Tony: Is it considered murder if you say sorry after?
Jessica: Not if you don't get caught.
Matt: Do you guys have to discuss this over breakfast?
Tony: Well of course, I have to make the decision before lunch.
Matt: *Knock his head on the table*

Okay okay... but Spiderman making cookies giving them to SIM...
Like maybe Peter noticed the lack of Christmas decor at the tower; because of his internship. The limited number of friends Tony Stark had. And knows that Rhodey and Pepper were both off with family.
Peter knows what it feels like to be alone on Christmas.
So he makes his way to the tower. He stays out of SIMs way most of the time(as spiderman). It's like an agreement. He stays out of the way, he gets to keep up his Spiderman gig.
Tony was not expecting Jarvis to alert him that Spiderman was on the roof. Even more so of the sugar cookies with melted Hersey kisses on top.
But it was the " Hey Mr. Stark" That made Tony realize that Spiderman was the intern he has been watching. Well, isn't that just interesting.

Irondad fic ideas #139
NWH AU where Tony's been in a coma this whole time. He still is. But the world thinks he's dead.
One day, Rhodey is in some science place (maybe SI, maybe a community college where he was giving a speech?) and he sees this kid tinkering who looks exactly like Tony Stark. The teen Tony Stark from when he first met him at MIT. Even down to the mannerisms. He goes up and has a brief conversation with this stranger, just curious. Then he leaves.
Unbeknownst to the kid, Peter, Rhodey managed to grab something for a DNA test. The kid just looked too much like his best friend. Like seeing a ghost
When they analyze the DNA, they learn that this kid is in fact Tony's biological son
Rhodey goes back to find the kid, this time bringing Happy. Peter gets to have the super fun conversation where two people who should know him but don't tell him that the person he saw as a father was his actual father, only it's too late
They convince Peter to come with them eventually. And Peter gets the shock of his entire life
Over the next little while, at Tony's bedside, Peter gets to know Morgan (who he would've seen as a sister anyway but this is insane). He also gets reacquainted with Rhodey, Happy, and Pepper, who all admittedly find him a bit sus with how much he seems to know.
But...this is Tony's kid. His son. So they let him be there, let him talk to Tony and hold his hand.
Finally, finally, Tony wakes up.
And it turns out, being in a coma and thought dead by the entire world, including wizards, makes one exempt from certain magic
Bonus:
As he sits by Tony's bedside, Peter has to grapple with a lot of emotions. One of them is the realization that he was never actually related to Uncle Ben, which makes him feel like his uncle and aunt died for nothing
Pepper helps him through it. Even not knowing him the way she once did, she knows plenty about guilt complexes and chosen family. She assures Peter that he's still a Parker, no matter what, and that his aunt and uncle wouldn't have given him up for the world
Another thing Peter deals with is the fear of Tony waking up and not knowing him. It breaks his heart just thinking about it.
Cue THE most relieving hurt/comfort reunion ever imagined

Terrible Fic Idea #87: Percy Jackson, but make it MCU
Look, I didn't want to come up with yet another crazy PJO crossover, but here I am. Because instead of just coming up with the lightest, fluffiest, gayest PJO romance possible - which is what I wanted - I had to turn it into an MCU identity reveal fic too.
Or: What if post-ToA Percy Jackson was Peter Parker's caseworker following Aunt May's untimely death?
Just imagine it:
Tony Stark first meets Percy Jackson in the ICU of Metropolitan General the day after Peter and his aunt are caught in a terrible subway accident. May dies on scene. Even with his advanced healing, Peter is badly injured and taken to the nearest hospital - where it quickly becomes apparent he's Enhanced. It takes about 24 hours for the news to make its way to Tony, who immediately storms the hospital with the intention of taking Peter back to his Tower to heal-
-only to be told Peter's not going anywhere by the social worker assigned to the case.
This is remarkable for many reasons, not the least because the social worker is an unassuming, overworked 27-year-old wearing Finding Nemo socks and a faded Save the Oceans t-shirt. That the case worker - Percy Jackson - stands his ground in the face of Iron Man's wrath is even more remarkable, but Tony is forced to admit the kid has a point: he can't just let someone without any obvious connection to a minor walk off with said minor, particularly when that minor is Enhanced.
It takes Tony a couple days to get his ducks in a row, proving that he is not only able and willing to take in Peter, but is the one his aunt wanted to take care of him in the event something happened to her. During that time he has JARVIS research everything he can on Percy (lives in a Central Park penthouse owned by his long-time boyfriend, a successful music producer; volunteers for a NPO started by his best friend dedicated to restoring the wild; brief stint as the youngest ever on the FBI's most wanted, etc), but finds nothing to suggest he's anything other than a social worker trying to do what's best for his charges.
Percy becomes a semi-regular fixture at the Tower. At first it's just business, checking in on how Peter is doing and facilitating the foster care/adoption paperwork. Later it becomes something akin to friendship, with Percy being utterly unimpressed by Tony's fame but remarkably charmed by his inventions and philanthropic efforts. (He also comes to have strong feelings about the Rogues and their actions during the Civil War once he learns of them, helping Tony to see their betrayal for what it is. This alone makes him one of Rhodey and Pepper's favorite people.)
This goes on for quite some time - though I see this as happening post-CACW, we don't jump straight into the Infinity War, with there being several years wherein the Accords are ratified, the Rogues found and tried for their actions in the Civil War, and for the most part allowed to return to the Avengers on a probationary basis - until Thor finally arrives with news of Thanos' impending arrival.
Only Percy happens to be visiting when Thor arrives and the Avengers naturally have questions after Thor addresses him as Prince Perseus.
The truth of Percy's identity comes out in fits and starts (demigod son of Poseidon, saved the world a couple times, ascended to become God of Heroes, Natural Disasters, and Poison as well as Patron God of New York City; has been dating Apollo since he was fourteen; yes, is actually a social worker, albeit one who takes cases across the country to protect demigods and Enhanced), which is not helped by Thor (who can't help but comment on what he knows of Percy's heroics) or Apollo (who shows up after Percy texts an SOS but can't help but talk up his boyfriend either.)
The Infinity War still happens, albeit rather differently than in canon - perhaps Thanos turns out to be a disgruntled child or sibling of Gaia out for revenge, justifying Greek/Roman interference? But the details don't really matter as much as the identity reveal.
And... that's really all I have with regards to plot. But there should be a lot of character moments leading up to the reveal that hint at who Percy really is but which don't form a coherent narrative until the truth is revealed.
Bonuses include:
The softest, fluffiest romance possible for Apollo and Percy, with the pair more or less falling head over heels at first sight at the start of TTC, having their first kiss at the party at the end of the book, and dating throughout the rest of the Titan War. Apollo goes absolutely batshit insane when Percy goes missing at the start of HOO and breaks out of Olympus to crash the Senate meeting at the end of SoN and check on his boyfriend, and eventually gets made mortal for helping too much during the Giant War. The broad strokes of ToA occur with Percy fighting at his now-mortal boyfriend's side, and Percy ascends to godhood when Apollo regains his. There's some tension (Zeus is not happy about his firstborn son's choice of lover, fearing overthrow; Poseidon fears Apollo will end up breaking Percy's heart, but softens after Percy ascends and his chance of becoming a flower diminishes; many CHB campers think Percy's mad for dating a god, etc) but for the most part it should be as fluffy as circumstances allow.
Percy having been really obvious about his background, but in ways that seem reasonable ("How did you meet your boyfriend?" "I was at a really bad party when a friend ended up calling her brother to pick us up early. I fell in love with his car and then with him.") or like jokes ("Those sea turtles really seem to like you." "I like them too." "I guess they're kind of cute." "Excellent conversationalists too.") until the full truth comes out; and
Thor attempting to make up for blowing Percy's cover in dramatic (and hilarious) ways. This should include the gift of at least one native Asgardian water plant ("Dude, have you never heard of invasive species?") and end in a bakery's worth of Asgardian baked goods.
And that's all I have, though given the way this has been living rent-free in my head all week there may be more. As always feel free to adopt this bun, just link back if you do anything with it.

