Anfang Mai hat Crystal Dynamics bereits bestätigt, dass Tomb Raider I-III Remastered eine physische Veröffentlichung erhält, welche am 24. September 2024 erscheinen soll. Dabei stehen eine Standardedition und Deluxeversion zur Verfügung, mit einer zusätzlichen Sammleredition exklusiv in Zusammenarbeit mit Limited Run Games. Alle Infos zu den verschiedenen Editionen findet ihr hier.
Die Standardedition ist für Playstation 5, Playstation 4, Xbox One/Series X|S und Nintendo Switch erhältlich und wird zu einem Preis von $34.99/€34.99/£29.99 gelistet.
Die Deluxe Edition erscheint exklusiv für Playstation 5 und Nintendo Switch. Sie enthält neben dem physischen Medium eine besondere Umverpackung, ein exklusives Steelbook, ein Begleitbuch mit Karten aus allen drei Spielen und deren Erweiterungen, sowie einen Greatest-Hit-Soundtrack als Downloadcode. NETFLIX DROP 01: TRAILER, ANNUNCI E ANTEPRIME DEL NUOVO EVENTO ONLINE
Devil May Cry, Tomb Raider e Blue Eye Samurai fra le grandi soprese arrivate durante la premiere live di Castlevania Nocturne!
Ve lo avevo anticipato e non poteva quindi farsi attendere il riassuntone del primo DROP 01 di Netflix, lo speciale evento virtuale in diretta streaming su YouTube e Twitch, imbastito per unire il watch party in anteprima di Castlevania: Nocturne e qualche breve ma gustoso sneak peek di alcune novità, lato animazione, attualmente in cantiere.
Purtroppo riguardo a Pluto siamo stati scammati, non hanno fatto vedere nulla di nuovo. Hanno semplicemente ripassato il trailer spaccamascella uscito un paio di mesi fa.
Tutto sommato, però, è stata un'ora e mezza piacevole, fra episodi - che non sono riuscito a seguire al verso, se non a spezzoni ahimè - e brevi teaser e showcase di merchandise vari. Un evento dal formato leggero, informale e conciso, che mi piacerebbe si ripetesse sinceramente.
Capisco che eventi più corposi come la Geeked Week e TUDUM siano maggiormente attesi in generale, ma le presentazioni in pillole, a mio modo di vedere, sono decisamente più fruibili e, appunto, più efficaci.
🔶🔸DEVIL MAY CRY
Cominciamo con un primo annuncio MOTIVAZIONALE (*wink wink*). Dante, Vergil e Lady di nuovo in versione animata, 8 episodi, più stagioni in programma.
La sceneggiatura è stata concepita da Adi Shankar (Castlevania) and Alex Larsen (Yasuke), mentre il tutto porta la firma di STUDIO MIR (The Legend of Korra, Dota: Dragon's Blood, The Witcher: Nightmare of the Wolf).

Mostrato un teaser che annuncia una terza stagione per la serie con protagonista il celebre riccio di SEGA. Ad un'occhiata da profano, ha tutta l'aria di una grandissima cutscene, ma non sembra male.
Non sono però mai stato un fan di Sonic, quindi skipponi. Go next.

🔶🔸CAPTAIN LASERHAWK: A BLOOD DRAGON REMIX
Altra produzione targata Adi Shankar, questa volta in mano allo studio BOBBYPILLS, che la chat di Twitch ha subito categorizzato come Suicide Squad made in Ubisoft e la chat di Twitch ha sempre ragione :v
Fra ultraviolenza in stile retro anni '90 e ironia, questo spinoff dello spinoff di Far Cry 3 (ci hanno infilato pure Rayman!!) sembra vare le carte in regola per rivelarsi una visione divertente. Il trailer ci dà appuntamento per il 19 ottobre.

🔶🔸BLUE EYE SAMURAI
A quanto pare questo progetto era inizialmente comparso per la prima volta nel 2020, ma me lo devo essere perso.
Nata da un'idea dei coniugi Amber Noizumi e Micheal Green (Logan, Blade Runner 2049), è stata sostanzialmente presentata come una "storia di vendetta nel periodo Edo - Kill Bill incontra Yentl".
Come biglietto da visita è intrigante, ma ammetto che la trama di base mi ha lasciato con qualche dubbio. In sostanza, la nostra protagonista in cerca di vendetta, è una meticcia con gli occhi azzurri e per questo viene discriminata e trattata come una "creatura della vergogna". Le frontiere del Giappone sono ancora chiuse e razzismo e misoginia sono di casa, quindi che fare? Ci si traveste da uomo e si va a sbudellare gaijin finché non si trova quello che è tuo padre, l'occidentale che ti ha resa diverss e reietta dalla nascita. Ok...?
La serie, che arriverà in streaming il 3 novembre, a livello tecnico e di atmosfera si presenta molto bene comunque, quindi vedremo. Giudicate voi, ecco il treailer.

