'Are you shitting me?'
Tommy drops his backpack to the floor and looks over to his brother with a disbelieving eyebrow raise. Joel just scoffs and kicks a piece of glass back towards the empty rows of grimy petrol station shelves, coughing as he raises a cloud of dust. 'It'll sure be nice and cosy for the two of you. Besides, it's only for one night and then we've only a few miles till we reach Cincinnati.' He sniffs, fiddling with the safety of his gun whilst Tommy squats down onto the floor beside the till. You wander up behind him, peering around his shoulder and past the abandoned, and very outdated magazines with an approving nod.
'The mattress doesn't look too dirty', you mutter, rolling back your tired and achy shoulders with a sigh. Tommy glances behind his shoulder at you and tries to muster a smile, even despite his own weariness. With aching feet, he reaches out a hand for you, which you gladly accept, and haul him to his feet.
You notice the way he doesn't let go.
Instead, he fiddles with the pads of your fingers intently as he frowns at his brother, who's currently untying his roll from beneath the flap of his bag and splaying it out in the air. It settles to the ground of the narrow walkway with an unceremonious bow, and it takes Joel even less time to flop down onto it himself. With a grunt, he shuffles his hips forward, places his hands behind his head, and lays down on the slightly damp material with both eyes firmly shut.
You could feel Tommy bristle next to you; it had been a hard couple of weeks, between finally escaping the clutches of the cannibalistic hunters you had stumbled upon near the outskirts of Fairfield, to losing every member of the survivor's group you had met in the nearby forest to an exceptionally large horde of clickers. Arguments and blame had flown freely between the two brothers, spat and seethed at each other as both tried to struggle to survive, and mourn their losses. You couldn't blame them: Sarah's death had broken you too, and you knew that despite how hard he tried to supress the foul feelings, Joel was still sour that the two of you still had each other.
Tommy can't bite his tongue. 'That's not what I'm talking about, dumbass. How come you get the whole shop floor to yourself, and me and poor Y/n are shoved in behind the counter? Especially since we've been the ones carrying most of the cans.' You let go of his hand and turn back to your new makeshift bed, trying to hide away from the upcoming fight you can feel brewing between the two stubborn brothers.
Joel tries his best to half-shrug from where he's lying, not even bothering to open his eyes. 'I told you to leave those behind. No one even likes canned peaches.'
'I do!' you chip in from where you're rustling in your satchel to try and find your musty rolled up blanket. 'And this will do no problem. It'll be nice not to have to sleep on dirt for a change.' With a celebratory 'aha!', you manage to shuffle your own blanket out and lay it down on the dipping springs. You peer behind you, noticing the way Tommy's back is twitching and his breath is coming out in furious gasps: a sure-fire sign that he wants to say something bitter and unfair. Yet, Tommy Miller isn't a callous man, and so he turns back towards you with a fond smile despite the sadness and weariness in his eyes. Uncrossing his arms, he places both of them on his hips and comes strolling towards you.
'I know you're right', he breathes out as he comes to sit on the mattress beside you, flopping his head back until he hits the side of yours. His eyes are wide and apologetic, shining with affection as he feels his lips widen into a grin at the set of you cross legged next to him. 'You're always right, you know that? How did you get to be so damn smart, hanging around two idiots like us?'. You huff out a laugh and shake your head, bumping your own head tenderly against his side in return. He doesn't complain when you reach out and grab his hand, unfurling his fingers so you can lay the back of them on your lap and draw circles on his palm. He immediately calms down, his tense shoulders falling back down with an air of contentedness beginning to radiate out from his soggy body.
'And with that, goodnight', Joel mutters out, turning onto his side until he's facing away from the two of you. Even though you can hear his breath evening out, you know from the endless nights of waking up to Joel gasping in the iron grips of nightmares, or to find Joel sitting bleary eyed on his makeshift lookout perch, he wasn't going to sleep much tonight.
It didn't take very long for the two of you to settle down either: Tommy decides the best course of action is to lie on his side, tucking his knees slightly behind him so you can curl as comfortably as you can around his body. It took you even less time to realise how cramped this made you, and so you managed to manoeuvre yourself so your back was against Tommy's stomach, and he was spooning you.
