The Ramaswami - Cooke family welcome a new addition! Sala and Sanjay now have a son together named Deep.
Tumblr media
Sala is the only one who can teach the toddlers and her plantsim status really helps keep her motives up so she can teach quickly. Latta learns to walk and talk with just a nap in between.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Two kids age up this week. Deep is now a toddler and Nundat is a child.
Tumblr media
The heat is hard on all the kids this rotation but they all manage to prevent heat stroke and by the end of the week everyone is feeling a lot better already.

rewatching Fringe for the first time since it ended, and I love Olivia so much this time around. She’s not just another Strong Female Character. It seems like that type of character is commonly tough, sometimes cold, and kind of masculine. But very early on it was established that Olivia does bring emotion into her work, but that’s what makes her a good agent. She is strong emotionally, can carry herself in a fight, is smart, but she does tend to keep most people at arms’ length until she know.
Strong Female character types are usually rather feminine, imo - not that there's anything wrong with being either masculine or feminine. They're tough, true, but more like unrealistically unflappable, cool, calm and collected, witty, attractive, sexy. Olivia is actually not very feminine - she ties her hair back and wears suits all the time, doesn't paint her nails or wear makeup, isn't especially nurturing, doesn't cook or have other conventionally feminine interests. She's not "one of the guys" either. She's also not particularly witty, charming or cool. She's socially awkward and emotionally stunted, warm-hearted yet a bit cold and unapproachable (defensive), vulnerable yet hides it well. She's a badass for sure, but not the usually kind. I think she's relatable and flawed.
I really love Olivia. She definitely has a big heart and wears it on her sleeve, yet she's still so careful and logical, and proves smart people are in tune with their feelings and instincts - which is exactly what the Observers are against. She's warm but not "motherly", vulnerable but never the damsel in distress, calm and collected but not unflappable. She's refreshing and a very well-written female character imo. Anna Torv did an amazing job expressing all her layers and contradictions.

Phil Coulson: acquaintance
Jessica Jones: acquaintance
Tumblr media
Personality:
Determined and analytical, Allison is a force to be reckoned with. Though she's a woman of few words among her peers, she's quick to share her opinion and sets the facts straight. When Allison talks, people listen. She's a natural leader with a magnetic personality.
However, Allison has few friends outside of work, often spending long hours and overnights on cases. In social situations, something outside of her expertise, she's slightly more awkward and reserved, projecting a cooler, professional persona to shield herself from rejection.
It's not until she warms up to someone that her true personality shines through, someone who cares deeply for others, with immense empathy and selflessness. She's an old-school nerd with a protective streak, someone often underestimated.
Tumblr media
Biography:
Allison Bennett was born in Siloam Springs, Arkansas, to George and Michelle Bennett. She grew up with her younger sister, Beth. She also had a younger brother, Charlie, but he died at the age of 5 in a car accident, along with her father, when Allison was fourteen and Beth was ten.
Allison’s home life was fairly ordinary, her parents, especially her mother, pushing them all to do exceptionally well in school and uphold a Stepford-like image to the rest of the town.
When Allison was thirteen, she developed strange abilities that allowed her to manipulate the Earth’s gravitational pull on objects around her. When her parents found out, her mother called The Panoptes Foundation for help. The Foundation took Allison into custody and Allison spent a month at Monadnock, a camp for teenagers with abilities.
At Monadnock, Allison was brainwashed into forgetting about her abilities, while witnessing the Foundation’s attempts to quell the abilities of other campers. These methods included involuntary surgeries on visible mutations and drugs that dampened the abilities of others.
By the time Allison graduated the program, she had no memory of having abilities, or of the time spent at the camp. Her parents were forced to sign NDA forms that prevented them from telling Allison, which her father objected to.
When her father came close to telling Allison, the Foundation killed George Bennett, along with Charlie Bennett, who happened to be in the car at the time.
Allison attended the University of New Haven, majoring in criminal justice. She joined the NYPD and worked her way to become a detective, eventually becoming a consultant for SHIELD and a liaison between her team and SHIELD. She broke off contact with her mother and had a strained relationship with her sister, who was constantly in and out of trouble.
In December of 2015, Allison investigated the homicide of Marty Fields and the unusual circumstances surrounding it. She became acquainted with Willow Wren and gave the girl her contact information. Willow later used this contact information to alert Allison to her location when she was captured by the Foundation and HYDRA, and Allison passed this information onto SHIELD.
In the summer of 2016, Allison learned that Willow was being transferred to SHIELD custody at the Cocoon, following the Avengers Civil War.
Following a party in the fall of 2016, Willow found herself calling Allison to pick her up, feeling awkward at the party and wanting a ride home. The two bonded further and Willow began to see Allison as family, someone she could trust and who had her best interests at heart.
Allison eventually confided in Willow about her own past, the pair of them beginning to suspect that Allison was an early victim of the Panoptes Foundation in the 90s. As they began to put the pieces together, Allison joined Willow in her fight to take down the Panoptes Foundation.
Allison later adopted Willow, the girl finding a home with Allison and her cat. Allison also became a part of Willow's other adopted family, the McFlys in Vermont.

