INTRODUCTION
Tumblr media
Hiya, my name's Dee or you can call me Dead! instead, cuz that's what my name is in Tumblr. I'm sixteen. I'm an Indian, racists better fck off. I like to draw, sing and write songs and poems. I mainly post my art here and I have two side blogs too, which are @mcrinmyheart (idk what I post there :D) and @shesacomplicatedpoet where... Er, you know it. And when I say "art" I usually draw My Chem, Fall Out Boy, Linkin Park, Bring Me The Horizon and a few other bands, but you can always leave a picture in the "Ask me?" box if you really want me to draw something that you like :). Just make sure it isn't something s!utty, cuz my parents like seeing my sketchbook sometimes, haha.
Tumblr media
About me...
Name: Dead! / Dee
Age: 16
Pronouns: she/they
Sexuality: Bisexual
Likes: listening to music, art, singing, music bands, food, sleeping (I'm a very eepy person), travelling, reading, etc.
What kind of art do I do? Fanarts mainly.
Dislikes: peanuts (yea I don't like 'em, so if you know me irl and try to feed me peanuts, I'm gonna fcking stab you, you little shit), pedos, homophobic fcks, MSI apologists, basic DNIs, etc.
Am I single? Yes, and that's because I don't want to date anyone. Nvm, I'm taken :]
Music bands/artists I like:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
+ twenty one pilots, p!atd, Bring Me The Horizon, Glass Animals, Bad Omens, Sleep Token, etc. I also liked The 1975, The Nbhd, Joji, Driver The Era, Arctic Monkeys and Chase Atlantic before, so I really don't mind if you wanna talk about them too. I'm basically a music addict who has listened to a whole lotta music genres throughout my life. But I'm currently into rock music rn. Yeah, I can't stop talking about music if I start.
Tumblr media
My favourites:
Books: Agatha Christie's books, Heartstopper, Five Feet Apart, The Fault in our Stars, Crime/Horror/Mystery books (there are many but I can't remember them), etc.
Movies: anything horror, mystery, crime, sci-fi, Marvel, DC, Star Wars, from the 2000s and 90s, etc. (How do people actually choose a favourite movie??)

Scroll down for more facts about me...
Or don't. I really don't care.
Fun facts about me ^^:
I'm a really joyful, chaotic, kind, funny and a sweet person! :D (according to my frens)
Until and unless you get me on my nerves. Trust me, That's when I go insane.
If you know me irl, hi... Uh, I know I don't talk much in person but I'm sorry. That's just who I am. But if you want to be my friend, you can start by texting me lol.
I'm a music addict who likes to annoy people by talking about music bands 24/7.
I have an unhealthy obsession over My Chem.
I'm a huge nerd (according to every person in my class) and I like Math and Science (but I don't really talk about it unless you are someone who is into math and science as much as me).
I'm also a sarcastic and sassy person. So if my words ever offend you, I'm so sorry bbg. Deal with it.
I'm a vampire (I have fangs and I will bite you to suck that blood your body holds, RAHHH).
Other than drawing and singing, my hobbies are fangirling, sleeping, reading books, travelling and sometimes even cooking.
I might be surrounded by many people who I call my "friends," but in the end it's just four people who are actually my friends.
I'm mostly an introvert, but I'm an extrovert when I'm with my friend.
Yikes, this list is still going on!
I lived in Germany for two months along with my parents, but we moved back to India because I couldn't handle the bullying and all. But it was fun there, ngl. Having a new name was the worst part though (it was Diana, which I still use sometimes, and my aunts pronouncing it... was er... shit).
I suck at socializing btw.
But I like to annoy people at the same time.
Wait, does Tumblr have a word limit on a post?
SHALL I TRY REACHING THE WORD LIMIT???
Ah, yeah, I forgot to mention this but I'm a really curious person. I like trying out or experimenting on stuff. It's fun, okay?
I can be smart and an idiot at the same time B)
I write poems but I don't like showing them to others cuz I feel like they're stupid. Any tips on poetry from the poets of Tumblr?
I love cats. Cats or get tf out.
Am I annoying rn?
Idk.
This was fun.
Alright, that's enough fckery for today. Farewell my little kittens <333
So long and good night!

top 10 things i cooked in 2023
this year i made 104 unique recipes (plus lots of duplicates when i liked something enough to make it multiple times). the places i went to most for recipes were feasting at home + the NYT recipes app, although i very much liked the weekday vegetarians, love and lemons, cookie & kate, nora cooks, and the foodie takes flight.