Tumblr media
No one who was present will ever forget the horrific scream that came from you when Pepper told you the tragic news: your father, Tony Stark, was dead.
You hadn’t been able to say goodbye to him. He had already taken his last breath when you arrived on the scene. All you were able to do was crumble by his side and cry all the tears in your body until someone forcefully took you away.
A few sleepless nights later, you stood by Pepper and Morgan on the wooden deck, watching the wreath floating adrift on the water. Proof that Tony Stark has a heart, it reads.
Beside you, Morgan didn't seem to understand what was going on, why everyone was dressed in black and watching an arrangement of flowers float away. Mostly, she didn’t understand why her dad was not there. It was sad to see.
Happy was right behind you, followed by Rhodey and Steve, then May and Peter. Peter. He was holding his tears, pained from losing his mentor.
When the wreath was no longer in sight, people slowly dissipated, heading back inside the Stark residence. You stayed, unable to move your feet, your eyes were glued on the water before you. Why did you leave me? Why did you sacrifice yourself?
You didn’t hear the footsteps behind you as Peter approached. You and him hadn’t spoken since the last battle.
He cleared his throat. ‘’Hi. I know you’re probably tired of hearing this, but I’m sorry for your loss, Y/N.’’ You didn’t turn around, but Peter knew you were listening. ‘’Your dad was an admirable person. I’m not talking about his sacrifice. He was— He’s been an excellent mentor to me. And, in a way, a great father figure in my life.’’ Peter breathed in. He was about to tell you something he hadn’t told anyone. Not even his best friend Ned, who he always tells everything to. ‘’I was with him when he died. He told me—'' Peter stopped himself, feeling choked by the emotions in his throat.
When you arrived on the scene, you didn’t acknowledge Peter or anyone else around. Your eyes were focused on your father laying on the ground, unalive.
''Want to know what he told me?’’ Peter continued, not waiting for your answer. ‘’He…he said to go to you and feel the feelings he once forbid us to have.''
After a lot of deep thinking, Tony had come to the realization that forbidding your relationship had been wrong of him. He didn’t like it, but Peter was a good guy. He was kind, caring, honorable and very protective of the ones he loved. If there was anyone Tony could trust to take good care of his daughter, it was Peter.
Slowly, your eyes traveled to Peter. They welled with tears again, but this time Peter was there to wrap his arms around you, pull you against him and provide you comfort. You buried your face in his chest, staining — and ruining — his shirt with your mascara-tears, but it was the last of his worries.
Your slim fingers grabbed his white button up, clutching at it as you cried.
Your father’s words meant so much to you — you and Peter. You remembered the look of rage on his face when he caught you kissing in the lobby. It had just been a simple kiss goodbye, but Tony reacted like he had caught you doing something compromising in bed. He had yelled at Peter and banned him from the tower for weeks with a threat of kicking him out of the Avengers if he were to kiss you again.
Like any angsty teenager, you told him you hated him and blasted Taylor Swift’s Love Story in your bedroom.
You never thought he would change his mind about Peter, but Tony Stark was a surprising man.
Peter kissed the top of your head, holding you tight.

MCU Rewatch #1: IRON MAN
General Impressions: Yes, good, it holds up, thank god.
I want to write ten thousand words of meta about how this movie redefined the superhero genre of its day. I had to cut this post down SO MUCH, guys, you don't even know.
Not only is it still really entertaining, there is enough in this movie to be really worth picking apart. It's a fascinating entrant into this whole marathon, because as the first movie, it doesn't have anything else in the franchise to fall back on. This was a standalone shot in the dark, an attempt to make a blockbuster out of a superhero nobody had heard of and a washed-up actor who'd last been notable as a random love interest on Ally McBeal. It had to stand on its own merits, no greater universe to buoy it up, and it did.
I am going to have to write a separate post about the things that Iron Man promised us for this franchise, and how the rest of the MCU did or did not deliver. Damnit.
The Hero: Tony Stark is a fascinating guy.
Iron Man does a really good job of embracing him as a flawed disaster of a man who's a victim of his own good fortune: this guy is both the smartest and the richest man in very nearly every room he's ever been in, and it has made him a mess.
His emotional journey is believable and clearly shown. Tony flips his entire life upside down to go from arms dealer to superhero, except the whole movie makes it very clear that literally every step of the way he's being impossibly, inescapably himself with it. The man who doesn't give a shit about his very prestigious award is the same man who doesn't give a shit about his stock prices tanking or weapons dev being the entire foundation of his company. Part of why it works so well for Tony to out himself as Iron Man at the end of the movie is because in every possible way, they're the same guy -- ostentatious, flamboyant, dramatic, incredibly intense about some things and super blase about others, obsessive, superhuman on the skin and very human underneath.
Compared to brooding Christopher Nolan Batman or the pressures and anxieties of Sam Raimi Spiderman, both of whom are constantly preoccupied with questions of Good and Evil, Tony feels like a creature from a completely different genre. It's effective, unique, and well-carried by the movie.
The Villain: Pretty solid!
Obadiah Stane is a well-executed foil to Tony, which is exactly what this movie needs. He's contained and responsible where Tony's wild. He's respectable. And yet, so much of this movie is about complacency. Tony was too busy being a playboy bouncing off the walls to pay attention to who his fortune and his company hurt. Obie paid attention to all of it, and decided he didn't care. The movie ends up saying some interesting things, this way, about carelessness vs. callousness. Tony and Obie working together destroyed a lot of lives, but carelessness can be fixed, if you're smacked in the face with what you've done. Obie looked the man he half-raised in the face and tried to murder him in person when the hands off method failed.
The bit where this sixty-something-year-old multimillionaire businessman decided that what he really needed to do to secure his fortune and future, was personally get in the robotic suit and try to kill Tony himself? That's definitely leaning into genre conventions at the expense of logic. But hey, it's a superhero movie. Sometimes you have to let these things go.
The Ensemble: Thematic and relevant.
There are really only three other characters who matter in the movie: Yinsin, Pepper, and Rhodey. Yinsen is a pretty standard 'older mentor who dies to set the hero off on his journey,' and he fulfills his extremely classic role suitably. Pepper's an intelligent, competent love interest whose emotions towards her boss and friend are believably complex. Both good!
Rhodey is so interesting to me, on this rewatch. He's the one person who's put forth as Tony's actual friend, rather than a coworker, although they both occupy a similar professional space. He tries hard to be a good friend! But Rhodey is a part of the military-industrial complex, and when Tony comes back from the desert and starts to rock the boat -- when he stops playing along, stops wanting to build weapons, stops playing the game -- then Rhodey is there to try and nudge him back. You must have PTSD, Rhodey and Pepper think. You're making strange decisions. We've all been living in and benefiting from this system forever, what's wrong with you that it's suddenly a problem now? It was understated, but well done for what it was.
The Plot: Reasonably sensical!
The plot of Iron Man is easy to follow, maintains good tension throughout, and ties well together beginning to end. I don't have a lot to say about this one that I didn't already cover above, I'm just prepared for a slog through movies where "this plot makes sense" is a sky-high bar, so the fact that Iron Man not only clears that but does so enjoyably and well is pretty great.
The Franchise: It's hard to talk about how Iron Man relates to the movies that came before it when there are none, and talking about how it inspires the movies that come next is a WHOLE separate essay. Skip this one.
VERDICT: A solid 8/10
I know that for the MCU, this is pretty high on the list of movies that manage to be good at all, but I'm entering into this experience with an open mind and a willingness to discover that many of these movies are better than I actually expect. Iron Man is a very good superhero movie. I will probably watch it again someday, and I am not sad I watched it again now.

