut it for me.

Maybe his mistrust of aliens has something to do with Shadow's story. Wink wink hint hint

I think there's more to Commander Walters. Something that we might learn about now that he's dead. Something that perhaps in a future installment can be fleshed out alongside Gerald and Shadow's origins.

He may not be the Abraham Towers that we know, but things definitely seem to be lining up in that direction. Only his redemption played out for Sonic instead of Shadow.

Mistrust with the alien, knew Maria and Shadow, military connections. Idk, it just seemed right, and it would add more to Walters if he's really that integrated in the Shadow Robotnik story.

I make alot of jokes about abraham towers but I actually really do appreciate him as a character....but he's one I don't see talked about much and it's such a shame

like, he's probably the one other character still alive who is almost as personally connected to maria's death as shadow is

how he now fills the role of the person who ordered the attack on the ark, and how heavily that legacy must weigh on him

how he still has to grapple with his own fear of shadow, despite what maria saw in him, despite how towers has seen him save the world

how he's had to look the demon from his childhood in the face, and realize his own pain was reflected in it's eyes

he is a man built on pride, but who has to put it aside for the greater good. a man who wants all this power to try and protect the earth, but who has to constantly realize it's not enough

he is a man who, above all else, is trying to not make the same mistake twice

What's sad though is that he feels so awkward and embarrassed in this dress, even though his other dresses were as revealing. He thinks he doesn't look pretty rn, which is coming from the fact that everyone's eyes are on him and he thinks they're in a "judging" way.

Okay but someone educate me if I’m wrong about this but I never understood why people detest the pregnancy trope in a book where mating bonds are a thing. Cause what I know about the purpose of mating bonds solely based off animalistic nature is that finding a mate is for breeding purposes. So when I read a book about mating bonds I expect the pregnancy trope or a least a breeding kink to occur in said novels, am I the only one?