my top 10, in no particular order:
NYT ricotta pasta with roasted broccoli and crispy chickpeas (super simple but a great yummy pasta to make real quick for friends. I roasted the broccoli instead of broiling and added lots of extra lemon zest, garlic, red pepper flakes, and a tray of oven-roasted chickpeas)
moroccan vegetable tagine (i blended a bunch of recipes but the one linked was my starting point. this is the one form i like butternut squash in lol. modifications: i went heavy on all the spices but especially the cinnamon and cardamom, added chopped dried apricots to the stew for extra sweetness, and threw in a bunch of extra veggies. yum)
indian-ish nachos with cheddar, black beans and chutney (do NOT skip the multiple chutneys and sauces. it will seem like too much work you will say can't i just make one and be done with it but those sauces are where the magic lies. the great tragedy of these nachos is that i wanted to eat them for DAYS but they do not reheat well. but godddd they were good)
ottolenghi's green pancakes with lime butter (these are SO easy. great for brunch but also make delicious additions to your lunch for a couple days after. also it's a perfect way to eat a pound of spinach and feel very virtuous about it when really you just ate delicious jalapeno-y scallion pancakes. the lime butter is great but it's a lot of work so i usually just top these with some sour cream mixed with a lil bit of lime zest & lime juice)
cauliflower shawarma with spicy tahini sauce (YUM! the tahini sauce as written was too bitter for me with the cholula mixed in. i think i'd try it with sriracha next time so it was a little sweeter. i also added chickpeas yum)
roasted cauliflower daal with chickpeas (my notes say this was "OUTTA THIS WORLD DELICIOUS" but also note that it will "really clean you out GI-wise" lol. lentils always have that effect on me though so ymmv. i added bell pepper, roasted the cauliflower first, cooked the lentils most of the way soft in the rice cooker instead of on the stove, and added two chopped serrano peppers with seeds to give it a lil extra kick. i would recommend halving the recipe if you are cooking for one as there were TONS of leftovers and my GI system could not handle being cleansed that many times lol)
pasta with corn, tomatoes, "onion-bacon," and basil (this method of preparing onions really should not taste like bacon and yet it sort of does????? this was a summer recipe i made multiple times for a range of audiences and it was a hit every time. originally from the weekday vegetarians)
creamy corn pasta (THIS HAS NO RIGHT BEING AS GOOD AS IT IS. IT'S SO SIMPLE AND YET IT'S THE BEST THING I'VE EVER TASTED I COULD EAT IT FOR DAYS. WE ATE IT ALL SUMMER)
ottolenghi's very full roasted veggie tart (it will take you hours to make and no time at all to consume but oh my god it's so good and SUCH a satisfying way to spend a long weekend afternoon. liz and i loved this so much we had to have a serious sitdown to discuss how we would divvy up the leftovers because we felt it could seriously damage our friendship if one of us ate all of it)
bombay burritos (the little sauces and things take a long time to make but you can prep a lot of the stuff a day or two in advance and gosh these are so tasty!! the curried mashed potatoes YUM)
honorable mentions:
ottolenghi's mango soba noodles (skip the eggplant i'd do tofu or something instead)
braised tofu with basil (i made this with a veggie-loaded stir fry and topped it with a fried egg)
this carrot cake (it took forever to make but it was the best carrot cake i've ever had and the only thing i'll ever make on my bday from here on out). she also has a pumpkin cake recipe that is so good and much simpler to make (no grating required)
momofuku's ginger scallion tofu with crispy coconut rice (the recipe is for a shrimp version but we made it with tofu and it was very yummy. i made this at a friend's house and it was so good i wanted to ask to take home some of the leftovers but decided that was too rude ahaha)
and then of course i gotta give a shoutout to my #1 comfort foods this year, SHAKSHUKA (my beloved) + a caprese sandwich with balsamic glaze served on really good bread.

George Harrison, backstage in Philadelphia, PA, on August 16, 1966; photo by Bob Bonis.
“[George showed us] his music room, which has one wall covered with the famous Harrison guitars, his collection of Indian instruments and a small jukebox standing just by the door. I looked at the titles on the jukebox and there were very few Beatle songs amongst them. The Beach Boys, Mamas and Papas, Lovin’ Spoonful, the Stones were all well represented.” - The Beatles Monthly, January 1967
“George Harrison’s Fab Forty… George — like all the Beatles, incidentally — has his own juke box at his Esher home. It’s in his ‘den.’ Along with tape recorder, radio and record player. […] But back to the juke box. It’s a KB. Maybe you saw it in the film ‘Help’? Says George: ‘It’s so much easier to have all my favorite records on the juke box at once. It saves me going through piles of records to find the ones I want. Then when I get sick of them, I just throw them out and put some new ones in.” - Tony Hall, Record Mirror, January 1, 1966
George’s Top Ten… 1 “Harlem Shuffle” — Bob and Earl 2 “Good Things Come To Those Who Wait” — Chuck Jackson 3 “Be My Lady”/“Red Beans and Rice” — Booker T and the MGs 4 “Please Crawl Out Your Window” — Bob Dylan 5 “Baby, You’re My Everything” — Little Jerry Williams 6 “Back Street” — Edwin Starr 7 “Work, Work, Work” — Lee Dorsey 8 “The Little Girl I Once Knew” — The Beach Boys 9 “My Girl Has Gone” — The Miracles 10 “I Don’t Know What You’ve Got /But It’s Got Me)” — Little Richard (“[P]arts one and two — the second is George’s favorite.”)