I tried watching Fringe when it originally aired and couldn’t get past the first few episodes. Should I go back and try again? I’m inevitably disappointed when shows are compared to The X-Files because the parts of txf that shows pull from usually aren’t the parts of txf that speak to me. I do love parallel universe shit though!
yeah, the first season of Fringe can be kind of X-Files lite. it doesn't really start cooking with gas until late season 1 — not to knock the character work in the first season, but I think the characters in Fringe are at their most human when the plot is at its most bonkers, because the story gets so personal. after season 1 it gets a lot more serialized and stranger and more affecting. the parallel universe mythology is fully its own thing, so as soon as it gets into that territory it mostly stops feeling like an X-Files wannabe (they actually moved filming from New York to Vancouver after season 1, so there are winks at The X-Files, but it's more homage than imitation).
I don't usually go looking for shows that are trying to be like The X-Files either. nothing that's trying to be The X-Files has what The X-Files has. but I was raised by JJ Abrams, so if you give me a show that's half Alias half X-Files, I'm gonna watch. for me it was worth it; I love Fringe. ultimately the things Fringe does well and the things The X-Files does well are almost totally opposite: Fringe is great at serialized mythology and usually just fine at monster-of-the-week episodes (as a rule; obviously there are some great ones). and the characters aren't anything like Mulder and Scully—they're Alias characters; at one point Olivia repeats a Sydney Bristow line word for word. it's not like I ever stopped comparing them, but comparing Fringe and The X-Files only made me appreciate both shows more. they have different strengths. and for what it's worth, Fringe is the most invested I've been in a fictional relationship with relatively good communication skills. credit to Joshua Jackson and Anna Torv.
if you're into parallel universe storylines you might want to give it another try; I can try to give you a list of the most important season 1 eps if you want, but no promises that I haven't forgotten what becomes important later. but it's not like it's a must for X-Files fans. it's just a fun dessert.