'Budge your butt over a little bit so I can snuggle against you properly' you whisper into the thin wave of moonlight, too busy yawning to notice the way Tommy's hand gingerly rises up. It settles against your arm, and he swallows thickly in the painful silence at the way his so usually stoic fingers are trembling against your shirt.
'Did you just use the word snuggle. What are you, five years old?', he tries to joke back in a whisper that jolts against the back of your ear and makes you groan inwardly in delight.
'You say that, but I don't see you complaining.' His heart thumps painfully against his chest as he chuckles and ducks his head against the back of your neck. He slides his hand down your bicep, choking back an inhale as they slowly slide around the side of your waist until he's holding you tightly. 'You're right', he says, 'I'm not complaining at all.'
'I always knew you were a big sap.'
'Well, only for you.'
A comfortable affinity settles over the two of you as the pockets of starlight continue to burst out between the thick blackness of the night: a strain of hope rising out above the sound of tinkering rain against the tin can roof of the run-down station, and the distant scream of infected from behind the boundaries of the encroaching woodland.
Tommy feels you shiver against his stomach. Not knowing what else to do, he tries to swallow his fear, and his smitten heart, to become using his thumb to rub against your bellybutton. 'Sleep now, Y/n. I'll be here to keep you safe. I promise.' By the amount of emotion in his voice as he chokes on the last part of the sentence, you know he's telling the truth. His vice like grip on you tightens, but you decide not to teasingly mock him in return for how desperately he buried the back of his head in between your shoulder blades; how his leg jarringly, fearfully, infinitely gradually came up rest against your own. You can feel his eyebrows blink hurridly against your the nape of your neck, as if he were thinking furiously, before he takes the chance to lift one of his jeaned thighs and places it timidly over your own. Bless his heart, it must have taken some exertion to hold it the way he did, making sure not to place his full weight on you, but just enough that the contact was physically there.
With a shy smile to yourself, you tuck your chin down against the blanket and happily settle yourself down against the man you love. With a victorious, bashful grin, Tommy listlessly scratches his hand over your stomach, and gets ready to spend a night he's only experienced in his dreams, with the person he's been in love with his whole life.
Before you let sleep cloud your mind and settle you into the sweet embrace of dreams, you just about manage to make out, from behind the shroud, the feel of Tommy Miller's lips press lingeringly against the back of your head.

Jane/Maura tension in Jane waiting for Maura to give up on her...
I'm literally writing this post because I had a dream last night of scrolling tumblr and reading Jane Rizzoli character analysis from an episode that doesn't exist. So, in terms of real character analysis... have this.
I've made a little post about my absolute favourite ship dynamic and I really want to situate Jane within it. To me, Jane is a character that has some major commitment issues (that are also somehow abandonment issues) and this fear that people will give up on her, but especially Maura. At one point in the early seasons, Jane and Maura have a conversation that reveals Jane doesn't like to be disappointed.
And I truly think this is a key aspect of her early characterization. She hates being disappointed and yet it seems like part of her constantly expects to be. If she has something good, she doesn't get to keep it right? And this thinking extends significantly into her early interactions with Maura. I'm going for the first three seasons here, because it's what I have notes on, but it honestly probably extends past that. So here's Jane terrified of Maura giving up on her as a key element of her narrative conflict with Maura.
I'll start at the very beginning. The pilot features the first little kernel of this fear when Jane shows up at Maura's after Hoyt escapes. Gabriel Dean shows up at Maura's door and Jane's insecurity flares because they seem to both like him, but instead of pure jealousy in a romantic sense...
There's also a sense that Maura will inevitably get him, not her. And very little trust in the ability of their friendship to survive them both liking the same man. Jane argues with Maura about her secrecy in this episode out of this fear when she has to go to Quantico, but she's sympathetic here because we can see how much insecurity and fear undercuts her actions. She expects Maura to give up on her with the choice of Dean and Dean on her with the choice of Maura.
