This was a night in Bangkok where Nora, Kara, and I went to BITEC stadium to rage at the "Together Festival". The headliner Afrojack was a pussy though and bailed out of the show last minute. So lame. However DJ Blend played, alongside with other great DJs. We had so much fun and this night was definitely one for the books! Especially because Nora forgot her ID back at the hostel, and as we were arriving we had to turn around and go back. Haha, mai ben rai though! Love my gypsy girls! <3

Together Festival: Venue Spotlight: The Sinclair
Together is excited to partner with Cambridge’s newest music venue, The Sinclair. Located in Harvard Square, The Sinclair has an eye for booking up-and-comers from a variety of genres. It has already hosted an impressive roster of artists since opening in December, including Jessie Ware, Shlohmo, and Sasha. It’s safe to say this new venue is heating up the Square.
Disclosure at The Sinclair (Nick Minieri, BeantownBoogiedown.com)
I was finally able to check out The Sinclair for the heavily anticipated sold out Disclosure show. It was just the right place for the quickly rising UK duo to make their Northeast debut. With a 525-person capacity, The Sinclair is cozy but not cramped. A balcony wraps around the room, with ample space to stand, sit, or lean, allowing for more room to dance on the floor and good stage views throughout. Three bars around the venue provide easy access to reasonably priced drinks (PBR tallboy = $4). Though Disclosure would surely sound beautiful anywhere, the venue’s sound was well-balanced, evidence of one of the best sound systems in the area.
The Sinclair is urban and trendy but not pretentious. It’s styled with a transportation theme, the concrete and tiling reminiscent of a subway station. Unlike an MBTA stop, though, the Sinclair is squeaky clean; no need to worry about falling into a grimy pit when you take a bathroom break.
The Sinclair’s Kitchen is a relaxed spot for pre-show eats and drinks
Next to the venue is The Sinclair’s Kitchen, featuring a full menu from brunch through dessert. Be prepared to spend a bit more than you would at your local burger joint, but the prices aren’t outrageous and the food is quality. With the option to grab dinner and drinks and then dance off the pork belly sliders at a stellar show, The Sinclair is a one-stop shop for a solid night out in Cambridge.
As part of Together, The Sinclair will host our exclusive VIP party on May 12th, which you can gain entry to with a VIP Pass and !!! with Sinkane on May 16 – and more to be announced soon!

Scout Somerville took the time to conduct an interview with the two of us in advance of our show with Black Marble tomorrow. In it, we had the opportunity to be much more explicit about the political aspects of our music than we have in the past, which was a great opportunity to have. Check the link above for more!

Together Festival Picks, Day Five: Full Steam Ahead!
Up and at 'em, freaks! If you aren't already over at the Together Center, you're gonna want to be there by 2pm for one of the more interesting panels that'll be going down this week! The Grassroots Digital panel will feature luminaries Wayne Marshall (of Wayneandwax fame) along with Matt Shadetek (Dutty Artz) and Mad Decent's Toy Selectah in a discussion that promises to "shed light on the new forms of media exchange and exploitation".
After that take a few hours to get in an early dinner, drink plenty of water and stop by Mmmmaven for the fascinating Wicked Easy Synthesis in C++ demo on your way to Harvard Square for an epic live dance party featuring Sinkane and !!!.
If you're not already familiar with !!!, that must be a particularly obtrusive rock you are living under. They've been putting on the sweatiest, most intense live funk-punk hybrid around for well over a decade at this point. It'll be a nice treat to take a step away from all the synthesizers, samplers and laptops for a little while to see these guys rip up The Sinclair full-band style.
Finally (if you can get in late) we recommend you wrap up your night at the Middlesex (again) where our dear friends at Make It New will be bringing you a banger set of hiphop-inflected house from Detroit's Andrés as well as a few of our favorite locals. Then get some rest. Because on Friday.... Oh boy.