Second Chance - Chapter 2

Masterlist
Warning: mention of chemotherapy and symptoms, mention of death
Word count: 3.3k
Tony held open the door for you to head back into the tower. Exhaustion was the best way to describe how you were feeling. Every part of your body was sore. To your surprise, a small body ran into your legs. You looked down at a young girl with shoulder-length brown hair and eyes identical to yours and Tony’s. “Hi,” you smiled. She blinked up at you. You could see the gears in her brain trying to figure out who you were. “You must be Princess Morgan I’ve heard so much about.” It was a little white lie. The CEO and billionaire kept their daughter out of the limelight as best as possible. But they did announce her birth. She took a step back, glancing behind you to look at her mom and dad.
“Who are you?” She asked. You smiled. Now that was a complicated question as it wasn’t a simple answer. How do you tell a child that you were her sister?
“I’m a friend of your dad's,” it wasn’t a total lie but not the full truth. You didn’t like lying to kids just because they were younger wasn’t a good enough reason to lie to them. “We haven’t seen each other in a long time.”
“Why is that?” One of the reasons you loved kids so much was their thousand and one questions. You heard hurried footsteps walking behind the younger girl. It was the Black Widow.
“Sorry, Pepper,” she said. “This little nugget is very sneaky.” She attacked Morgan’s sides which made the girl dissolve into a fit of giggles.
“Don’t worry about it Nat,” the CEO said. “We are done talking.” Morgan gasped suddenly, bringing the attention back to her.
“If you're friends with my daddy, does that make us friends?” She asked. Ah. The minds of children were so simple, you envied them.
“Do you want to be friends?” You questioned. She nodded, jumping on the balls of her feet.
“New friend, new friend. Let’s go play,” she grabbed your hand.
“Morgan,” Pepper’s voice was stern with a hint of amusement at her daughter but Morgan stopped in her tracks. “You have to ask before you drag someone off.” She sighed, dropping her hand.
“Can you play with me?” She asked. Oh, it was so hard for you to say no to little kids. You saw Pepper speak with eyes, ‘You don’t have to.’ But you nodded.
“Lead the way, Princess Morgan,” she giggled, grabbing your hand again and dragging you off.
*
Pepper watched with a fond smile on her face as the duo ran off. She was surprised by how well you handled everything. You had to be no more than 25 but you walked around with such grace and a positive outlook on the world. She looked at her husband, who has been oddly quiet since they learned of your condition. “Are you okay?” She asked, rubbing his arm. Her gentle touch seemed to snap him out of his trance.
“FRIDAY, please call all available Avengers to the conference room,” he ordered the AI. “Tell them it’s urgent.” He took off towards the conference room without another word. Natasha raised her eyebrow, questioning his odd behavior but Pepper shook her head. It was better to explain it once. She and Natasha walked to the conference room in comfortable silence. There weren’t many Avengers in the tower. Kate and America were on a mission, Yelena was in St. Petersburg, Bruce took a short trip to New Asgard, and Rhodey was in DC with Maria and Nick. Once the fight with Thanos was over, the Avengers went back home and tried to help those who came back. Her mind seemed to wander back to you. Were you part of the population that Thanos’ snapped away?
She remembered reading about Jessica’s passing. Their paths crossed once at a conference in DC and Pepper would have never guessed she had a daughter. A daughter who shared half the DNA with her own. It was a small world.
When Pepper entered the conference room Tony was already standing up front. She chose to stand next to him, offering any support she could give him. “I appreciate all of you coming on such short notice.”
“What’s going on Stark?” Steve questioned.
“It has to be serious. I’ve never seen him like this.” Sam mumbled.
“That’s because it is serious,” he snapped. The Avengers looked at each other, having a silent conversation with one another. They’ve done enough missions together to speak without saying anything. Tony sighed. “Sorry,” he apologized. “As many of you know, Y/n claims to be my daughter. Her mother and I were together before Pepper and I.”
“Where is her mother?” Bucky asked.
“Dead,” Pepper answered. “She died in a car accident a few years ago.”
“She has cancer,” Tony told the team. Pepper could hear the slight shake in his voice showing how much this was affecting him. It was a lot. A stranger showed up, claiming to be his daughter, and telling them she needs help. “Chemotherapy isn’t working anymore. She needs a bone marrow transplant if not she has 6 months to live.”
“Jesus,” Sam mumbled.
“I’m sorry, Tony,” Natasha said. “But I’m a little confused about why you called a meeting to tell us this.” Pepper was with the Black Widow on this. It made sense to tell the team all at once but she saw Tony chew on the inside of his cheek.
“My guess is Mr. Stark is going to ask if you all can see if you are a match for Miss. Easton. Only 2% of the entire population are registered bone marrow donors,” Vision said, leaning back in his chair. “It’s a 1% chance for a parent to match their child, 50% for siblings, and 29%-79% for everyone else.” Tony nodded, resting his hand on his chin.
“I’m asking a lot,” he said. “Especially to help a total stranger but I’m all she has left.”
“You're wrong, Tony,” Wanda smiled. “She has us.” Pepper looked at the Sokovian.
“I’m guessing you knew,” the CEO said. A slight blush rose on her cheeks as she nodded.
“As soon as she introduced herself. For someone so young, she’s not scared.”
 *
You glanced over Morgan’s shoulder as you heard footsteps approaching. It was Pepper. “Come on, come on,” she tugged on your arm. “You have to continue the story!” All her toys were laid out in a makeshift battlefield, two sides facing each other. You smiled at the CEO before returning your attention to the young girl.
“So there they stood, the king's men facing the Swarm’s army. The king’s army were strong men who were called forth to protect their homes. But,” you picked up a stuffed animal. It was a dragon, a gift from Natasha and Bucky that Morgan informed you of. “The Swarm didn’t just have men but a dragon that breathed fire,” you noticed Pepper being more interested in the story. You set the plushie down. “The king’s hand steps forward, with the spellbound sword ready to fight the dragon. But a voice in the crowd told him to stop,” Morgan was bouncing where she sat. “The king’s daughter, Princess Phoebe stood forward and took the sword. She faced the army,” You choose one of her Barbie's as the princess, maneuvering her arm to mimic she was holding a sword over her head. “And she said, ‘I will kill the dragon and lead this army to victory. Who will join me?’ But no one stepped forward.” Morgan gasped. “The princess wasn’t worried. She knew she would have to earn the men’s trust. So, she faced the dragon,” You grabbed the plushie. “Alone.”
“What happened? Did she win?” She asked. You sighed.
“It was a long and hard fight,” you paused for dramatic effect. “She killed the dragon, led her father’s army to victory, and became the first Queen to sit on the throne of Krucia.” Morgan jumped up to her feet and cheered at your story's ending. She saw Pepper standing in the doorway.
“Mommy, did you hear?” She ran over to her, throwing her body at her legs. “The princess won! She won!” You smiled at the interaction, it made you miss your mom.
“I did,” the CEO smiled. “What do you say to Y/n?” She let go of her mother’s legs and ran back over to you. You were surprised when she hugged you tight.
“Thank you for playing with me,” you hugged her back. “Can you tell me another story?”
“Maybe tomorrow. I have to come up with another one. Now let’s clean up your toys,” the pout that formed on her face made you laugh. “If Princess Phoebe can beat a dragon you can clean up your toys,” you said, tapping her nose. She sighed but nodded. It didn’t take long for you both to put her toys away and the playroom was soon spotless.
“Morgan,” Pepper said, once the last toy was put away. “Your father wants to see you in his lab.”
“Am I in trouble?” She asked. You stifled your laughter at Pepper’s reaction, not expecting her daughter’s question.
“Did you do something to get in trouble?” Pepper countered. Morgan shrugged, skipping past her mother. You giggled, slowly standing, and ignored the ache in your body. “Not many people get her to clean up her toys. I may have to steal that story.”
“Go for it,” you said, placing your bag on your shoulder. “I have a ton of them.” You smiled. “I draw comic books,” you answered Pepper’s unasked question. “I learned that I can hold a child’s attention longer with pictures instead of words. I bet I’ve made up stories about all of you.” She laughed.
“You’ll have to show us them. I’ll show you to your room.” You followed the CEO to the elevator. She told you that she was taking you to the floor below her and Tony’s. You were grateful they were giving you a place to stay, especially with how tired you were. She must have seen it in your eyes as she rubbed your back and opened the door for you.
You were shocked, yet not surprised to see a small apartment. The door opened to a personal kitchen and a living space. Pepper walked into the living room which consisted of a dining room table, couch, and TV, and opened up the blinds to show the view of the city. “Tony knows how to spend his money for the best views,” you mumbled, walking over to the window.
“You aren’t wrong,” Pepper said, glancing over to you. “He rented out the top of the Empire State Building for date night.” You smiled.
“Romantic.” It was. If you had a partner and the money to spoil them like that you would do the same thing.
“Your room is over here,” she said, leading you down a hallway, past a small closet, and into a bedroom. It was simple. A queen-sized bed was pushed against the wall with a private bathroom and closet. “We’ll make a trip to your apartment to get your things and if you need anything ask FRIDAY. She’ll order it for you.” You nodded, sitting on the bed.
“Thank you,” you said. “I know I came here and turned everyone’s life upside down so I appreciate it.”
“Your family,” she said simply. “Besides with this group it’s the most normal thing,” you laughed which quickly turned into a yawn. “Get some sleep and come find me if you need anything.”
“Thank you, Pepper.” She smiled and left your room. When you heard the door close, you let out a slow breath. You felt a weight lifted off your shoulders on how well today went. But you knew you had to be realistic. Even though they agreed to help doesn’t mean they will be matched. It was a small percentage that Tony would be a match. There was a Plan B. It took a very long time for your doctor to convince you to reach out to the billionaire. Doctor Lucas Carpenter. He was a family friend and he had the honor to watch you grow up, something he liked to remind you every single day. So Plan B was to increase your chemo dosage and the frequency of the treatment.
You rubbed your forehead and emptied your bag onto the bed. You plugged in your phone charger and attached your phone. The pill counter you used was put on the bathroom counter and the rest of your belongings were thrown on the floor to be dealt with later. You climbed underneath the covers, taking off your beanie and throwing it on top of your bag. It wasn’t long before the exhaustion of the day caught up with you and you fell asleep.
*
“Daddy!” Morgan ran into her father’s lap. Tony had just enough time to set the swabs down before catching his youngest. “Mommy said you wanted to see me.”
“And what has Mommy said about running in my lab?” He asked. She smiled.
“But she isn’t here now.” Tony sighed, shaking his head with a soft smile on his face. The billionaire sat Morgan down on his workbench.
“I need you to use your best listening skills,” he tickled right underneath her ears. Her laughter echoed in the quiet lab. It was music to Tony’s ear and a wonderful reminder of the life he had. But it made him wonder what he missed with you. “Y/n needs our help,” he continued once her laughter calmed down.
“Help?” She repeated back to him. “Is she okay? I was just playing with her.”
“She’s sick,” Tony simply said. He wasn’t sure how to explain a topic like cancer to his youngest. He and Pepper tried to shield the darker parts of the world from Morgan and they did their best. But she was smart and knew that sometimes her daddy, aunts, and uncles had to go away to keep the world safe. “And we could help her. Do you want to try?” She nodded. He grabbed two cotton swabs, he purposely didn’t do it with the others so he could show Morgan. “I’m going to do a swab of your mouth like his,” he made sure to get the inside of both of his cheeks. Once he was done, he put it in a bag. “See simple. Are you ready?” He wasn’t going to force her to do it if he didn’t want to. She stared at the cotton swap.
“Will it hurt?” She whispered. Tony shook his head.
“It’ll just tickle,” he said. He wasn’t going to go into detail about the procedure if they were a match. They couldn’t get ahead of themselves. Morgan opened her mouth and Tony quickly swapped both of her cheeks. “There,” he sealed her sample and labeled it. “All done. Thank you, sweetheart. You're my hero.” Morgan shook her head, hugging her father.
“I’m not a superhero, Daddy, you are.” At the moment, Tony didn’t feel like one. He was angry that Jessica kept you from him. Tony kissed the top of her head.
“I love you 3000,” he whispered.
“Love you too Daddy.”
*
“Wake up, sleepyhead,” you heard a calming voice pull you out of your dream state. “Come on. We can’t sleep anymore.” You were awake but you did not want to be. Groaning, you buried your head deeper into the pillow.
“Don’t wanna,” you mumbled. Someone giggled. You opened your eyes, peeking to the side, and saw that it was Wanda. “What time is it?” You asked, flopping onto your back.
“7 o’clock,” your eyes widened. You got to the tower around 1300 and fell asleep around 1430, you did not mean to sleep for that long. “You’ve had a busy day and we wanted you to rest. But dinner is ready and you need to eat.” That was true. You had a small breakfast due to your nerves and the crackers she got you for lunch.
“Thank you,” you said, sitting up. “Give me a second and we can head down.” You walked into the bathroom, splashing cold water on your face.
“We are having lasagna,” she told you. You opened your pill container and pulled out an anti-nausea pill, just in case. “We weren’t sure what you liked.”
“That’s fine,” you stepped out of the bathroom and picked up the beanie on the ground, whipping it off before placing it on your head.
“I want you to know you don’t have to wear a beanie in front of us,” you shrugged.
“It’s second nature to wear it,” you told her as you walked out of your room and to the front door. “Most people stare at me and I get uncomfortable. So who lives on this floor?” You asked her as you waited for the elevator. Wanda explained each floor had 4 apartments and a common space to share. Peter, Kate, and America were on your floor.
“But America is usually in Kate’s room. They’ve been dating for a few months.” Cute. You were excited to meet them. When the metal doors opened, the smells hit you immediately. You scrunch your nose, hiding your disgust as you scratch your nose. It was the worst part of chemo. Not the hair loss or the fatigue, your taste buds and sense of smell changed. Going to grocery stores was a nightmare. It was a common side effect of chemotherapy and it would go away once the treatment was over. But now it was killing you especially since you loved cooking. Cooking was a way to communicate when you didn’t know the language or the way to learn about a different culture. It was a beautiful art form and it was impossible to cook when your senses were out of whack. It changed from day to day. Some foods made you nauseous but a week later it was your comfort food. It was annoying.
Natasha went to hand you a plate but you held up your hand, showing her the pill in your hand. She nodded, placing the plate on the counter. You quickly filled up a glass of water and took the pill. It was the tomato sauce and garlic that were causing your stomach to twist and turn. “Are you okay?” Tony asked. You nodded, filling up the glass.
“Worst part of chemo,” you smiled. “My sense of smell and taste gets all weird.” You put some salad on your plate and opted out of the garlic bread, which hurt because you loved garlic bread. Tony smiled sadly.
“We’ll figure it out, kid,” he said, placing a gentle hand on your shoulder. It felt a little weird, receiving comfort from a man that was missing your entire life. You placed your hand on top of yours.
“Yeah, we will.” Morgan wanted to sit next to you. So you sat next to her and Tony and Pepper on the other side of Morgan. Natasha sat in front of you with Bucky next to her. You kept out of the conversation, trying to focus on keeping the food you were eating down.
“So,” Natasha said, directing the table to you. “Tell us about yourself.” You whipped your mouth with a napkin.
“Like what my favorite color is?” You questioned with a teasing smile. Natasha rolled her eyes, mumbling under her breath, ‘Great now there are two of them.’ You laughed. “I was homeschooled until I reached college. I double majored in marine biology and mechanical engineering then I got my doctorate in marine biology. I lived on a sailboat for a little bit.”
“By yourself?” Steve questioned. You nodded, taking the last bite of your salad. You wondered if they noticed your untouched lasagna.
“Aren’t you a little young to be living on a sailboat and getting your doctorate?” You shrugged. Probably.
“I graduated college when I was 15,” you simply said, cheeks burning at their impressed looks. You didn’t like to make a big deal of your accomplishments because you knew you were lucky to have the resources to accomplish everything. But you didn’t miss the proud smile on Tony’s face. And you smiled back.