This or That! Battle for the Best!
Tumblr media
So, we’re bringing it back, and we’re giving it a try.  Our willingness to keep this going will depend upon entries, so let us see if you’re into it!
Our -This or That- Challenge... What Does This Mean?: Well, this or that is a contest where you have two prompts, and you choose who to represent in your art.
Entering: You can even enter for both options, and as many times as you like. The winning person gets a prize, the winning theme is the one with the most entries. Yay for prizes! Please submit entries. Tagging us doesn’t always work. If you do tag us, just submit or let us know, too.
OMG Bear is Driving! How can that be?: We loved doing these, but so few entered, we stopped. But we got a lot of requests, and there were too many good ones to ignore.  This contest gives us a chance to include them.  Show us what you’ve got! Deadline: It seems only fitting that this should last until the last day of September. Without further ado, Our -This or That- Challenge: Our current battle is a combination of several suggestions, since we could fit them all thematically. This is a battle between AUGUST and SEPTEMBER!  A battle to remember.  (Normally, we only pick one theme, but since this might be the last one, we thought we’d go all out.)
Leos  or  AugustVirgos, -or-  September Virgos or Libras? *
Ganesh Chaturthi   -or-   Pitru Paksha **
National Bowling Day (Bowling theme ft. anyone) -or- National Chess Day (Chess theme ft. Nathaniel Buzolic)
Chant at the Moon day -or- Talk like a Pirate day! ***
* People asked for their characters to be represented with their characters astrological signs. These may or may not actually reflect the actor’s sign.
Leos offered on the ask are: Rachel Miner, G-Dragon, Sasha Roiz, Shelley Hennig, Bonnie Wright/Ginny Weasley, Brendon Urie, Jared Padalecki, Anthony Rapp, Jesse Eisenberg.
August Virgos: Natalie Portman, Anna Torv, Matthew Gray Gubler, Dita Von Teese, Christina Ricci/Wednesday Addams, Jodelle Ferland, Jason Ralph, Deborah Ann Woll, Matt Dallas.
September Virgos: James McAvoy, Kat Dennings, Rachael Leigh Cook, Phoebe Tonkin, Emma Watson/Hermione Granger-Weasley, Hayley Atwell, Andrew Garfield, Aldis Hodge.
Libras:  Julia Goldani Telles, Aidan Turner, Kiera Knightley (redhead), DB Woodside, Tom Hiddleston, Maggie Smith/McGonagall, Dakotah Fanning, Matthew Daddario, Steven R. McQueen.
** Either holiday featuring any of these people in any way:  Aishwarya Rai Bachchan (even as twins), Shah Rukh Khan, Ayesha Dharker, Priyanka Chopra, Arjun Gupta, Melinda Shankar, Summer Bishil, Irrfan Khan. *** Any of the above, or anyone from HP or the Magicians worshiping the moon.  -or- Any of the above done up as a pirate, in a pirate costume, or on a ship. Crossover concepts welcome.

☮ - ♒ - ☼ - ✿ - ☠
☮ - friendship headcanon
I’nah : He’s sunshine, he’s cute, he’s extraverted, everyone is his friend, or can be. One day, he will probably be betrayed, or let down, but for now, he still see the good in everyone.
Cat : one the opposite side, there’s Cathan who trust noone beside himself. Friendship is a strange forgotten thing. He knows a lot of people, a few of them who owns him debt or help if needed. But real friendship, people he can really relax around ? He hasn’t known that for a long time now.
♒ - cooking/food headcanon
Cathan : He can and will cook - has been for years for himself - and he’s very good at using everything he can find outside. He doesn’t really love the act in itself, but well, a man can survive on raw meat for only so long !
Yersinia : For that, and that alone, she’s quite the princess, her upbgringing showing. She won’t cook for herself. Never. She’ll buy food on market or tavern, pay a cook, but she won’t touch a pan. And if she ever tried to fry a poor little mole to eat it with a firaga well adjusted but a bit too strong, she’ll never tell.
☼ - appearance headcanon
Yersinia : she loves colorful and beautiful fabrics, but she doesn’t like wearing dress. Not practical. A wedding dress isn’t mean to be practical. She doesn’t even remember where she found it.
I’nah : one of his dad has an awful sense of mode, the other is bit more outrageous , and right now, baby I’nah is beginning to fill the need to stand out a bit more. He cut his hair ( with a dagger, by himself, there’s spike everywhere, don’t tell anyone ), he wears more colorful things... teenage rebellion incoming !
✿ - Sex headcanon
Yersinia : She likes sex. Unapologetically. For love or for fun, with one or more partners. Soft or Kinky, and why not try a little bit of magic or pain, with a Domme with fluffy ears ?
Cathan : Why not ? He likes it but it’s not an end in fine. He never thought about it, but he’s likely demisexual. In love, he’s a very suave and sweet lover, mindful of his big stature. Very playful too.
☠ - angry/violent headcanon
Cathan : His anger is cold, but burn strong and long. He can be terrifying with his big stature and torve smile. But real angry Cathan ? He will be deadly and won’t take any prisonner.
I’nah : for all the sweet boy he his, I’nah is well and true a warrior and will go berserk in battle, in fear for loved one and bloodlust.  The day he’ll go on rampage won’t be a pretty side for anyone, especially for him.

She saw running forms still in their vac suits making for the sensor room as she grabbed an emergency extinguisher next to the lift and sprinted after them.
Feeling the heat before she rounded a stack of computer banks belonging to the sensors, Shirlee prayed that Jubhi and Torve weren’t there. That they made it out because the intensity of the heatwave that hit her was like stepping into the very heart of the 8th Hell. Inferno. A place that would burn away your sins and impurities for eternity. Condemned to a place where your skin would burn and blood would boil, being cooked by the fires of virtuousness.
Shirlee prayed harder.