This seems like a central current of the first half of season one, especially with the thread laid down in 1x04 pulled into 1x05 with Garrett Fairfield. Jane is framed as insecure about her station. When there's a murder at BCU, it brings up a lot about Jane's limited post-secondary education. She tells Maura about how the BCU campus inspires her, but also makes her potentially regretful.
This becomes even more central when Jane sees Maura with the Brahmins and class comes even further into play. At the scene, Jane wants to question the Fairfields, but Maura is resistant.
Look at Jane's face. She looks like she's just been horribly betrayed. And it culminates into this argument at autopsy.
This compounds on that insecurity about not having a college education by pairing it up with wealth and social power. These things all become a wedge between Jane and Maura because, like Korsak suggests, Jane is afraid that Maura's allegiance is to those ideals rather than to her.
This fear of Maura giving up on her clearly extends beyond wealth and education because it also comes into Jane's interactions with Maura around Tommy. Jane essentially begs Maura not to sleep with her brother, whose mind Maura finds attractive, and then says Tommy's not the only Rizzoli "with a beautiful mind." So perhaps there's an element of romantic jealousy more clearly oriented towards Maura creeping in. But when they have friction over Tommy's arrest, these fears are once again aparent. When Maura doesn't risk a prison sentence and the loss of her medical licence (you know, things you would definitely risk for just a friend) to warn Jane about Tommy's arrest, Jane goes off about how Maura didn't trust her to protect her. And how she should've protected Jane too.
She almost insinuates that they're not friends or that their friendship is tenuous because Maura won't devote herself entirely to Jane's loyalty no matter the personal cost simply because Jane already has invested loyalty into Maura. The reciprocity's unequal, though, which becomes clear when Jane shoots Paddy. At first, it's just fear that her friend will be mad at her because she shot her father.
See the insecurity in it? The humanity, the clarity she was emotionally connected to Maura despite having just hurt her? It turns.
Jane rushes to Maura because she's afraid Maura will turn her over to the IAD and tells her that if their friendship ever mattered, she would be careful about her words. She is so afraid of Maura giving up on her, and so sure she'll do it, that she doesn't even see her own irony here. She wanted Maura to trust her to protect her. But even she can't trust people that way.
When you put all these moments together, you can understand that a lot of Jane's early seasons moments of anger were actually just insecurity and fear turned outwards. And another thing is that, most of the time, Maura acts kindly and reassuringly in response. Or is at least willing to apologize for her responding anger. Other than with the Paddy experience, which took a while, Maura has reasserted her allegiance to Jane almost immediately, found ways to make up for hurting her. Like...
This fear of Jane's definitely isn't limited to the above examples. Consider:
Ian Faulkner and how Jane treated Maura when he was around
The facial expression and apology Jane gives Maura when her father causes a scene in her home
The bridge jump and the scene afterward in which Jane calls herself "hard to love"
I really feel like the disappearance of this fear is a major part of what makes Jane feel so different in those weird last seasons. She's afraid of losing Maura to violence, sure, but I think this fear of not being good enough to keep her vanishes. And maybe there's sense to be made of it. Maybe Maura has, in some way, proven herself not to be the kind of person who would discard someone else. Maybe Jane has finally put her through enough trials. But that kernel of insecurity driving her early angry moments with Maura is what humanizes her instead of making her out to be cruel. As the show goes on, she feels more and more cruel. At least to me. And I think this is partially why.
P.S. Maura has this fear too, which is what allowed it to feel balanced in the beginning.
#rizzoli and isles#jane rizzoli#rizzles#character study#again because i love it#if you see a mistake in this post no you didn't#this part of Jane reminds me SO much of Tasha Zapata of Blindspot

i just think you understood the assignment abt mr fairfield. bhvr wouldn't get it. i think that you capture dwight's inherent vulnerabilities, but that part of it, the open and selfless heart of it all, makes him such a good leader that people trust and look to. yes he's our little guy but also there's so much more complexity to him and ur voice for him feels spot on. i am simply stoked to see you and him upon the dash
how in the hell am i doing so far?
weh.... thank you. i've been writing our dear mr. fairfield on and off since 2018 on this hellsite and my portrayal's gone through a lot of changes over the years, but i'm glad he seems to have settled into a consistent and comfortable place. i'm also very glad i stumbled upon your blog again and that you were still active; our old interactions (both dash & ic) are some i remember very fondly. ash dad-ing jake, chad fawning over tommy. you always put so much thought and care into your characters and it's a delight to see. also i simp for your art, always.