The rest… 11 “I Can’t Turn You Loose” — Otis Redding 12 “My Girl” — Otis Redding 13 “I Believe I’ll Love On” — Jackie Wilson 14 “Plum Nellie” — Booker T and the MGs 15 “Everything Is Gonna Be Alright” — Willie Mitchell 16 “A Sweet Woman Like You” — Joe Tex 17 “Something About You” — The Four Tops 18 “I Got You” — James Brown 19 “Ain’t That Peculiar” — Marvin Gaye 20 “Turn, Turn, Turn” — The Byrds 21 “See Saw” — Don Covay 22 “I’m Comin’ Through” — Sounds Incorporated 23 “Don’t Fight It” — Wilson Pickett 24 “Bootleg” — Booker T and the MGs 25 “I Ain’t Gonna Eat Out My Heart Anymore” — The Young Rascals 26 “Respect” — Otis Redding 27 “Try Me”/“Papa’s Got A Brand New Bag” — James Brown (“instrumentals”) 28 “I’ve Been Loving You Too Long” — Otis Redding 29 “All Or Nothing” — Patty Labelle and her Belles 30 “Pretty Little Baby” — Marvin Gaye 31 “Oowee Baby, I Love You” — Fred Hughes 32 “The Tracks of My Tears” — The Miracles 33 “Yum Yum” — Joe Tex 34 “Agent 00 Soul” — Edwin Starr 35 “Money” — Barrett Strong 36 “Some Other Guy” — Ritchie Barrett (“George’s ‘Revived 45’ list — he’s dug these since they first came out.”) 37 “It Wasn’t Me” — Chuck Berry 38 “Mohair Sam” — Charlie Rich 39 “Let Him Run Wild” — The Beach Boys 40 “Do You Believe In Magic” — The Lovin’ Spoonful
“George really knows his records. It’s always a pleasure to talk to him about them.” - Tony Hall, Record Mirror, January 1, 1966 (x)

DAY 5432
abdh, JHo                  Dec 29,  2022              Thu 10:00 PM
the travel is over the quietude and the scarcity is ambivalent .. the peace and the charm prevails and the winds of cold bringing temperatures down brings in the feel of the North , long left ..
those fog filled early mornings and the run to the crossing and back trying to improve the resistance and breathe to the system .. the borrowed scooty the Lambretta with the broken accelerator wire in the mouth to keep the thing moving .. all the way to Univ and back just for a few days ..
aahhhh .. those were the days my friend .. and as soon as you remember them you wonder when and how did all those wonderful days disappear and fell distant .. cannot revive them simply bring in the remembrance and take the deep sigh of remembrance back to the times ..
there is sweet company for the break of a few days to bring in 2023 .. the family in their company on different locations but connected each hour on FT .. distance time and location has lost its mystery .. the ease of its reference and adaptability is what remains constant and prime .. all else is an asking and a deliver ..
routines have changed .. and so have the timings, but the body adjusts .. the eatings have developed a different tongue .. but no matter where , the Indian reigns supreme .. presence, talent, brain, cuisine , dress, all now suddenly proving that when every 6th individual in the World is an Indian, t will become impossible to ignore us .. and to top that the largest youth population in the world of humans ..
someone announced at a PC .. by 2027 India will be a 40 trillion economy .. and there is India in all walks of life today ..
i must rest and realise that , my trillion is dependent n the sleep trillion 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

Stray kids fic recs
Tumblr media
A skz fic list for those who’re too lazy to actually search for them (you’re just like me!!)
If any of the authors on this list do not want me to put their work on this list, I will immediately remove it, please tell me if you don’t want it here!
Personal favorites - ❤️
Tumblr media
Kim seungmin
Scaredy cat
Very short and sweet, my favorite line has to be “speed run this bitch”. I absolutely love haunted houses fics and both the MC and seungmin being scared just made this twice as funny!
The minstrel, Kim Seungmin
(Royal AU) fluff, slight angst (wandering bard! Seungmin x princess! Reader)
This was just soooo cute! Seungmin and the MC’s relationship was just so precious and it really encapsulates how you could fall in love in such a short time. Totally read this, 12/10!
Entangled
(Spider man AU) (spider man! Seungmin x dj! Reader) fluff, angst, more fluff
OHHHHHHHHH MY GOOOOOOOD!!!!!! YOUVE DONE IT AGAIN! HOW ON EARTH ARE YOU SO GOOD WITH WORDS? YOUVE GOT LIKE THE BEST AU’s AND STORIES IM CRYING??? I LITERALLY LOVE YOUR WORK SO MUCHHHHH
Tumblr media
Seo changbin
Sun and moon
(soft! Girl x rough! Boy) fluff, angst(?)
This was a very sweet fic, changbin was always there for the reader when she needed it and it was just such a calming read. It was very cute how they went from a fake relationship to something genuine and it warmed my heart!