I was tagged by @sideadde. Thanks!
Pick 5 shows, then answer the following questions.
1. Firefly
2. the Middleman
3. Human target
4. Fringe
5. Lie to me
1. Who is your favourite character in 2?
Wendy Watson and her other half Lacey Thornfield. The best team. Seriously, they shouldn't be separated.
2. Who is your least favourite character in 1?
Niska. He's just a pain in the ass with no good qualities.
3. What is your favourite episode of 4?
I honestly can't say. Something with plenty of Bolivia and Astrid, ideally.
4. What is your favourite season of 5?
First season. It was all fresh and unpredictable, and Lightman was behaving like a weasel high on paint stripper. Also Foster was hot enough to cook on. And STILL IS, I might add!
5. Who is your favourite couple in 3?
Winston and Guerrero. One so very cool and tired, one so very murderous. And no, I don't ship them, they just make a good pair. (Human Target only has one actual _romantic pair_ and I don't really approve of it.)
6. Who is your favourite couple in 2?
Again, not a romantic couple but Thornfield/Watson will always be the most amusing room-mate pair ever.
7. What is your favourite episode of 1?
"Out of gas", which gives us backstory and some depth to the main characters and the environment. Second place: "War stories" for River's display of childish joy at the start that turns into a moment of blood-curdling freakout closer to the end.
8. What is your favourite episode of 5?
The one where Foster and Torres end up stealing and drinking Lightmans whisky at the end, discussing his glaring and obvious faults as a human being.
9. What is your favourite season of 2?
The first season, since there sadly was only one.
10. How long have you watched 1?
Since a year or two after it aired. When I found out about it, it was already dead.
11. How did you become interested in 3?
Someone recommended the original comic, but before I got my hands on that I found the TV show and realized that it was hilarious. I still haven't read the comic.
12. Who is your favourite actor in 4?
John Noble is fscking GREAT at being both fatherly, pathetic, solid evil and confusing in the multiple roles he plays. Also Anna Torv who plays two different versions of the same character with enough separation that she actually confused people on the set.
13. Which do you prefer, 1, 2, or 5?
Middleman. It was the best series I had seen at the time. It's still one of the top five. You guys have no idea what force of writing it takes to keep me from shipping two ladies looking like Watson and Thornfield together. And they are so amazing to watch that the ship angle never shows up. I literally would pay their rent just to be their neighbor and see what happens.
14. Which show have you seen more episodes of, 1 or 3 ?
Human target, since it ran for so many more episodes.
15. If you could be anyone from 4, who would you be?
Broyles, local version. He's skilled, focused and smart, and unlike everyone else in the show people don't try to turn him inside out on a regular basis.
16. Would a crossover between 3 and 4 work?
God, yes. I would pay actual money to watch that. Or read it, for that matter. Someone please weld Human target and Fringe together.
17. Pair two characters in 1 who would make an unlikely but strangely okay couple?
Serra and Frye. One super-geisha with tons of class, one mechanic who likes to have sex on the greasy floor.
18. Overall, which show has the better storyline, 3 or 5?
Both Human target and Lie to me are very episodic, but I feel Human target has more arc as the second season picks up speed.
19. Which has the better theme music, 2 or 4?
Music: Fringe.   Droolworthy visuals: Middleman.