LOOKING FOR DEAD BY DAYLIGHT ROLEPLAYER(S), Hey there! 18+ they/them writer here who loves the Dead by Daylight setting/universe and would be intrigued to write with someone who's also interested in the franchise/lore/etc.
— CCxCC only (OCs with friends only) — M×M preference, F×M experience (can try FxF with friends) — multi-para / literate, 3rd person- 2-3 paragraphs or 4-7 depending on the day. we can do short forms for quick interactions but I generally prefer detailed responses — I only write on Discord with Tupperbot — NSFW / Dark topics welcome (comes with the setting), open to smut but I would rather develop character dynamics/the plot first, — NO underage writers or characters, 18+ only — I LOVE plotting and discussing headcanons/AUs, doubling up and the like are encouraged! please, don't make me feel like I'm talking to a wall. — I like to chat OOC, I try to check in daily but can get busy CHARACTERS: Steve Harrington, Frank Morrison (Legion), Nancy Wheeler, Eddie Munson, Joey (Legion), Philip Ojomo (Wraith), Billy Hargrove, Jonathan Byers, Tommy Hagan, The Demogorgon CAN TRY / INTERESTED: Dwight Fairfield, Jake Park, Renato Lyra, Ji-woon Hak (Trickster), RE-VAMPED Danny Johnson (Ghostface), Feng Min, Quentin Smith, Kazan Yamaoka, Evan Macmillan (Trapper) I'm also interested in the RE characters such as Leon, Carlos, Wesker, and Chris but I have yet to learn... I'm not familiar with the franchise sadly :') AUs such as Flayed!Steve (Killer) and Survivor!Frank are some of my faves, love both Killer x Survivor and same-side pairings. Currently in the mood for some Killer!Eddie x Steve shenanigans, Flayed!Steve shenanigans, Ghostface shenanigans, Frank, Billy or Jonathan... yeah, I'm really into Stranger Things. React to this message if you're interested!

CARL’S BLOG: MAMIE, AN OZARK MOUNTAIN GIRL OF COURAGE
Author’s Note: Thanks so much for your support in reading my blogs on, “MAMIE, AN OZARK MOUNTAIN GIRL OF COURAGE.” I have enjoyed bringing the story of my mother to you. I thought since we have ended the book of Mamie that you might enjoy knowing what has happened to my brothers and sisters who were mentioned several times in the book. My book on “Mamie” and my five other books can be purchased from Amazon.Com and from me. You can contact me at [email protected] should you be interested in a sign copy. Stay tune to my next novel, “ARKANSAS HILLBILLY.” I will be starting my blogging soon. Carl J. Barger
11-14-20, Carl J. Barger’s Tribute to his parents, Edward and Mamie Totten Barger, and Brothers and Sisters.
A Tribute to MAMIE ANN TOTTEN BARGER AND EDWARD BARGER
Mamie Ann Totten Barger was a woman for all seasons, a woman of courage, strength, and faith. She valued family above everything else. Before she died, she had said to Carl, “Carl, promise me, you will continue our family reunions. Do all you can to keep our family together!” “I promise you,” he said. Of his mother, Carl said, “She was more than just a mother and housewife. She was my best friend. A thousand pictures are stored in my mind. Fond memories have been made and those memories will last forever. Someday there will be a great and grand family reunion. I will someday join my mother in God’s Heavenly Kingdom where we will sing together, “It Is Well with My Soul.”
Mamie was born in the Settlement Community near Shirley, Arkansas on February 11, 1908 to the late Elias Samuel Totten and Nancy Bradford. She died at her home in the Pearson Community, Quitman, Arkansas on July 10, 1988. She is buried in the Shiloh Crossroads Cemetery, Greers Ferry, Arkansas.
