The beginning of Winter Wednesdays! Did you ask for it? No? Are you getting it? Yes!
BAKING/COOKING
On New Year’s Day, I made this pork tenderloin with a honey garlic sauce that was actually pretty good for a last minute recipe.
CRAVING
Snow. I need it. It’s been so windy and rainy in New York this week that I’m counting down the days that I’ll hopefully see a snowstorm in Ontario this weekend.
EATING
Went to the restaurant Torrisi (by the Carbone people) and it was overrated. I think 2024 is the year that I stop going to trendy places. There’s rarely any substance. We tried the zeppole ham appetizer (which was really good), the lunch sandwich (the bread was phenomenal, but the meat was too fatty), two pastas that were only okay and a great tiramisu dessert. Is that worth the $100 per person it was? Heavens no.

EXPERIENCING
I saw the new fashion exhibit Women Dressing Women at The Met, so I’ll do a full post on it this weekend.
LOVING
The thinnest, greatest pizza I’ve had in years at Emmett’s on Grove (we ordered the Hot Girl and added pineapple to it). And is it just me or are cutesy menu names embarrassing? Always make me cringe.
SHOPPING
Trying to find these love stamps at the post offices near me and they are annoyingly sold old everywhere.
WATCHING
I saw the movie Air last night and it was good. It easily could’ve been cut thirty minutes, sure. And not to be harsh, but it did just feel like a two hour Wikipedia page entry.
WEARING
My new Top Shop coat. I waited until the Nordstrom sale when it was $85 and now she’s all mine.

When I get my first glimpse of the iconic New York skyline standing on the balcony of our ship, the Crystal…

We Italians are lucky. Shadow's Italian voice is way better than the English one (I'm talking about Kirk)...
Yesterday I finally saw SxS Gen preview in Italian.
Claudio Moneta dubs Shadow with a slightly different style in SxS Gen, compared to Sonic Prime. While in Prime he felt he had to be loud to better show all Shadow's emotion, he uses a calmer and softer voice there.
As I said when I talked about the Italian voices of Sonic Prime, Claudio's approach toward Shadow is, I would say deeper, as if he connects to the character to make him sound more natural and spontaneous rather than trying to imitate a certain type of voice. His approach is similar to the one of David Humphrey and the voice sounds natural. It was pleasant to hear.
Here's our Shadow.
I guess he will dub also in the movie and the short animated serie 'Dark beginnings'. I know his voice since I was a child and I watched a lot of cartoons where he is in, he is very versatile. He dubs goofy characters like Spongebob (He seems very comfortable with those), light hearted characters like Goku or gloomy characters like Shadow, and many others.
With Goku he had some difficulty. Goku was dubbed by Paolo Torrisi, a man who mainained a youthful, high picthed voice in his adult age, it sounded very similar to the one of the Japanese actress, while Claudio's voice is rather deep (not raspy). Paolo died suddenly and Goku's voice had to be replaced.
With Goku he went all cheerful but the voice was still too deep, to manly. But in the 'Broly' Movie he sounded like a 20 years old, very pleasant and appropriate for the character.
After having said this, I'll gladly watch Dark Beginnings in Italian. I would watch it in English too if Shadow's VA was David, Jason or maybe Ian instead of Kirk. But I want to preserve my ears from Kirk's awful voice.
Italian🇮🇹actress/model Laura Torrisi (turning 45 this year!). And yes, her breasts🥝🥝are real!😍Did you know Italian women and men that live in Italy’s hot climates are likely to grow big breasts/penises when they pass puberty?😲