Tony and Steven working on a project together, something that is important to the both of them, but doesn't have to do anything with either of their jobs, nor the superhero thingy, not an au, those are still in the picture, but this is much more important to them at this point in time (would be sweet if it was kid related but I want to see what you can come up with otherwise, so no kids, either biological or adopted, also no pets because allthough that would be adorable but I'm looking for something interesting, something serious but also something they have fun doing)
Fluff, angst, spice, anything goes ig
This was a hell of a challenge, because your constraints ruled out pretty much everything I can imagine them working on together. My thought process went like this:
Anything technological relates to Tony’s job with Stark Industries, so it can’t be anything to do with technology.
Anything magic relates to Stephen’s job as a Sorcerer, so it can’t be anything to do with magic.
This rules out any kind of research project for them together.
Not superhero related rules out any kind of diplomacy or recruitment.
Nothing with kids.
Nothing with pets.
It’s serious so it can’t be a joke or a prank.
It’s fun so it can’t be related to their various mental health issues.
In my brain, this means that there are exactly three options for me to write about:
Their relationship.
A hobby that has nothing to do with magic or tech.
Their friends.
To me “working on your relationship” implies addressing possible problems, unless they’re planning their wedding, and I didn’t feel like writing wedding planning, so I ruled that out.
A hobby didn’t feel serious enough.
Which is how we got to this.
And, uh, this intro is almost longer than the response. Sorry!
-
“Trapping them together won’t work,” Stephen says. “Wong has access to portals.”
Tony hummed thoughtfully. “Portals can’t be blocked?”
“They can, but believe me when I say that a sorcerer prevented from portalling is in no mood to have a friendly chat with someone they already dislike,” Stephen says dryly.
Sighing, Tony swipes his hand through the hologram and knocks that option off the list they’ve been brainstorming. He considers the remaining options. “There’s no way we can convince Rhodey he needs to take a magic consult,” Tony admits after a moment. “He’d just kick it to me.”
“You couldn’t be unavailable?”
“Not given that Rhodey has access to Pepper,” Tony says.
It’s Stephen’s turn to hum. “Could we bring her in on this?”
Tony snaps his fingers and points at Stephen. “I would make her life easier if your practical friend and my practical friend got along.”
“And we’d have practical input on the project,” Stephen says dryly, and Tony has to laugh.
“I always assumed Rhodey and Wong would get along great,” he says. “It kind of blows my mind that they don’t.”
“Well. Not yet.”
Tony nods. Surely, between the two of them, they can fix this.