A Tribute to EDWARD BARGER
My father, Edward Barger was a nice person. He was born in Orrick, Ray County, Missouri on March 29, 1897. He died in the Heber Springs Hospital on September 6, 1968. He is buried in the Shiloh Crossroads Cemetery, Greers Ferry, Arkansas. He moved to Higden, Arkansas, from Bates City, Lafayette County, Missouri when he was eighteen years old. He spent most of his life farming. For the last part of his life he owned two country grocery stories where he sold food, gas, and produce. He and Mamie were good managers of their money. They raised big gardens to help feed their large family.

Hamilton and 10 Other Ways to Watch the American Revolution
https://ift.tt/eA8V8J
Hamilton will debut on Disney+ on July 3rd, the start of a long holiday weekend. The Walt Disney Company paid good money for the Broadway phenomenon, a reported $75 million for the rights to the film, which features performances by the original cast (we wrote a primer on the cast and where they are now).
If you’re healthily avoiding crowds and already had your fill of fireworks, here are 10 more movies and TV shows that explore the American Revolution from different angles.
1776 (1972)
Making the Founding Fathers sing was truly revolutionary when Sherman Edwards’s musical debuted on Broadway in 1969. The plot traced how the Second Continental Congress decided on independence; there are lots of fun character moments but really no other story. After the show won the Tony for Best Musical, Hollywood mogul Jack Warner hired most of the cast and director Peter Hunt to make a movie. Then Warner cut a big production number (now restored) to please President Nixon. This is John Adams’s view of history, so he’s the hero and John Dickinson the antagonist—but Dickinson still comes off better than eminent jurist James Wilson. Recognizing 1776 as an inspiration, Lin-Manuel Miranda gave the song “Sit Down, John!” a shout-out in Hamilton.
More of This: For rollicking fun in the 1700s, everybody should see Tom Jones, the 1963 film by Tony Richardson that made Albert Finney a global star.
April Morning (1988) and The Crossing (1999)
Howard Fast, proud leftist author of Spartacus, published April Morning as a novel about the Battle of Lexington and Concord and The Crossing as a nonfiction account of the Battle of Trenton. Now we recognize both as historical fiction. Fast’s robust stories were adapted into television movies with stellar leads: Tommy Lee Jones played a Lexington farmer guiding his teen-aged son in 1988, and Jeff Daniels portrayed Gen. George Washington trying to get across the Delaware in 2000.
More of This: In 1984 and 1986, CBS dramatized the life of George Washington over 10 hours. Barry Bostwick played George and Patty Duke Astin played Martha, so they got the height differential right.
The Book of Negroes
At the end of the Revolutionary War in 1783, British authorities evacuated thousands of Loyalists of African descent to Canada. The names of free black refugees were recorded in a document labeled “The Book of Negroes,” and Canadian novelist Lawrence Hill borrowed that title. (In the U.S., his book was retitled Someone Knows My Name.) In 2015 Hill turned his award-winning novel into a six-episode miniseries with writer-director Clement Virgo. This globe-spanning story follows a woman kidnapped in Niger, enslaved in South Carolina, and evacuated to Nova Scotia; she then returns to Africa to help found Sierra Leone. The Book of Negroes thus explores personal and political liberty, war, and nation-building—but not confined to the U.S.
More of This: The 1990 biopic Divided Loyalties profiles Joseph Brant, leader of Britain’s Mohawk allies during the Revolutionary War. Why do we see such side-eye on the American Revolution from Canada? Oh, yeah…
The Devil’s Disciple
It’s always fun to watch Burt Lancaster and Kirk Douglas work together, enjoying each other’s company and trying to steal scenes. How about adding Laurence Olivier to the mix as real-life British general and playwright John Burgoyne? All in a 1959 adaptation of George Bernard Shaw’s first successful play, set in upstate New York during the crucial 1777 campaign. You might think the battle scenes acted out by wooden dolls are the most unrealistic part of this film, but wait till Lancaster blows up a room full of redcoats and stays on his feet. Because he’s Burt Lancaster, dammit!