Clip in anteprima anche per la nuova serie di He-Man e i Dominatori dell'Universo, che approderà sulla piattaforma nel 2024.
Pu confermando una vaga continuità con gli eventi della divisiva Masters of the Universe: Revelation, la serie è stata presentata ufficialmente come standalone, suggerendo un qualche tipo di correzione di rotta riguardo alla narrativa.

E dulcis in fundo, anche sul gran finale abbiamo chiuso con il botto, con l'adattamento animato di un'altra storica icona videoludica: Lara Croft!
Preannunciata un paio di anni fa, ma anche qua io non ne ho alcun ricordo, la serie si ispira alla trilogia reboot di Crystal Dynamics (Tomb Raider, Rise of the Tomb Raider e Shadow of the Tomb Raider).
In programma per il 2024, è prodotta in casa Powerhouse Animation (Castlevania, Masters of the Universe: Revelation).

Per chi si fosse perso la premiere in anteprima e volesse comunque un assaggino di Castlevania: Nocturne, nel mentre aspetta di poter maratonare la prima stagione (vi ricordo che esce domani by the way), ecco i primi sette minuti della prima puntata in omaggio.

Quel poco che sono riuscito a vedere, non mi è dispiaciuto affatto, ma la sensazione che ho avuto è stata quella di una serie molto introduttiva, con in mente un arco narrativo da sviluppare potenzialmente su più stagioni e che quindi potrebbe risultare un po' lentina e all'acqua di rose. Per ora mi mantengo curioso.

How we feeling ladies and gays???
Lara Croft's impact as a pop culture icon is monumental, transcending her origins in the Tomb Raider video games to become a symbol of female empowerment and representation. She was one of the first major female protagonists in gaming, breaking ground in a male-dominated industry and becoming the face of one of the most successful franchises in history, now with over 100 million units sold. Her character has earned multiple Guinness World Records, including "Most Successful Human Video Game Heroine" and "Most Recognizable Female Character in a Video Game." Beyond gaming, Lara successfully transitioned to Hollywood, portrayed by Angelina Jolie and Alicia Vikander in major films, further cementing her mainstream appeal. Lara has also become a merchandising powerhouse, with action figures, comics, novels, and brand collaborations. Her character evolved over time, especially in the 2013 reboot, to focus on her emotional depth, intelligence, and resilience, making her a symbol of empowerment for women worldwide. Lara Croft’s legacy has influenced not only the gaming industry, where she helped push the boundaries of storytelling and character-driven narratives, but also popular culture at large, where she remains an enduring icon.

And of course, we have to talk about the next three games getting remastered too!
I'll be VERY honest with you, I straight up did not expect to see Angel of Darkness. I thought they were never ever gonna touch it again, and I wasn't even sure about Chronicles either, I thought that since they didn't do all five of the PS1 games together, the chances of them either doing Last Revelation & Chronicles or TLR alone were still slim. But it's one of the times that I am very glad to have been proven wrong!
As much as the Core purist community has made me retroactively wary of this era of the franchise, I understand and appreciate that these games still mean a lot to many people who are very normal and don't go out of their wave to make everyone else feel miserable, so to those people who had been fighting for AoD's return for so long I say congratulations, you deserve this, we all do.
Possible SPOILERS?
From what we can assume from the leaked Xbox achievement list, they are adding the Times Exclusive level in the Last Revelation, a very weird and very exclusive PC DLC that they released back in the day, sponsored by the London Times of all things, to commemorate sixty years since their coverage of the opening of Tutankhamen's tomb, no I'm not joking, and also adding back the dual pistols and corner shooting in AoD, stuff that were ultimately cut from the final version of the game. This could possibly mean that Angel of Darkness and Chronicles are not just getting a shiny new look but also possibly getting their very-well-documented game-crashing bugs fixed which is great.
I am very much willing and hoping to approach Chronicles and Angel of Darkness with an open mind and see if, with the new tweaks, they are not so bad after all. Neither of them are terrible games, only mediocre at worst, because even at her lowest, Lara still serves, but still, I think it's safe to say that this was, objectively, the lowest point in the series.
Now, I personally would hope that they will see it worthwhile to remove the cutscene where underage Lara is almost seen topless in Chronicles or is groped by Kurtis in Angel of Darkness, but I don't think they'd go that far. Still, a simple trigger warning like they did for the racist depictions in TRII and TRIII won't cut it this time.
But we're here to celebrate! Fingers crossed they add her opera dress in Chronicles, like they did for that horrid leopard print suit in Nightmare in Vegas, that would be an actual serve!
Also, this announcement only cements one thing in my mind... Next year in October we're celebrating the announcement of "Tomb Raider VII-VIII-IX Remastered, starring Lara Croft" and I swear, I will never shut up about it when it happens! Hopefully we we even get Guardian of Light too... Who knows!