Outside my window
(Shapeshifter! Changbin x reader) angst, fluff
Had a great bittersweet ending and I loved the overall theme!
The prince, Seo Changbin
(Prince! Changbin x princess! Reader) Angst, Fluff
I should also probably mention that I absolutely love enemies to lovers, something about how opposites attract is just so pleasing to see so this fic was just a gift from heaven! Changbin’s promise to the reader at the end was just so sweet and warming, totally read it if you’re a enemies to lovers fan!
Sprouts and their Joy ❤️
(Brother figure! Changbin/ reader) fluff, angst
Changbin was so sweet in this fic, he was such a good older brother figure to the reader and was always there for them, when he finally said “I love you” I think I almost cried. This was such a touching read and I totally suggest reading it!
Don’t call me cupcake
Chapter one: Changbin
(Resident evil AU) (Agent! Changbin x agent! Reader) fluff, teeny bit of angst
Tumblr media
Bang Chan
The unbounded knight, Bang Chan
(Unbounded knight! Chan x queen! Reader) angst, fluff fluff, a lil suggestive at the end
This might actually be my favorite of this short series, aside from Minho’s one. Chan just seemed like such a happy lil dude and the reader was just so sweet when she warmed up to him, their relationship was very very cute!
Cinderfella
(Cinderella AU) (noble!Chan x princess! Reader)
Ohhhh I loved the swapped roles in this, Chan was so mature for his situation and always upheld his manners, to top it off he has so much kindness in him too!
Can you lend me a crayon?
(Single father! bangchan x babysitter adult! Reader) fluff, smut, lil bit of angst so far
Gee wowza, I usually don’t read fics like this but whooey mama. 13/10 absolutely loved the first part and am looking forward to the rest! The wording and structure of the story is sooo addicting and the plot is to die for! Keep up the great work!!!
Butterfly wings ❤️
(Indian dancer! Reader x idol! Bangchan) fluff
I had to re-add this fic here because it’s absolutely everything I have ever wanted in a fic! As a kathak dancer myself, this fic was to die for and I felt like my culture was really being appreciated here! Bangchan really gave off the vibes of a fanboy and I found it sooo cute! 20/10 absolutely would read again and again!
Tumblr media
Yang jeongin
Heroine addict
(Superhero! Reader x journalist student! Jeongin)
So so cute, Jeongin was such a determined student and all those things he did just to see the reader was so sweet, the last scene really touched my heart. I felt like Jeongin was such a careful boy when it came to interviewing the reader, he never asked her personal things! 20/10
Brown sugar
(Witch! Barista! Jeongin x reader) fluff fluff
Just started reading from this author and I’m absolutely in love this universe already, you’ve gotta check out their witch! Skz universe fics!
17.59

Blue and silver
(Silver fox! jeongin x human! Reader) flufffffff, lil bit of angst
24 to 25 ❤️
(Childhood friends! Jeongin x reader) fluff angst
Oh. My. God. The actual amount of investment I put into this fic was insane. I couldn’t stop reading it, both parts were immensely riveting and so much fun to read! The development across their ages was so well planned that it just had me wanting more and more. These two were the cutest ever 20/10!
Loving the monster
(Fae king! Jeongin x human! Reader) fluff, angst, there is some torture/ cruel pranks in this fic
Another monster fic that was so much fun to read! The betrayals the reader goes through and the trust she eventually puts into jeongin was so heartwarming to read, this fic was so enticing! 12/10
Speaking in tongues ❤️
(general! Jeongin x arabian dancer! Reader) fluff, angst, violence
This was an actual master piece??? It felt like an actual movie reading this story, I can’t wait to read the final part omg! The story building and the writing was to die for! I fell in love with all of the characters in this story as they had so much character to them! There was so much depth in this fic, I fell in love with the way this author writes. 20/10!
Tumblr media
Han ji-sung
Anything but normal
(Spiderman! Han x friend! Reader) fluff, teensy suggestive at some points
This was so cute ahwbwnwakaoshwbwk, their relationship was very funny and the way their personalities were written was just perfect 12/10 totally recommend
Do you trust me?
(Nerve AU) ongoing, fluff, a lil suggestive (?), very little angst
Honestly I was so happy when I found this AU, I’m a sucker for AU’s and a nerve AU on top of it? Sign me up. It was cute to see how their relationship blooms from strangers to friends as they complete dares together!
The blacksmith, Han Jisung
(Blacksmith! Han x crown princess! Reader) fluff, lil bit of angst
Very very cute, this was like a one sided enemies to lovers thing but Han didn’t hate the reader??? Well- it doesn’t matter, the story was very cute and the ending was so satisfying. My fav line has to be the one where the reader talks about how she might as well become the first queen to rule alone!
Hear.t fm
(DJ! Han x best friend! Reader) fluff, very little angst
This was so refreshing to read, Han switching to DJ J.ONE and back was funny to read when the reader would tease him about having a crush on J.ONE, 13/10!