More of This: To be frank, John Ford’s 1939 adaptation of Drums Along the Mohawk with Claudette Colbert and Henry Fonda is a better Hollywood movie set in upstate New York during the Revolution, but a more conventional one.
John Adams
HBO’s seven-hour miniseries from 2008 remains the gold standard for Revolutionary drama because of the terrific acting by Paul Giamatti as John Adams and Laura Linney as Abigail Adams. The screenplay throws John into the center of events even more than his own autobiography did, and historical shortcuts often shortchange the facts. But the smart, cantankerous, high-minded spirit of the Adamses shines through.
More of This: Back in 1976, PBS covered the same ground in its thirteen-episode series The Adams Chronicles, which continued into the next two generations. Compare and contrast.
Liberty’s Kids
PBS, DIC Entertainment, and a slew of celebrity voices taught Gen. Z about America’s Revolution in this 40-episode animated cartoon. Three years before Avatar: The Last Airbender debuted, this series showed a bunch of teens navigating a world at war. The young heroes managed to go almost everywhere the action was, and also not to age much between 1773 and 1789.
More of This: For another animated take, seek out Disney’s 1953 short “Ben and Me.” To see teens caught up in the start of the Revolution, Disney also offers Johnny Tremain from 1957. Even better, read the novels by Robert Lawson and Esther Forbes.
Mary Silliman’s War
This is undoubtedly the most historically accurate film about life during the Revolutionary War. Mary Silliman was a housewife in Fairfield, Connecticut. Her husband was a militia officer imprisoned by the British, and she pursued his release while managing their farm and evading a Royal Navy attack. Educated and pious, Silliman kept a journal, which Joy Day Buel and Richard Buel, Jr., studied to write The Way of Duty. That biography was the basis of this independent drama from 1994 directed by Stephen Surjik, whose more recent work includes episodes of Daredevil and The Umbrella Academy.
More of This: The 1997 documentary A Midwife’s Tale dramatizes crucial moments in the life of midwife Martha Ballard while focusing on how historian Laurel Thatcher Ulrich recreated that life from the bare bones of Ballard’s post-Revolutionary diary.
Revolution
After making the so-very-British Chariots of Fire, very-British Hugh Hudson turned in 1985 to the American War for Independence. And he cast not-at-all-British Al Pacino and Nastassja Kinski as British colonists caught up in the fighting, plus Canadian Donald Sutherland as a sadistic British sergeant. The result was widely derided as an epic mess, but there are some powerful visual sequences. Hudson later made a director’s cut that’s unusual in being 10 minutes shorter than the original version, as well as more coherent.
More of This: The next time Hollywood tried a Revolutionary War epic with a foreign-born director, Roland Emmerich delivered The Patriot, starring Mel Gibson. Such an invincible hero, such cartoonish villains, such whitewashing of the period’s sticky issues—it made Revolution look better.
Sweet Liberty
This 1986 comedy by Alan Alda hinged on the making of a movie about the 1781 Battle of Cowpens. Alda played a local professor and reenactor trying to stand up for historical accuracy. Michele Pfeiffer and Michael Caine were over-the-top actors come to South Carolina to star in the movie within the movie, and Saul Rubinek and Bob Hoskins played the crass filmmakers. It’s a mild satire of Hollywood clashing with genuine folk, but dedicated eighteenth-century reenactors who trained the troops in The Patriot say this film is the most accurate reflection of their experience.
More of This: For real drama behind Revolutionary reenactments, check out Nyier Abdou and Adya Beasley’s 39-minute documentary Being George on YouTube.
Turn: Washington’s Spies
From 2014 to 2017, this 40-episode AMC series told a highly fictionalized account of the Culper Spy Ring that operated on Long Island, slipping information from British-occupied New York to the American command. Later seasons covered Benedict Arnold’s betrayal and carried through to Yorktown. Though most of the main characters were inspired by real people, only Ian Kahn’s portrayal of George Washington felt deeply rooted in history. But adherence to the documentary record wasn’t the point of Turn—melodrama was, and the plot twists and romantic entanglements are many.