Affordable Luxury: The Best Meals in Copenhagen for 150 Kroner or Less
Finding where to get an affordable meal in Copenhagen is no picnic (pardon the pun). The 2004 New Nordic cooking movement, pioneered by Claus Meyer, turned the city into an epicenter of culinary excellence. Fifteen separate establishments now hold Michelin stars, making it a foodie destination like few others worldwide.
But this culinary revolution was accompanied by a range of new eye-watering menu prices, limiting accessibility as a consequence. For those who’d rather make rent than splurge thousands on sea snail broth, there are establishments in the city where you can wine and dine for 150 kroner or less. These are some of the city’s modern food innovators – pairing modest prices with genial dining experiences.
Looking for cheap eats? Here is where to get a delicious but inexpensive meal and a glass of wine in Copenhagen for 150 DKK or less:
Paloma Vermut Café
Found halfway along Guldbergsgade in Nørrebro, Paloma Vermut café is a local gem specializing in vermouth. A tipple of its namesake drink starts at 40 DKK, while beer, wine, and cocktails are also available by the glass for a low fee.
The café’s dinner menu comprises Scandinavian and Mediterranean inspired dishes, mixing small fish plates (mackerel, tuna, sardines, and anchovies) with hearty soups, charcuterie, and cheese options.
Though only opening in June, its “Bloody Mary Meatballs” have become a signature dish. Served with a basket of homemade sourdough bread, the protein-rich bowl is the perfect comfort food for Copenhagen’s brisk winter nights.
“Our philosophy is to keep presentation simple, flavors big, and the quality of the raw materials high,” explains Paloma’s owner Carl Wrangel. “We look to create an atmosphere where it’s as pleasant to drop by and drink a few vermouths as it is to bring a date to share two or three dishes and a bottle of wine.”
Carl Continues, “our house vermouth is a great and affordable option for people who want to dip their toes, and then perhaps move on to more complex styles of vermouth based on natural wines. These rich flavors naturally complement the fatty fish, spicy meatballs, and acidic olives on our menu.”
We recommend: a Bowl of Olives, Bloody Mary Meatball, and a glass of Vermut (139 DKK); or Tomato and Carrot Soup, Sardines in Herbs, and a glass of Hancock pilsner (148 DKK).

    Motley
Motley opened on fashionable Ryesgade, Nørrebro, in the summer of 2018. The restaurant’s menu is all about slow-cooked daily dishes, paired with reasonably-priced wines, beers, and spirits.
Courses recently featured on its evening menu include: Indian Dahl with Raita, Beef and Lamb Leg Stew with Potatoes and Beetroot, and Beer Braised Pork Cheeks with Root Vegetable Mash – all only 95 DKK.
Their repertoire has evolved to encompass a selection of sizeable snacks, such as Salted Celery and Cheese Sauce, Crispy Pork Loin with Kimchee Mayo, and Salt Cod Brandade Croquettes, which can also suffice as filling dinner options when combined.
“The course-of-the-day dinner menu was the main idea behind Motley,” explains chef-owner Katrine Sommer. “We cook everything from the bottom up, and we go out and find our own produce, spices, and herbs, working through the seasons.”
“Our dishes are made from ingredients that have simmered on the stove for several hours,” she continues. “We have time to let it cook for the whole afternoon, so they get this ‘umami’ flavor and the spices seep into the meats – people often don’t have time for this type of cooking at home.”
We recommend: The Dish of the Day, and a glass of house wine (145 DKK); or Salted Celery with Cheese Sauce, Crispy Pork Loin with Kimchee Mayo, a Spinach and Onion Puff Pastry Tart, and a bottle Thy Pilsner (140 DKK).

    H15
H15 Cafeteria, Bar & Scene was dreamed up by a collective of six co-owners, who situated their restaurant-cum-performance space in a warehouse of Copenhagen’s Meatpacking district.
Its food concept rests on combining environmental values and quality produce, whilst minimizing prices wherever possible. This culinary focus results in an unstuffy, relaxed ambiance.
H15’s evening menu incorporates a range of seasonally-based vegetarian, meat, and fish dishes, most of which are priced below 100 DKK. But, with plates including “Bone Marrow, Gremolata and Grilled Bread” and “Tatar with Pear, Anchovy Mayo, and Endive,” these modest prices are matched by sophisticated gastronomy.
“We strive to create a place that you can afford to come to a couple of times a week without closing your bank account; a place that is attitude-free and straightforward,” explains co-owner Bagge Algreen-Ussing.
Bagge continues: “We work with produce that is in season and therefore available in large quantities, just like you would do when shopping at your local market.”
“We are a cafeteria, meaning that you order at the bar and pick up your fork, knife, napkin yourself,” he adds. “This way we can lower both the cost of staff and the prices of our food and drinks.”
We recommend: Duck Liver with Baked Beetroot and Pickled Cherries, and a glass of house red wine (145 DKK); or Grilled Pointed Cabbage with Buttermilk Sauce and Herbs, Bread and Olive Oil, and a small beer (145 DKK).

