Carol Channing passed away this morning and I am at a loss for words. From the 1985 Alice in Wonderland film, to my discovery of “Thoroughly Modern Millie”, to the 1995 revival of HELLO, DOLLY! (which I practically wore out that CD) - and the countless videos and recordings I watched of her in the original and other productions, Miss Channing was an icon in this little gay boy’s life and one of the reasons why I loved theatre so much.