FIC REC WEEK 9 – AUs
Cold Space, Warm Welcome by Annie D (scaramouche)
Pairing: Steve/Tony Rating: T Words: 15,572 Tags: Sci-Fi, Misunderstandings, Pining Steve
Summary: Tony’s spent a couple of years flying around the galaxy in his best friend Rhodey’s spaceship the Iron Advance, doing what could perhaps be counted as ‘hero’ work. Among their allies is Steve Rogers, captain of his own crew, with whom Tony has a… potentially friendly relationship. When Steve’s ship is irreparably damaged, Rhodey takes him and his whole crew onto the Iron Advance to recover. Tony’s not at all nervous about this, because so what if this is the first time Steve will see him without the Iron Man armor?
Reasons why I love it: Steve is so whipped for Tony, oh my god. I adore their dynamic here, and it's so much fun to see all of Steve's fumbling attempts to make his interest known from Tony's point of view, who is utterly oblivious. And the setting itself is fantastic, it really paints a picture of what their lives in space are like. I love this fic to bits, and I bet you will too!
The Scars of Your Love by blue_jack
Pairing: Steve/Tony Rating: M Words: 5,462 Tags: Scars, Angst with a Happy Ending, Breaking Up and Making Up
Summary: On the day Peggy moved out, Steve stood naked in front of the mirror and looked at all the ragged lines running over his body. He felt like someone had taken a knife to him, slicing every inch open, and he didn’t understand how there wasn’t any blood. He traced one particularly thick scar on his stomach, gritting his teeth against the pain, the memory of the first time he’d brought Peggy over to meet his family and all the teasing that had accompanied it burning through his mind. He couldn’t imagine her marks ever disappearing, and in that moment, he didn’t want them to, didn’t want to ever expose himself to that much hurt again. Once in a lifetime was enough.
Reasons why I love it: Having heartbreak leave actual, physical scars on your body is such a kickass concept. Emotional pain is so real it often feels like it should leave scars, and Steve sure hasn't been spared during his lifetime. I really like how the whole later conflict with Tony is set up because of Steve's relationship with Peggy. It feels very true to Steve's character that he acts the way he does. And oh my god, poor Tony. I love this one, please go and check it out!
Missing and Ravished by SailorChibi
Pairing: Steve/Tony Rating: E Words: 8,760 Tags: Serial Killer Steve, Officer Tony, Gore
Summary: Officer Tony Stark really did not mean to fall in love with a serial killer.
Reasons why I love it: This might sound weird, but if canon Steve ever became a serial killer, I imagine that it would be exactly like this. I love the whole premise of the fic, of Tony being torn between his duty, his morales and his emotions, and the moment it all comes crashing down is immensely satisfying. I love everything about this fic, so I hope you give it a shot!
Steve Rogers' Life Is Not A Romance Movie (He Wouldn't Get The References, Anyway) by someonelsesheart
Pairing: Steve/Tony, Pepper/Natasha Rating: T Words: 7,909 Tags: High School AU, Humor, Enemies to Lovers
Summary: Steve hasn't always had this ridiculous crush on Tony Stark. (Or, the one where Steve is his polite old self and doesn't really hate Tony Stark (unfortunately), Tony is a child progidy and apparently a cab driver now, too, and high school is still high school, even when you are the son of a billionaire.)
Reasons why I love it: Steve the spitfire makes an appearance! They're both such dorks in this, and the way they stand up for each other in front of bullies legitimately makes my heart melt. Also, Pepper and Natasha are queens, and I adore them with my whole heart. Definitely check this one out, it's adorable!
Stellar Love Affairs by AvengersNewB, BladeoftheNebula
Pairing: Steve/Tony Rating: E Words: 5,407 Tags: A/B/O (Omega Tony, Alpha Steve), Mating Cycles, Space AU
Summary: Captain Steve Rogers gets assigned to command the starship Avenger. Everything is going as expected until he sets eyes on Tony Stark, who happens to be the first omega Steve's ever met.
Reasons why I love it: A Star Trek fusion, A/B/O, fuck or die fic written by two of my favorite people in this fandom? It's like this fic was written for me! I love everything about it, from the worldbuilding to the smut to them getting their heads out of their asses and finally communicating. It's fantastic, and I highly recommend you check it out for yourself!

Proof that Tony Stark is not an alcoholic in the MCU. Part 2
Iron Man 2:
What’s going on: Tony is dying from palladium poisoning. Alcohol would make things worse for him. Let’s check how much he drinks there:
0:18:15 – Tony is drinking chlorophyll to reduce symptoms.
Tumblr media
0:21:20 – Pepper asks him “Have you been drinking?”, Tony replies “Chlorophyll”. He’s completely honest (we just saw him doing it).
0:21:40 – they are drinking champagne to celebrate the new CEO of Stark Industries.
Tumblr media
0:26:28 – Monaco. Waiter brings alcohol to Tony and Pepper. Tony takes a glass of (probably) scotch and Pepper a glass of something else.
0:26:31 – Tony says “Cheers” but moves his glass towards Natasha (as if showing her to take it), and she instantly takes both glasses from them and gave them back to the waiter. The guy looks kinda disappointed.
Tumblr media
0:26:40 – Pepper takes her drink back, but Tony doesn’t.
Tumblr media
0:51:40 – blood toxicity level – 89%. Tony repeats that he wants to cancel the party.
0:53:00 – Tony drinks the dirty martini that Natasha made for him.
Tumblr media
0:53:58 – Tony seems drunk. He has a bottle in his hand.
0:55:09 - Pepper takes the bottle from him.
Tumblr media
0:56:30 - we can see another bottle in Tony’s hands (Remy Martin Cognac). It's less than half full and there's no way Tony could drink it all.
Tumblr media
Then Tony and Rhodey fight each other. See my post “Tony wasn’t drunk (or explanation of his plan to die alone in IM2)” to understand what’s going on in the scene.
Briefly: Tony’s blood contains an almost deadly amount of palladium and can’t stand much alcohol, which is toxic if you didn’t know. He wants to pass his armor to Rhodey without making him and Pepper suspect that something is wrong (see Fury’s words in the Donut scene). He needs to control what’s happening, so he can’t drink at the party, but he pretends that he does. For example, he “can’t stand” in one moment, but has no coordination problem after that. He has “slurred” speech at the party, but after the fight started, it’s back to normal. He can aim easily, something that a drunk person wouldn’t be able to do. He also hurt no one, despite seemingly reckless behavior, and drove the crowd away before blowing up the house with Rhodey.
1:14:58 – Tony drinks Dr Pepper with ice (not alcohol) – we can see the can on the table next to him at 1:14:50.
Tumblr media
That’s it. Again we have like 50 minutes until the end of the movie and there are no more scenes where Tony drinks something.
What we can tell by now? Tony drinks 2 times throughout the movie (a glass of champagne at 0:21:40 and a glass of martini at 0:53:00), that’s even less than in his first movie. For comparison, Pepper had 2 drinks in the movie too. And she is not even the main character, accused of being an alcoholic.
He shows poisoning symptoms and “strange” behavior in the movie that others (Rhodey and Pepper) see as signs of alcohol intoxication (like at 0:21:20 or in the Alternate Opening of the movie). I’ll write about that more in the future.
Conclusion: still “normal drinker”.
If we go back from the MCU to our real world, the reason behind the fact that Tony is not an alcoholic on Earth 199999 is purely financial – we are dealing with a movie, whose audience includes kids and teenagers. And one of the main sources of profit for Marvel is merchandise for young consumers. And a guy with a drinking problem is not the most appropriate hero for them.
Here’s the screenwriter Justin Theroux’s words about the Party scene in Iron Man 2:
“…That's how we landed on his illness, that it's the metaphor for a man who's running out of steam and needs his friends to step up. Whereas, if we ran right toward the 'Demon in the Bottle' story, nobody wants to see Tony like that."
"We realized that in a comic book you can have one key-frame where it's a guy, drunk, but in a movie, that's gotta be a big scene and it's gotta be addressed," added Theroux. "A thirteen year old kid does not want to see drunken Tony."