Young God ❤️
(Serial killer! Han x reader) fluff, angst angst, completed
Oh when I tell you this was good good, it was like a full 30/10 for me, Han’s character was written so beautifully and carefully it just squeezes my heart! He was always so sweet and careful around the reader, I really felt bad for him when his past came to light. Such a good read, I totally recommend this!
Utterly lovesick
(Bsf! Han x bsf! Reader) fluff, angst
Summary: out of the 6 times Han attempted to get a kiss from you, he only succeeded 1 time.
For my great friend, you ❤️
(Idol! Han x assassin! Reader) fluff fluff, angst to a whole new level
Oh my god this is a master piece, there is so much I want to say about this fic. When the reader started playing “M.I.A” in the fic, guess what happened to me? I was listening to the “this is stray kids” playlist on Spotify and it suddenly played M.I.A! This fic had me going through so many feelings! The ending was super bittersweet but with an extra dollop of sweet. This is a must read!
Love in cheese
Otherworldly
(Alien! Jisung x human! Reader) smut!, fluff fluff
10/10 read, but it is smut so if ur uncomfy with it pls don’t read!
Tumblr media
Lee minho
The chancellor, Lee Minho
(Assassin! Minho x Queen! Reader) angst, fluff
Oh my god, this fic was too good, there aren’t many words I can use to describe this fic but it’s good, this is a must read! I loved how the author captured Minho’s love for the reader in such a beautiful way and it was so touching!
Metamorphosis
(Black cat! Minho x reader) angst, fluff
Cute and sweet, short but a good read!
A fairy tail that lasts
(Playboy! Minho x writer! Reader) fluff, angst
Oh my god this was just a bucket of sugar! Minho’s character was written with such love and I adored how he immediately dropped his past ways when he met the reader! This was such an amazing read, 30/10!
Green flames ❤️
(Slytherin! Minho x Gryffindor! Reader) fluff
Ok this was so cute and the TENSION between the two was so riveting! I loved this so much and would love to see a continuation! I re-added this fic here on the skz separate master list because I felt like it needed a whole other page of recognition! Def one of my fav reads thus far, 12/10!
Home
(Spider-Man! Minho x reader)
Soo cute, you could really feel the trust in their relationship!
Countless skies upon us
(swordsmaster! Minho x reader)
Absolutely loved how their relationship developed across the fic!
Tumblr media
Hwang Hyunjin
In which Hyunjin must choose between you or dragonfruit
This was just a whole bunch of crack and humor, the short series was surprisingly funny to read (check out the Han one too!)
The thief, Hwang Hyunjin
(Thief! Hyunjin x princess! Reader) very little angst, fluff fluff fluff
Ohhh this might be my favorite in this AU and I just have to give it to the author, you really have a way with words, I always find a smile on my face when I reach the endings of your fics!
Sparks
(Assassin! Hyunjin x assassin! Reader) fluff (?), some suggestive stuff but never escalates
I’d love to see a part two! I liked the idea of the reader being a flirty jokester and hyunjin being a somewhat emotionless dude! 11/10
Guard dog
(Werewolf! Hyunjin x reader) fluff fluff
Summary: Hyunjin takes up a date from one of his friends and ends up in an adoption center for dogs. Everything seemed to bother him until he met you, the person in a wheelchair willing to adopt a huge “dog” like him.
Backseat driving
(Street racer! Hyunjin x reader) fluff, angst (not too much, a little suggestive but nothing too bad
I remember reading this fic a while back and it was just so good! 12/10 totally recommend
The duke and I
(Bridgerton AU) (duke! Hyunjin x author! Reader)
fluff, angst (?), smut (you can skip it tho, i did it and it still made sense without the scenes)
Oh my god this was super good, I love how Hyunjin was always supportive of the reader’s writing and how he encouraged her and was honest with critiques. 14/10 you have to read it!

Jeanette MacDonald - The Iron Butterfly
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Jeanette Anna MacDonald (born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on June 18, 1903) was an American actress best remembered for her musical films in the 1930s. MacDonald was one of the most influential sopranos of the 20th century, introducing opera to film-going audiences and inspiring a generation of singers. She became known as "The Iron Butterfly", for she was one of the most lady-like and beautiful women in Hollywood, but when it came to contracts, she was tough and kept unwanted advances in check, rarely making a misstep in her career.
She was the third daughter of Scottish-American parents and the younger sister to character actress Blossom Rock ( who was most famous as "Grandmama" on the 1960s TV series The Addams Family), whom she followed to New York for a chorus job on Broadway in 1919.
After working her way up from the chorus to starring roles on Broadway, she was casted as the leading lady in Paramount Studios' The Love Parade (1929), a landmark of early sound films. Despite making many successful films with Paramount, she next signed with the Fox.
MacDonald then took a break from Hollywood in 1931 to embark on a European concert tour, performing at the Empire Theater in Paris and at London's Dominion Theatre. She was even invited to dinner parties with British Prime Minister Ramsay MacDonald and French newspaper critics. She returned to Paramount the following year and made more films.