The item itself is a black, 100% ring spun US cotton, featuring a print on the front. It is available in sizes S, M, L, XL, 2XL and 3XL. It costs £26.00 and can be purchased HERE.
While the item itself may seem reasonable for a piece of official merchandise, sadly this store has been gaining a reputation of expensive shipping costs. To ship this 1 t-shirt to a UK address is an additional £17 with standard shipping.

In a no Miraculous AU what would the kids do as adults?
So oddly enough most of the Miracuclass actually have some lined up career path other than 'superhero'? Not all, because TA doesn't give a shit about Chloé. But still.
Here's my thoughts:
Marinette - Fashion Designer
Adrien - I've seen him be Mari's house husband which is a mood, but I've also seen him as a teacher which I like. Model on occasion because he loves his wife so much.
Alya - journalist. possibly still Hero-focused if this is a 'all the other Heroes exist' AU, but just in general works.
Nino - actually has a duo choice of DJ or Director.
Chloé - while Canon doesn't give her shit, I always love putting her in either business management or a lawyer. Miraculous Merchandising probably wouldn't exist in this AU, but she could take over her dad's hotel and let him have more time to achieve his dreams.
Alix - Either roller derby with a part time as a street artist, and/or go full Tomb Raider(but like. In a fantastical way not a stealing artifacts)
Nathaniel - Comics illustrator.
Kim - probably an Olympic swimmer?
Rose - Kitty Section!
Sabrina - Honestly I'm not sure on her? She needs to sort her life out.
Ivan - Kitty Section!
Mylene - actress
Max - master programmer/robotics engineer and possibly low-key supervillain it's FINE

The official Tomb Raider website just got a brand-new look!
Crystal Dynamics has soft-launched what will be the ultimate hub for everything related to the franchise. The portal features a landing page with the main headlines and a fun little puzzle to be solved along with news and product releases sections, a shop, and a members-only area with exclusive rewards to be earned.
In addition to the latest news, the community team is set to pen regular content about many aspects of the saga, with original articles ranging from developer blogs and peeks behind the scenes to deep dives into the lore, throwbacks, and community spotlights, including fan guest blogs—be sure to shoot an e-mail to [email protected] if you're interested in writing a piece.
As mentioned previously, the website has a product section with every mainline title and spin-off currently available on digital storefronts with detailed information, screenshots and links to each platform, from the original Tomb Raider (1996) to the upcoming release, Tomb Raider I-III Remastered.
But there's more to this franchise than its games. On the Tomb Raider Gear Store, you'll find a dedicated shop featuring Tomb Raider-branded apparel and accessories as well as merchandise and memorabilia from all eras of the saga. Unfortunately, the store will not be live during soft-launch but you can subscribe to its mailing list and earn a special discount voucher for your first purchase.
And lastly, the club every Tomb Raider fan will want to a part of!
Aptly named "Society of Raiders", this new membership program will regularly challenge its members with puzzles and tasks that, when completed, will unlock exclusive digital rewards in their member account such as avatars and wallpapers, among others.

1) What is your favourite video game of all time? Tricky but the first one that comes to mind is Grand Theft Auto Vice City (2002)
2) What is the first video game you ever played? Now that is a tricky one it is either Super Mario 64 (1996) or Tomb Raider (1996)
3) Are you more into single-player or multiplayer games? It all depends on the game but when I was younger it was definitely multiplayer. As I have gotten older it's single player.
4) What gaming platform do you prefer (e.g., PC, console, mobile)? Console.
5) Do you have a favourite gaming genre? If so, what is it? Third person or RPG
6) What is the most challenging game you've ever played? You know I don't know.
7) Have you ever completed a game 100%? Yes.
8) What game do you think has the best storyline? I don't know
9) Are you a competitive gamer or more of a casual player? I am extremely competitive.
10) What is your preferred control scheme (keyboard and mouse, controller, etc.)? Controller