SteveTony Weekly - August 18 - Week 33
Tumblr media
Hello, friends! Here are the fic I’ve been reading this week. What are you reading? Anything I’d like? Share them--and be sure to kudos and comment if you enjoy these!
*
Between a Rock and a Hard Place by starspangledsprocket
"Doom had sent him back in time with that laser – he had to have; it was the only reasonable explanation for Rhodey looking so young, and the fact it was now New Years Eve."
All Wrapped Up by KandiSheek
Tony gets caught by a tentacle monster, which sounds terrible but actually isn't. The creature just... holds him, for a while, before the rest of the Avengers show up and rescue him. Finding out just how depressingly touch-starved you are via wholesome tentacle kidnapping has to be the pinnacle of humiliation.
Now Tony needs to figure out how he can repeat the experience with less tentacles and more actual human contact. And also why the hell Steve seems to be the only one on the team who isn't down for some casual Tony cuddling.
So Wrong, So Good by tinystark616
Steve and Tony are on vacation with the team and are forced to share a room. The problem is that Steve can't resist touching himself while Tony's asleep.
Of course, Tony wakes up and catches him.
Met You on a Monday by justanotherrollingstony (adoctoraday)
The Chitauri invade on a Monday, the same day that Steve meets Iron Man for the first time, and then Toni Stark--and then everything he thinks he knows about both of them goes right out the window.
you’ve got to close your eyes and see by Thahire
Morgan manages to bring Tony back eleven years after Thanos’ defeat, long after everyone’s learned to live without him. Everyone’s overjoyed once they get over their shock, but Tony finds it hard to adjust, now that Pepper’s moved on and Morgan’s not a little kid anymore.
Somehow, the one constant is Steve.

“Why do I always agree to road trips in the Bronco?” Y/n sighs, stretching as she hopped out of her husband’s truck.
“Because you love me?” Bradley chuckles, shutting the door before pulling y/n close. “Besides, you really wanna fly here and then get a rental car?”
“We could’ve taken my car, at least we wouldn’t have been broken down on the side of the road for 6 hours.”
“You weren’t complaining those six hours,” Bradley mumbles into a kiss, pinning her against the side of the truck.
“Babe, if you don’t stop were never going in.”
“Maybe that’s my plan.” Bradley wiggles his brows making y/n laugh.
“I’m going inside Bradshaw.” She pushes him back, walking aged into the Hard Deck. Bradley groans before jogging after her, opening the door before y/n can grab it.
“My lady.” He bows slightly, a teasing smirk on his face.
“Still not happening, handsome.” She taps his face before walking into the bar, her husband close behind.
“Bradshaws! That you guys?” Y/n smiles at the voice of her best friend, dragging her husband over to the pool tables. She immediately pulls Phoenix into a tight hug. “This is how I find out you’re stateside?”
“Yeah, just thought we’d surprise you.” Bradley chuckles.
“I’m gonna go grab us some drinks.” Y/n jogs up to the bar, drumming a little when Penny turns around. “Hey Pen, one beer and a water please.” Y/n smiles.
“Hey, when did you newlyweds get back? Haven’t seen you two since the wedding.”
“Bradley go stationed in Virginia and I got pulled into a pretty big mess in New York before heading down there. Been a super busy year.” Y/n sighs taking a sip of her drink.
“Now I know I raised to better than to drink beer.” A voice calls out from behind her.
“Dad?! Hey!” Y/n abandons the drinks and wraps her dad in a hug. “What are you doing here?”
“Just checking up on my favorite aviators, and helping the Navy with a few upgrades.”
“Of course.” Y/n laughs. “How's Pepper and little Morgan?”
“They’re great!”
“And how are you?” Y/n asks.
“Good, good. I’m doing a lot better.” Y/n had gotten lucky with the blip. Bradley and all her friends were still around afterwards but she had lost so much family at the same time.
“Its okay to not be okay. I miss him too.” Him, Peter Parker. He was like a little brother to y/n, called her at least twice a week for help on his science homework, especially when they talked about aerodynamics.
“Where’s that boy toy of yours? Chicken?”
“Rooster, dad. He’s over by the pool tables.” Y/n leads her father, drinks in hand, to the group.
“B, look who I found.” Y/n smiles handing Bradley his drink.
“Mr. Stark, how are you sir?” Bradley greets, shaking his hand.
“I thought I told you to call me Tony.” He greets his son-in-law. “Who are your friends?”
“Holy shit! You’re Tony Stark! The Tony Stark!”
“That’s Lieutenant Garcia, callsign Fanboy. Lieutenant Trace, callsign Phoenix. And Lieutenant Fitch, callsign Payback. And that's Lieutenant Floyd, aka Bob. ”
“Please to meet you sir.” Phoenix greets.
“Big fan.” Payback smiles.
“Those two over there are lieutenants Machado and Seresin, Coyote and Hangman.” Bradley introduces.
“You must be the one my daughter tells me about?” Tony questions, nodding towards Hangman.
“Awe you talk about me Stark?” Hangman plays shocked, a hand on his chest.
“Wish it was good things don’t ya?” Y/n chuckles. “Guys this my dad.”
“No way!” Fanboy shrieks.
“You’re dad is Iron Man?”
“Dude, how are you still alive?” Hangman and Coyote joke towards Bradley.
“As much as I would love to stay and chat, duty calls.” Tony nods to everyone before turning to his daughter. “Sweetheart.” He hugs her. “I’ll see you later, Bradshaw.”
“Good to see you too, sir.”
“Dinner at my place, Saturday. Don’t be late.” Tony points walking towards the exit.
Y/n nods before turning back towards her friends to their faces in shock. “Alright, ask away!”
Saturday night
“Hey! There’s my two favorite aviators!” Tony calls out as y/n and Bradley walk into the quaint beech house.
“Hi dad.”
“We brought wine.” Bradley smiles, setting the bottle down on the kitchen counter.
“Tony have you seen my-“ pepper round the corner from the hallway to see y/n and Bradley. “Oh my god hi!”
Y/n quickly pulls her step-mom into a tight hug. “As much as I love you, Pepper. Where’s the baby?” Y/n hears Morgan’s coos come from the living room and she immediately takes off towards it.
“She’s getting baby fever.” Tony points out to Bradley.
“No, she’s just excited to see her little sister, she was an only child for 30 years.” Bradley jabs back.
“I’m just saying. She might want them now.”
“She loves flying too much right now. Told her we’d wait until she was ready to hang up her wings.” Bradley sighs. “Its what she wants.”
“I think what she wants is for you to be happy and to have a family with you.” Pepper nods towards the living room. They look over to couch to see y/n making silly faces a Morgan, making the 6 month old baby giggle.
“I’m ready. I have been since the day I met her. But having kids means she gives up flying for 10 months and then there is no guarantee that she’ll go back. I can’t ask her to give that up just because I want a couple of kids.” Bradley explains, turning towards his father-in-law who was working over the food on the stove.
“Ya know, that statement right there is why I’m glad you married my daughter. You remind me nothing of myself, which makes you perfect.” Tony smiles, plating the food for everyone.
“Thanks Tony.” Bradley smiles. “Let me help get these to the table.”
It was silent around the dinner table. Everyone ate in silence while y/n picked at her food.
“Y/n? You okay?” Pepper asks, the first to mention her strange behavior.
“Yea, I’m okay.”
“You sure? You’ve been off since we got here.” Bradley notes.
“I-“ y/n sighs. “I have an announcement.” She says, standing from the table. “I won’t be flying. Actually, I can’t fly the mission.” Bradley stares at her dumbfounded, eyes begging her to continue. “I uh… I wanted to tell you before but I was too nervous and ai know we said we would wait but…”
“Spit it out already.” Tony groans, still eating.
“I’m pregnant.”
Everyone froze, forks dropping to their plates in surprise.
“You’re serious?” Bradley questions.
“Yea, found out right before we left.” Y/n nods softly. She can’t read Bradley’s face, unsure if he was happy or not.
“Holy shit.” Bradley mutters, leaning back.
“You okay there big guy?” Tony questions.
“I’m gonna be a dad?” Bradley asks, looking at at his father in law.
“Yea, Bradley. You’re gonna be a dad.” Tony smiles. “I’m gonna be a grandfather.”
“Holy shit!” Bradley cheers.
“Language!” Pepper chimes.
“Oh my god! You’re pregnant!” Y/n watches his eyes light up at the thought. “We’re gonna have a baby?”
“Yea.” Y/n nods excitedly. “Yea we are.”
“I love you, so much.” Bradley mutters, standing to give y/n a kiss.
“I love you too.” Y/n smiles, holding Bradley close.
“Congratulations!” Pepper cheers.
“Congratulations son!” Tony smiles, pulling Bradley into a tight hug. “Your parents would be proud of you.”
“Thank you Tony. Seriously, I appreciate you.”