In 1933, MacDonald left again for Europe, and while there signed with MGM, which brought her together with Nelson Eddy. The pair made eight pictures together, including Maytime (1937), arguably the best musical of all time. From then on, they were forever known as America's Singing Sweethearts.
In 1943, she left MGM and began pursuing other interests. She made her opera debut singing Juliette in Gounod's Roméo et Juliette in Montreal at His Majesty's Theatre. After the war, MacDonald made two more films, but quit the movies altogether in 1949. The 1950s found MacDonald in the Las Vegas nightclub circuit, on television, in sold-out concert tours, in studio recordings, and on musical stage productions.
In her final years, MacDonald developed a serious heart condition. She died in Houston, Texas while awaiting heart surgery; she was 61 years old.
Legacy:
Won the Screen Actors Guild award for Maytime (1937)
Crowned as the Queen of the Movies in 1939 by 22 million filmgoers in a New York Daily News survey as presented by Ed Sullivan

Has 1 RIAA gold record for Favorites in Hi-Fi (1959)
Was one of the highest-paid actresses in MGM in the 1930s
Listed by the Motion Picture Herald as one of America’s top-10 box office draws in 1936
Co-founded the Army Emergency Relief and raised funds on concert tours in 1941 to support American troops
Awarded an honorary doctor of music degree from Ithaca College in 1956

What are your oc's go-to orders when they go out together 👀👀
Ooh great question!
Honestly depends on where they go to eat but their go to places are the local pizza place or the Indian restaurant.
Lucy is a bit of a picky eater so she goes with what the most 'basic' options are, so here they would be a good old margherita pizza with garlic bread on the side, and chicken tikka masala with plain naan and onion bhaji respectively. And she would only order a lemony drink, like a lemonade or nimbu paani. She has not changed these orders in 10 years and she will never change them ever, they're perfect meals. Do not try to make her eat something new.
Adam eats anything that's got like a salty sweet thing or spicy sweet thing going on, so for pizza's he'd probably get a meaty spicy pizza and then ask them to add capers and golden raisins on top + he'd get a tiramisu dessert, and his Indian food order would be lamb kofta curry at the highest spice level with garlic paratha and then a giant glass of sweet lassi.
Harsha is like a big sweet tooth that his friends kind of hate, he orders a big dessert portion and then orders a savoury main. like he'll order 2 chocolate lava cakes first and then order a plate of lasagna. He eats the lava cake first and then eats cold lasagna, we hate him for it. and at the Indian restaurant he'd order chapati with mango shrikhand, and then get 2 sides of prawn fry and chicken 65.
Naz is vegetarian by choice cause the smell of meat makes him feel rather ill, but he'll order anything that's really eggy or dairy  cause he loves eggs and milk. at the Italian place he'd get a florentine pizza and ask for an extra egg, and then order a vanilla panna cotta. At the Indian place he'd get egg biryani with mint cucumber raita, and then wash it down with a mango lassi extra thick.
Shaz is down to eat anything tbf as long as it's halal, so most of the time she just orders the dishes of the day and then a random side and a drink. she's not really into sweet stuff. Her go to sides at the italian place are the dough balls with marinara sauce and garlic butter though, and she gets an orange soda. at the indian place she orders gobi manchuri and rose milk with less sugar.
Daniel is vegan and also born in hyderabad, moved to england when he was 9 cause his dad got transferred by his IT company. He loves to eat food that's in pockets or something and is very carby. His italian order is usually a vegan mushroom aubergine tomato calzone, dough balls with marinara sauce, and a limeade to wash it all down. His indian order is usually palak paneer with aloo paratha, and a dabeli as a side, with nimbu pani. if he's feeling fancy he'll get a dessert but that depends on his mood.
Abigail is the one with the most unpredictable tastes because she isn't picky and wants to try something new every time, she doesn't really have any preference lol but she doesn't like eating the same thing in a row. So she just randomly orders dishes, but the one thing she does have a preference for is the dessert, she hates chocolate things so she usually orders a vanilla cheesecake at the Italian place, or a gulab jamun with ice cream at the Indian place. She's really hard to order for lmao.

Pawpaw: How do you name your characters?
Sugar Maple: What's the sweetest part of your story?
:)
Hello! Thanks for the ask! (From this ask game)
Pawpaw: How do you name your characters?
Hm. Vibes? Generally speaking I use Behind the Name and its filters. Sometimes I go elsewhere or look up specific ethnic names. I sometimes go for meaning.
But sometimes, here is my process:
The Secret Portal
Lexi was dubbed "Alexia" in my fourth grade (age 10) creative writing project. I remember I went through an extremely elaborate process to naming her until I fell on that name. Unfortunately I don't remember how I did. In Draft Three (age 13) I tried out the nickname Lexi used by her sister and occasionally her friends, but in Draft Four I just called her Lexi and I preferred that for her (though her name is still Alexia).