    Vinhanen
Founded in 2013, Vinhanen has become a prominent feature of both Nørrebro and Vesterbro’s food and drink scenes. The menu takes most of its inspiration from rustic French cuisine.
Its organic wine, the central constituent of Vinhanen’s business, is sourced and imported from independent vignerons located across France, along with Italy and Germany. At any one time, eight different wines are showcased in impressive metallic vats, from where it’s served to customers on tap.
These drinks are accompanied by three warm dishes: Moroccan vegetarian tagine, creamy alpine tartiflette, and a Provençal beef stew called a “Daube” – each priced between 90 and 100 DKK. Vinhanen also offers cured meats and desert options, together with a 120 DKK set food and drinks menu on Mondays and Tuesdays.
“Our motto is ‘wine for the people’, so we like to keep it simple but good,” explains co-owner Jacob Noel. “It’s comfort food; it’s hearty dishes, and we designed the menu very thoroughly so that it’s easy to share.”
“We serve our warm dishes in small bowls,” he continues “and you can choose two or three dishes to split. We always have the charcuterie and cheese selections as well, so in that sense, we’re very French inspired!”
We recommend: Tagine and a glass of Organic Sangiovese (145 DKK); or Tartiflette and a glass of Organic Chardonnay (145 DKK).

    Plenum
Plenum has been located on Nørrebro’s bustling Sankt Hans Torv square since 2012. This longevity results from ignoring fleeting culinary trends for a menu befitting its wide clientele.
It is open throughout the day, starting as a morning brunch and coffee spot, and later developing into a light afternoon lunch joint. By the evening, Plenum’s menu carries a generous mix of soups, salads, sharing tapas plates, and gourmet burger dishes.
To drink, Plenum offers customers beer by the bottle at 25 DKK and house wine from 50 DKK per glass. But they also provide a diverse range of alternative beverages, including an impressive selection of 70 to 75 DKK cocktails.
“When we began, something that we had on our minds was: how can we make our menu inexpensive and still embrace quality,” explains co-owner Ulrik Amann Eriksen. “We wanted to fit within the local area, which we know is full of students, but we also wanted to encourage the thirty-plus customers to come, who aren’t as worried about prices.”
“A lot of places are based on one theme or are getting more and more niche,” Ulrik continues. “We are the opposite of that; we want to be a place in which everybody can come and where everybody should feel welcome.”
We recommend: the JFK Burger and house red wine (140 DKK); or Parsnip, Leek, Toasted Chorizo, Truffle Oil, Smoked Salmon and Almond Soup, and a Mint Julep cocktail (150 DKK).

Content Warning: Sexual Assault
So today I have listened to an episode of Benjamin Law and Beverley Wang’s podcast called Stop Everything. The episode from the 13th of August included an interview with The Newsreader writers Michael Lucas and Kim Ho. They in particular focused on the scene from Episode Two, where Lindsay is in Helen’s house and things are getting very creepy and boozy - with Lindsay focusing more and more on Helen’s appearance and guilt tripping her into complying with him - causing Helen to try to distance herself from him and entertaining his jokes just to get him to go away.
I obviously knew this scene was not leading to good things, but I did have a sense of naivety to it that I didn’t think they could have possibly taken it in such a sinister direction. What I learnt from the podcast was this; if Dale had not interjected, Helen could have possibly had her “Me Too” moment. There was intensive collaboration between the cast and directors as to the direction the scene would go in. When Michael Lucas was initially researching and speaking to women who had been both Helen’s age and in her position in the media back in that time, he noted that the stories of misogyny and assault were eye popping. He decided he wanted to maintain a level of ambiguity to the scene in relation to where the direction it might have gone. A comment made by Anna Torv had really stuck with him - she had said “in some ways, one of the most difficult and humiliating things is when you have to laugh at their jokes.” He embraced this and created a dramatisation of this comment. Anna also shared with the concerns that if Sam Reid/Dale had not come into the scene at the moment he did, that Helen unfortunately would have had to go to bed with William McInnes/Lindsay.
It was ultimately decided that - especially that early on in the story - had Helen been r*ped or assaulted, it was going to be too difficult to bring it back to the rest of the stories and goings in the workplace. It was way too heavy for that early point in the story. However, the scene serves the purpose of making viewers acutely and frighteningly aware of the threats Helen faces daily - Helen is far more vulnerable and at risk than we perhaps take into account. Even with her having the most power out of all the women in that workplace, that does not make her immune to the looming risk of assault.
Dale ultimately saved Helen from experiencing something horrific and traumatic, and the look on her face as she sees him come through her door is utterly heartbreaking. It also is a huge juxtaposition - how genuinely respectful, caring and kind he is to her, and the fact that he actually went to bed with her without those sexual connotations; he just slept beside her to keep her safe. Thank god for Dale. And thank god for the makeup lady Cheryl too, for realising that Helen was perhaps unsafe and needed someone to check in on her. Two extraordinary characters who were there for Helen when she needed it most.
Episode Two - Halley’s Comet (and heavy topics covered which makes me love this show even more)