MCU Promptlet: Tony takes a breather first AU
When Tony Stark finally sets foot on American soil after three months of captivity and torture, he requests two things: an American cheeseburger and a press conference.
Ms. Virginia "Pepper" Potts, the woman who has risen up to become the personal secretary to the head of the largest weapons manufacturer in the country and who will one day become the CEO of the largest technology empire the world has ever seen, takes one look at the three days of stubble on her boss' cheeks, the haunted gaze in his eyes, and the trembling in his always steady hands and says no.
Pepper does not call the press conference, but instead takes Tony home to his workshop where he can sleep, unwatched and among friends, for the first time in months. She takes him home to soothe Jarvis' fears (even though Jarvis' has uploaded himself to any tech within three meters of Tony since he was found, it's not the same as the sensors in the shop and Jarvis' steady stream of increasingly alarmed texts to Pepper's phone have made that clear).
She takes Tony home to be hugged by his robot-children and to let Rhodey mother-hen him the way he couldn't while in uniform, cajoling him to eat small portions of Rhodey's homemade spaghetti - Tony's ultimate secret comfort food - every few hours. The next morning, the three of them sit at the kitchen table, Jarvis ever-present, and Tony tells them of what he found out in Afghanistan. He tells them and they plan.
Tony doesn't have a press-conference, hands still shaking and fear hidden in his eyes, to shut down everything his company is known for on the way home from the airport. Instead, Rhodey and Pepper and Tony strategize.
Tony meets with the Joint Chiefs and the SecDef, not to mention the heads of the CIA, FBI, and NSA. Stark weapons in terrorist hands scares them the same as Tony. Tony tells them of his plans, for his company and for Iron Man. People tend to forget that Tony's company holds billions in military contracts, but only about twenty percent of that is for weapons.
The military knows there will always be other bomb makers, but the rest of what Tony provides? SI holds those thousands of contracts because there is literally no competition. With the military's continued and public support of SI, even without selling weapons, the company's stock never tanks, but instead surges with Tony's newfound determination and innovation.
With the military's support for Iron Man, Tony's PR surges with newfound respect, not just popularity. Pepper says no to a press conference, and that makes all the difference.
[Additional fun head canon below]
This Tony would be gently cajoled into therapy by Pepper.
And see, Tony was basically raised by the military. Howard used to bring him to meetings as a kid and Tony would escape his SI minders and go hang out with the friendly soldiers until his father remembered he had a kid. The soldiers paid him more attention and taught him more than Howard ever did.
And with how he was captured, it would make a lot of sense for Tony to be with a military therapist, and Rhodey quietly works some magic and Tony somehow ends up in group therapy sessions with other soldiers with PTSD.
The soldiers are at first a little wary of Tony Stark coming to group, but also a little in awe because most of them owe their lives or the lives of their brothers/sisters to Stark Tech of some kind.
But then they get to know Tony. And Tony .. doesn't really have friends.
He has Rhodey- who's amazing but can't be there a lot- and Pepper and Happy, but again, they work for him. So the soldiers decide unilaterally to adopt him.
Suddenly Tony is walking out of group and someone is shoving a baseball cap on his head so they can all go out to Chili's for dinner (and no, they don't let him pay).
Then he's being invited to backyard bbq's and birthday parties for two years olds. (A trust fund is an appropriate gift, right?)
And then one day Lisa (a former sergeant in the group) and Helen (Dave's wife) just .. show up at the Tower with coffee and pastries. They don't want anything, they just want to ... catch-up. Which is precisely when tony is hit by the clue by four that he might just have .. friends.

The Consequential Thing
It’s not like Steve hasn’t had many, many coffees with Tony over the years.
In many cities in the world, hotel lobbies, business functions—they’d once gone around Florence, finding a gazillion of must-visit espresso bars. Their party had bailed one by one, Pepper, Rhodey, Carol—even Happy, who’d clutched Steve’s shoulder and said that he was probably hallucinating from too much caffeine intake. Steve had to stick around. There’d been no way in hell that Steve would leave Tony alone in a foreign country. Tony speaks Italian fluently, sure, but that little detail—even if Steve’s buzzing brain hadn’t remembered it at the time—was quite inconsequential.
The consequential thing, always, is that Steve goes wherever Tony asks.
Hiking for five days, for example, to raise awareness on deforestation, which put them both in hospital for dehydration as they’d ran out of water on the last day; or swimming with sharks, literally, twice in Costa Rica and Ecuador, but also metaphorically, like last year when Steve had agreed to accompany Tony to the SI safety measures Senate hearings.
They’re even going skydiving for Tony’s 40th birthday. It’s special because it’s Tony’s 40th, of course, but on a more selfish note, Steve’s thrilled that he is the only friend accompanying Tony on the day. The fact that none of Tony’s other, non-insane friends are into jumping out of planes doesn’t really matter; what does matter, is that it’s just Steve.
Not that he doesn’t know that it’s not what he actually, deeply wants; it’s just that he knows that it’s all he will actually ever get.
He knows that Tony is Tony Fucking Stark. That he is the smartest, kindest, most brilliant man Steve’s ever known, and to make matters worse—to leave Steve royally fucked—he is mesmerizingly, breathtakingly beautiful.
Steve can never take his eyes off him.
Like just now, sitting across from Steve in the corner booth, with the flicker of the neon lights dancing in his eyes, the gray in his hair, the crinkles in the corners of his eyes—he is a sight to behold.
All Steve wants to do is to reach over the narrow table and kiss Tony’s lips, his jaw, his midnight stubble, the deep lines that form when he laughs; it’s truly a miracle—with how much he wants—that Steve’s kept from embarrassing himself in Tony’s presence.
Thank God, and all things holy in heaven, that he has the tiny bit of self-preservation. That he is stupid enough to fall for Tony, but not stupid enough to imagine that he actually has a chance with him.
It’s just logic.
Steve’s just not good enough.