Ash was originally named Aurora, but when starting Draft Four I had another OC in the project that later became SOTL named Aurora (she doesn't really exist anymore lol) and to avoid this I picked the first "A" name I thought of: Ashley. But I tried out Ash and realized I preferred it, so kept it consistent.
Gwen was the first G name I thought of, named because the friend she was originally based on wanted her name to start with that. Noelle came out of an inside joke. Rose was on a whim.
Maddie was Maddie because my sister chose the name. She also chose Kelsey. The names stuck, and I really like them.
Robbie I called Robert for a long time, choosing the name for an embarrassing reason (14 yo me was obsessed with Tony Stark) but the nickname fits him much better!!
Akash was chosen because I wanted less English names and selected Indian/Hindi on some baby name site. Obviously being an A name it was close to the top, but it meant "sky" and I laughed because I'd made him a flyer and I liked the name so kept it.
Carla was originally Carly and I don't remember how I picked the name or why I changed it. George was named after my grandfather. Why did I choose it for a young guy idk.
Ewan, Jazlyn, Wade, Parker, Tyler, and Sam were all chosen on a whim and I liked them so they stayed. Liam was originally named Seamus and I didn't like the name for him so I just looked up popular names in Canada and picked the one I liked. Niri was Stephen but I changed it for a similar reason: it wasn't working. Both characters have improved since I changed their name to something I was comfortable with.
Same is true for Hye-Jin and Gabriel, but the main reason I changed their names was they were Lucy and Luis - and with Liam and Lexi I hope you can understand why I didn't want so many four letters, two syllable L-names.
Jedi I picked because I found it on a baby name site. Carmen was on a whim.
Most other names were like that for TSP so I'll stop now. Basically the gist is most of them I picked on a whim, but then I changed the ones I didn't want by usually going to Behind the Name and filtering by ethnicity and looking for something I like.
School of the Legends
Much simpler to describe/harder to choose:
1) pick the name that they are in the fairy tale. Example: Jack (all Jacks)
2) pick a name that means the same as the name in the fairy tale but in another language. Example: Bai Xue (Snow White)
3) choose an ethnicity and look at all the meanings and pick one that's close to the character they represent. Example: Saira (Red Riding Hood, means "traveler")
4) pick a name with a good meaning tied to the character they represent. Example: Azraq (Little Boy Blue, means "blue")
Sugar Maple: What's the sweetest part of your story?
Any moment where it's 2+ characters (usually 2) doing something really sweet for the other (e.g., Kelsey giving Maddie an amigurumi tiger for no reason) or comforting the other (e.g., Gwen giving Akash a hug and a kiss on the forehead when he's crying).
TSP is made up of nothing but corny comedy, angst, and soft ass moments. It's honestly hard to pick a favorite, which is kind of lame lol. But these silly kids loving each other just gives me a lot of joy!
Thanks so much for the ask! Sorry this was a long read lol

Akshay Mehndiratta: 6 Must-Try Mango Recipes for Summer Delights
Tumblr media
When the summer sun shines brightly, it’s good to know that the most popular fruit at the moment is the mango! As bursting with flavor and versatility as mangoes certainly are, they make for a perfect culinary adventure. You can get not only refreshing drinks but also to indulge yourself in decadent desserts. In this blog post, Akshay Mehndiratta, the food enthusiast, unveils 6 mango recipes that are beyond resisting and will definitely allow you to enjoy your summer feasting.
6 Best Mango recipes for summer delights by Akshay Mehndiratta:
Mango Sticky Rice:
Ingredients:
1 cup glutinous rice (that is, sucked rice or sticky rice).
1 can (13.5 oz) coconut milk is as well.
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 mangoes, fully ripped, peeled and chopped.
If you use toasted sesame seeds or toasted mung beans, this dish will have a better look (optional, for garnish).
Instructions:
Rinse the rice in cold water until it is clear. Allow the rice to soak in water for at least 30 minutes, or up to 4 hours.
Once soaked, drain the rice. Place it in a steamer covered with cheesecloth or a clean kitchen towel. Steam the rice for 25–30 minutes above boiling water, until it is tender. Alternatively, if you have a rice cooker, use it according to the directions.
While the rice is cooking, start making the coconut sauce. In a saucepan, combine coconut milk, sugar, and salt. Heat this mixture over medium heat, stirring regularly, until the sugar has dissolved and everything is well warmed. Be careful not to let it come to a boil.
After the rice is cooked, take it out in a bowl. Pour most of the coconut sauce over the rice. Mix it gently until all the rice is covered evenly. Leave for 10 minutes for the rice to absorb all the flavours. When ready to serve, transfer the rice to a serving plate or bowl.
Arrange the sliced mangoes alongside or on top of the rice. Drizzle the remaining coconut sauce over the mangoes and rice.
Optionally, garnish with toasted sesame seeds or mung beans for added texture and flavor.