More of This: For more eighteenth-century melodrama, check out the 2013 filming of Moonfleet on Amazon. (But beware: The website offers cast info about Fritz Lang’s 1955 version instead.)

When the ticket man punched their cards, handed them back, and drawled out in a high, soft voice, ‘Jouir la Cirque du Freak!’ Darren nearly creamed himself.
In no time, he was off. Annie followed with the same blind enthusiasm, leaving Eric and Steve at the entrance.
The siblings stopped by nearly every shop and stand in their path. They made small talk with vendors, ate free samples, schmoozed for under-the-table beer, and dropped all of that the second a performer stepped out into the walkway. Steve and Eric only caught up when the siblings became entranced by a dancing fire-spitter or a sword-swallower running their act.
Steve saw the way Darren and Annie lit up, like two blitzing carnival lights in chaotic tandem. Their joy was contagious; the lights, music, and thrum of people around him put Steve ‘on.’
He was social for the ‘sake of survival’ as Mrs. Fairfield described. There were few people Steve interacted with on a daily basis because he truly enjoyed their company. Most people were just there to Steve. Alan and Tommy hung around out of habit; Julia was a great lay; Officer Crawley kept him out of trouble and his mum kept him clothed and housed.
But Darren wasn’t just there like everybody else. Darren made Steve happy, like really, truly, uncannily happy. And maybe that’s what did it to the blond. Because when Darren Shan smiles your way with that neon-electric shimmer, almost calling for you to join in on the fun, what else can a man do?
So Steve let the carnival fair and his impish mate seduce him into his namesake. The Leopard stalked the night for all it was worth.

(kitten 1)one matchup please! im a soft 5'4" pan girl with loooong brown hair and hazel eyes. im a little chubby but tbh that's where the love is stored at babey! my friends call me kitten because they think im cute, and i try hard to make them laugh with plenty of jokes! by jokes i mean bad puns. i'm pretty carefree and easygoing, never having a concrete plan for anything.
I match you with… Thomas Hewitt!!
Sure he has Luda Mae, but not many people are really all that nice to him. It’s a very foreign concept to him, so once he meets you and realizes that you aren’t disgusted or afraid of him, it makes him… feel things. Things he hasn’t felt before - a strange warmness in his chest, and he finds himself wanting to get closer to you, no desire to harm you, no fear that you’ll hurt him.
He likes that you have a carefree attitude; he hates the thought of you getting stressed or worked up about anything and sometimes wishes he could be more like you.
I wouldn’t say Tommy’s a pushover exactly, but he’s had his fair share of being pushed around and just... almost blindly doing what he’s told, so realizing that his s/o is the same way and remembering how it makes him feel to be pushed around, he’ll try to stand up for you whenever he thinks someone’s taking advantage of you.
Gifts are RARE in the Hewitt household, so when you first present him with the gift or the sweets you had made for him, he’s kinda like… Huh? What? But after some reassurance that you made it just for him since you love him, almost immediately does he practically yoink it out of your hands, absolutely giddy.
OR Dwight Fairfield!
Your carefree and easygoing nature is a COMPLETE contrast to Dwight’s anxious and tense one, and he actually... really likes it. It’s nice to have someone around that’s not a total ball of nerves like he is, and he finds your cute attitude endearing. Any time you do something he finds even remotely cute (even the way you sneeze is adorable to him!), he’s a flushed mess.
Your ability to get along with just about anyone and your kindness to everyone is what draws him to you initially, especially since you were nice to him when he’s much more used to being pushed around and teased.
Speaking of that - he gets what it’s like to be a pushover, because he tends to be a huge one. Dwight, though, knows how terrible it is to feel like you’re being bossed around, and he’d push himself out of his comfort zone to defend you if it looked like others were taking advantage of you.
He’ll try to match your humor and ability to make people laugh, but his jokes are so much worse than whatever bad puns you can come up with, and a lot of his jokes are just… bad.
“What do you call someone with no body and no nose? Nobody knows! Get it? Haha!” Yeah sure, Dwight.
#i can't find a gif of thomas from the 2006 version >:(#Match-Up#slasher matchup#Thomas Hewitt#leatherface#dwight fairfield