The Consequential Thing (3k, T)
Steve works for Stark Industries as the head of design, and has a great friendship with his boss, Tony Stark. Except for the got-wrenching, blinding pain of not being Tony's boyfriend—which Steve's learnt to live with over the years—his life is a-okay. An unfortunate encounter with Steve's terrible ex, however, changes everything. Pining, Fluff. Idiots in Love, Bad Boyfriend Brock, Protective Steve Rogers Protective Tony Stark, Self-Worth Issues, Getting Together, First Kiss, Insecurity

Happy Accident
Read on AO3
Prompt from @idk-bruh-20
Irondad fic ideas #86 Fic where Happy accidentally calls Tony Peter’s dad.
Maybe Happy is driving him to the tower and Peter’s rambling about everything he wants to do in the lab and Happy comments, “You’re sure excited to spend time with your dad today.” Peter doesn’t notice at first and is like, “Yeah, I love lab days-“ And as they both simultaneously realize what Happy said, it goes silent.
This fic idea was submitted by @itsmechara426 of @irondadmadlads :)
SLAM!
“For the twelfth time, kid. Don’t slam my door.”
“Sorry, Happy!”
“Just remember next time.”
“I will.”
Happy muttered something under his breath that hopefully not even Peter’s enhanced hearing could pick up.
Happy Hogan didn’t actually even mind driving the kid around, most of the time. Sure, he’d been a little much at first. Happy wasn’t used to kids, and this kid in particular had a lot to say, and did unpredictable kid stuff, and left wrappers in his car, and was always hungry . And left so, so many voicemails that Happy had to listen to, so he could pass on anything important to Tony. But the longer Happy was around the teenager, and saw his selflessness and intense desire to do good, despite what anyone said, the more he admired him. And he’d gotten used to all the talking. Mostly.
Actually, if he thought about it, Peter gave off a lot of “young Tony” energy. Well, with a lot more politeness and optimism. And really, it was more the Tony who had been excited about what he’d been working on in the lab when he hadn’t been distracted with partying and making tabloid headlines.  But still. Similar.
Speaking of being excited, Peter definitely was today. The kid had been talking a blue streak about something to do with his friends and their Academic Desomething meet the next weekend, but he switched gears just as Happy tuned back in.
“Happy, today in Chemistry we were talking about ( insert a topic Happy definitely didn’t understand ) and how it interacts with ( another unintelligible set of words ) under certain conditions, and did you know that Mr. Stark has the stuff in his lab to replicate that experiment? And I texted him about it and he said we can actually try it out today? It’s going to be so awesome, and I hope the reaction is big like the one we got to watch, because that was amazing, and--.”
“Take a breath, kid.” Happy let out a rare chuckle at the boy’s exuberance. “I don’t get paid if I deliver you passed out from lack of oxygen,” he joked. “You’re pretty excited to get to your dad’s lab today, huh?”
“Yeah, it’s gonna be so sick.”
Then suddenly Happy met Peter’s startled gaze in the rearview mirror and he wasn’t sure whose eyes were wider.
Silence.
Crickets.
Silent crickets.
“Oh my gosh, kid, I’m so sorry! I don’t know why I said that; please just forget you heard it!”
Peter was quiet, and Happy started worrying. Ugh, apparently they had been teasing Tony too much about acting like Peter’s dad lately, because Happy had started thinking of him that way, and it had just… slipped out! He tried to reach his chin up high enough to get a look at Peter’s expression, but the boy’s head was turned, staring out the window.
Happy was just about to ask him if he was okay, and apologize again, when a quiet voice came from the back seat.
“Happy?”
“Yeah?”
“I’m not mad. I just… what made you say that?”
“Uh…” Well, at this point, the truth was probably best. “For quite a while now, Rhodey, and Pepper, and a couple other people have teased Tony--just a little bit--about acting like your dad, and I just wasn’t thinking when I talked. Please don’t think it’s weird or anything, or be awkward. It was just a slip of the tongue. An accident.”
“How does he… how does he act when you say that? I mean… do you think he would care if he knew that I kinda think about him that way, too, now?” The last part came out quick and quiet, but Happy still heard.
Oh, wow. “Kid, I think he’d be flattered, honestly. You should hear the way he goes on about you when you’re not there. He’s as proud and protective as any dad I’ve ever known.” And his behavior was totally out of character for Tony. Which is why they’d been giving him a hard time, but they’d also all been impressed at how having Peter around had settled him. Given him a little more purpose and focus.
“Oh,” Peter said thoughtfully. When Happy glanced back, the kid was smiling softly.
After they pulled into the garage a few minutes later, Happy rode up to the penthouse with the subdued teenager, wondering a little bit if he was going to bring up how Happy had slipped up to Tony. Of course that was totally up to Peter, but Happy kind of wanted to be around to do damage control if needed. With Tony or with Peter--whichever one needed it.
As they walked in, Happy heard Tony from the kitchen. “In here, kid!”
He followed at a safe distance, but saw as Peter dropped his backpack and headed straight for the older man.
“Hey, Pete, I got all that stuff out down in the lab that you wanted for--oof.”
Tony had stopped talking because he’d been knocked back a few inches when the teenager tucked himself up against Tony’ chest, arms wrapping around his mentor’s back. Tony froze for a moment, but quickly reciprocated the hug.
“What’s this all about?” he said, his voice soft as he tipped his head down to rest it on Peter’s. “Something happen at school?”
“Nah, it was a really good day. I’m just happy to see you.” Peter’s voice was muffled, but cheerful.
Tony looked bemused now. “Uh, I’m happy to see you too.” He looked at Happy with a questioning expression. Happy visually deflected, shrugging and half-smiling. Even rolled his eyes a little like, Teenagers? Who knows? Maybe his part in this wouldn’t come up. Hopefully it wouldn’t.
Peter pulled back, and looked around, eyes lighting on a plate of sandwiches Tony had been preparing. Dad. Such a dad. “These for me?” he asked brightly, reaching for the tray.
“Uh, yeah. Just bring it down, and I’ll start setting up. You can join when you’re done eating.” Tony put a hand on Peter’s shoulder to steer him towards the elevator, and waved vaguely at Happy.
“Uh, see you later, kid?” Happy said, the unspoken question obvious in his voice.
“Bye, Happy. Thanks for the ride!” Peter said happily. And then the dang kid winked at him. Well, what in the world did that mean?
Tony and Peter stepped into the elevator and were gone in seconds. Happy shook his head. Was Peter going to tell Tony or not? Now Happy was going to worry about it all afternoon, which may or may not have been Peter’s intention. That dang kid.
But thinking of how much Tony enjoyed having him around, and how happy the kid had seemed when Happy let Tony’s feelings slip, he couldn’t help but smile. Just a little bit. Maybe it hadn’t been such a bad thing after all.

Written for: Captain America/Iron Man Reverse Bang 2017
Summary: Steve Rogers knew, knows, will know Tony Stark, the adventurer, the scientist, the futurist. Summary: Steve was gone. Tony was all alone in the dark, the blackness of the damp, rock-walled corridor only occasionally broken by the fluttering fluorescent lamps in the ceiling. He wasn’t afraid of the dark. An abandoned mine was by no means the scariest environment he’d ended up in. Still, he’d have been crazy not to be afraid of what lurked in these shadows.

Written for: Cap-IronMan Bingo

Written for: Captain America/Iron Man Reverse Bang 2014
Summary: “I’d be happy to show you a good time,” Tony said, smiling a little obscurely, Steve thought, as if to himself, but still with that warm, knowing look, affectionate and oddly fond, “any time you want.” Steve Rogers goes to Tony Stark's birthday party. Things progress from there, with a lot of flirtiness leading to propositions, and propositions leading to, well, what comes next, and Steve isn't even sure what he wants after that. Set in the Marvel Ultimate Universe, and written for the 2014 Cap_Ironman Reverse Big Bang. Art by wiredoll, here.