Serve the mango sticky rice warm or at room temperature, and enjoy!
Akshay Mehndiratta’s recipe ensures a perfect balance of flavors, making it an ideal dessert to cool down on hot summer days.
Mango Lassi:
Quench your thirst with a glass of mango lassi, an Indian yogurt-based drink made with delicious mango puree. Akshay’s proprietary formula contains a dash of cardamom, elevating this drink to new heights of flavor and elegance.
Ingredients:
1 mango, peeled and diced (or 1 cup mango pulp).
1 cup plain yogurt.
1/2 cup of milk.
Adjust sugar to taste (2–3 teaspoons).
A sprinkle of ground cardamom (if preferred)
Ice cubes (if you prefer)
Optional garnish. Chopped pistachios or almonds
Instructions:
In a blender, blend together the chopped mango (or the mango pulp), the plain yogurt, milk, sugar, and cardamom,
Mix until the smoothness and the homogeneity are achieved. If you want, you can pour more milk and the texture will be thinner.
Feel the lassi’s freshness and fix the sweetness by adding more sugar.
If you like something cold, you can also add a few ice cubes in the blender and then mix until the lassi is well cooled with ice chunks blended finely.
Now that the lassi is prepared, add them to the glasses.
Finally sprinkle with finely chopped pistachios or almonds if you desire.
Have right away and taste the best Mango Lassi.

1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract (optional).
Popsicle molds
Popsicle sticks

Process until the mixture is well mixed and smooth. Taste the mixture and adjust if too sweet.
When the mixture is smooth, pour it into the popsicle mold, leaving a small gap at the top for expansion.
Insert popsicle sticks into molds.
Place the popsicle molds in the freezer for at least 4–6 hours until completely frozen.
When the popsicles are ready and set, pour hot water over the molds for a few seconds and take them out. Remove the popsicles delicately.
Serve Mango Coconut Popsicles immediately, have a good time!

1. how many works do you have on ao3?
11
2. what’s your total ao3 word count?
70,667
3. what fandoms do you write for?
Dragon Age, Mass Effect, a few Indian movies, and the list will be growing lol
4. what are your top five fics by kudos?
rivers of bitter certainty
those who are in favour with their stars
a desperate light that since has died
a heart that laughter has made sweet
a rose by any other name
5. do you respond to comments?
Always! They make my day
6. what’s the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?
gold dust woman - Dragon Age, Branka/Hespith, very proud of this one
7. what’s the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?
a rose by any other name - which is also my fluffiest fic in general! again Dragon Age, Cullen/Adaar
8. do you get hate on fics?
not yet 😎
9. do you write smut? if so, what kind?
I suppose so, not often on its own but usually as part of the plot... character study through the bj 💀
10. do you write crossovers? what’s the craziest one you’ve written?
I haven't written any crossovers yet!
11. have you ever had a fic stolen?
No
12. have you ever had a fic translated?
No
13. have you ever co-written a fic before?
No! I really like the idea, but I'm a bit worried because I write so sporadically when I get bursts of energy that I'm not sure if I'd make a great writing partner, haha
14. what’s your all-time favorite ship?
Ahh, I just love Romance, so I don't know if I can pick a favorite, but Katniss and Peeta from The Hunger Games are who got me into fandom, and they're who I always return to when I'm truly feeling discouraged. Most ships I've written for are a favorite for some facet of them.
15. what’s a WIP you want to finish, but doubt you ever will?
I have an AC3 AU fic just. Lingering on the hard drive. I do hope to finish this one eventually, but it keeps threatening to be longer and more convoluted than I expected.
16. what are your writing strengths?
I think describing emotion/character dynamics. I get really proud when I figure out the sort of dynamic I want to focus on, and then I can shape the fic around that. I also tend to like my dialogue, especially when I make myself laugh with something kind of cheesy.
17. what are your writing weaknesses?
Definitely plot: I love focusing on characters, and as a result I do not develop plot as much as I'd like to. I think I tend to drag out scenes and sometimes I feel like I'm forcing it to lengthen the story or create some kind of action. I also really like including boring details and when I go back and edit I struggle to keep what's relevant, lol.
18. thoughts on writing dialogue in another language for a fic?
Even if characters are talking in another language, I usually write in English except for a few words that don't translate well. I was trying to think of situations where I'd write full dialogue in another language and they were all very specific: maybe if it's an important part of the setting or a character's internal conflict. So I guess in those cases I would if I either knew the language well or could ask someone about context, etc. (This actually reminds me of another WIP I don't know if I'll finish, lol.)
19. first fandom you wrote for?
I think The Hunger Games, but I never posted any of it. So many talented people in that fandom!!
20. favorite fic you’ve ever written?
Again, probably the care and feeding of lovebirds! It’s such a comfort movie + fic, and I guess that shows in how quickly I wrote it haha. But going back to that one is soothing for me, and I do have more DDLJ fic in the works.
I'll tag anyone who wants to share!!