Being a plantsim is mostly helping Sala in taking care of her family and since she doesn't need to eat anymore gathering food has become much easier for the family. But sometimes she passes out at night due to lack of sunlight. She'll be fine in the morning to continue round 2 for the Cooke family....
Tumblr media
Julien manages to find some time to relax since Sala is basically tireless.

Next up is Julien Cooke and his wife Sala.
Sala has the charismatic, green thumb, ambitious, thief (klepto) and rebellious traits. She will be tending the garden and trees because of her green thumb.
Julien has lucky, gatherer, dramatic, mooch and coward. He will be fishing for now and in the future he may gather ingredients from a nearby community lot when I build it. Since he is a coward he will not be hunting or go too far from home.
They spend their first days gardening and fishing, and socializing with the welcome wagon. Sala pickpockets every visitor who comes to the lot. After a few days Julien and Sala finally kiss and fall and love and she is soon pregnant.
While tending the garden Sala is turned into a plantsim! I already had cyjon's mod installed that makes turning into a plantsim harder but apparantly that won't be enough to stop this neighbourhood from being overrun with them. I switched it out in favor of one that allows plantsims to be made by the pollen cloud in stead of spraying for bugs. Sala will stay a plantsim but I changed her back to her old hair and clothes.
By the end of the week Sala gives birth to twin boys! They name them Kherv and Torv

Before I start round 5 in my Test of Time challenge neighbourhood I took some family pictures!
Tumblr media
The new Ramaswami - Cooke family. Sanjay and Sala Ramaswami and their combined sets of kids. Kherv and Torv Cooke, Abhishek Ramaswami, Nundat Cooke, toddlers Latta Cooke and Deep Ramaswami. Deep is the first child of this new couple together.
Tumblr media
Taba and Crall Maina and their gang of kids. Abimbola, Bonolo, Farai, Bontu, Fadzai, Ime and toddler Ayodele.
Tumblr media
The biggest family in the neighbourhood at this point: The Parviflorums. Mom Ardisia is holding Alternanthera and dad Conopholis has Silphinum in his arms. Bumelia is standing on the rock and Helictotrichor is holding his little sister Dandranthema. On the ground are toddlers Poncirus and Tiarella and child Linum. And Disporum is on the right looking up at the sky thinking is this photoshoot done yet?
Tumblr media
The Picaso family consists of Matthew and Jessica Picaso, newborn Mondi, children Gaba and Bran and toddler Dob.
Tumblr media
The other newly combined family! Julien Cooke married widow Tema Strongarm (now Cooke). Kids Vac and Vatzoc were born before their dad Cled Strongarm died and their little sister Egla was born to Tema and Julien.
Dog Chebnar has run away and is not in this picture but his siblings and parents are: Snobek, Mazzi, Koh, Rascal and Uuzo.
Tumblr media
And last but not least are the Travellers who moved in for Round 4. Since Priya Ramaswami and Cled Strongarm died and their households combined with the former Cooke household a lot became empty and I thought Trisha and Trent Traveller and their child aged daughter Tina would fit in well. In round 4 baby boy Tarek was born, but they are still the smallest family in this neighbourhood.
(I retook their picture because Tarek is clipping into his mom's arm but Trisha would not make that happy face at him again so I still preferred this version despite the clipping.)
